Origins (Part 2)

A/n

The comic above includes what Natalie and Kenna look like, when Kenna has contacts in.

~Last time on Miraculous: Generation Two~

"Huh? What's this?"

~and now~

The small box opened, and a white ball of light rose from it, illuminating the room as it rose to Kenna's eye level.

Kenna's eyes widened as she slowly moved back from the bright light, which was beginning to form itself into a floating grey ball. She stared through squinted eyelids as the ball was replaced by a small black mass, no larger than her palm.

The tiny creature seemed to stretch and look around, its... ears, perhaps? lifting as if it expected to see something (or someone) but only drooped when its bright green eyes fell on Kenna's form.

It tilted its head when it saw that she was female.

"Well, hey there. Do you by any chance know where-" Then the tiny black cat saw the box below it. "N-No... Adrien..."

Kenna cautiously approached the small creature. "Who's Adrien?"

The cat had tiny tears escaping its eyes, but answered nonetheless.

"He was my past owner, but you probably knew him as Chat Noir."

~~In Natalie's room~~

"So, what exactly are you?" Natalie asked the small blue bird, which was flying in all sorts of directions. The bird stopped, and faced the female with a slightly offended expression.

"I am Duusuu, the Peacock kwami. How did I get here?!" The bird- now identified as Duusuu- said, glancing around the room only to see the black box.

"That box..." Duusuu made eye contact with Natalie's coffee brown orbs. "You are my new holder, then."

"What?"

~~With Nathanael~~

"So you give people superpowers?"

The small orange fox grinned. "Yep, I sure do."

"Did Ladybug have a kwami too?" The red haired teen asked, holding the necklace in his hand.

"You mean Tikki? Yeah, speaking of which, where is Tikki? I've been stuck in that sorry box for too long, and a familiar face would be great." Trixx said, flying up and over Nathanael's head, as if looking for something.

Nathanael took in a shaky breath. "Ladybug and Chat Noir... died, one month ago."

"What?! No wonder my miraculous was sent out!" Trixx exclaimed, tiny paws over their snout. Nathanael hung his head, bangs falling into his eyes as he remembered his former classmates. A lone tear streaked down his cheek, but was quickly brushed away by the tiny foxes paws.

"Hey, hey, it'll be alright! We both lost someone, huh?" Trixx asked carefully, violet eyes locked with the teal ones of their new holder.

But then a loud explosion sounded, reminding Nathanael of the situation beyond the safety of his house. "There's an akuma attacking!"

~~Back to Kenna~~

"Plagg, I can't go out there as Chat Noir. Everyone thinks he died, and his family..."

Plagg nodded his tiny head, an idea forming.

"Look, kid, you're the first female holder I've had, so I'll tell you what I know based on what Tikki observed on all the different Ladybugs. The costume can change, depending on the holder of the miraculous, if both the kwami and holder agree that it should be different."

Kenna nodded, her green bangs slapping her glasses quietly.

Plagg smiled.

"So, kid, how do you feel about grey?"

~~Back to Natalie~~

"Absolutely not."

"But, Natalie, you have been chosen!"

"No. My sister and I came here to better our education and escape the chaos of America. Not for me to become a superhero."

"But-!"

Natalie shook her head. "No, I have to make sure that my sister stays safe." Natalie said, standing up and walking towards the door of their shared balcony.

"speaking of which, I'm going to check on her. This kind of thing... She doesn't like it, it brings back bad memories..."

Natalie opened the glass door and went to open the one to her siblings room, but stopped and stared as a flash of grey light formed over Kenna, fading away to leave the teen in a cat-themed super suit.

Duusuu flew next to the shocked teenager.

"if you wanna watch her that badly, you're going to have to transform."

~~a few minutes prior, with Kenna~~

"so, how do you feel about grey?"

Kenna smiled. "it's my favorite color, actually! Why do you ask?"

Plagg smirked.
"I think I know what to do. You will be Chat Gris, instead of Chat Noir. But if you wanna transform now, just say 'Plagg, Transformé moi!' It's nice and simple, and will have you transform differently."

