Transformation
Alex...
Those voices... they were strange, they didn't sound human.
"Alex!"
""Why doesn't she wake up?"
"That black energy killed her! We are lost!"
"Alex! Wake up!"
The girl felt strange. Her body... felt strange. Different. She slowly opened her eyes. At first her vision was blurred, but soon her vision returned to normal and she saw before her Tikki and around her the rest of the kwamis.
"Alex!" exclaimed the kwami of creation excitedly.
"I'm glad the guardian has come to her senses," Sass said.
"I'd say she's better than ever!" said Mullo happily.
"Of course, because now she's a mouse"
"Xuppu!" scolded the kwamis looking annoyed at the little monkey.
Mouse? What were they talking about? Alex got up, staying seated. She looked at the kwamis and saw these were bigger?
"Hey, what the hell happened?" the Latina asked. Why are you bigger?
"Uh..." Tikki looked at her friends, some turning their eyes and others encouraging her to speak. The kwami of creation looked at her bearer with concern. "We didn't get big. you... shrunk."
"Shrink me?"
"I just said it," said Xuppu. "You turned into a mouse."
"Xuppu!"
"What?"
Stompp and Roaar flew over to Alex's dresser, grabbed a hand mirror and left it on the desk where she was, the Latina barely noticing where she was standing. Stompp and Roaar put the mirror in front of the guardian so she could see herself and Alex was startled to see her reflection: Sure enough, now she was a mouse anthropomorphic.
She had brown fur and a brown nose. She still had her dark brown hair slightly past her shoulders and somewhat tousled, and she still had her glasses. She brought her hands up to where her ears were supposed to be, but she didn't feel a thing. She saw the mouse ears and slowly reached her hands to them and felt them, doing so —and due to the shock— she almost knocked her glasses off.
Her hands felt strange, she looked at them and was surprised to discover now she only had four fingers instead of five. Her little fingers disappeared. She backed up a bit to get a better look, but she stepped on something —at the same time it hurt her— and fell on her back, landing on something causing her to drop to her knees in no time. She brought her hands to her behind and felt something on it, took it and saw what it was: a mouse tail.
She stood up and walked over to the hand mirror to see herself again. She still couldn't believe that she was now a mouse, she was crazy. Putting aside her mousy appearance, he observed her outfit, which also changed to adapt to the Victorian era: She wore a purple dress, without a neckline and long sleeves, with lilac details on the neck, wrists, waist and skirt edges, which was long covering his feet. Alex was grateful that the skirt wasn't pompous, so she could move freely. She lifted her skirt to see her feet, now she was wearing simple purple two inch heels.
She let go of her skirt and saw herself from head to toe. She looks like she was in an animated movie; An American Tale, The Rescuers, The Secret of NIMH or... At that last thought she began to make a strange expression on her face. It made sense: mice, Victorian era.
The kwamis looked at the guardian with concern. They didn't know how to interpret the strange expression formed on her face. Tikki cautiously approached her bearer, everyone so focused on the young mouse they didn't notice the footsteps approaching the room.
"Alex?" the little kwami of creation called cautiously.
When Tikki touched her bearer's shoulder several things happened at once: Alex screamed, the kwamis flinched away from the guardian, and the attic door was flung open.
"Alex!"
The kwamis turned towards the source of the new voice, frightened of having been discovered, but immediately calmed down when they saw who it was.
"What a relief! It's just my bearer, Lily," Trixx reported. "And I'm glad to see she's still the same."
The redhead, also in Victorian-era attire, entered the room and saw the kwamis hovering near her cousin's desk, while hearing howls of excitement?
"Trixx, what's wrong?" Where is Alex?
"Well..."
The kwami of the illusion pointed to the desk, to which the rest stepped aside to reveal the human. Lily approached and stopped in her tracks at what she saw: a little mouse in a purple dress was hugging Tikki as she screamed with joy.
"No way... Alex?"
The little mouse looked up, meeting her cousin's huge green eyes.
