Bully

I fumble as I stand up, hoisting myself up, using the brick wall behind me. My back against the wall, I lean forward, wiping the blood from my nose. How did I get myself into this mess? Who am I kidding? I know exactly what I did. I talked back to the biggest bully in the school. Idiot. I really am starting to regret that decision. At least he is safe from the bully's grasp.
I look over to his shaking body, sitting in the corner of the school, surrounded by broken pieces of once was a camera. He was staring right at me with big, emerald eyes. Eyes swarming with fear and surprise, filling in the void of the massive audience of students surrounding the scene.
"Fucking idiot", the blonde bully spat, "Who do you think you are?"
Her snarling voice brought my attention away from the boy, bringing me back to reality. I looked up into her acid, blue eyes, tearing through every part of my body, reading my thoughts like a death note, but she is the one who wrote it.
"You have no right in by business," she went on, hand hoisted on her hips.
"I have plenty of business, if it means you'll stop hurting him," I growled back, straightening up.
"Why should you even care? Do you even know his name?" she laughed mockingly.
I didn't. I had no clue what his name was, being that I just transferred from China two months ago. I only saw him in the hallways, occasionally on the streets, but I had no clue what his name was. I knew that he liked photography, since he brought a camera everywhere, even in class. I knew that he only ate lunch outside alone, while writing in a black notebook. Yet I have no clue what the kid's name was.
"It doesn't matter what his name is. He is still human, and humans still have feelings, they all feel pain. Unlike you." I muttered the last part. Please tell me she didn't hear that. I looked over to the side, not daring to see the expression on her face if she heard.
"What did you say?" I can feel her only inches away from me. I can practically hear the venom in her voice. Shit.
"Look at me," she whispered. I didn't dare look, keeping my focus on the pavement.
Before I knew it, a huge force collided with my cheek, making my skin burn and fuzz. I stumble to the side, crouching with a hand covering my red cheek.
"Look at me!" She screamed in my ear. There was a gasp from the flooding crowd.
This time I looked up, giving the insane girl in front of me a burning glare.
"If you try this again, I will end you, bitch" She growled.
"Looking forward to it," I smiled. She looked at me like she wanted another smack, but instead she balled her hands into a fist, turning on her heel as she stomped off to who knows where. Her hunch man following behind her, after a quick, worried glance at my pathetic state.
I wiped off some blood from my nose, before walking over to the blonde boys body. Eyes followed me as I walked. I turned around to face the crowd.
"What?!" I growled. They hesitated for a moment, taken aback, before scampering off.
I finally make my way to the boy, green met blue, not unlocking as I stood before him, extending my hand towards him. After a long moment, he clasped his shaking hands with my bloodied ones. In one swift motion, I pulled him, to his feet, our hands still intertwined.
"Thank you," he whispered, finally breaking the chain to look away on the ground. "You didn't have to do that you know"
"No," I said sternly, "hey, stop looking down," I sighed, "Please look up," I put a comforting hand on his shoulder. He looked up, but his eyes were now filled with tears, threatening to come down.
Before I came to the rescue, Chloe was going on about how he should start taking pictures of her, and stop wasting time on other "useless" things. Of course he didn't oblige, so she grabbed the camera out of his hands and smashed it to the ground. The broken pieces still are scattered across the pavement. And of course I had to say something. But I don't care.
I wrapped my arms around his small, yet tall frame, keeping him close as possible, tightening my grip. For a moment his arms laid limp at his sides, until he finally got back to his senses and wrapped them around me, sharing his warmth.
"Adrien," he murmured into my neck.
"What?"
"My name is, Adrien,"
I smiled into his chest. "Hello, Adrien. I'm Marinette,"
"Thank you, Marinette. If Chloe ever tries to attack you, i'll be right beside you. I promise,"
"And me to you,"
***
I might make a part two, where we find out what Adrien writes in his journal and stuff, tell me what you think.