Kenna nodded, the information committed to memory already.

"Alright!"

She stood in a confident stance.
"Plagg, TRANSFORMÉ MOI!"

Kenna found herself enveloped in a cocoon of bright grey light, which flowed across her eyes, up her head, down her right arm, then down her left arm, met in the middle of her chest, and down her legs. When the light broke apart, she turned to the mirror on her wall.

She looked awesome, in her personal opinion.

A pair of dark grey cat ears sat on her head, and a mask covered her eyes in classic superhero fashion. She found the large golden bell on her neck a bit odd, but the thought was quickly pushed aside when she saw her tail.

'Wow! Now this is taking the whole cat thing seriously!'

The sound of someone talking on the balcony caused Kenna, or rather, Chat Gris, to turn around in alarm.

There were shouting noises, the words were something Chat couldn't quite make out, but her eyes widened under the mask when she saw Natalie on the balcony... transforming.

~~Back to Natalie~~

After somewhat reluctantly agreeing to follow Duusuu's plan, Natalie closed her eyes for a few seconds and took a deep breath.

"Duusuu, TRANSFORMÉ MOI!"

She was covered in blue-green light, which formed a blue mask that had lime green feather markings around the eyes, and she felt the light flow lower. It formed a large jewel on her chest, which had feathers sprouting from behind it, and the light traveled down her stomach. It covered her arms and hands in a blue to lime green gradient, and a large bow formed in her hand. A violet quiver full of arrows appeared on her back, and finally a pair of boots along with a small skirt formed.

Natalie was mildly surprised by the new appearance, as it didn't exactly match the colors of her kwami. It might've just been different because of her specifically, but she didn't really have time to think about that.

Kenna was looking at her with wide eyes, and it was at that moment she knew...
This would require a lot of explaining after the akuma was defeated.

~~Let's check on Nathanael for now~~

Unlike the others, Nathanael was trying to learn as much as possible about his duties as a superhero and about those he would be working with to defend Paris.

"I sense the awakening of the Cat and Peacock miraculous." Trixx said, holding an eraser as Nathanael scribbled down notes.

Nathanael taking notes, shocking, I know, but this information could mean the difference between life and death. Now wasn't the time to draw, despite the strong urge to.

"Their powers are as follows: The Black Cat is the power of destruction, and the Peacock is able to cleanse the akuma. You can summon a useful item to aid in the fight, as well as restore everything after a battle." Trixx explained, as Nathanael continued taking notes.

Nathanael suddenly looked up. "I'm guessing that means after I summon the item, there's little time until I de-transform?"

Trixx nodded, but crossed their paws.
"Now, that's all the information you'll need for now... ah! Also, I think you should go by Fire Fox, since that one girl said she was Volpina, and you are a guy."

Nathanael nodded, and set the notebook down as he stood up.

"Okay. Trixx, TRANSFORMÉ MOI!"

And so, a bright orange light surrounded the male, who was determined to contribute to his new teammates.

The light formed a flame-like mass above his head, before traveling down his head and onto his face, where a mask formed in a sharp hourglass shape. The light then went down his shoulders and over Nathanael's hands, leaving a pair of red gloves that stopped just below the elbow. As it went down his arms, the light bunched up on his back, forming a large bushy fox tail, before descending down his legs and leaving a pair of dark grey boots that went to his knees.

When the light faded, Nathanael didn't really notice his appearance too much, and instead focused on the shield attached to his left glove. It was relatively small, and looked like a frisbee, to be frank.

Nathanael, or rather, Fire Fox, walked out of his studio room, and climbed out of a window. He had a newfound respect for the old Chat, as it was incredibly difficult to maneuver his tail out.

~~And back to the two Armstrong sisters~~

Kenna and Natalie held eye contact, and there was an almost tangible awkward feeling in the air, as if one of them had walked in on the other whilst changing.

