Four - Undead can't be Undone

Adrien's POV

I rest against a wall of the cafeteria and watch as pieces of the cafeteria cave. Dazed, I glance at my hand, and then look back up at Ladybug. She's obviously just as confused as me, but doesn't waste time to defeat the akuma. I quickly flashback to what just happened. I remember me trying to use my cataclysm, but it failing. I then get punched off the ceiling and come crashing down into the blood drive cart. The blood bags burst and the dark liquid slowly starts to ooze into my mouth. Is the blood what made my cataclysm become super powerful?

I struggle and force myself to stand up. While my lungs are grasping for air, my eyes scan the cafeteria to see what's left after the disaster. The power is out, and the sun is peaking through the ceiling tiles. Pieces of glass and shards are left everywhere from the sonic boom. Pipes are broken and water comes gushing out like the Niagara Falls. The walls echo and groan from the pressure of trying to hold up the unstable ceiling. The lunch tables that weren't immediately destroyed from the cataclysm are covered in ash and dust.

I'm quickly snapped into reality after hearing Ladybug's screams. She's trying her best to defeat the vampire but it's near impossible with the cafeteria in this state. Her feet are getting cut up from the glass shards littering the floor, and she keeps tripping on the broken pipes springing up from the floor. My heart sinks. Instead of helping her, I made things worse.

"Viperon!" I scream over the chaos. "Use your Second Chance and restore the cafeteria so Ladybug can beat the akuma. It's nearly impossible with all of these dangerous objects around!"

He looks back at me with his frantic eyes filled with fear. "I've tried, but my power doesn't seem to work!"

Just like me.

"And even if it did work- " he continues, "-I couldn't send the whole cafeteria back in time! I'm limited to only one object, remember?"

I run over to him, carefully dashing over the pieces of deadly glass. "Listen, we don't have much time because we have to help Ladybug, but I think this is because of us recently becoming vampires."

Viperon just stares. "You think our powers disappearing is because of that?"

"Just trust me, I need you to drink the blood from the blood drive cart. After I did that, not only did my power come back, but it became super-charged. Just look around! My cataclysm that use to only be limited to one object now can destroy a whole school!" I yell.

Viperon nods, knowing he can't waste a second. "I trust you, Chat Noir."

We sprint by the Ladybug and the vampire. She notices us, but the vampire is so strong that she can't let her eyes off of it. Viperon and I continue dashing to the other side of the school. When we finally reach the cart, I pull out my baton and start spinning it into a shield, blocking the fire the vampire is shooting at us. Viperon grabs a blood bag and tears it open with his vangs. I hear him gulping it down at lighting speed. He then jumps up and I glance back at him.

He stands up and smirks. He wipes the excess blood with one hand, while his tongue runs over the top row of his teeth. He rolls his neck back and then cracks his fingers. He sneers and winks at me.

"Ready?" He asks.

I nod. He throws his hand up in the air, and smiles.

"SECOND CHANCE"

A green-teal like flame shoots out of his hand in the air and shakes the school. The fire slams into the ground and rapidly covers the whole cafeteria floor. The turquoise blaze starts to shake the floor and sparks start to fly. Viper, Ladybug and I start to float in the air, as if gravity disappeared.

"Viperon!" Ladybug screams as she throws her yo-yo in our direction. "What the hell did you do?!"

Viperon grabs her yo-yo and yanks it toward him. She flies towards him like an astronaut in space. He grabs her hand and and then grabs mine. Suddenly a teal beam strikes the cafeteria, swallowing us along with everything else. Light flashes in our eyes and the earth starts to shake.

Viperon smirks. "What I do best, Ladybug."

The light blasts the ground and we're shot in the air. The flames disappear as fast as the light appeared and we drop to the floor. But not just any floor, brand new floor. The windows are fixed, the ceiling is shining, and the tables are sparking clean. The only thing that isn't new is the vampire still floating in the center of the room.

Ladybug whips her head around at us and snarls. "I don't know what the hell just happened, but before I go beat this akuma, just know you're in big fucking trouble."

Viperon just runs his hand through his hair, and watches the bug dash off to the villain. I smile.

"You did it, Viperon."

Viperon glances at me with his hands behind his head. "We did it. We'll be just fine as vampires."

Ladybug's POV

I sprint away from the boys at full speed. I then crank my arm back and sling my yo-yo around the neck of the villain, and pull the vampire toward me. She comes flying at me with her hands tied behind her back, to prevent her from using her powers on me.

"Lucky Charm!" I scream.

As the akuma is in the air getting pulled toward me, I reach out and touch the vampire with my Lucky Charm. Pink glow surrounds her body and explodes, sending Ladybugs everywhere in the air. I use my miraculous ladybug, and watch as the sun beams down from the skylights. The wind ruffles my hair, and the ladybugs tickle my neck. I giggle, and squat down next to the ex-villain.

I reach out my hand. "You were akumatized and turned into a vampire now, but you're safe now!"

The girl brushes her blonde hair out of her face and pouts her face at me. "Me, a vampire?! Ridiculous, utterly ridiculous!"

I laugh and help the girl up. I instruct her to go to the police and run some background checks on her. She nods and walks away. I look through the new glass in the skylights and cover my eyes. I take a deep breath in and smile. My mood is almost perfect until I remember what happened during the battle. I whip my head around and start stomping over to the boys.

