Adrien in America
*so if you didn't know, it was announced at the miraculous SDCC panel today that a comic book is going to be released (among others) and one is going to be of adrien going to america! so this one-shot is my little take on it :) enjoy!
Plagg groaned annoyingly as he felt himself being lifted up from his resting place.
"What's the big idea..." the kwami mumbled, his eyes pinched shut.
"I told you we were going to America today," Adrien said, leaning over the bed and staring directly at the kwami. "We have to board a plane in a few hours, remember?"
"Can't I just stay here?" Plagg said quietly. "I'll be fine I promise..."
Adrien sighed, standing up. Then a smirk flashed across his face. "If I'm not here, who's going to supply you with Camembert?"
Plagg's eyes immediately snapped open. "They better have Camembert in America," he said, his voice dangerously low.
"I bet they will," Adrien chuckled. "If not, you can eat some other type of cheese. You're not exactly picky when it comes to cheese."
"Right you are," Plagg replied. He flew over to a table where he kept his precious cheese stash that Adrien frequently supplied. He picked up a chunk of cheese and threw it in his mouth, swallowing it whole. He moaned with contentment.
"That taste never gets old," Plagg sighed, breathing out the stinky fumes.
Adrien pinched his nose, his eyebrows furrowed. "But that smell does."

Adrien walked down the steps of his mansion, ready to greet the limousine that awaited him. His father was already seated inside, and so was Nathalie.
The Gorilla followed behind Adrien, hauling his suitcase down the stairs. Adrien insisted on helping his bodyguard, but the Gorilla refused.
Adrien made it to the limousine and opened the door, but his bodyguard was still having trouble getting down the steps with all of the luggage he was holding.
"Hurry up," Gabriel said impatiently from inside the limousine. "We have a flight to catch, you know. I have to meet with another very famous designer and this could make or break my business!"
Adrien's eyes flashed worriedly to the Gorilla, who looked stressed beyond belief. Between hauling loads of luggage on his back and being scolded by his boss, he was probably aggravated. Adrien needed to step in.
"Let me help you," the boy offered, rushing over to the bodyguard. He grabbed a few of the suitcases and carried them effortlessly down the steps and to the limo. Looked like balancing his bodyweight on a staff as Chat Noir really increased his overall strength.
Gabriel shot a disappointed glare at the Gorilla as he walked to the back of the limo to put away the luggage. Adrien knew his father would have complaints, but since they running a bit behind schedule, he saved them for later.

Plagg's widened eyes watched the clouds as they slowly flew by. Adrien rested his head on his seat, exhausted from the day already. He had a few more hours to go before he'd land in America.
"That cloud looks like Camembert," Plagg pointed, licking his lips profusely. "So does that one. And that one!"
"Someone hungry?" Adrien whispered.
Plagg turned his head and raised an eyebrow. "What kind of a stupid question is that? Of course I'm hungry!"
"Shhh," Adrien said, pressing his index finger to his lips. His eyes glanced around carefully. "Nathalie and my father are sleeping."
"Wow," Plagg said. "I'm surprised your dad sleeps at all. He looks like a vampire or something."
Adrien raised an eyebrow. "A vampire? What makes you say that?"
"I don't know. He's so emotionless and has a cold glint in his eyes."
"That's my father for you," Adrien mumbled. "He's always been that way ever since Mom disappeared."
"Whatever. He is creepy," Plagg yawned, shoving a piece of Camembert in his mouth. He then curled up into a ball and lay on Adrien's chest. "Wake me up when we land, okay?"
"Gotcha."