Neither said a word as Kenna opened the door and walked out onto the balcony, eyes seemingly glued to the floor. Natalie stood with her arms crossed, an eyebrow cocked upwards and waiting for her sibling to come up with some sort of explanation.

Kenna cleared her throat, the look finally having the desired effect, as always.

"So... I guess we already know each other's identities? What did your kwami tell you to go by?"

Natalie dropped the look, and her masked face returned to its default expression.
"Peacock, and don't you look a lot like that one hero who died a month ago?"

Kenna blinked a few times, but shook her head. "Alright, Peacock, we had the same kwami, but are completely different heroes. I'm going by Chat Gris, hence the grey."

Peacock nodded, raising her bow and holding an arrow. "Well, It's a good thing I practiced archery in America, huh?"

Chat chuckled, grabbing her baton. "My kwami said there were three of us, so where's the other one? I wonder if we're all girls... not that it would matter..." She said, furrowing her eyebrows under the mask.

A blur of orange racing across the rooftops answered Chat's question, however, and the two superheroes followed.

~~somewhere in Paris~~

"I DEMAND RETRIBUTION FOR THE TREATMENT OF MY FRIEND!" The villain shouted, grabbing the nearest item and crushing it in their bare hands.

Hawk Moth had created the first akuma in a whole month, and needless to say, the masses were both worried and excited.

Worried, because they had the chance of getting hurt as the villain destroyed countless things around them, but excited, because when Ladybug and Chat Noir first appeared it was during the first akuma attack.

Hawk Moth found himself eagerly awaiting the new heroes appearance as well, and was almost certain that the Cat miraculous would find a new holder, possibly one who'd give him their miraculous.

Though, that seemed highly unlikely.

~~back to the new trio~~

Nathanael observed the pair closely, the one obvious fact coming to him first.

He was the shortest out of the three.

Not that it bothered him, it just meant that it would probably be useful to note mentally for future reference, maybe for a drawing or something.

The next thing he noticed, was the apparent connection between the two girls. They seemed around the same age, and the taller one with green hair seemed to respect the one in blue.

Which meant that the one in blue would probably end up 'calling the shots', or being the leader of their trio.

Nathanael allowed the pair to catch up to him, and attempted to strike up a conversation to break the metaphorical ice.

"So, I'm guessing the one in the blue's the Peacock miraculous hero my kwami told me about?" He intentionally didn't mention the grey one, past memories of Chat Noir were resurfacing.

The girl in grey seemed a bit confused as to why she was pretty much ignored, but let the blonde one explain.

Her voice held a faint tone of calm authority, like an adult or mature person would use.

"That is correct, please, call me Peacock. This here is Chat." She said, gesturing at the taller female.

Nathanael felt his chest tighten slightly as Chat finally spoke.

"Chat Gris, at your service." She said, extending a hand for him to shake and bowing slightly. Her voice seemed to hide a bit of shyness under a mask of confidence, and she avoided eye contact.

Nathanael blinked a few times, but carefully shook her hand. Her grasp was firmly gentle, and the feeling in her chest did not help. It felt like someone had tied his heart to a balloon.

He pushed the feeling aside.

"Fire Fox, And the pleasure is all mine." He said, respectfully nodding.

Peacock tensed momentarily when a booming voice shouted a few buildings away from them.

"I DEMAND TO SEE THE MAYOR! IMMEDIATELY!"

The trio all exchanged glances, and rushed off in the direction of the voice. Each held worried expressions to a different degree.

When they finally reached the source, the first thing they noticed was the utter size of the victim.

They had been turned into a giant angel-looking thing, which held a balance scale in one hand, and a person in the other.

Their loud, booming voice echoed through the streets.

"I AM JUSTICE! THOSE WHO WERE WRONGED SHALL BE AVENGED!" The villain shouted, placing the person onto the scale.

I'll give you three guesses as to who the person was. Oh, wait, it was Chloé, obviously. She still had a habit of pissing people off, even after her idol had passed. Whoop de do, here we are.

