The Toy Store

As soon as they left Holmes's house, Basil ordered Toby to stop. The hound complied, and the detective and the heroine touched down just as Chat Noir, Dawson, and Olivia caught up. Basil climbed onto Toby 's back, climbing up the leash. The doctor and the girl tried to climb up like the detective, but they couldn't. Seeing them, Ladybug and Chat Noir looked at each other with a smile and each took their gun. The coccinellid-rodent carried Olivia, the feline-rodent carried Dawson and they climbed onto Toby's back easily and to the gasps of astonishment from the three leading mice.

"That was amazing!" The girl exclaimed excitedly.

"How... how did you do that?" asked the doctor, recovering from the shock

"Isn't it obvious, doctor? They used magic!" Basil sneered.

The hero hated the detective more and more. Who the hell did rodent think he was!? He was going to tell him something, but his lady stopped him and she replied:

"In effect, we use magic."

Basil stopped his laughter and looked puzzled at the youngsters; he didn't mean it! Ladybug smiled when she saw his expression, there were enough jokes without having to endure more, so the best way to lower his ego was by showing him something unreal for him —like magic— existed. With yoyo in hand, the young woman was going to make a demonstration, but Basil ordered Toby to look for Fidget and the hound advanced, making the heroine barely have time to hold on and not fall.

Toby sniffed the cobblestone streets, intently searching for Fidget 's scent. Meanwhile, Ladybug and Chat Noir observed their surroundings. After the rain, a thick fog had filled the streets, looking ghostly in the light of the streetlights. It certainly gave off a mysterious and unsettling atmosphere.

"I've walked the streets of London at night before, but it's never seemed as gloomy as it does now," Chat Noir commented.

"For the same reason, it seems that at any moment Sweeney Todd and Jack the Ripper could appear to us," said Ladybug

Toby stopped, raised his head and howled, indicating he had found Fidget's scent. It took them a second to remember they were on the back of an animal with nothing to hold on to. Ladybug quickly hugged Basil's waist tightly and Olivia wrapped her arms around the heroine's waist laughing, Chat Noir fell on his back and took a couple of rolls backwards until he managed to hold onto the leash tightly and stood up as Toby ran off.

"The thrill of the hunt, eh, Dawson?" the detective asked the doctor.

Ladybug didn't need to turn around to see how the doctor was doing, Chat Noir did and he saw Dawson desperately clinging to Toby's tail.

"Q-q-quite!" stuttered the stocky mouse, laughing nervously.

"Oh-ho-ho. Our peg-legged quarry can't be far now." Basil exclaimed enthusiastically.

"Ladybug, help Dr. Dawson! I don't think he will last very long!" Chat Noir asked.

Basil, Olivia and the heroine looked over their shoulders and saw the poor doctor's situation. The coccinellid-rodent hugged the detective's waist tightly with one hand and with the other she launched her yoyo towards the doctor. Seeing it, Dawson raised a hand with difficulty and the yoyo caught on his wrist. Ladybug yanked and the doctor was thrown towards where Chat Noir was. The hero grasped the doctor's free wrist with one hand and the leash with the other.

"Better?" asked the feline-rodent

"Quite!" Dawson answered, holding on to the young man's waist to keep from falling and thus allowing him to hold the leash with both hands.

The heroine picked up her yoyo and put it away, smiling in relief Dawson was safe. His astonishment at what he had just seen passed, His astonishment at what he had just seen passed, Basil returned his attention to the front, closer and closer to where Fidget stood. Ladybug flashed through the scene where the bat finished collecting the British Royal Guard uniforms from some toy soldiers and went through his list. Her thoughts were interrupted when Toby stopped in front of a toy store and howled loudly.

Chat Noir let go of the leash, Dawson let go of the young man and watched him walk quickly towards the dog's head.

"Shut up, you silly dog!"

Ladybug was going to say something to him, but she immediately understood. She had never thought about it before despite watching the movie many times. She released Basil, Olivia her, and went with her partner to reassure Toby.

"Sh! Silence Toby!"

"Oh, calm down, young people. It's just Toby's way of telling us we're on the right track," Basil explained gruffly after Ladybug and Chat Noir shut Toby up, mistakenly thinking they were spooked by the noise. "I trained him well. What 'heroes', very brave!"

