You Promised (ghosts, man)
"You said we'd do it all."
Marinette was so small, but she felt so much smaller. Caving in on herself, on the loneliness that had hollowed out her heart and collapsing into the abyss. She could hardly bear to be touched.
"You... you said we'd always be together. Side by side, forever. Fighting against everyone who threatened the people we loved."
For a moment, her eyes glazed over and a smile lifted her mouth as she remembered.
"Nobody could take us down, not when we were together. You lifted me up, made me strong, and then thrived off it. You always had my back, you always were there to make me smile, laugh and you would always be there to talk if I needed it."
But the smile was lost as easily as he was.
Sitting alone in the dawn, the day after the funeral, in a dress barely darker than her mood. She had moved the roses red as blood Chloe had placed over slightly, setting down a bouquet of white zinnias.
"But... you're not here anymore."
The first tear escaped her cobalt eyes.
Before that tear there was screaming. Sitting still as stone. Inability to speak or smile. In shock, she guessed.
"You... you promised you'd stay."
More tears burned scars down her cheeks, scalding with infinite sadness and desire, endless amounts of confusion and anger and depression setting fire to her icy skin.
Marinette Dupain-Cheng mourned the loss of her best friend, masked partner, and love of her life, Adrien Agreste.

He didn't know where he was.
At first, there was black. Not nice, calming black that took you into its arms and cradled you, murmuring softly into your hair and stroking your forehead like a mother. No, this black was sticky, suffocating, swallowing. It ate up hope, and happiness, leaving only despair and terror in its wake. Like too many people too close to him, too many arms, he needed out he needed out he needed-
... he got... out?
It was strange.