The giant angel, or Justice, then placed a single golden feather on the other side of the balance, causing the side that held the girl to fall.

Peacock quickly sprung into action, shooting a grappling arrow and swinging to catch the falling teen. She landed gracefully, allowing Chloé to stand and turning to face the villain.

Chat followed suit, pushing herself forward with her extended baton and off the roof. When she reached the ground, the crowd began to whisper amongst themselves.

"Is that Chat Noir?"
"Who is she?"
"Who's the blue one?"

Fire Fox chose this moment to appear, jumping off the roof and doing a flip in midair before landing in a confident pose.

Peacock kept her piercing brown eyes locked on the akumatized villain, no doubt trying to locate the akuma. Chat seemed self-conscious, and kept looking everywhere, as if waiting for someone to tell her what to do.

Fox was feeling a strong rush of energy, and felt unusually warm and refreshed. Must've been the power of his transformation. He held the shield at his side, squeezing his fist to make it enlarge.

Justice seemed to notice them.

"YOU DARE CHALLENGE ME?! YOU CANNOT FIGHT THE LAW! I WILL CRUSH YOU!" Justice shouted, as a glowing butterfly insignia appeared in front of their face.

Just seeing the cursed symbol was enough to make Fox's blood turn to ice. He remembered the time he was akumatized, and the sickeningly sweet promises made by the evil miraculous user.

"NOW, BEFORE I CRUSH YOU, THERE IS SOMETHING I NEED FIRST!" Justice boomed, swiping an arm in their direction and attempting to grab the heroes.

Fox got his shield ready as the hand almost hit him, but was surprised when Chat stepped in and somehow blocked the hand with her baton.

Her eyes shone with determined might, and her stance showed that she was using most of her strength to hold the giant limb off.

Fox felt the feeling again, and only moved when she turned back to him and shouted for him to get out of there, which he did.

At this point, Peacock was shooting arrows at the villain as she climbed their robe-like clothing, attempting to grab what looked like a badge of sorts.

Fox knew that they would need some extra help.

"Fire Tail!" He shouted, allowing his tail to light up with orange light similar to the light he used to transform and form into the shape of an object.

He caught the object as it fell to the ground.

"A weight? What am I supposed to...?"

Items began to glow orange in his vision, and in the back of his mind he wondered if this is how Ladybug used to come up with plans.

The items were: the scale, one of Justice's many feathers, Chat Gris, Peacock's quiver, And the weight.

A sudden idea sprang into Fox's mind.
'I know...!'

He suddenly shouted.
"Hey Chat! You see that feather on the scale? Use your power on it!"

Chat nodded firmly, she seemed fine with taking orders.

"CATACLYSM!" She shouted, the telltale dark swirl of energy forming in her hand.

When she kept past the feather, she grabbed the end of it, turning it into dust instantly.

Fox continued with the plan.
"Peacock! Think you can distract her?"

Peacock nodded, drawing her bowstring back and shouting. "PIERCING ARROW!"

An arrow appeared out of nowhere, and she shot it past Justice's face.

The villain turned their head, and he dropped the weight on the farther side of the scale, the boost giving Fox the perfect opportunity to grab the badge.

"When you get this, break it! The akuma will be free!"
He called to Peacock.

She nodded, and Fox tossed the item to her.
It sailed through the air, and she caught it effortlessly.

'Wow, is she an athlete or something?'

He didn't watch her grind the badge under her heel, because in the moment of the two speaking, Chat had been swatted by the giant and was currently skidding on the ground... at him.

She collided with the side of his ankles, which knocked him down as she continued to tumble.

When they came to a stop...

Well, she was on top of him, Chat was awkwardly trying to hold herself up as they both lay on the ground. Fox felt heat race to his face, and Chat blinked a few times.

A loud "ahem!" from Peacock was enough to snap her out of it, and she quickly scrambled off of his form, offering a hand to help him up.

In that moment, his heart started racing, despite the part of him that screamed that they had only just met. That, and he remembered how Chat Noir had ended up, something he was seriously hoping to avoid.

