     paris has gone into a systematic ruin in which hawkmoth (or a much powerful villain) has taken the kwamis from the other boxes and claimed them, using them for evil or selfishness but also giving some privileged people benefit from their powers (it's only a lil dystopian, think of our hierarchical world today as a reference).

     there's only one box untouched, and they've formed a group together. they're led (not particularly a leader but she's the most outspoken and intimidating out of them all) and that's ladybug.

     she gives out speeches and rants to motivate the people of paris to stand up against the evil monarch sat on their throne, waited on hand and foot by miraculous holders, she holds out meetings nearly everyday at the backroom of a café with the other holders and they create plans to overthrow this system, to overthrow the government, to overthrow the monarch.

(basically she's in love with her country and just wants it freed of its misery)

     at her side are many of the other holders: the fox, the bee, the turtle, and the others. they support her cause and help her in their abilities. a protest is to be held, a rebellion. hell, it's gonna be the FRENCH REVOLUTION 2.0.

     and of course, there's the incongruence in them: the self-proclaimed "bad luck charm" of the group, a sceptic who didn't believe in anything—not the cause, not that they'll accomplish it, not himself, not anything—well, he believed in ladybug.

     chat noir admired and venerated ladybug; the only reason he stayed in this little activist group was because of her. whenever she'd verbalise a speech in front, he'd be sat in the back, either staring at her dreamily or making comments that contradicted her words.

     (at one view, it would appear constructive when he poked holes to her arguments as it built her stronger, but in another—in her point of view—he was doing it to annoy her, that he had been making fun of her)

(of course, he'd never do that. chat spends his spare time at the café when not listening to her as flirting in the form of puns, and intoxicating himself to hide his suffering) (i.e. the feeling of his feelings towards her not being mutual.)

(but basically, he was in love with her and he'd follow her anywhere.)

     (it's not really his fault entirely. he never told anyone except for nino—he was cynical by choice. he wants the world to be a better place, but ladybug's just wasting her time trying to change it too fast. he knows how powerful the monarch is, he's EXPERIENCED his cruelty first-hand.)
