Beaches and Scars

"Bruh, you have a god damn four pack, which is a lot for a 15 year old, yet you're wearing a shirt to cover it up?" Nino said, rolling his eyes.

It's true, my bathing suit consisted of green shorts with a black shirt that went up my neck. The shirt hid my four pack and my scars.

With the role of Chat Noir, I had been thrown against walls and pavement all the time. Sometimes they were so bad that I could barely move, I would be bleeding nonstop(#HamiltonRefrence). Because I couldn't let anyone find out-risking to reveal that I was a superhero-I was forced to take care of myself with some help from Plagg.

Unfortunately, some of the cuts became scars, forcing me to wear shirts when at the beach. And I couldn't let anyone know a bout the scars. What would I tell them anyways?

"Hey, I happen to feel comfortable when wearing a shirt. Besides, I don't want you to get jealous," I wiggled my eyebrows, leaning up against the changing room's door.

"Adrien, you're a handsome model, how can any guy not be jealous of you?" Nino deadpanned.

"True," I smirked, "I'm still keeping the shirt on,"

"Whatever floats your boat, dude," Nino said before walking out the changing room, me following behind.

"Oh, and Nino," I called after.

"Yeah?"

"I like your swim suit," I smirked.

Nino groaned, "I hate you,"

Nino was wearing one of his father's designs, since he didn't own a bathing suit himself. I lent him baby blue shorts that had red lining on the bottom.

I chuckled.

"Hey boys!" Alya was running up to us in a dark purple bikini with black bottoms and purple stings tied in bows on each side. Her ombré hair pulled back in a ponytail.

"Woah," Nino sighed, his face filled with longing.

I chuckled at his best friend, nudging him in the arm with my elbow.

"Hey," I waved, "Where's Marinette?"

Alya stopped in front of us, her hand on her hip.

"She's setting up the volleyball net, now hurry, let's go," She grabbed Nino's and my hands, pulling us with her to where she came from.

Finally, we approached the tiny girl, who was attaching one side of the net to the pole.

I had a sudden urge to help, so I grabbed the other side of the net, holding it up.

"Need help?" I asked.

Marinette's eyes widened.

"Uh, of c-course," she smiled.

The bluenette's hair was down in waves for once. She wore a red bikini with black polka dots that went up just below her collarbone. Her bottoms were high waisted, ending below her belly button.

I smiled back, admiring her Ladybug themed bathing suit that she looked super cute in, wait what?! Stop it Agreste, you like Ladybug. Then I attach the net to the blue pole.

"Damn, Mari," Nino exclaimed, "Since when did you have muscles?"

Marinette blushed, looking down on the sand.

Her arms possessed muscles without her having to flex. Adrien looked down to her stomach to see her abs popping out.

How did a little, tiny girl such as Marinette, have muscles? It was uncanny, and a bit confusing. Especially since it made her even cuter, or hot. Shut it!

"W-well, uh, I like to...work out sometimes," Marinette said nervously.

"It's no big deal,"

Alya rolled her eyes, "Surrre. Anyway, enough about Mari's amazing abs. We have a game to play.

"Alright, people," Alya exclaimed, "Boys verses girls,"

***
After the game, which the girls won, we all went swimming in the ocean.

"Marco!" Nino yelled out.

"Polo!" the three of us yelled back.

"Why are we playing this in the freaking ocean, again?" Nino asked with his eyes still shut.

"Yeah, it is pretty dumb," I agreed.

"It was your idea, Adrien!" Alya yelled.

"Oh, right," I chuckled nervously.

"Can I open my eyes now?" Nino yelled.

"Yes, you can," Marinette allowed, "We can think of something else to do,"

We all stayed swimming in silence in thought for a long moment, until Mainette spoke up.

"Tik Tack Toe on the sand?"

"Nah, too boring," Alya says.

Another moment of silence.

"Who can keep their head under the longest?" Nino suggests.

"No, what if one of us faints?" I say.

"Oh. Yeah," Nino sighs.

"Ooh, ooh I know!" Alya says, bouncing in the water.

"What is it?" Marinette asks.

"Truth or dare!" Alya says excitedly.

"At the beach?" Nino asked confused.

"Why not? There's a bunch of stuff to do out here!"

"I guess it will work," Marinette agreed
with her friend.

"I'm in," I say.

"Okay, truth or dare it is," Said Nino.