Ignoring the heat that rushed to his cheeks, he accepted her clawed hand. She pulled him to his feet, smiling apologetically.

"Sorry 'bout that..."
She clearly had an accent, and not a French one either. Hmm...

"No more evil for you, akuma!" Said Peacock's voice off somewhere off to their left.

Fox's and Chat's miraculous beeped in unison, each having only about two minutes before de-transforming.

The blue of a glowing arrow was enough to tell Fox that Peacock had cleansed the akuma, which brought a wave of relief over the hero.

Their introduction wouldn't be a repeat of their predecessors. Good.

Fox grabbed the weight off the ground, and threw it upwards with as much force as he could muster. It went very high, and exploded into flame-like light that swarmed over everything in a manner similar to Ladybug's power.

But then Fox frowned, recalling the events of a month ago.

He then mentally pledged that he would do everything in his power to protect his teammates and the rest of Paris, no matter the cost.

~~In Hawk Moths lair~~

"I see there are new heroes... but that doesn't mean I will not get their miraculous! I just need the Cat miraculous, and getting the Ladybug earrings will be easy!" Hawk Moth said to himself as the window closed, casting an ominous darkness across the room.

He de-transformed, and moved the door he had hidden skillfully behind the painting of his wife.

Nathalie waited on the other side, patiently holding her tablet that contained his schedule.

"Mr. Agreste, do you need me to cancel your meeting in twenty minutes?" She asked, being the useful employee she was.

Gabriel smirked. "No, let them in. I have just been miraculously inspired..."

~~with the Armstrong sisters~~

"So, let's start from the top. You find a box on the dresser, open it, and then bam! Kwami! Superpowers! Let me just rush off! You could have gotten hurt, or killed, Kenna!" Natalie scolded her sibling, the two kwami playing in the background.

Kenna rubbed her arm sheepishly. "You know I wouldn't be able to tell you anyway... besides, earlier you wouldn't even talk to me! Besides, you're a superhero too! You probably wouldn't have told me!" Kenna retorted, voice raising slightly.

Natalie scoffed. "I guess you don't need to know I almost wasn't a superhero. You wanna know why? I wanted to stay and make sure you were okay, Kenna!"

Kenna froze. Small tears formed in the corners of her eyes, and she looked down at the floor.
"You... would've given up the opportunity... to be an awesome superhero... for me? But... I... I'm not that important..." Kenna said sadly, suddenly feeling like a burden.

Natalie blinked a few times, but suddenly rephrased her statement. "I just thought that I should keep an eye on you, little sis. Make sure you're safe." She said carefully, trying not to have the same effect as the first statement.

The last time they had really fought, Kenna had stormed out of the house... and came back after spending a week in the hospital because someone decided to rob her and leave her for dead. The last thing Natalie wanted was for a repeat of that.

Kenna looked up at her older sister, small tears falling. Natalie stood silently as Kenna wiped her tears on the edge of her sleeves.

Kenna finally shook her head, and looked up at the kwamis with a smile.

"So, what do you two like to eat?"

~~with Nathanael~~

"So, what'd you think? Was that fun or what?" Trixx asked excitedly, sitting on top of the pencil Nathanael was using.

The redhead blinked, and his lips curled into a slight smile.

"I guess it was, we all have a lot to learn about this whole 'being a team of superheroes', but I think we'll be just fine." He said with a smile.

Then Trixx smirked.
"So, this new Chat, what do you think of her?"

Nathanael panicked as he felt his face redden.
"W-We just met today! I-I don't know!" He said, more so to himself than to Trixx.

Trixx giggled. "Yeah, whatever you say..."

~~The next morning, with the sisters~~

The annoying beep of Kenna's alarm clock woke the teen up, and she groaned loudly, getting up and turning it off.

Stretching, she pulled off her pajamas and changed into her usual outfit, a black t-shirt and blue jeans. She took out her ponytail, and held it on her wrist as she brushed her hair. The cool sensation of a certain silver ring lingered on her finger as she carefully glided the item through her hair...

