Marinette POV:

It was after school and Marinette was lying on her best friend Alya's bed.

"So are you going to tell me why you weren't in class this morning?" Marinette questioned.

Alya shook her head, avoiding Marinette’s question as she typed furiously on her computer. She didn’t want to hurt her best friend. Mari had been through enough lately. This would break her even more.

"Alya I know you're hiding something from me so just tell me please" Marinette said with a sigh. The dark-haired girl had been friends with the brunette for long enough to know when her best friend was trying to keep a secret.

"Did something happen between you and Nino?" Marinette asked tentatively. She knew that her and Nino were perfectly fine, but with Alya it was best to figure the problem out by eliminating the other possibilities.

"No Marinette, me and Nino are fine. Anyway I'm the one that should be questioning you. How are you doing with the whole k-word thing?" Alya asked with a slight smirk on her face.

"K-word?" Marinette questioned, her brain puzzling around Alya's new creation.
 
“You know who Mari, that no good little….Alya mumbled angrily under her breath

"Lila?" Marinette wondered. Marinette then began a rant about how awful Lila had been.

"Marinette have you ever considered hating someone that's not Lila" Alya exclaimed.

"Chloe?" Marinette suggested.

The two girls then began to talk about the various terrible things Chloe had done. They were halfway through talking about a particularly hilarious time when Chloe had got gum on her jacket when Marinette's phone beeped.

Marinette reached for her phone and realized that someone had been akumatized.

Oh no! She had to think of another excuse to tell Alya so she could quickly transform into Ladybug and save Paris.

"I'm really sorry Alya... but that was my parents I have to deliver my parents...I mean a cake right now” she said, racing towards the door not before stumbling over the bed and edge of the carpet.

"Bye  Alya, I had a really good time," she called behind her.

"Girl you forgot your bag… Marinette where did you go!" Alya shouted after the clumsy girl. That girl with her crazy excuses she thought laughing to herself.

Once she was outside the house, Marinette looked around for a place to transform.

Slipping into a dark alley, she transformed into Ladybug.

Now to find the Akuma, she thought to herself, determined to win the battle and keep her city safe.

Swinging her yo-yo, she got to the scene of the akuma, which happened to be the school.

She looked around, taking in her surroundings. The school seemed to be covered in piles of trash, which the akumatized person seemed to be shooting from his left hand.

She watched as he created another trash pile, and began to wonder where the Akuma was.

The supervillain walked over to Chloe, who had been hiding behind a desk.

"YOU THINK YOU CAN HIDE FROM ME?" He boomed.

Chloe looked terrified and began screaming for someone to save her. Ladybug watched as he knighted Chloe with his mop.

Chloe suddenly began to clean, and Ladybug realized that the Akuma was in his mop.

She called Chat Noir's voicemail. Why wasn’t he here? Where was he? She couldn’t fight this battle on her own.

Adrien POV:

Adrien was finally beginning to enjoy himself as he battled in a fencing match against his friend Kagami… no he meant girlfriend, Kagami. Why couldn’t he get it right?

They laughed as he swiftly dogged her quick attack.

“You can’t touch me fair lady, you have to be faster than that” Adrien teased as Kagami grinned, “you're going to regret saying that” she said as their swords clashed.

Kagami spun around Adrien, while he was distracted by her first attack and quickly knocked Adrien’s blade out of his hand while aiming her blade right into his protected chest.

“Touche” Adrien chuckled while taking off his helmet to reveal his mop of sweaty  blonde locks and reaching out to shake Kagami’s hand.

Before they could shake hands though Adrien heard a scream of fear echo from the distance, that made him freeze in sheer panic in his spot.

His ears immediately became alert as a bolt of fear struck through him. He knew that voice from anywhere. How could he ever forget it. That was his lady.

Quickly he ran to transform but he felt Kagami grab his arm before he could run off.  "Where are you going?" She asked annoyed.

"I'm I'm…" quick think of an excuse, he thought racking his brain.

"You're what!" Kagami snapped impatiently. "Why won't you tell me why you are so eager to leave? I thought we were enjoying our date."

Kagami said those last words so simply yet Adrien's mind still struggled to wrap around them. Kagami was his girlfriend and when people who are dating hangout it's called a date. It was a simple concept, which is why Adrien was confused to how wrong it felt.

"Adrien what are you thinking about" snapped Kagami.

"I'm sorry Kagami I have to go" Adrien said before bolting out the door and into one of the bathroom stalls.