"Oh sure, make fun of us!" Ladybug said angrily, facing the detective. "It's not because of fear, genius. Toby's howl not only tells us we're close, it also alerts suspects we're coming!"

Basil's jaw dropped, that never crossed his mind. It began to make sense why Ratigan had managed to get away for so long. The thought that some young men—and as a bonus a woman scolding him as if he were a child— would easily notice such a mistake made him rub the back of his neck uncomfortably as he averted his eyes from her.

But being extremely proud, he shook his head and looked defiantly at Ladybug.

"You think you're very smart, don't you?" he asked in a slight whisper.

"It's not a think, she's really smart." Chat Noir declared, reaching to hear." Of the two of us she is the brains, knowing how to defeat the enemy in turn and when we can fight the two of us alone or if we will need help." He turned his attention to his lady with a smile. "I wouldn't be surprised if your civilian profession is detective or something similar."

"You know I can't tell you anything about my personal life, but it's not a bad idea," said the aforementioned

Basil snorted at that, a female detective and smarter than a man? It was the most absurd thing he had ever heard in his life! Although since those two arrived everything has been nonsense. The detective jumped from Toby's nose to the windowsill.

"Splendid job, Toby!"

Ladybug sighed in resignation and Chat Noir snorted in annoyance; they knew they were in a different time thanks to the akuma, but they still couldn't help but get annoyed with retrograde behavior like that.

Olivia walked up to the edge of Toby's nose and held out her arms to Basil, smiling innocently. The detective rolled his eyes and exhaled in resignation, reaching out his arms to her. The girl jumped, but not as much as he expected. Nearly having a mini heart attack, he lunged forward, snatched her out of the air and pulled her to him. But then the concern vanished as quickly as it came. He pushed Olivia away from himself as far as his arms would carry before setting her safely on the windowsill and pushing her forward.

"It still strikes me as enormously unwise to bring an infant. But hey, you can't expect much from a couple of youngsters like yourselves." Basil commented loud and clear. Evidently with the intention of upsetting the heroes.

Before Chat Noir could once again try to do something to the detective, Ladybug beat him to it by walking down Toby's nose to where the mouse was.

"Are you going to be with that attitude all the time?"

Her attention was totally on the detective the coccinellid-rodent didn't notice where she was walking. Ladybug took the last step on Toby's nose carelessly. Quickly she moved the other foot forward reaching the edge of the sill, but she didn't step well and lost her balance. Basil quickly grabbed her hand and pulled her forward to safety. However, Ladybug tripped over her own feet, colliding with Basil and they both fell onto the surface of the window sill. They both groaned in pain from the impact. They looked at each other and tensed as they realized they were in a rather awkward position... again: Ladybug was lying on top of Basil.

«¿¡Otra vez!? ¿¡En serio!?» (Again!? Really!?) the heroine thought embarrassed

With their ears completely red, the two separated and stood up without looking at each other because of embarrassment.

"Thank you for that, Basil." the young woman thanked without looking at him. Unfortunately, having saved her would not change anything and the detective would continue to mistrust her.

From Toby's nose, Chat Noir was seething with jealousy. The first time that happened in Baker Street he didn't say anything because both he and his lady had been thrown by the sentimonster towards the mice were coming out of the house and therefore it was an accident. But by saving the girl from falling and tripping, it was too much! That could not be a simple accident at all.

"You're welcome, Miss Ladybug." Basil replied, straightening his Inverness cape and tie before straightening his back and with his head held high, his ears still dyed red, he walked away trying to pretend nothing happened.

"You know this guy is not real and to top it off he's a mouse, right?"

The heroine looked to her right startled to meet her partner, who looked upset.

"Yes, I know! Why do you say that?"

"Ask your ears, they are the same color as your clothes."

Ladybug felt her heart skip a beat, she covered her ears with her hands in embarrassment and looking towards the window, she advanced followed closely by Chat Noir.

Dawson was the only one missing, standing on Toby's nose about to climb down when the dog growled at him again. Startled, the doctor smiled nervously, taking off his hat towards the hound about to jump up and away from him. Deciding the good-natured mouse was taking too long, the dog sneezed and tossed the doctor like a ball across the window sill toward the others. Hearing Toby growl, Ladybug knew what would happen; She moved out of the way and Chat Noir causing Dawson to crash into Basil's back, who grunted from the blow, turned around and saw the doctor lying on his back. He looked at Toby sternly.

