Alya the Superhero

Alya admired her kwami, Trixx. She still couldn't believe she was a superhero! It took her a while for it all to sink in. Now she could fight by Ladybug and Chat Noir's side.

"Do you think I'm ready to fight baddies?" Alya asked Trixx, raising her eyebrow. "I mean, I feel ready!"

"Woah," Trixx said, holding up her paws. She sat comfortably on the corner of Alya's bed. However, the tone in her voice made it sound like she would rather be someplace else. "Calm down. You don't want to get killed, do you?"

"No," Alya replied. "But I'm ready! I know I am. I've already had to wait a day."

"I mean, whatever," Trixx shrugged. "Hey, do you know any good places that wash and condition fur really well? Staying cooped up in a necklace for who knows how long really messes up the fur."

"Can we worry about that later, please?" Alya mumbled. "I have to make my grand appearance in Paris so everyone knows that I'm here to help."

Trixx seemed very unamused and cared much more about her hygiene than helping Alya. But, she gave in and sighed indignantly. "Fine. If you want to transform, just say the words, 'Trixx, tricks out.'"

Alya smiled brightly and clenched her fists in a heroic pose. "Trixx, tricks out!"

But nothing happened.

Trixx bursted out laughing and flopped on her back. "Oh, that was good!" she chuckled.

"Hey!" Alya groaned. "Why didn't anything happen?"

"Because I played a joke on you," the kwami replied.

Alya narrowed her eyes at her.

"What? My name is TRIXX for a reason."

"Okay, fine," Alya nodded, a slight smile tugging at the corner of her lips. "But for real, how do I transform?"

"Say, 'Trixx, paws out!'"

Alya paused hesitantly before saying the magical words. In an instant, an orange glow filled the air and a fox suit covered her head to toe. An orange mask perfectly covered her facial features and the fox ears sat perfectly atop her head. The traditional orange suit that once fitted Lila was now inexplicably on Alya. Her brown-red ombré hair fell just below her shoulders in large curls. Lastly, the magical flute manifested itself into her right hand.

"Sweet!" Alya exclaimed in happiness. "I'm a superhero! I can't wait to tell Nino, Marinette, and Adrien!"

She then stopped and remembered what her kwami had told her. Trixx had said that Alya could never tell anyone about her powers, not even her parents.

"But..." Alya mumbled, sitting on her bed. "I tell Marinette everything. I can't hide something like this from her."

Her eyes traveled up and scanned her bedroom. They landed on a poster that read, "Follow your heart," in big red letters. It was her luck. She never would've thought that a poster she had carelessly taped up would influence a decision of hers in such a big way.

"I'm going to tell Marinette," she declared out loud, standing up. "If she had a secret like this, I'm sure she would tell me too."

Alya glanced out the window. Marinette's house was only a few blocks away. She was sure she would be home so that she could tell her.

She opened up her window and climbed on the windowsill. She stared down from her second story room. Gulping, she raised the flute to her mouth and hoped that she could muster up an illusion that would allow her to fly. Trixx had told her that the illusions only last for 30 minutes, so if she wanted to fly somewhere, it would have to be in that time span. Marinette was definitely less than 30 minutes away, so she could manage.

She began blowing air into the flute and moved her fingers on the holes to recreate a melody. She had never taken flute lessons, so she was thoroughly surprised with how well it sounded.

Once she was done with the melody, she immediately felt herself get lighter and lighter. Her feet left the window sill and she banged her head on the top of the window.

"I'm floating!" she exclaimed, swimming her way out into the open air. She then looked down and screamed. As she was floating higher into the sky, the cars became smaller and smaller. She widened her eyes. "I can't do this! Help! I think I played the wrong melody or something! Trixx!"

At this rate, she would float into space. Her eyes frantically glanced towards a light pole and she reached out in an attempt to grab it. She grabbed ahold of the very top of the pole and latched on.

"Help!" she screamed, wrapping her legs around the pole. "Help, Trixx! I was wrong! I'm not ready!"

People walking on the sidewalks looked up in surprise. They gasped and pointed.

"Help! Call Ladybug! Call the police! Call someone!" Alya whimpered, feeling her grip loosen.

One woman jogged over, stood at the very bottom of the pole and looked up. "Slide down sweetie and I'll catch you!"

"Can't do that!" she yelled back. "This may sound hard to believe, but if I let go I'll be on a descent to space!"

A man waiting at a light rolled down his car window and chuckled. "You know you're not a real superhero, right kid? Take off the costume and go home!"

"Don't you think I'm trying!" Alya yelled backed in frustration. "And I am a real superhero! I'm just in a bad situation right now!"

Her legs began to slide off the pole and no matter how hard she tried, the magic kept pulling her towards the sky. "Come on! I just need to stay attached to this pole for 30 minutes and I'll be good!"

Her fingers began to peel off as well, and that's when she full on panicked. "HELP!!"

Ladybug swung in, landing on the ground beneath Alya. She raised an eyebrow, looking up at her. "What the? How'd you get up there?"

"Long story, just PLEASE help me before I fly into space!"

Ladybug was obviously confused; she thought it was just a cosplayer stuck at the top of the pole. She then recognized the ombré hair and gasped internally. Alya?!?!

"Help!!!" Alya yelled, her legs now flailing behind her as her fingers desperately clung to the pole.

"Coming!" Ladybug yelled, throwing her yoyo at the top of a nearby building and catapulting off that. She soared towards Alya and grabbed her successfully.

Ladybug set her down only for Alya to be floating towards the sky again. She quickly grabbed her hands and tugged her back towards the ground. This time, she didn't let go.

"What's going on?!" Ladybug asked incredulously.

"Sorry," Alya grinned. "I'm a superhero and this is my first time transformed."

Ladybug couldn't believe it. Alya was a superhero? No, that couldn't be the case. But then again, how else could she explain the weird occurrences? Hawkmoth definitely wasn't behind this one.

Perhaps Master Fu had bestowed the Fox Miraculous on Alya. But then that meant Alya was in even more danger since she had a Miraculous herself. Marinette couldn't survive if something horrible happened to her best friend.

"So could you just grab my shoulders and push me down while I play a spell on my flute so I can try to fix this mess?" Alya asked, interrupting Ladybug's thoughts.

"Uh, y-yeah," Ladybug nodded. She grabbed Alya's shoulders and used all of her force to keep her down. Meanwhile, Alya pulled out her flute and played a melody.

Instantly, the force fighting Ladybug had disappeared and when she let go of her shoulders, Alya didn't float off. She smiled in relief.

"I did it!" Alya exclaimed.

Ladybug was thoroughly surprised. Alya managed to fix the situation. Maybe she shouldn't be that worried after all? "Nice job," she nodded.

"So, yeah," Alya said, placing her flute into her belt, "I'm a new superhero and I'm looking forward to fighting by yours and Chat Noir's sides."

"Me... too," Ladybug replied with a smile. "Me too."
