Adrien POV:

"I have a new project that we'll be working on in class today," the teacher announced, causing the class to groan.

"It will be a partner project, which I will explain once you all know who you will be working with!" the teacher continued excitedly, causing the class to perk up.

"The partners have already been assigned." the teacher stated flatly, causing the class to groan once more.

“Now remember class to be respectful and kind to your partners, I don’t want to hear any complaining.” The teacher reprimanded strictly.

The teacher then listed off the partners. Adrien saw Alya and Nino high five behind him when they got partnered together. Kagami looked a bit disappointed when she didn't get partnered with him, but seemed happy she was with Lila.

Adrien looked worriedly over at her hoping  that Kagami hadn't fallen for her lies, and that Lila didn't hurt her in any way. He did not feel like giving Lila yet another warning.

Adrien wanted to believe that Lila was a good person, but each day it seemed less likely.

"Adrien and Marinette, Mylene and Rose…"

Adrien was to worried that he almost missed his name being called by the teacher. He smiled, Marinette was a great person to work with, he knew from experience.

He was glad he got partnered with someone who would actually do the work, rather than slack off.

"That's all the partners, now I will explain the project and then you can get started"

The teacher the. explained the project, “So class for this project, you will each be composing a minimum of 3 entries to each other. You will be taking on the roles of fictional characters from famous works of literature, for example like Romeo and Juliet or... the whale from moby dick and the captain of the ship crew.” The class laughed at this.

"So can we do Ladybug and Chat Noir?" Alya called out.

"What about Jagged Stone and Clara Nightingale?" Rose asked.

“Well...they aren’t exactly literary duo’s…”

“Please miss Bustier” Alya begged.

"Well, if you show it to me first, fine!"

you really want you to dive into who these characters are and explore their personalities. For example how would they act, write, and feel while composing these entries. First you will pick a literary duo and then tell me who you decided to do and I will make sure it’s okay. I really want you to get to know not only the characters in the literary piece you choose but your partner as well.

"Can I do Ladybug and Chat Noir too?" Chloe asked.

"Well…"

"Me too!" Nathaniel said.

"What if we all do Ladybug and Chat Noir!" Rose said excitedly.

"But they're not a literature duo!" The teacher said.

“My father, won’t be too happy to hear that Ms….” Chole taunted as she reached out to grasp her phone.

"Fine! I'm changing the project. You will all write letters from Ladybug and Chat Noir's point of view. Then, at the end, we will compare them all." The teacher caved.

The class cheered excitedly as busy chatter buzzed around the vibrant room.

"So, Marinette, we should probably get started right? Adrien said, looking over and smiling softly at her.

"Yeah, do you want to do Ladybug or Chat Noir?" Marinette asked.

"I'll be Chat Noir, I don't think I'm smart enough to pretend to be Ladybug" Adrien said, causing Marinette to blush.

“Yeah...um sure...s-sounds good...so I guess I’ll be Ladybug.” Marinette said nervously, as she fiddled with her pink pencil.

He couldn’t help but chuckle softly at her, she was so adorable when she was shy...wait what! Stop it Adrien.

He quickly shook his head as he reached down to take out two crisp sheets of lined paper from his school bag.

He handed one to Marinette and wrote his name neatly at the top of the other one.

He heard a mumbled thank you from her as she tried to hid her flushed cheeks  behind her pigtails

"So do you want to brainstorm ideas or do research?" Marinette asked him.

"How about we just start with a rough draft and then edit them together?" Adrien said, before returning to the paper.

By the end of class, they had both completed the rough draft.

As the shrill sound of the school bell reverberated through the class, the students began to quickly pack up their supplies, anxious to get to their next class.

The teacher tried to yell out directions over the busy and excited chatter as Adrien tried to make out bits and pieces of what she was saying.

“Now...remember the project-....be quiet!…..Due Friday!

"So, do you want to work on the project after school?" Adrien asked over the chatter.

"Yeah sure, we can go over to my house." Marinette said, before waving goodbye and heading to her next class.

Adrien smiled and waved at her as she left, watching her leave with a dreamy expression on his face.

Kagami POV:

Kagami knew something was going on between Adrien and Marinette. Ever since Lila had mentioned it, she just started seeing more signs.

At first she thought it was preposterous but after just watching them talking and laughing animatedly to each other she knew that there was something between them.

She didn't believe the Marinette had gotten over Adrien so fast. Why else would the ice cream they'd gotten have such a striking resemblance to Adrien?

Why did Adrien always look at Marinette like she was his everything if he didn't have feelings for her?

Lila had been right all along. How had she not seen it before.