Until a whine from the dresser caused her to jump so much that the brush almost broke.

"Kenna... I'm hungry..." Plagg complained, rubbing his eyes with his tiny paws. It was cute, to say the least.

Kenna sighed, and continued doing her hair. "I'll give you some camembert in a second, okay? I'll be done in a second."

When she was done brushing, she pulled it up and back into the usual ponytail. Or, at least, most of it. Her bangs were still out.

About five minutes later, Kenna had her contacts in and was handing Plagg a small piece of his precious cheese.

"Alright, Plagg, as you probably already knew, you can't be out when I'm at school."

Plagg whined in protest. "Aww, are we really going back there...? It's so boring..."

Kenna smiled, holding up her small sketchbook. "That's what this is for."

~~when Natalie woke up~~

Unlike Kenna, Natalie had chosen something much better than loud beeping as her signal to wake up.

Or, at least, it seemed like it would be when she picked it. Now, not so much.

The loud sound of her favorite song from Riot Days filled the room when she woke up.

She was a bit groggy at first, and stumbled now and then, but she managed to get dressed, put on her hair clip, and head downstairs.

She was greeted with a tired yet friendly grin from Kenna when she reached the bottom of the stairs. "Mornin', Nat!" The younger teen called, raising a hand in greeting.

Natalie blinked for a few seconds, still not entirely awake. "Hmm...?"

You see, neither one of the siblings were what you would call a "morning person", this being especially true for Natalie. If she didn't have caffeine... watch out.

"Need... coffee..." Natalie mumbled, walking past her sister and turning on the appliance that she used to make coffee. She still was a bit groggy, but managed to put the mix into the machine and set a mug under the dispenser.

A tiny jab to the stomach snapped her out of her thoughts, almost dropping the now filled mug. "E-Eh?!"

"H-Hey! Watch the feathers!" A small blue bird cried, avoiding a few stray droplets of the warm brown liquid.

Natalie, convinced that this was due to her tiredness, took a few careful sips of the warm drink, but when she looked back at the bird, it was still there.

It was then that yesterday's events returned to her mind.

"Oh... hey Duusuu. Would you like a cracker...?" She asked, feeling slightly more pleasant now that she had the caffeine in her system. When she received a small nod in return, she handed the kwami a single saltine, stuffing a plastic bag with more for later in the day.

"So... We have school today, right? Do you think the teachers will make us introduce ourselves to the entire class?!" Kenna asked, probably still thinking that this was some sort of novel or something, the girl really needed to learn what was real and what was not.

"No, Ken, I do not think the teachers would do something like that. If they did, everyone else would have to introduce themselves as well." Natalie replied, almost sounding bored, which in all honesty she was.

Her statement seemed to calm Kenna, so there was that.

"Anyway, we should get going." Natalie said, coffee now completely gone.

"Okay! Let's get today over with!" Kenna all but shouted, a determined glint in her eyes, but it was soon replaced with a shy and awkward smile. "Oops, I did it again, didn't I?"

Natalie nodded, having already grabbed her bag and about to open the door.

"We should probably head to school now, I don't want to be late." Natalie said calmly, opening the door and stepping outside. Duusuu flew into Natalie's hair, but was somehow unseen by passerby.

Kenna quickly stuffed some Camembert into a bag as well (she had gone out the night before and purchased some) before quickly gesturing for Plagg to fly into her hood, which the small cat somehow understood.

And with that, they began walking to school.

~Now, back to Nathanael~

As expected from an artist, Nathanael woke up that morning with his face on last night's drawing. Luckily, there were no obvious markings on his face, but a pair of orange paws still kept poking his eyes until they opened.

"Huh...?"

"Wake up, kid! You have to get ready for school!" Trixx exclaimed, poking the male one last time and removing the pencil from Nathanael's grip.