"Great! Me first. Mari, truth or dare?"Alya smirked.

"Uh, dare," Marinette answers nervously.

Alya chuckled lowly causing Marinette to freak out.

"Oh boy," she mutters.

"I dare you to go on Adrien's shoulders till your next turn,"

"What?! Even during Adrien's turn?"

"Yup," Alya grins.

The bluenette looks over to me, a brow raised. I only shrugged and gave her a reassuring smile.

I turn around, my back facing the petite girl, I shrink down a bit so it will be easier for her to get on.

I can feel her cold hands on my material covered shoulders. Her feet skim over my back, trying to climb on, her legs one by one, swing over my shoulders. She moved a bit to get comfortable, then I fully stand up, grabbing her calfs so I had a good hold on her. I turn over to the two smirking friends who did a fist bump in victory. Since she couldn't hold on to anything, Marinette's hands found a place to settle on my head instead.

"Huh, you are extremely light, Mari," I say.

"Uh, thank you," She says, though it sounded more like a question.

Nino and Alya are now laughing their head off, till a wave crashes into Nino's mouth making him choke and spit the water out. That made Alya laugh even harder along with Mainette and I.

Nino grumbled. "It's not funny," He pouted.

"Oh yes it is,"Alya says between her fits of laughter.

****
^Marinette's point of view^

Adrien dared Nino to catch a fish with only his hands, which he wasn't able to accomplish. The dare resulted a lot of swearing and loud splashes from him and the fish. He was frantically swatting at the same fish for about ten minutes until we all gave up, even though it was hilarious.

I dared Alya to lay in Nino's arms bridal style as pay back for what she has done to me. The two friends both blushed as Nino took Alya in his arms, as Adrien and I were laughing at them.

It was finally Adrien's turn and I was scared. What if they dare him to do something that will result to me falling? A thing I wasn't looking forward too.

Okay, Adrien, truth or dare?" Nino asked.

"Dare" Adrien said below me.

"I dare you to run all the way to the changing room and back with Marinette still on your shoulders," he grinned.

"What?!" I yell, now more nervous then before.

I hear Adrien sigh and his head tilt upward to face me, I look at him back.

"Do you trust me?"

"W-what?"

"Do you trust me?" he repeats.

"Y-yes," I answer yet it sounds more like a question.

"Then hold on tight,"

I do as I was told, cradling his head against my body making my face heat up. Before I knew it, he started running in the water towards the shore, water spraying up from his movements.

Once he got on land, he started going faster which made me hang on to him tighter.

"You okay?" he asks, still running, his hands now firmly tight around my legs.

"Y-yeah," I say as I bob on his shoulders.

It felt like a roller coaster, but worse, I don't have any seat belts to hold me in tight, instead I have Adrien's arms and reassuring words.

"It's alright, Mari. Almost there,"

To be honest, it felt good to have him running with me on his shoulders. Somehow I feel protected, like he would never let me fall. But that didn't change how scared it was.

"I got you, Mari. Don't worry," He said.

I hold him tighter, not because I was scared, but because I liked his warmth. He was soothing even though I felt like I was bull riding.

Finally he got to the changing room and steadily turned around.

"You still good?"

"Yeah. You?" I ask, surprised I wasn't stuttering.

"I'm good," I can feel his smile even though I couldn't see it.

I look forward to see Nino and Alya who were apparently following us. I was so focused that I didn't hear them running after us. Alya had her phone in her hand, filming us running.

"Oh, cheese," I mummer.

"You okay, Mari?"

Oh crap, he heard me! I thought.

"Y-yeah, it's just that, Alya is f-filming us,"

"She is?" he looked over to Alya who was running backwards, her phone's camera pointed at us two.

"Oh, cheese," he reused, making me laugh.

After about another two minutes of Adrien running with me laughing and bouncing on his shoulders. He finally made his way into the water, the clear liquid splashing every which way, until he stopped where we were before.

"You alright, Mari?"

"Yeah, thanks, I'm good,"

"That's good," he sighed, laughing.

I raised my brow until I started laughing along. It was such a rush, all the exhilaration finally caught up to us making each other laugh harder.

When our laughter finally calmed down, I realized that Adrien was not panting in the slightest bit, yet I was.

"How are you not tired?" I asked, not noticing that I didn't stutter.

He looked up at me, "You're not the only one who works out," he smirked, making me blush.

"That was awesome!" Alya called out from the shore. "Come over here, I have to show you the footage," she waved us over and we obeyed.