"Lily!" Alex exclaimed, finally letting go of the poor kwami, who ended up dizzy from her bearer's burst of happiness. "You didn't change."
"But you do!" Lily said. She sat down in the chair and looked worriedly at her cousin. "This is bad. Not only did London go back to Victorian times, but some people, like you, were turned into mice! What kind of akuma did Papillombre create this time?"
"The Great Mouse Detective"
"What did you say?"
"The Great Mouse Detective"
"Alex, now is not the time to..."
"The akuma is inspired by the movie The Great Mouse Detective!"
"Wait. What?"
"I'm one hundred percent sure it must be!"
"How can you be? That movie just came out this week."
"Well..."
"It's her favorite!" Mullo answered excitedly. "In her time, the guardian has seen its many times and that's why she's totally sure of what she says!"
Lily looked at Alex with an arched eyebrow while the little mouse looked at the human with a nervous smile.
"You know it backwards and forwards...and yet you wanted to convince me and Sev to go spend foolishly on tickets?"
"Oh please! If by accident you traveled to the past and had the chance to see Grease at its premiere, you would also be excited and want to go see it, right?"
"T-that's not the issue now!" Lily exclaimed blushing, since her cousin was right. Alex laughed at the redhead's reaction. "To all this where is your Miraculous?"
The little mouse stopped laughing. When checking out her new look and touching her ears, she didn't realize if she still had her earrings on or not. She checked her ears and breathed a sigh of relief at the feel of her Miraculous.
"Here it is," Alex answered.
"That's nice," Lily said. "So, what can we do now?"
" 'We do' "
"Even though you're Ladybug, you're now a mouse, so how do you expect to face the villain?"
"Lily, Lily, Lily. If I was transformed into a mouse, it's because obviously the villain is now that sewer rat"
"What are you talking about?"
"Mice and being exactly the year 1897, it is more than obvious that we are in The Great Mouse Detective, as I told you before. Therefore, the villain is nothing more and nothing less than: The World's Greatest Criminal Mind. The Napoleon of Crime. The nefarious Professor Ratigan!"
Because of the guardian's cry, the kwamis hid behind Lily in fear, while the redhead just rolled her eyes at her cousin's excessive drama.
"Assuming you're right the akuma is the villain of that movie, how do you plan to find it?"
"That's simple," Kaalki said, letting herself be seen. "The guardian will use my teleportation power to go after him and defeat him."
"Oh...it's too easy," Alex complained. "¡Así que chiste!" (So joke!)
"Alex," Lily called, hearing the scolding in her voice, "Don't be childish. As much as you love the movie, this was all caused by Papillombre's akuma and it might not be attached to it."
"You're right." The redhead smiled believing that she made her cousin see reason, but she vanished when she heard her. "Could it be this villain did read the books and then we'll be in big trouble!"
"Books?"
"The Great Mouse Detective is based on Basil of Baker Street, a series of children's novels written by Eve Titus and illustrated by Paul Galdone. Unfortunately, the books are not very known in my time so I have never been able to find them; I only know the first book, Basil of Baker Street, was translated into Spanish and even then, I haven't been able to find it either. That's why I'm worried the akumatized person, in addition to obviously knowing the movie, also read the books and that would give him a huge advantage."
"I don't think so"
"What?"
"You and Chat Noir always face the unknown. I mean, over the course of the fight you discover the villain's power and them goal. That way you can devise a plan to defeat them, as well as see if you need the help of another Miraculous bearer."
"You're right Lily"
"So don't worry if this villain used only the movie and/or the books, you guys can beat him!"
"Thank you very much for believing in us."
"Excuse me." The cousins looked at Sass, who looked worried. "Now Ms. Lily mentions it, if Ladybug and Chat Noir need the help of the other bearers, how will she give them the Miraculous? Especially if some of the bearers are still human and others turned into mice."
The cousins froze. They hadn't thought of that! Thanks to her never removing her earrings, the Miraculous of Creation shrunk along with her bearer. But then Chat Noir and the other heroes...