Kagami would have been fine with all this if it weren't for the fact that Adrien and Marinette were dating other people. Sure, she would have been upset by the fact that Adrien didn't like her, but she would've gotten over it, been happy for her friend.

But this was just wrong. Even with her lack of social upbringing, she still knew this.

She watched as they worked on their project together. She watched as Adrien said something, causing her to giggle.

She felt a raging fire burn slowly in the pit of her stomach as it rapidly grew, consuming her,soon  the bitter sting of betrayal leaving her numb. She told herself that she was fine, that she was probably assuming the worst.

"I'm so sorry Kagami," said Lila beside her. "It's not really Adrien's fault though, it's Marinette. See, I didn't want to tell you this because she was getting better, but Marinette is like the world's biggest liar" the brunette told her.

Kagami felt her anger grow. She pushed it down. She could handle it.

She made it through the whole class. She focused on her work, tuning out Lila's chatter.

But when she saw the look Adrien gave Marinette at the end of class, the way he didn't even notice her approaching him, she snapped.

She didn't even notice the butterfly fluttering dangerously close to her.

Marinette POV:

Marienette couldn’t focus on her schoolwork all day. She fidgeted with her pencil relentlessly as the teacher drowned on, her stomach was in knots and she could feel her nerves consuming her every waking thought. She was meeting Adrien. Adrien was coming over to her house.

It feels like ages ago since he had come over last to practice with her for the video game tournament. She shouldn’t feel nervous; she scolded herself, he was just a friend anyway, but her heart betrayed her as it beated rapidly.

Marienette was suddenly startled from her inner turmoil as the shrill sound of the school bell reverberated in the class, signaling the end of school. Marinette shakily grasped her school bag and waved goodbye to Alya. She couldn't help but stumble over her feet as they dragged her to the front of the school to meet...him. 

Mariennete hesitantly pushed the front door of the school open and looked away from her shaky legs to see Adrien chatting lively to Nino. His golden hair glowed like a halo around his head  in the rays of the bright sun and his emerald eyes were crinkled softly in amusement, as he let out an animated chuckle.

He was soooo beau...what!? Mariennte snapped herself out of her thoughts suddenly realizing how wrong what she was thinking was.

Marinette… you have a boyfriend… that is supposed to help you get over Chat Noir… who you are in love with… you don't have room in your boy schedule to be crushing on Adrien. She told herself. Mariennte groaned inwardly at how complicated her “love life” had become.

She met up with Adrien who gave her a light smile as he fist bumped Nino goodbye, and went to go walk along beside her.  They walked together to her house, Marinette fighting a silent battle between logic and her heart the entire way there.

Once they arrived Marinette grabbed a plate of croissants and said hello to her parents who looked at each and back to Marinate mischievously. With the spark of amusement in their eyes Mariennete quickly rushed to lead Adrien up to her bedroom.

They had barely sat down when a loud crash could be heard as an akuma entered Marinette's bedroom through the window.

"I am Truth Stealer and I will expose you for what you are Marinette Dupain-Cheng!" Truth Stealer yelled.

"What I am? What do you mean what I am?" Marinette inquired, slightly annoyed at the Akuma's accusing tone. She looked over to see Adrien who looked completely shell shocked as he gaped at Truth Stealer.

"You are a no good liar that cheats with other people's boyfriend!" Truth Stealer screamed in rage.

"What! Me! I'm not a liar! And I'm NOT a cheater either" Marinette huffed.

"Watch out Marinette, you're making her angry" Adrien warned, eyeing Truth Stealer warrily.

"I thought you were better than this Adrien! Falling for her lies. Can't you see she's manipulating you!" The Akuma screamed.

"Kagami,” Adrien mumbled in disbelief, before a look of concern and confusion crossed his features.

"Excuse me! I'm not manipulating anyone!" Marinette yelled, which, in hindsight, wasn't a very good idea.

“Kagami,” Adrien spoke up, “We didn’t do anything, I-i would never cheat on you, Marinette’s  just a friend and she's not a liar.” Adrien tried to plead with her.

Mariennte felt a sting sensation in her chest, but chose to push it down and focus on her friend. What was going on? why was Kagami acting this way?

The akuma turned to face Marinette. "No Adrien. She's a liar. But she won't be lying anymore!" Truth Stealer cried, a red bean shooting out from a pin on her jacket.

"From now on, she'll only tell the truth!" Truth Stealer yelled.

"Marinette made a little squeak noise, but didn't do anything else."

"Now tell me that you didn't cheat Luka with Adrien!" The akuma roared, before leaving to go wreck havoc elsewhere.

