Christmas card
I draw my pen away from the envelope, sticking in onto the present, wrapped in Christmas wrapping paper. I take a step back, nodding in approval at my work. With a huff, I stand up straight, a determined look on my face.
"Tikki, spots on," with a swoosh of red light, I transformed into my other half. Tucking the present under my arm, I swing my yo-yo into the distance. With one jump I was airborne, swinging throughout the buildings, one swing after another.
Gracefully landing on the rooftop of an old building, I lookout onto the city, being toppled with gleaming snow in the artificial light, shining from buildings.
The cold seeped through my, what I thought was, a cold resistant suit, making me shiver. With the reminder of the cold weather, I turned to my partner, just inches away from me, who was still surprisingly silent.
"I got you something," he finally spoke, turning his attention away from the sparkling city. In his hand was a small, ring shaped box, wrapped in velvet.
I took a moment to analyze the small gift, sitting in the black palm of Chat Noir. My lips form into a smile as I reach for the box, taking it away from Chat's grasp. With one more look at the present, I reach Chat's gaze, giving him a pleasant smile.
"Thank you,"
"Anything for my lady," he took a bow, eyes still captured in mine.
I giggled, reaching for the present still under my arm. I extended my arm for him to take it, a shocked and confused look plastered on his cute face.
"Is something wrong?," I asked.
He suddenly became panicked, waving his arms around.
"No. No, I just didn't expect you to get me a present,"
"You did for me, didn't you? Why is it different for me to give you one back?" I lifted my hand higher, in a sign for him to take it.
A long hesitation after, he shakily took the gift from my hand, examining the professional like wrapping job. He hummed, furrowing his brows together.
"I-I. You see I don't get presents a lot. I'm not used to receiving things." His focus was glued to the present in his clawed hands.
"I guess we have to change that,"
He looked up, a sincere look on his face, his ears bent down.
"Please don't start getting me gifts on a regular bases now, that's not fair,"
"Not fair?" I raised an eyebrow.
"Do you know how hard it is to buy something for a girl?! A specially one who you are really close to and deserves the whole world?! I don't know if you know this, but the world is not cheap," he exclaimed, waving his free arm around.
I laugh, a slight burn on my cheeks. Thank cheese that it's night and dark. When I finish my short lived laughter, I looked up to see an intense look on Chat's face.
I stiffen, eyes widening, slowly shrinking down from his stare. His eyes were on fire, green flames sparkling, flickering in the winter, night air. Crackles of light bounced off like cinders in a bonfire. Warmth spreading out from his gaze, warming my body in delight.
"Thank you," he let out in a whisper, a slight crack in his voice. "For the gift," he added.
I bring the box up to my chest. Heart unraveling from his tight hold from his eyes.
"Anything for you, kitty" I smiled lightly, pulling him into a hug. His claws scratching at my back, his body tense. I rub his back in circling motions, easing him down.
I gently push him back just slightly, hands on his bulk shoulders. He let off a smile, which I returned.
"Merry Christmas, Chat,"
"Marry Christmas, my lady,"

When I got home I released my transformation, settling on my bed, making the mattress cry out beneath me.
I handle the box in my hands, studying it another time.
"What do you think it is?" Tikki asked at her spot in the sky.
"I don't know," I mummer.
"Well, I'm sure you'll love it either way, considering its from Chat Noir," the kwami chimed happily.
I hum in response, guiding my fingers to the opening of the velvet paper. Slowly, I release the box from the wrapper's hold, leaving a black, ring box in its presence. I take a deep breath, opening the smooth box to reveal a circular ruby charm, surrounded by tiny, black tourmaline gems. A gold chain connected to the sparking pendent.
A gasp escaped my lips, along with the flying creature hovering next to me. I took the pendent out of the box's hold. Turing my hand slightly, so the gems capture the artificial light from my bedroom, I admire the neckless.
"Let me help putting it on," Tikki said, after she came back to her senses.
Unfortunately, I wasn't so lucky, still frozen, mouth agape at the beauty Chat gave me. Once Tikki was finished hooking the chain together, I felt the pendent with my thumb.
A smile spread to my lips. Fireworks bursting in my mind, clouding the imaginary sky with sparkling light.
I glance down towards the box, which was now turned slightly upside down. Words formed on the bottom, so I picked the box up, taking a closer look at the note he wrote me.
The ruby is you. The tourmaline is me. I will forever be rotating around you. For you are my sun and I am your moon.
A silent tear trickled down my cheek. "Thank you, kitty," I whisper into the air, silently wishing he was here.

I slipped into my crowded, yet empty bedroom, retransforming into my regular attire.
I rummage through my mini fridge, tossing a piece of Camembert to my kwami, before Plagg could start complaining.
I sat myself onto the bed, holding the present from Ladybug in my hands.
"I still can't believe she got me a present," he sighed, lovingly.
"Well, believe it, cause it ain't gonna happen again," Plagg taunted, shoving the last piece of Camembert in his tiny mouth. I send him a glare, warning him to shut his mouth.
Deciding to ignore his cat kwami, he picked up the envelope, in cursive it read;
Ladybug
Read this after opening the present
That was weird, aren't you supposed to read the letter first? He thought.
Confusingly, he started fiddling with the neat wrapping paper, carefully taring it away. After a few more tares, a red Santa hat sat in its place, decorated with snowflakes. A big puff of white cotton at the end, three red strings followed down from the main puff. Attached to the strings were three smaller puffs of cotton, dangling below.
It looked...familiar. Like he just saw this same hat last Christmas. I hum in thought, then I remember I still have to open the envelope. The card might solve the mystery why the hat looked so darn familiar.
I open the envelope from its clasp, slipping the card from its slot. The card had a picture of a black kitten, wearing a Santa hat, lights surrounding the adorable kitten in a strangled mess. In red letters, the card read Purry Christmas.
I laugh at the pun, wondering why he didn't use it myself. I fully open the card, revealing blue ink spelling out a note.
Dear Chat,
I believe this belongs to you.
Purry Christmas, Adrien.
Love, Marinette❤️
I froze, breath shallow from the reveal. Ladybug knows who I am. Ladybug is Marinette?
It was too much to let in all at once. Sweat daring to seek through his shirt, breath rising and falling at great speed.
I remember now. Marinette gave me the same hat last Christmas, but it was lost during the akuma battle. I remember being really sad realizing I lost it forever, to nervous to tell Marinette the news and come up with a lame accuse.
"What is it?" Plagg asks, noticing Adrien's distress.
He flys over to me, reading the card, that lies in my limp hands. The kwami started choking on his own surprise, falling on the bed.
"She knows who you are?!" He asked worriedly, despite knowing the answer.
I nod robotically, slowly coming to my senses. A large smile forms on my face, showing my teeth to my mouths full extent.
"Ladybug is Marinette!" I squeal, falling back on my bed, kicking and punching the air in delight. My giggles filling the room to Plagg's annoyance.
"Ladybug is Marinette!"
*********
If you didn't catch it yet, this is a year after the Christmas special. In that year, Mari find out who Chat Noir is. How? I have no clue. But she did and that's all that matters. Also, squealing Adrien :) what's with me and making Chat's presents ruby and black tourmaline necklesses? Idk *_*
But seriously, am I the only one who noticed that Marinette's hat she gave Adrien, that Adrien gave Santa, suddenly didn't restore after lucky charm? Or am I just imagining things? Please tell me.