"Please Chat Noir have been turned into a mouse or stay human!" The mouse exclaimed worriedly.
"You say that as if he had been changed into something else," Lily said.
"That's what worries me! In The Great Mouse Detective there are not only mice, and with the exception of Ratigan who is a rat, but also a bat, a lizard, a dog and a cat. The last two as normal animals.
"Oh, oh"
"I know"
"Well, there's only one way to find out: Transform and go find him."
"Okay. Ready Tikki?"
"Yes" the kwami replied, coming to stand beside her bearer. "Just please keep your feet on the ground. Or this time it will be Chat Noir who will have to bring you down from the clouds and take things seriously?"
Alex didn't know if even with the fur they could see her blush, her doubt was resolved when Lily laughed and told her her ears were red. Once the embarrassment had passed, the little mouse was about to transform when an idea crossed her mind and she smiled.
«Si en estos momentos soy el personaje principal, debo verme como él» (If I'm the main character right now, I have to look like him.)
"Tikki, Spots On! Ha!"
As soon as the pink light of the transformation faded, Lily and the kwamis were stunned as Ladybug's appearance changed. As always, her glasses disappeared being replaced by a red mask with black flecks covered half of her face, but now she didn't have her ribbon-headband, instead it was replaced by a deerstalker. She was also not wearing her typical red collared suit with black flecks, but now wore a white dress shirt with a high collar, a red with black flecks knee length Inverness cape with an outer cape, a black tie with red flecks as well as red pants and shoes with black spots and soles and black gloves. On her hip was hung her yoyo. All of her attire was of a Victorian-era coccinellid-style detective.
Ladybug approached the hand mirror and looking at her reflection couldn't help but get excited. While Lily hit her forehead with the palm of her hand and the kwamis looked at the guardian with concern. This would be a long mission.
"Indeed, the roles are going to be reversed," Lily whispered. "Ladybug will now be playing pranks and lost in the clouds. And Chat Noir will be the serious one and bring her back to earth."
And speaking of Chat Noir...
=====MDMDMDMDMD=====
"Severus. Severus! Boy please don't do this to me wake up!"
The boy felt strange. His body... felt strange. Different. He slowly opened his eyes. At first his vision was blurred, but soon his vision returned to normal and he saw before him his worried kwami.
"Plagg?"
"Thanks to all the cheesemakers in the world! You woke up!"
"What happened? The last thing I remember is that strange black energy attacked us." Severus got up, staying seated. He looked at his kwami and saw this one was bigger? "Hey what the hell happened?" He asked. "Why are you bigger?"
"Uh..." Plague looked away, he didn't know how to explain to his bearer what happened to him without making him upset, but he had to. The kwami of destruction looked at his bearer with concern. "I didn't get big. you... shrunk."
"Shrink me?"
"What happens is that strange black energy... it turned you into a mouse."
"WHAAAAT!?
Severus got up and checked his body. He had gray fur and a black nose. He still had his shoulder-length black hair. He brought his hands up to where his ears were supposed to be, but he didn't feel a thing. He slowly brought his hands up touching his head until he felt mouse ears and released them. He looked at his hands and was startled to discover he now only had four fingers instead of five. His little fingers disappeared. He recoiled in fear, but he stepped on something —at the same time it hurt— and fell onto his back, landing on something as he did so, bringing him to his knees in no time. He brought his hands to his behind and felt something on it, took it and saw what it was: a mouse tail.
So startled was he by his mousy appearance Severus didn't notice his clothing had also changed. He was wearing a white shirt, gray tie, bottle green vest, pants, jacket and black shoes. The kwami of destruction nervously watched his bearer, the boy only looked at himself and was disturbed by his silence, so he approached him cautiously.
"Severus?" Plagg called worriedly. "Are you...?"
The little kwami covered his ears because suddenly his bearer screamed and didn't blame him. He with difficulty calmed Severus down; once serene, bearer and kwami began to investigate what happened.
"The last thing we managed to hear is the city returned to the Victorian era and the strangest thing transformed some citizens into mice, like you."