"I didn't cheat on anyone! I don't even like Adrien anymore, I'm in love with Ch-" Marinette said, but was cut off by Adrien's hand clapping over her mouth.

He slowly removed the hand from Marinette's mouth.

She couldn’t bring herself to look Adrien in the eyes, afraid of how he would react. All the time she had spent when crushing on him she dreamed of how she would reveal her feelings, and this was not how it was supposed to go. At all.

She stared down at her feet, finding them suddenly fascinating as her cheeks burning a deep red. She could feel Adrien’s burning stare, it felt like they sat there for an eternity, until he finally  leaned closer and she heard his soft voice at the shell of her ear, “We need to get out of here,” he whispered. She couldn’t decipher his tone and she felt anxiety rip away at her.

"No I need to get away from everyone else so I can stop the Akuma!" Marinette said.

"No, you need to get to safety! Just because this Akuma seems to have something against you doesn't mean you can stop it!"

"You're really cute when you're overprotective oh GOD did I just say that out loud I just said that out loud and I'm rambling but I said it out lou-" Marinette rambled, before Adrien put his hand over her mouth again, in case she said anything else embarrassing.

She must have been imaging the flush of pink that coated his cheeks as it was gone as soon as she had spotted it. She had to be imagining it.

"Marinette, I'm going to find us places to hide, but we're going to hide separately so you don't confess any secrets okay?" Adrien told her.

Marinette nodded.

Adrien found a closet in her house for her to hide in. Before he ran off he stopped and slowly turned back, his mouth open. An earnest, beautiful expression on his face. It looked like he was going to say something, before he could he suddenly shook his head, putting on a mask. “stay safe okay?”and then he was gone. Like he was never there.

  As soon as he'd left she transformed and headed off to fight the Akuma.

Adrien POV:

Adrien's mind was a mess. Half of it was trying to be rational, trying to find a place to transform and thinking of how to defeat the akuma. How to bring back Kagami.

But it was hard to be rational when the other half of your brain is consumed by a certain girl,  screaming MARINETTE USED TO LIKE YOU YOU IDIOT. He had never felt so torn in his life.

He didn't know what he was supposed to feel upon finding out that kind, sweet, Marinette who was possibly more than a friend used to like him.

He was overwhelmed by shock as Adrien began to experience this weird feeling that took over in the pit of his stomach.

Used to… that seemed to be the catch. Marinette used to have a crush on him, but now she had moved on to someone else. Someone less blind who would probably treat her better than he could have.

Luka, he thought bitterly, trying to fight back the wave of jealousy and resentment. Of course Marinette didn't like him anymore, she had a boyfriend.

Adrien didn't know what he was thinking, they could never be together. He had a girlfriend, who was currently akumatized, and he needed to help Ladybug.

“Okay” he said shaking his head and running his hands through his styled hair. Adrien looked around rapidly trying to find a secret place to transform.

He then spotted a vacant port a potty and ran inside, slamming  the door behind him.

Adrien transformed and he felt his demeanour change. He was Cat Noir not Adrien right now, and Cat Noir needed to help Ladybug and save the day.

Chat Noir quickly located the akuma, who Ladybug was alright fighting.

"Hey Bug, need some help?" he said in a playful tone, jumping into the battle.

"Yeah, how the heck am I supposed to deal with the fact that my old crush knows about my feelings" Ladybug said frustratedly.

"I was referring to the Akuma, but that does seem like a bit of an unfurrtunate situation" Adrien said, before realizing something.

"Hey, what happened to the no personal lives thing?" Chat Noir questioned, furrowing his brow while dodging an attack from Truth Stealer.

Ladybug let out a groan before responding. "The no personal lives thing still applies, it's just that apparently Akuma's now have the power to make you say a ton of embarrassing stuff whether you like it or not" she said, temper rising.

Cat Noir let out a laugh at Ladybug's bluntness.
“Oh buga—ladybug this really is a CATastrophe.”

"And excuse me, but there's a difference between not lying and having absolutely no filter!" Ladybug screamed again, still ranting about the Akuma.

“We should probably create a plan so you don’t accidentally reveal your identity,” Cat Noir said, amusement twinkling in his sparkling green eyes.

"Well it's hard to make a plan when this god-damn Akuma won't stop attacking me" Ladybug muttered under her breath.

"Shall we take a detour then?" Chat Noir said with a knowing grin on his face.

He didn't wait for the spotted heroines response before calling for cataclysm and using it on the ground, dropping them both into the sewers.

"Why is it that we always end up in the sewers. Can't they at least smell better" Adrien heard Ladybug groan from behind him.

