A Bit Territorial (Chat Noir x Reader)

To say that you valued your territory was a huge understatement.

You had several signs on your door back in your old house warning that anyone who trespassed into your room would soon be in the hospital or in jail. Those who needed to enter scheduled their appointments. Your bedroom was your sanctuary, your palace, your fortress.

When you moved to Paris after your parents divorced, it was no different, and your mom respected that. The divorce wasn't necessarily hard on you - you and your dad hated each other anyways - but your room stayed your territory. However, in Paris, with you having a bit more money with your mom's new job... you got to add a few toys to your collection.

First? An alarm just for your room, accompanied by a little siren hanging from your ceiling that blared whenever somebody entered. To disable it, you needed to enter the code into the numerical keypad. It was your pride and joy, especially since you got to install it.

Your third day of school was when you snapped, right after class as your classmates were filing out of the room. Chloe had decided to play a little prank on you, by invading your desk and checking out the contents. You were furious, especially since most of your desk contents were Chat Noir merch that you had invested in.

To say that you liked cats was also an understatement. You were obsessed with them. On your wall, everything to do with cats was hanging in poster form, including Chat Noir. You had snapped picture of him in action and put them in your desk to look at whenever you were feeling down, and now that was all out in the open, thanks to Chloe.

"Put it down, Chloe." You warned, taking a step forward.

She didn't react, shrugging her shoulders and smirking. "I bet you have a crush on Chat Noir," she sang loudly, smirking at Sabrina.

"Yeah, (Y/N)." Sabrina followed her lead. "He wouldn't notice you if you were the last girl in Paris!"

"Being best friends with Ladybug," Chloe bragged, "I can assure you that she'd be delighted to know about this dedicated fangirl of her partner! Oh, and let's not forget... the whole school must know about this!" She began snapping pictures with her phone.

Acting in one swift motion as the remainders of the class watched, you grabbed her phone and slammed it on the floor with such force that it shattered. You grabbed your stuff and waltzed home, completely satisfied. Hawkmoth didn't get a chance to akumatize you; you had already gotten your revenge. You didn't bide your time, you acted. It was a personality trait that you took pride in.

You barreled down the door of your home, giving your mother a quick kiss on her cheek before taking the stairs two at a time to enter your room. You'd had a great day at school, as far as you were concerned. Chloe could rat all she wanted to her dad, you had gotten your revenge on her for embarrassing you in front of the remaining class - Marinette Dupain-Cheng, whose head was buried in her arms as Adrien tried for the life of him to figure out what was wrong with her - gods, those two were so blind - and Alya, who was talking for her red-faced best friend. You remembered how the model had given you a thumbs up as you dramatically exited with Chloe wailing behind you; you had given him a wink as you passed.

You twirled into your room, throwing your bag onto your bed before turning around and disarming your alarm, your pride and joy. Today was wonderful.

"Ah, that's what the code was. I was wondering."

You flailed about as you turned too quickly, the sunlight from the window barely outlining the male figure that sat on your bed, his head tilted as he gazed at you, quite calm even though he had intruded on your palace. Who did he think he was?

You turned on your light to see better, squinting as the lightbulb illuminated your favorite superhero of Paris just sitting on your bed, looking quite amused at your expression.

You uttered some curses as you straightened your shirt and brushed your hair out of your mouth, which was unashamedly hanging open. You had lost all of your speech due to surprise, anger, and a sensation leaving you feeling weak in the knees.

"I see you're a fan of my work, (Y/N)." Chat Noir spoke, gesturing to the pictures and posters that had taken over your walls. "I must say, I'm purr-fectly flattered."

You flushed; the famous Chat Noir had graced you with one of his puns, which in your completely biased mind you found absolutely hilarious. You let loose a weak chuckle as you slowly sat down in your desk chair.

"Hi." You said, intimidated by the superhero's presence. "How'd you get in my room?"

"I noticed it was heavily secured." He winked. "I'm sure you know, (Y/N), that cats can be very sneaky and underhanded when we want to be."

You let out a small laugh as you twirled around in your chair, trying to get your mind off of the fact that Chat Noir was in your room.

"Why are you here?" You asked, fiddling mindlessly with your hands, doing anything you could with them.

"A friend of mine informed me that you were a fan." He smirked at me. "I always have to visit my fans."

He's here on an obligation, I realized. Not for personal gain.

"Well then," I clapped my hands, trying desperately to find courage where I had absolutely none. "Um, you're here. There's some room on my wall over there where you can autograph it, I have a pen here somewhere..." you searched before finally finding your favorite pen, a one that had previously been black but you had decorated with a rolled-up picture of Chat Noir and Ladybug. You were a huge fan of both of them, but Chat Noir stole your heart. Frankly, you were a bit scared of ladybugs.

"Thank you, M'Lady." Chat Noir winked at you again before crossing your bedroom and signing your wall with a big flourish. The moment his back was turned, you did a small happy dance that involved a lot of jumping around and flailing. If there was one thing you couldn't do it was dance, but nevertheless you had a happy dance and having Chat Noir in your bedroom was a perfectly good cause of fangirling. You felt that you were positively going to explode and you honestly didn't care.

"I see that you're happy to see me, (Y/N)." he noted, turning around with a smirk on his face.

You had paused your happy dance a second before he turned around, so you had no idea how he had noticed you. Then he gestured to the poster next to him, which acted like a mirror as the light hit it. You cursed under your breath... now he knew that you were a complete and utter mess.

"Quite." You returned, ignoring the fact that your breathing was quickened and you were sweating. "It's not all the time you get a superhero in your room." You grabbed a glass of water and downed it with a headache pill, which helped calm you down.

"That's true." Chat Noir nodded. "But then, I do seem quite blown away by your ability to take pictures. Are you training to be a professional?"

"I love taking pictures," you confessed. "All the time. My mom gets annoyed."

"I don't see why, (Y/N)." He raised a eyebrow. "But it does relieve me to see you getting a bit meow relaxed."

This time you could actually laugh, something that seemed to momentarily take him by surprise. "I also love your puns," you admitted, pulling a sketchbook out of your school bag. You had written down all of the akuma-puns that Chat Noir had made ever recorded, whether it be from the Ladyblog or from personal or eyewitness accounts.

"Why, (Y/N)," Chat Noir held eye contact with you. "You seem to be purr-fectly obsessed with me."

You blushed, your entire face heating up like a large tomato. "Um..."

"You have posters and pictures of me on your walls, sketches of me in your notebooks..." He smirked, causing me to back away a bit. "I do think you're paw-sitively in love with me."

"Get out of my room." I muttered.

"Whatever you say, Princess." He gave a slight bow. "It was a pleasure to meet you, (Y/N). I look forward to our next encounter." He paused. "I'll see you around, Princess." Jumping forward, he embraced you, with a quick kiss to the cheek. "Au revoir."

Then, you blinked, and the last thing you saw was a flash of his tail sailing outside your window. He winked at you, then he was gone.

You collapsed on your bed.

That was terrible. That just popped up into my head and I wrote it down. But wow, that was terrible. Even I can recognize the horribleness of that.