"If that last part is true, could it be Ladybug was also transformed?"
"There's only one way to find out."
Severus was about to transform, but Plagg stopped him.
"What's going on?"
"You must change your superhero appearance."
"Why?"
'Don't you think it'll draw too much attention if a mouse goes around disguised as a cat? They'll think you're some kind of crazy, and I say this because we don't know if people have memories of you and Ladybug, and it's best to keep a low profile."
"You're right about that."
Severus thought for a moment until he came up with something might be of use to him.
"Plagg, Claws Out!"
As soon as the green light of the transformation faded, Chat Noir's new appearance was revealed. The black mask covered half of his face remained the same, but now his black eyes did not lengthen like a cat nor did his sclerae turn green, but his irises were now green. Neither did the cat ears nor the long belt hanging like a tail appear due to his now mousy appearance. His black suit with the gold bell was replaced by a white dress shirt with a high collar, a black frock coat with tight sleeves and buttons up to the elbows, black button-down pants, and black shoes. He kept his clawed gloves and slightly disheveled hair handsome. His silver staff with the green cat print in the center was not on his lower back, but on his left side as if he was carrying a sword.
He watched himself carefully reviewing his new image giving it a thumbs up.
"Well, now to contact Bugaboo."
He took his staff and activating the phone function called Ladybug.
The coccinellid-rodent interrupted her happiness when she heard her yoyo ring. She took it and answered.
"Despite the current situation, I'm glad you were able to contact me, chaton. Besides I'm also glad the functions of our weapons did not return to the past."
"And I'm glad to hear you, My Lady. But I think at this time the fact that you call me 'chaton' or 'cat' in any language isn't fit right now."
"¿Cómo? (How?) Did you turn into a mouse too?"
"And with that question you just answered my question. Now the important thing is to find out what is happening"
"I know exactly what's going on"
"What!? How...?"
"First we have to meet. See you at 221B Baker Street."
Chat Noir was silent processing the information while Lily patted her forehead again.
"Uh...maybe I misheard, but did you say 221B Baker Street?"
"Exactly." Before her friend's silence, Ladybug assumed the feline-rodent wasn't taking her seriously. "Listen to me and go there now! I'm coming!" And she cut the call.
The hero looked at his staff still unable to believe what his friend had just told him.
"Maybe that strange black energy affected her head. Anyway, I'd better go soon before she gets upset." Chat Noir extended his hand in front of him, his Miraculous flashed and before him appeared a circular black portal with a green cat's footprint. He walked through it and, bewildered, appeared on the porch of 221B Baker Street. "It has to be a joke." he climbed the fence next to the door to wait, while he would take the opportunity to assimilate his current circumstance caused by Papillombre and his akuma.
Ladybug put away her yoyo, extended her hand in front of her, her Miraculous flashed and before her appeared a red circular portal with black flecks. Seeing that, Kaalki crossed her little arms and turned her face away indignantly at her since she had the power of teleportation, not Tikki.
"I'm sorry about that, Kaalki," Ladybug apologized upon seeing the kwami's face. "But that was discovered by Chat Noir and I as soon as we became superheroes and needed to get out of Hogwarts and back."
"All right," Kaalki replied. "Back then it was an emergency and I know my power is more powerful than that, so I will be important as soon as I am needed."
"But remember you're not the only one," Orikko clarified.
"Easy, don't fight." Before leaving, Ladybug turned to Lily. "Protect the Miracle Box and keep Trixx close at hand. I don't know if I'll be able to contact the other bearer and give them their Miraculouses, so the only option we have for help is you."
"Not to mention we don't know if you'll be able to summon the Miraculouses with your yoyo since they're in their original size and you're a mouse."
"Good observation"
"We'll go back to the box and try to grab our Miraculouses," Sass said.
"Thank you"
"Ladybug!" Wayzz exclaimed pointing to something behind her.
Theheroine turned around and saw her portal was closing. So, she quickly walkedthrough it and appeared on the porch of 221B Baker Street, greeted by beautifulviolin music.