The sun was just setting below the horizon, creating a beautiful sight, when Adrien stepped off the plane. His mouth opened in awe as he took in his surroundings.
In the distance, he could see a giant green statue that looked like a lady holding a torch. He smiled brightly as he recognized the figure; the Statue of Liberty!
Adrien had always dreamed of visiting New York. Now, being there in person, was like a dream. He frowned slightly. A dream he wished he could share with his lady.
Nathalie grabbed Adrien's shoulder then, snapping him out his trance.
"I'm going to buy our suite," she said. "Your father arranged an important meeting so he will be gone for a few hours. Feel free to walk around. But, you must stay with your bodyguard at all times, okay? Dinner will be at 6 o'clock, so don't forget. Be careful."
Adrien blinked, half-hearing what she said. Something about an important meeting and 6 o'clock... "Okay," he replied simply.
Nathalie nodded before glancing at the Gorilla. She handed him a piece of paper; presumably a tourist guide from what Adrien could see; and then walked away.
Adrien looked around; he saw billboards, ads for food and-
Ladybug?!
Adrien saw her standing at the corner of a comic book shop, smiling flawlessly and crowded by a bunch of people. He began running towards her, his heart filled with joy that his lady was in America with him.
As he came closer, he noticed that something wasn't quite right. She wasn't... moving. Her eyes didn't glance from one person to the next. Her mouth wasn't moving. She didn't move a muscle.
Oompf!
Adrien tripped over a curb and went tumbling to the ground. He landed hard on his side, the pain shooting up his body.
"Watch it," a woman yelled in a thick New York accent. "Don't you know how to walk?"
"Désolée," Adrien mumbled quickly, getting to his feet.
The woman scrunched up her face in confusion. "Huh?"
Adrien quickly caught himself, realizing that he just spoke French to a non-French person. Of course, because he was in a completely different country.
"Oh, I meant, sorry," Adrien apologized, his French accent throwing the woman off a bit.
"Yeah, well watch where you're going. You'll get beat up in these streets, kid," the woman said, her harsh gaze softening a bit. She then walked away, leaving a dazed Adrien behind.
He then located Ladybug a few inches away from him. He approached her slowly, before he frowned.
It was a cardboard cutout.
There was no doubt that the news of Ladybug and Chat Noir, the superheroes of Paris, had reached America.
Maybe they weren't as popular in the United States as they were in Paris, but they still had a sufficient amount of recognition. Heck, they were actual superheroes!
Adrien felt a tap on his shoulder and he spun around. He was greeted by a girl with curly, brown hair and hazel eyes. She smiled warmly at him.
"Hey," she said, holding her phone in her hand nervously. "Sorry this is kinda random, but could you take a picture of me and Ladybug?"
"Oh, uh, sure," Adrien said, taking the phone from her.
"Thanks," the girl said. She ran up to the Ladybug cutout and posed beside her. She smiled and did a peace sign with her fingers.
Adrien's eyes widened as the pose reminded him of Marinette. The kind, clumsy girl that sat behind him... Along with Nino, he was starting to miss her. Her kindness never failed to make him smile. He shook his head as he began to get off topic and brought up the camera to fit the girl and the cutout. He snapped the picture and the girl jogged over to him.
"Thanks," the girl nodded. She began to walk away when she came running back. "Sorry. You sound like you're from France. What are you doing here in the U.S.?"
"Oh, my father is Gabriel Agreste, the fashion designer. He had an important meeting with a colleague of his and so he brought me along," Adrien explained.
The girl's eyes widened. "Wait. So that means you're... Adrien Agreste?!"
Adrien was surprised; she knew who he was? All the way in America?
"Wow, it's such an honor to meet you!" the girl said quickly. "I'm Brooke. I moved here all the way from Oklahoma with my aunt and uncle."
"Ah," Adrien laughed.
"I love Ladybug," Brooke marveled, turning around and glancing at the cutout. "She is my idol. Sometimes I wish I moved to Paris just so I could see her in action."
"It is amazing to see her in action," Adrien sighed dejectedly.
Brooke smiled playfully, raising her eyebrows in interest. She nudged Adrien on the shoulder. "So... you like Ladybug, huh?"
Adrien widened his eyes. Oh no, this situation seemed too much like the disaster with Lila. It ended up with someone getting akumatized and he could not go through that again.
"I... better go," Adrien said quickly. "My bodyguard is probably waiting for me."
Now that he thought about it, Adrien hadn't seen the Gorilla around at all. Maybe he had lost him in the crowd?
Brooke frowned. "Oh, okay. But I was just gonna say that I think your crush on Ladybug is super cute."
Adrien blinked. "Really?"
"Yeah," Brooke smiled. She checked her phone clock. "Well, I gotta go home for dinner. See you Adrien!" She turned on her heel and walked down the busy sidewalk, until she eventually blended into the crowd and Adrien could no longer see her anymore.
She seemed nice, Adrien thought. She was much nicer than that woman earlier.
Adrien then remembered what Brooke had said. Dinner. Hadn't Nathalie mentioned something about dinner?!
Adrien began to panic. He needed to find his bodyguard before he got into some serious trouble.
Adrien turned around and began running back to where Nathalie had left him by the airport. Plagg annoyingly poked his head out of Adrien's pocket. "What's with all the running? I'm trying to sleep here!"
"Sleep later! I have to find the Gorilla!"
Adrien skid to a stop as he noticed that the Gorilla was standing by Gabriel, who looked angry beyond belief. Adrien dropped his head and slowly began walking toward his father. He knew this would not be a good talk.
"Young man," Gabriel said harshly. "Your bodyguard had to interrupt my meeting because you had carefully ran off."
"I'm sorry, I-"
"No more excuses," Gabriel said. "You will stand here with the bodyguard until Nathalie gets back with the key to the suite and I will resume my brief meeting. Understood?"
"Yes, father," he sighed.
Adrien had finally concluded that this trip would not be as fun as he imagined it would be.