"Now Toby...sit!" he ordered the dog, but the hound did not obey. He kept standing and wagging his tail happily. Impatient, Basil stomped up to the dog, pointed a finger, repeating the order in a stricter tone. "Toby, sit."

"Sit, Toby." Olivia (following the adult without noticing) ordered the dog in a more friendly tone, waving her hand to sit down.

The hound obeyed the girl, sitting up instantly, keeping his cheerful expression.

Basil looked jealous at Olivia. So many years of training and Toby obeyed a little girl at first? It really wasn't his night.

"Good boy. If you'll excuse me." the detective said and walked past the little girl.

Olivia watched the adult walk away for a moment before turning back to Toby.

"You be good now." the girl ordered, leaning toward the dog and whispering as if she were sharing a secret. "We're going to find my father."

At the other end of the window sill, Basil peered around trying to figure out how to get in while he hummed to himself and the others just watched.

"Now what are you doing?" Chat Noir asked Ladybug in a whisper.

"Looking for an entrance," answered the heroine in the same way

"And you know where it is, right?" In response, Ladybug took Chat Noir's hand, took him to the penultimate circle of the window and pointed out to the hero the small hole in the glass. The young man raised an eyebrow at the heroine. "It's a joke, right?"

"No"

Ladybug lifted her partner's hand into a fist, exposing his index finger, and stuck it into the hole. The feline-rodent looked confused at his partner. What did that mean? His answer appeared immediately at the moment of pulling his hand to remove his finger and he saw with astonishment the glass of the window opened as if it were a door.

Basil stopped his search when he heard a shriek behind him. He looked over his shoulder and saw the youngsters discovering the entrance; or rather Ladybug did because Chat Noir clearly looked surprised. The detective's eyes widened in bewilderment. How come she...?

"Amazing!" Dawson said impressed. "How did they find out?"

"Actually, Ladybug ..."

"Looking at the window all the time when walking and in this way, it was possible to discover that small hole in the glass, easily deducing Fidget entered through there."

"Miss, you astound me!"

"Me too. Although is something of every day " Chat Noir admitted, finally removing his finger from the hole.

"Thank you." Ladybug said. She looked over her shoulder at Basil with a superior smile. "Actually, it's elementary" «¡Siempre quise decir eso en un verdadero caso!» (I always wanted to say that in a real case!) She looked away from the detective and without a word went into the toy store. "Come on, let's find that peg-legged bat."

Chat Noir, Olivia and Dawson followed her leaving Basil outside. The detective watched them enter, clenching his fists in anger. Observe the window yes of course! There was no way she could find the entrance so easily! It was absurd, for that she would have to know beforehand where it was. And that wasn't the worst... she had stolen his line!

"Cheeky little...!"

"Will you stand there throwing a tantrum? Or are you going in?"

Because he was furious, Basil didn't notice Ladybug returned and was leaning on the wooden frame on one shoulder, arms crossed and smirking at him. The mouse growled at the girl's impudence. Without waiting for an answer, the heroine went back to the others. The detective stomped his feet in irritation into the toy store and closed the door behind him.

While Ladybug and Basil were still in the doorway, Chat Noir, Dawson and Olivia walked looking around. The doctor accidentally bumped into the leg of a doll.

"Oh! I beg your pardon, I-" Dawson apologized, closing his eyes and taking off his hat. He opened his eyes and realized who, or really what, he was apologizing. Chat Noir, Dawson, and Olivia gazed at the toy store in fascination. "Oh my. Upon my word I've never seen so many toys."

"Behind any of which could lurk a bloodthirsty assassin!" Basil warned, poking his head out from behind the leg of the doll Dawson collided with. "So please, Doctor...be very careful."

Basil stepped around the doll, pressing his back against the toy's leg, hiding in the shadows made by the dress.

«Me burlaría de él haciendo alusión a las películas de Misión Imposible sino fuera porque son del futuro, incluso para Chat Noir» (I'd make fun of him alluding to the Mission: Impossible movies if it weren't for the fact they're from the future, even for Chat Noir) Ladybug thought, rolling her eyes when she saw the detective do that.

She approached her partner, taking out her yoyo, and said:

" I will go to the front. You go behind us and stay alert"

"You know this better than me, Bugaboo."

"Bugaboo?"

The youngsters turned to Olivia and Dawson. The little girl was the one who asked.