"Huh...? Trixx...? What... What time is it?!" He said, suddenly sitting up and scaring the tiny fox half to death.

"I-It's about 6:30! What's with the rush, kid?" Trixx asked, flying over and handing Nathanael a comb. The teen began getting ready, and Trixx tried to help wherever they could.

"Trixx, I have to be on time today! It's the first day of school!" Nathanael said as he changed clothes, keeping the necklace on and sliding on his usual grey jacket.

"Well, kid, I think you'll be fine." Trixx said, eating a strawberry and flying into Nathanael's bag as the teen stood.

"I hope so..." Nathanael said, grabbing his bag and opening the door.

~Back to the Armstrong sisters~

"So..." Kenna said awkwardly, trying to strike up a conversation. "Are you excited for class?"

"... I guess." Natalie replied, a blank expression making it's way onto her face, as it usually did.

"..."

"Do you think we'll make any new friends?"

"... Possibly."

"Natalie..."

"... In all honesty, I don't know."

Kenna inhaled deeply, something she usually did when she was coming to some sort of conclusion.

"So, we really have started a whole new life, huh?" Kenna asked, in another attempt at conversation.

"... I guess we have." Natalie said flatly, turning to the left and rounding the corner, Kenna following closely behind.

As the pair walked down the sidewalk, Kenna saw a few shapes out of the corner of her eye.

"Hey, Nat..." Kenna whispered nervously, suddenly on edge. "Are those people... following us?!" She frantically whispered, pupils shrinking.

Natalie blinked, and turned around to face her paranoid sibling.

"Kenna, I can assure you, there is nobody following us. We are close to the school, maybe they are students." She said, gripping Kenna's shoulders lightly.

This calmed the teen down, and they soon continued walking...

Until Kenna tripped.

~Back to the Tomato- I mean Nathanael~

Nathanael continued walking to school, but saw something out of the corner of his eye. Was that...?

He turned around and saw two new people but they seemed familiar...

Oh well, any ways they were clearly new students, but it was the start of another school year so this was to be expected anyway.

Nathanael continued walking, but still couldn't shake the feeling that he knew them from somewhere...

~Le small time skip to when everyone is at the school, because Ken/Kenna is lazy~

While everyone seemed to know everyone else, the two siblings just stood awkwardly in the corner of the courtyard.

Actually, Natalie was doing just fine, having decided to simply take out her phone and listen to music. Her sister, on the other hand...

Well, she was visibly uncomfortable, and her eyes kept darting around.

Someone seemed to notice the unusual pair, that person being a certain blonde girl. (not Chloe) She walked over to the visibly anxious teen, her violet-haired companion following closely behind.

"Hello! I'm Rose, are you new here?" She said sweetly, innocent eyes blinking twice.

The teen she was speaking to, the one with the blonde hair, looked up, their brown eyes showing boredom. They removed an ear bud, and blinked. "Hello?" She asked, her voice matching the bored look in her eyes.

Rose wasn't used to the teen's accent, but decided to ignore it.

"Hi! What's your name? Are you a new student?" She asked again, this time catching the girl's attention.

"My name is Natalie... and yes, I'm new here." Was the response, as the teen paused their music.

Juleka seemed to recognize the band that Natalie was listening to, however. "Whoa, is that Riot Days?" She asked, crimson eyes filled with recognition.

Natalie blinked a few times, before she simply replied "Yes."

The the teenager that came in with Natalie walked over.

"Nat, I don't know about this..." She said, head down, but visibly taller than the blonde student she was referring to. This prompted Rose to speak to her as well.

"Oh! Hello! I'm Rose! Are you new too?" She asked, causing the brunette to jump and gasp. She was clearly startled, but regained her composure.

"I-I'm Kenna... It's nice to meet you!" Kenna said, smiling slightly. Rose giggled, but then looked serious. "You remind me of something..."

Kenna looked panicked for a second, but then calmed down when Rose finished. "You are like a deer! Kind of skittish, hehe!" She said sweetly, sending the girl a closed-eye smile.