"I've got to help Ladybug" Adrien told plagg.

"I thought we were over her" Plagg complained.

"I am over her" Adrien told Plagg, even if it wasn’t the full truth. Even though he was lying to himself.

"Sure you are '' said Plagg unconvinced, before he was sucked into Adrien's ring.

Ladybug POV:

Ladybug was growing impatient, where was that cat! She had left him 11 voicemails and he still hadn't arrived.

She was growing weak as the super-villain, Garboman was harder to deal with than she expected.

She needed Cat Noir by her side, they were a team. She couldn’t defeat Garboman alone.

"CLEAN UP THAT BUG" Garboman bellowed, and the people he'd possesed ran towards Ladybug, their brooms at the ready.

"I thought I tied you up" ladybug groaned and proceeded to deal with them.

She tricked them into a classroom and barricaded the door. "Stay in there" she cried, before turning her attention back to Garboman.

"Where is that cat!?" she thought again and then suddenly she had been buried under a pile of reeking garbage.

She tried to crawl her way out but she was exhausted. She then heard a faint cry of "grab her miraculous" and realized she needed a smarter plan.

She began to call Chat Noir for what felt like the hundredth time but still the call rang endlessly and finally went to voicemail. So without any other option or way out she accepted that there was nothing more she could do.

She didn't have anymore plans. The best she could do was wriggle her way out of the garbage pile. Exhaustion woar over her though and everything felt helpless.

She let the feeling take over her and stopped fighting to get out, there was no use, she was too tired.

One second she was lying in the reeking trash and the next she was grasped in Garbomans arms. She tried to wriggle out of his grip but he was too strong and she was too weak. Giving up she felt his hand pulling on her earring and she screamed as he began to pull it out.

Then out of nowhere there was Chat Noir. He attacked Garboman and she fell in the safety of his arms and was whisked off, away from Garboman’s clutches.

"I'm here m'lady" he whispered in her ear "I'm here.” Cat Noir repeated soothingly as he held her close to him.

"The akumas in his broom" she whispered to Chat Noir faintly once they had reached a safe hiding place.

"Ok so what's the plan m’lady" Chat Noir asked her, softly pulling her back to face him.

Not being able to resist himself he kissed her on the forehead and gently caressed her soft rosy cheek. She was so beautiful.

He felt guilt rip away at him. He wasn’t here when she needed him. But he was here now and he wasn’t going to let her face this all by herself. She had him.

"I don't have a plan" she admitted, looking at the ground.

"Well then I'll distract her while you use that brilliant mind of yours to come up with one" he said, looking at her with a smile. "You can do this Ladybug, I believe in you” he told her, and then ran off to attack Garboman.

Ladybug watched in confusion as he ran off, she didn't understand. How can he be so sweet now when last week he was telling her how he had moved on?

She shook her head, trying to get rid of her confused feelings. She had to come up with a plan to defeat Garboman.

"Lucky Charm" she cried, hoping that it would give her an idea.

A red spotted vacuum fell into Ladybug’s awaiting hands. What am I supposed to do with this she thought?

Chat Noir ran over to Ladybug, "do you have a plan Ladybug?" he asked, his usual teasing tone now monotone and flat. What happened? Focus Ladybug focus!

Ladybug looked around trying to come up with a solution. "I've got an idea" she said, and then whispered to him the plan.

"Hey Garboman" Ladybug called out, her usual confidence temporarily restored.

"WHAT DO YOU WANT YOU NASTY BUG" Garboman yelled.

"You want my Miraculous?" Ladybug said, gaining Garboman’s interest. "Come and get it!" She yelled, and then sprinted away.

Looking behind her she made sure that she had placed the vacuum in the correct position. Then she gave Chat Noir the signal.

"Cataclysm!" Chat cried, destroying the base of a pole. The pole tumbled down, tripping Garboman. The broom went flying out of his hand and the handle wedged itself in vacuum, just as she had planned.

Using her yo-yo she grabbed the broom and snapped it in half, freeing the Akuma. She cleansed the Akuma and realised it, before fixing all the damage

They had done it! Her and Chat had won! Ladybug smiled widely in relief and happiness! Once again they had saved Paris and defeated Hawkmoth together,  as a team.

"Pound it?" Ladybug said, sticking out her fist, but chat turned away.

"What's wrong kitty?" Ladybug asked, her voice full of concern. "I have to go, bye Ladybug" he said.

With that he vaulted away, leaving her with her fist awkwardly stuck out and her heart confused.