Adrien took the phone from Alya, bring it up so we both could see, then pressed play.

The footage was shaky since Alya had to catch up with Adrien. You could see me cradling his head, a terrified look on my face as Adrien turned a bit. Adrien had a smirk unlike me, and he looked somewhat devoted to the dare.

Every now and then his face would turn to worry and his lips would move, then my lips will respond and his frown would turn into a smile.

There suddenly was a blur on the phone's screen caused by the light, so I lay my chin on Adrien's head, his hair tickling my face.I can feel him tense up under the connection, but I let it slide.

When it came to the part were we turned around and I said oh, cheese, I giggled softly as Adrien looked over to Alya and re-said what I thought he didn't hear in the first place. Adrien chuckled along with me, his tension gone and now shaking in laughter. We watched as past us were laughing in hysterics, standing in the ocean. I can feel my face burn red.

"Let's keep playing," Adrien suggests.

We all nod in agreement.

****

This time we stayed on the sand to play the rest of the game. Not long after we started playing Adrien's dare, Nino reminded us that I could get off Adrien since it was now my turn.

I was disappointed when Adrien helped me get off by kneeling on the sand. I really enjoyed being on his shoulders.

One: because I liked being close to him.

Two: because I was tall for once.

The perfect thirty minutes of my life with him.

When I got off, Adrirn rolled his neck, earning a cringe worthy crack that made everyone grimace.

"You okay? I didn't hurt you?" I asked worriedly.

He smiled sweetly back at me "I'm perfect, Mari. Not even sore,"

I smiled, he can be so reassuring that sometimes it was hard to tell if he was lying or not, but this time he was telling the truth. She could tell.

Now we're sitting in a crescent on the beige sand, looking out to the horizon, admiring the beautiful sunset. I was sitting next to Adrien and Alya, who was next to Nino.

"Adrien, truth or dare?" Nino asked.

Adrien thought for a moment, before picking dare.

"I dare you to take off your shirt,"

I watched as his eyes widened.

"What?! But...Nino!"

"Nope," Nino shook his head, " No if, ands, or buts. I know that you're hiding something, and I'm going to find out,"

"Since when were you peeking your nose in people's privacy?" Adrien asked, obviously trying to stall.

"Since, Alya," Nino replied,"Now take off that shirt!"

"That's a comment I never thought I'd hear," Alya whispered in my ear, making me giggle.

"But-"

"No. Adrien, please, take your shirt off," Nino pleaded mustering up puppy dog eyes.

Adrien's eyes grew as he stared at Nino. A minute later and Adrien finally broke, letting out a long sigh.

"Fine, but promise me you won't freak out,"

We all nodded eagerly. So there was something wrong, I thought he was just over exaggerating. I leaned forward, wanting to know his secret.

Adrien hesitated for a moment before standing up and slipping his shirt off, dropping it on the ground.

We all gasp. Adrien had a huge scar that started from the left side of his chest, down diagonally to the right, ending at the beginning of his stomach.

A smaller scar was formed on his right shoulder, ending below his collarbone. Another one was formed from his left side of his hip bone, across his four pack, hitting only two. Little scars surrounded the bigger ones, fresh bruises on his sides.

I lifted my hands up to my mouth, taking in all the scars on his light skin. Tears threatening to come out.

It reminded me of someone, he had a huge gash of blood across his chest. She tried to help him, too bring him to someone who can fix him, but he dismissed all my reasonings and before I could do anything, he was gone.

He would be thrown against anything imaginable, partly my fault, he saved me ever single time, but once. The cut was probably as big as ruler, eventually healing, leaving no scar behind, since it was barley grazed. Yet he still vowed that he wouldn't let anyone hurt me again, so he did.

"Dude, what happened to you!," Nino said, standing up along with Alya, who helped me stand as well.

"You promised you wouldn't freak out," Adrien said nervously.

"We didn't expect for it to be that!" Alya practically yelled, gesturing to his damaged body.

Adrien looked down in shame, taking a step back. If I'm correct, then that would mean...

I slowly walk up to him, my eyes not leaving his scars.

"Mari?"

I ignore him, gently placing my hand on his shoulder, pulling on him so he would turn.

I gasped, So I was right.

On his back, was a huge scar that started from the left side, right below his neck, a perfect straight line, down to he end of his spine.