" It's just one of the nicknames this 'kitty'-mouse calls me. Anyway, let's proceed carefully. Chat Noir and I will protect you. And Basil too, even if he doesn't want to."

And with that, the group moved forward.

The detective continued to move cautiously through the shadows. Suddenly he saw Ladybug walk past him calmly and carrying that red yoyo with black spots in her hand.

"Practicing 'stealth mode'?" asked the young woman without even looking at him and containing a mocking smile.

Angry, Basil stepped out of the shadows, adjusting his Inverness cloak. He stuffed his hands in his pockets and walked around glaring at the coccinellid-rodent. When he reached her, he grabbed her hand didn't have her yoyo, making her squeal in surprise and spun her backwards in a dance-like motion, thus taking the lead of the group again. He smirked as she clumsily backed away from him as he let go of her hand. She tripped over her own feet and the heroine fell on her back.

Ladybug grunted slightly as she sat up and adjusted her hat. What Basil did cause the young woman to remember a scene from the Silver and Gold fanfiction that "coincidentally" was the same as what had just happened to her.

«Aún sin esta rara coincidencia con la historia, igual que el personaje de Anna Johnson no creas que me quedaré de brazos cruzados» (Even without this strange coincidence with the story, just like Anna Johnson's character, don't think I'll sit idly by.) Ladybug thought, throwing a defiant look at the detective, even though he didn't see her.

She stood up, put away her yoyo, took out her wand and sneaked up behind Basil making sure he didn't see her.

"Incarcerous!" The young woman murmured pointing her wand at the leg of a puppet where a string appeared and tied one of its ends.

She pointed her wand at the detective's tail and carefully tied the other end of the rope to it. She put away her wand and covered her mouth with both hands to muffle the laughter threatened to break out. Basil took a couple of steps when suddenly his tail was yanked and he fell abruptly on his face.

"What the hell...?" He looked over his right shoulder to discover his tail had been tied to the leg of a puppet. "How...?"

He heard footsteps to his left accompanied by the whistle of a melody he had never heard before. He turned and angrily saw Ladybug walking past him with her hands behind her back and whistling that unknown tune. The song was Whistle Stop from the Disney movie Robin Hood. The young woman turned around, walking backwards, waved her fingers in greeting, and turned around again, walking forward.

Grumbling, Basil sat up and untied his tail. The only one who had seen that "fight" was Chat Noir, despite going all the way back. He patted his forehead as he took several deep breaths to calm himself.

«I never thought something like this would happen. Do I look that irritating when I make jokes?» the hero thought ashamed of himself.

They came to a toy ladder. Ladybug and Basil approached it to go up, but quickly moved away when they saw the other one does the same. They tried to go up again, but the action was repeated. They tried again, this time pushing the other to go up first. Irritated by that childish attitude, Chat Noir approached them and pulled the collar of their Inverness capes thus ending the 'fight' and moving them away from the stairs.

"I'll go first." said the feline-rodent. "Then Dawson, Basil, Olivia and Ladybug."

"El burro por delante." (The donkey ahead) the annoyed coccinellid-rodent murmured, adjusting her clothes.

"Al menos no actuó de manera infantil en una situación peligrosa." (At least he didn't act childish in a dangerous situation.)

At times like this Ladybug regretted having taught Chat Noir spanish, although the hero also learned on his own in order to understand her better. They went up as the boy indicated. Still angry, the heroine thought of revenge on Basil as he climbed the stairs.

"Don't even think about it, Bugaboo!" Chat Noir warned. The young woman saw the boy at the bottom of the stairs helping Dawson to finish climbing. Before Ladybug could say anything, the hero beat her to it. "I know you well enough to know what you can do when you're angry."

Basil had reached the bottom of the stairs when the young man spoke to the girl and burst out laughing at the nickname. He scowled at the heroine.

"Nice name! I think it suits you better than 'Ladybug'.

Olivia and Ladybug caught up to the men. Chat Noir looked at the girl nervously; however, the heroine took the girl by the hand and continued on their way. The feline-rodent saw Basil out of the corner of his eye, who was smiling superiorly, believing he had won this time against the young woman.

Cautiously, the men advanced. Everything was calm and completely silent, until deafening music sounded behind them, surprising the three individuals. Dawson jumped into Basil's arms and Chat Noir drew his staff and went on guard. They turned to the source of the noise, causing the fear in the detective and the hero to soon be replaced by anger: the girl had turned on a music box from a fire band!