Cat Noir laughed at her blunt statement, “Come on let’s get a move on bug so we can get out of this un-furr-tunate situation,” He said goofily bowing and reaching his hand out to hers.”

“You have to stop with the puns. They're terrible and I hate the fact that I love them." Ladybug said, before realizing what she had just admitted and covering her mouth.

Cat Noir eyebrows raised in shock as his heart began to thrum furiously. He felt his cheeks heat up and the strange feeling he felt in the pit of his stomach earlier began to resurface.

Ladybug let out a furious scream, then muttered something about doing something very violent to Hawkmoth.

Chat Noir chuckled. "So you think my puns are pawsitivly furrtastic bugaboo?”  Chat Noir only after realized that the endearment he had once called Ladybug had slipped out.

“You called me bugaboo, you haven’t in so long, I missed it.”

The butterflies in chat’s stomach began to flutter so fast and he thought his heart was going to burst.

Wait he couldn’t let Ladybug realize how he felt. He couldn’t ruin their friendship. He couldn’t lose her.

"Awwe you heard it folks, Ladybug loooves pet names" Chat Noir teased.

"Only from you, otherwise they're terrible." Ladybug said, realized what she'd said, and turned redder than a tomato.

Chat Noir was positive that Ladybug was trying to break him. He was done for. Ladybug was going to kill him because who had given her the right to look so god-damn cute while blushing.

Ladybug blushed more furiously, tucking midnight hair behind her ears. She started right into his eyes, before quickly looking away as Chat Noir could just stand their with his mouth gaping open.

He tried to speak, but nothing came out. He always had a goofy retort. But all his mind could focus on was the smart, beautiful, and amazing girl standing right in front of him.

His heart called for her and his thoughts were a mess, because only one word echoed in his mind, coursed through his soul, and pounded in his heart.

Ladybug.

"Kill me now!" Ladybug groaned, breaking the silence and dramatically flopping against a stone support.

With Ladybug’s response, he suddenly awoke from his trance. They had a mission to do. His feelings couldn’t get in the way.

"Ladybug, we need to defeat the akuma" Chat gently reminded.

"Fine. Go fuel up your kwami, we'll probably need another cataclysm." Ladybug said.

Adrien simply nodded and went behind a stone wall and fed Plagg before transforming again.

"Ready to go Ladybug?" He asked.

"Let's get this over with so I can finish my homework at a reasonable hour for once." Ladybug said.

Chat smiled at her response. “You know maybe this telling the truth thing isn’t so bad, huh bugaboo” he said teasingly.

Ladybug looked at him blankly, but he swore he saw the hint of a smile curving on her perfect lips.

“No more jokes for you kitty, come on Paris needs us.”

The two of them exited the sewers, and found Truth Stealer. They then began to fight Truth Stealer again (with many sarcastic remarks from Ladybug).

Luckily, the battle was short, meaning that Ladybug didn't have to suffer through that much embarrassment.

Truth Stealer was returned back to Kagami with a small spotted chess set and a well-timed cataclysm.

Kagami looked around in confusion and got up from her knees.

"Pound it!" The two of them chorused, before they both split up. Ladybug's transformation was about to wear off, so she left, leaving Chat Noir to explain everything to Kagami.

Adrien gave her a brief explanation and taking her back home. before quickly transforming and going to find Marinette to make sure she was okay.

He found her sitting at her desk, working on the project.

"So… about the akuma" Adrien said, bringing up the awkward topic. Rubbing the back of his head, while staring down at the ground.

"Yeah… uh… can we just forget all of that? It's in the past and it doesn't change anything so let's just… um… pretend it never happened okay?" Marinette rambled.

Adrien felt his heart sink a little, but he resisted giving in to his disappointment. He had a girlfriend.

"Yeah, okay. We’re still friends right?" Adrien said, trying to keep the panic out of his voice.

"Of course we're friends! Good friends! Great friends even! But just friends! Not anything other than good old platonic friendship!" Marinette stammered.

"Yeah… just friends" Adrien smiled, feeling relieved but also a little... rejected?

“Yeah..um...for sure...pal!” Marinette said flustered as she suddenly reached out to fist bump his shoulder.

"Well, I'm glad to be just friends then" Adrien smiled, though he was sure how authentic it was.

"Just friends" replied Marinette happily, beaming at him.

“Yeah,” Adrien said his voice filled with a hint of sadness. He couldn’t help but wish to be something more than just friends though.

Wow, this one is a long chapter! And there's a Kagami POV! Do you think there should be more POV's of other characters or should it just be Adrien and Marinette?
I'm becoming one of those long authors notes people aren't I?