He got it during an akuma attack. The man worked at a pirate themed restaurant, but no one was coming and the government wanted to shut it down. He called himself Blonde Beard.

Before I could warn him, I watched from afar as Blonde Beard sliced his way into her partner with a sward, Chat's terrified scream engulfing the air.

I had nightmares about it for a week, his screams constantly echoing through my mind. I wasn't able to concentrate on anything, only the scene that had laid out before me. The scene that I couldn't stop.

I clasped my hands over my mouth again, letting out a gasp. I can feel hot tears trickle down my cheek.

"No," I whisper.

I firmly grab his shoulder, swinging him around to face me. Worry quickly turning into anger. His eyes widened at the sight of my expression.

"You told me you were fine!" I yelled in his face, tears still rushing down.

"Wha-"

"You told me it was only a graze!" I shoved my finger at his chest, glaring into his emerald eyes.

"AND I ACTUALLY FELL FOR IT!!" I could barley see through the waterfall of tears.

"I KNEW YOU WERE LYING, YET I STILL LET YOU GO!!" I gabbed my finger at him again. At this rate I was sobbing, I couldn't control my emotions anymore. Every feeling came rushing in like a wave.

"YOU COULD'VE.......you could've told me," I calm down, shaking at the memories. I was panting hard now, I moved my hand that was gabbing into his skin onto his shoulder.

"I could've helped you," I whisper, moving my gaze away from his eyes onto his chest.

"I just wanted you to be okay, kitty," My voice now was lower then a whisper, ignoring the fact that I called him by his nickname.

A firm hand cupped my chin, lifting my head up to face him. My blue eyes caught his green, a serious expression on his face, before it turned into a smile. With his other hand, he wiped away all of the standard tears that were still falling.

"Shh," he whispered, "As long as you are safe, princess, I'm the happiest cat in the world. You understand?"

I hesitated, before shaking my head no.
His smile stayed on as he swept my bangs out of my eyes.

"I wouldn't be able to live with myself if you were hurt, m'lady. And I'm sorry for causing you pain with your worry,"He explained, now frowning.

"That was exactly what I was trying to avoid, yet I still brought it upon you."

"I blame my bad luck," He chuckled, trying to lighten the mood.

Even though I wanted to laugh with him, I just couldn't bring myself to.

"How do you take care of them?"

"The Internet and Kwami," he said the last part in a whisper so only I could hear.

I raise a brow, "That's it?"

"Well, the three big ones I went to master Fu for help,"

"Oh, thank cheese," I sighed in relief.

He chuckled.

"So you're sure you are okay?" I asked.

"I'm paw-sitive, m'lady,"

I roll my eyes, but smiled nonetheless.

"There's that purrfect smile I love,"

"I'm feline like watching the sun set. You?"

"That would be cat-tastic, kitty.

"Ah ha! So it takes me to tell you who I am, to get you to make a cat pun, huh?"
He smirked.

"But you didn't tell me, I figured it out," I wink.

"Tomato, catato,"

"What?" I asked.

"You know, like tomato potato?"

"Yeah, I know. It's just that, how could a handsome guy like you make such stupid puns?" I smirked.

"Handsome, huh?" He leaned in towards me.

"Shut it kitty, or I'll have to take out the spray bottle," she teased.

"That's were you are wrong, m'lady, I actually like water," He leaned his head toward me, snaking his arm around my waist, pulling me closer to him.

I gab him in his side, earning a Yelp from the cat.

"Mewoch, you wound me, m'lady," putting his free hand over his heart.

"Good, don't want you to get even more cocky,"

Adrien chuckled, his face inches from mine. I looked down to his lip, and looked back up to meet his emerald gaze.

He closed the distance between our lips. It was polite, like he didn't want to hurt her. The kiss barley lasted ten seconds, but it was the best one yet.

I just kissed Adrien Agreste, who also is Chat Noir. Officially the best day of my life!

We leaned our foreheads together, taking in every breath each other takes.

I just realized that we were so caught up in the moment, that we both totally forgot two people. Alya and Nino, who were standing still as a rock, first confused then changed to extreme shock. Oh no.

"WHAT?!!!" Alya and Nino screamed in unison.

We both look their way, chuckling nervously.

"so-" I start, but got interrupted by Alya.

"MARINETTE DUPAIN-CHENG AND ADRIEN AGRESTE, YOU TWO HAVE SOME EXPLAINING TO DO!!!!"