"Oh! What the dev... Oh!" Basil asked puzzled and angry.

"Olivia, silence!" Ladybug said approaching the lever of the music box and turning it off.

Basil pushed Dawson off him and walked over to the girls. Chat Noir shrank his staff, put it away and went towards them as well. The detective spoke to Olivia first.

"Please!" he said tight with nerves, then smiled so tightly he actually grimaced as he whispered softly. "Silence." Then he turned to Ladybug and grabbed her arm tightly. "You insisted on bringing the girl, SO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR HER PROPERLY!" He released the young woman, went to Dawson and whispered. "Don't let this girl and young lady out of your sight!" After giving the respective instructions, Basil continued on his way.

Dawson saluted instinctively, just as he did in Afghanistan. He glanced at the girls out of the corner of his eye and saw they were both waving too, albeit just for fun.

"¡A sus órdenes jefe!" (At your orders boss!) Ladybug said in Spanish with a strange, but at the same time comic, tone of voice.

Despite not having understood what the young woman said, the way she spoke was enough to make the doctor and the girl laugh. Chat Noir also laughed, although not very animated because he was worried seeing how Basil treated his lady a few moments ago. As for the detective, he massaged his temples and kept walking.

After the laughter had passed, Dawson turned to the girls.

"Now, Olivia dear, Miss Ladybug, stay close."

"Don't worry, Doc. We'll be fine."

The doctor smiled at that little nickname. He took Olivia's hand and they resumed their walk. Ladybug approached Chat Noir, who looked serious and the coccinellid-rodent didn't need to ask what he had.

"Easy, I'm fine," the young woman assured, rubbing the part of her arm where Basil grabbed her. "He didn't even hurt me."

"My patience has never been so tested as it is now," the young man said as they both walked behind the mice. "If I'm mad at the 'hero' in the movie, I'll surely be mad at the 'villain'."

"That's for sure."

"By the way, I was surprised you gave up so easily on getting back at him for the 'Bugaboo' thing."

"That reminds me."

Ladybug punched Chat Noir hard in the arm. The hero rubbed the hit place and saw the young woman between surprised and offended.

"Ouch! Why's that?"

"You see how Basil has been treating me and you help him!"

"How the hell was I supposed to know he'd scoff at 'Bugaboo'? Which in my opinion is a great lack of respect, it is an adorable nickname for you."

"Chat Noir."

"Sorry."

"Going back to the subject, do you really think I won't take revenge?"

"Hey? What did you do?"

"Not stopping Olivia from turning on the music box."

"What? Wait a minute... do you remember the smallest detail of the movie?"

"Yes. I'm sorry you and Doc had to go through it too."

"Why did you let it happen!? We're supposed to be careful!"

"¡Ay por favor! (Oh please!) SentiFidget knows we've been here ever since Toby howled, so it's no big deal."

"I hope you know what you're doing."

"Tú tranquilo y yo nerviosa." (You calm and I nervous.)

Unfortunately for the hero, he didn't have many options, so as always, he would blindly trust Ladybug. Although this time he did not feel "calm" as she said.

«The roles have really changed and now I understand why Ladybug never says anything to me, the joking and childish behavior doesn't help at all.»

Unbeknownst to the five individuals (or rather four), Fidget was watching them from a high, dark shelf. They were walking along a chessboard, Basil passed by a tower. With a smile he waved the chess piece in front of the group, nearly hitting Ladybug in the face.

"Hm, checkmate," the detective said as he took his magnifying glass out of his pocket.

Dawson, Olivia, and Chat Noir circled the tower. The hero stopped when he felt a small tug at the bottom of his frock coat. He turned and saw the little girl looking at him worried.

"What's going on?"

The girl just looked back and pointed a finger. The feline-rodent followed the direction and arched an eyebrow at the sight of his lady acting strangely.

As soon as Basil positioned the tower in front of her, Ladybug subconsciously remembered when she was eleven years old and she and her best friends (Harry, Ron and Hermione) had to face various tests of protection from the philosopher's stone and the third had been a game of magic chess on a giant board. She was so absorbed in the memory she began to move around the board like that time until finally reaching the last square where she was.

"May I know what are you doing?"

