„Marinette... Marinette, wake up!” a high-pitched voice spoke.

The teenage girl frowned and turned the other way.
„5 more minutes, Tikki...”

The red bug sighed and opened up her mouth to speak once more, but quickly hid herself when the trapdoor opened.
„Marinette, dear, wake up!” Sabine, Marinette’s mother, said.

Marinette sighed and slowly got up.

„Alright, mom..” she said, smiling at her mother.

Sabine smiled back and went downstairs, closing the trapdoor on her way.

Marinette yawned and stretched.

„What time is it?” she asked, rubbing her eyes.

Tikki flew out of her hiding place, grabbed Marinette’s phone and gave it to her.

A few seconds later, Marinette was literally running around her room. She quickly got changed, grabbed her bag and ran out. Tikki giggled from Marinette’s bag.

Marinette quickly kissed her mother and father on the cheek and ran out of the bakery.
„Bye, mom! Bye, papa!” she yelled.
„Have a nice day at school!” her parents yelled back, before going back to their own work.

„I’m late! I’m late! I’m soooo late!” Marinette told herself.

While running, she failed to notice where she was going, making her bump into her best friend, Alya.

„Where have you been, girl? You missed half day of school.” she laughed.

It took Marinette a whole minute to catch her breath, before replying.
„I’m sorry! I overslept... Again!” she smiled awkwardly.
„What are you doing all night?” she smirked, crossing her arms.
Marinette rubbed the back of her neck, while different moments of her saving Paris as Ladybug played in her mind.
„Oh, I see! Those pictures of Prince Charming must be very distracting.” 

Marinette blushed.

„Speaking of which, it’d be nice if someone helped you catch up. And since me and Nino will be pretty busy, maybe a certain blonde boy can help you.” Alya smiled.
Marinette looked at her bestie for a few seconds, until realization hit her.
„Oh, you want me to- to ask Adrien to g-give me the lessons I’ve m-missed?” Marinette stuttered.
Alya giggled.
„Oh, you don’t have to ask! I’ve got that covered.”

Just then, the famous model showed up with his best friend, Nino.
Marinette freaked out.
„Alya, don’t!” she whisper-yelled.
But it was too late.

„Hey, Adrien! I was wondering if you could help Marinette catch up on her school work. I would help her, but I have something important that I have to do with Nino.”
„Really?” Nino asked, confused.
Alya grabbed Nino’s hand and slightly glared at him.
„Yes, really!”
Adrien smiled warmly.
„Sure! Anything for a friend!”
Alya smiled back at Adrien and left with Nino behind her.
„Alright, thanks!”
„No problem!” Adrien replied.
Alya winked at Marinette and left.
Marinette looked at Alya and then turned to Adrien, internally freaking out with each step he took towards her.
„Shall we?”
Marinette gulped.
„S-Shall we w-what?”
„Go study. If that’s okay with you.” Adrien said.
„No, it isn’t- I mean is! Go- err, let’s go!” Marinette stuttered.
Adrien laughed. He gently grabbed Marinette’s hand and went to the library.

They both took a seat.
„So, what do you want to start with? French, maths or chemistry?”
„C-Chemistry?” Marinette asked, blushing.
„Yes. We didn’t do much today, surprisingly.” he said, not noticing Marinette’s face.

About 30 minutes later, Adrien noticed that Marinette didn’t really pay too much attention to the lesson, so he stopped.

„I think we should take a break.” he said, closing his notebook.
That seemed to snap Marinette out of her thoughts.
„You seem... a little bored of me talking about molecules.” he said, rubbing the back of his neck.
Marinette gasped.
„I’m so sorry! Your voice is beautiful- no, not that- I mean, not that it’s not, but- T-That’s not what I meant!!” she rambled.
Adrien smiled.
„So, what do you want to talk about?” he asked.
„Umm..”
Marinette looked around, trying to find something worth talking about. Books, more books...
„...Kagami...?”
„Oh. What about her?” Adrien asked, curiously.
Marinette quickly looked back at him.
„I, uhh... H-How have things been going on with you two?”
Adrien smiled warmly.
„We’ve got closer since we three hung out. She’s a really great person.”
Marinette got hurt by that.
„O-Oh. T-That’s.... great! I’m so happy for you!” she smiled weakly.
She stood up and grabbed her bag.
„Class is about to start soon... We should head back!” she spoke.
Adrien noticed his friend’s sudden change, but decided to stay quiet about it.
„Alright!”

Marinette’s been quiet for the rest of the day and whenever Alya tried talking to her, she just turned away and looked down.
At the end of the day, she quietly grabbed her stuff and went back home, ignoring her classmates.

She entered the bakery.

„Hey, sweetie! How was school?” Sabine asked.
„Pretty tiring. I’ll head to my room and rest.” Marinette said.
Sabine kissed her daughter’s forehead.
„Alright! If you need anything, we’re here.” she smiled.
„Okay!”

She went to her room and put her bag on the ground.
Tikki flew out of it and looked at her owner.
„Marinette...” Tikki worriedly looked at Marinette.
„Of course he likes Kagami. She’s pretty, she’s not clumsy like me and isn’t afraid to tell him how she feels. I’ll always be just a friend to him.”
Tikki flew in front of Marinette.
„They’re not dating. You can still show him how you feel.” Tikki tried to encourage her.
Marinette sighed.
„I can’t, Tikki!...Maybe I should just move on..” she said grabbing a picture of Adrien from the wall and looking at it.
„No, don’t say that-” Tikki tried to convince her, but Marinette did not listen.
She took off all the photos of Adrien that she had and threw them away.
„Maybe it’s for the best...” she sighed.
Tikki gave Marinette a sad look, but remained quiet.