"Alright, what was that?! First Chat Noir's freaking nuclear bomb, then Viperon's portal to the past?! Let me guess, steroids?"

Chat Noir barrels over in laughter. "Not exactly, m'lady."

I just roll my eyes and cross my arms. "Whatever. I'm just glad that akuma is done with. I hate vampires."

When I look back at Chat Noir and Viperon, they look scared and both awkwardly laugh.

"Wait, what's up?" I ask. "Y'all look scared. Did I miss something?"

Viperon quickly looks away. "On a scale from one to ten, how much do you hate them?"

I shift my wait to one foot and put my hand on my hip. "Obviously a ten, because they're always evil. Seriously you guys, what's up? Stop acting so weird."

Both boys look away. Chat Noir kicks his foot, and Viperon messes with his hair. I raise an eyebrow. Viperon looks different. He's always out in the sun on his boat, so why does he look paler? The more I look at him, the more I notice what's off with him. His eyes look red, his skin is white, and he has dark eye bags under his eyes. I tilt my head and look at his face. What's that on his cheek? Is that... is that blood?

My eyes slowly widen.

"A-are... are y-y'all vampires?" I whisper, scared to even accuse them of being such a terrible creature.

As soon as the word slips my mouth, both boys freeze. Chat Noir looks at me with fear in his eyes, and Viperon sighs. I shake my head in pure disbelief, and take a step back, and the another. I stumble backwards and fall.

I start to cry. "No... not my partners..."

Viperon reaches out and grabs me. "Please, let me explain!"

I slap his arm and scramble away terrified. "No! Y-you're evil! Did Hawkmoth send you after me to kill me?!"

Police start to swarm the cafeteria, doing their usual check up before classes resume. Chat Noir glances at them, and looks back at me.

He dreadfully sighs. "Let's get out of here before we transform back. Viperon, let's meet at the top of the Eiffel tower. I'll take Ladybug."

Viperon nods, and sprints out of the school. Chat Noir scoops me up in his arms, and uses his baton to shoot us out of the school before I have a minute to protest. He holds me pushed against his chest, so I can't squirm free. I give up, and rest my head on him. He's cold. His heart is beating, but slowly and quietly. I feel his breathing and smell his cologne on his neck. I smile. What was I thinking earlier? This is Adrien. When I first met him, I couldn't even speak to him without stammering. Now that both our identities are revealed, we both are much more comfortable around each other and trust each other with out secrets. Right then and there I decided that even if Adrien and Luka were vampires, I would still be friends with them through thick and them.

When we reach the tower, both Chat Noir and Viperon de-transform, but I still stay transformed. We rest on the iron tower and view the city from the very top. The cool wind rushes through our hair. The breeze is a quick breath of reality. No matter what happens in my life, the breeze will always be here. I glance at the boys and raise my eyebrows, as a signal to start talking.

Luka is the first to talk and explain everything to me. "Basically, I was attacked by a vampire a few patrols ago. He made me drink his vampire blood, and he killed me. I woke up this morning, thinking I just barley survived, but aside from that, I was fine. Spoiler alert: I was not. I was so hungry for blood that when I tried to eat normal food, I just couldn't swallow it and barfed it all out. When Adrien came in the bathroom to check on me, I snapped and attacked him, which instantly killed him after I finished drinking all his blood. When I finally snapped out of it, I realized what I had done."

Adrien laughs and rolls his eyes. "Thanks for that, by the way. Anyways, I died and he needed to revive me, so the only choice was feeding me his blood, which transformed me into a vampire. From what I know, we're the only type of vampire of our kind I know of. Yeah, we suck blood, but we aren't controlled by Hawkmoth. Which means, no, Ladybug, we are in fact not evil."

I awkwardly chuckle and rub the back of my head. "That's great and all, but that doesn't explain why you're powers didn't work at the beginning. Not only did they miraculously start working later on in the battle, but they were amazingly stronger. Adrien, you straight up destroyed the whole cafeteria, and Luka sent the whole school back in time!"

Adrien's eyes lit up. "Yeah, I have a theory on that! My guess is we need blood to make our powers work! Both Viperon and I probably drank to much, which caused us to become over-powered with our superpowers."

"Yeah, that makes sense," I say while nodding.

"Anyways," Luka says, changing the topic. "We need you to change us back into humans. Being a vampire is great and all, but I don't know how long I can live with drinking blood. I will admit, it tastes amazing, but I don't know if I can control myself. I don't want to, you know, risk almost killing someone again."

I laugh. "Yeah sure, no problem Luka."

I make sure my lucky charm has re-charged by now, and it is. I take a step back and through my fist in the air.

"LUCKY CHARM!"

My hand explodes with a warm pink glow. I cock my head and smile. Luka just laughs and steps forward.

"You sure about this?" I ask for the last time.

Luka nods. "Definitely."

I inhale and clutch my hand into a fist, than release. I hold my hand out and press my four fingers against his chest. We wait, and nothing happens.

"Huh, that's weird. Adrien, come here so I can test it on you." I say, confused.

Adrien steps up, and I do the same. I press my four fingers against his chest, but the pink glow remains on my hand. I let go and press again, but nothing happens. Both of the boys still remain as vampires. I shrink my hand back and stare at it. I start to shake, and look back up at the boys who trusted me.

"W-why isn't it working?!" I ask in pure fear. "Will y'all be vampires forever?"