Ladybug came to with a start, finding herself face to face with Basil, who was looking at her suspiciously.

"Oh, I'm sorry. When you moved that tower, almost hitting me in the face, I couldn't help but remember something."

"What thing?"

"Er... this will sound too strange..."

"As if everything else since you appeared wasn't."

"... but when I was eleven years old, my best friends and I had to play a game of chess on a board like this," she emphasized, pointing with her arms at the board where they were standing, "to get where a very valuable stone was protected and prevent it from being stolen. Chess was only one of the tests to overcome in order to advance."

They all remained silent. Ladybug made the mistake of telling something about her past, but the advantage of being from the future is they could never find out with that, so it was partly okay for her to tell Chat Noir that. What chance was there she would meet the feline-rodent in the future, he would remember it and be there at the time it happened?

And, although it pained her to admit it, the three mice in front of her were just characters from an animated movie would disappear as soon as they defeated Ratigan and SentiFidget by capturing the akuma and the amok.

Chat Noir was stunned, what the hell had Ladybug gotten herself into so that she and her friends, only eleven years old, had to risk their lives for a stone that, according to the young woman, was valuable?

«Now I understand why Ladybug tend to do dangerous heroic acts more than once have caused me a tachycardia from fright and worry»

Basil was also stunned and thought exactly the same as the boy. Also understanding in part that stubborn and reckless character. That gave him a new perspective on her, although the distrust continued. He cleared his throat to recover from his stupor, causing the others to react as well and continue on their way.

They left the chessboard. The detective surveyed his surroundings for any clues about Fidget; Looking down, he found something.

"Ah-ha!" Basil exclaimed enthusiastically, examining the ground with his magnifying glass. "Evidence of our peg-legged adversary." He pointed to the footprints with the magnifying glass. He kept humming excitedly for the clue he found until he stopped dead because something blocked his path. He sat up, finding himself face to face with a doll. "Hm... how very odd." he said thoughtfully, touching his chin.

"What it is, Basil?" Dawson asked.

"Isn't it painfully obvious, Doctor?"

"Toy soldiers are naked," Ladybug replied. They all turned to her, the young woman pointed with her hand to the package that clearly read Royal Guard with Uniforms, and they obviously no longer had. "One piece of Ratigan's plan is uniforms."

The heroine eyed the shelves warily. She knew SentiFidget was watching them high up in the shadows, so she had to be more vigilant than ever, or as she always said Alastor Mad-Eye Moody: Constant Vigilance!

Basil arched an eyebrow noting Ladybug 's strange behavior, as well as the obvious comment regarding Ratigan's plan. His eyes darted to the shelves the young woman was examining. The detective had no idea why she was studying them so carefully. Though he had to give her credit for her sharp, if somewhat absent-minded, observation and opinion.

"Indeed, these dolls have been stripped of their uniforms." Basil reiterated as he leaned down to examine the prints again, with Olivia also leaning down to look at them. "And not by any child, either." The detective and the girl looked at each other.

"That's more than obvious," Chat Noir said.

Basil ignored the young man's sarcastic comment, he had enough with the girl for him to join her as well. He raised his head and turned it observing everything through his magnifying glass, he gasped when discovering another clue.

"Hello." He got up and hurriedly examined two hollow dolls. "Someone has taken the liberty of removing the clockwork mechanisms from these toys."

"We asked who was them?" said the heroes sarcastically.

Ladybug rolled her eyes, looking up from where Basil was ...and finally saw him. Fidget's yellow eyes widened when they met her brown ones and his ears perked up in alert. The young woman gasped, quickly wrapping her arm around Olivia's shoulders. She stepped back and shouted:

"There he is! Up!" As she stepped back, Ladybug accidentally collided with Dawson, making him growl and back away causing his foot to step on the list Fidget dropped.

The bat was alarmed and moved away. Hearing his lady scream, Chat Noir pulled out his staff and looked where she pointed. Ladybug, without letting go of Olivia, took out her yoyo and went on guard.

"What?" Basil exclaimed. He looked up where the heroine indicated.

"What's going on?" Dawson asked, not understanding what was going on.

"Fidgets! He's up there, watching us!" Ladybug warned.

Basil and Chat Noir examined the marked spot, but no one was there. Dawson also looked in the direction indicated by the young woman, but he didn't see the bat either.

"There's no one," said the doctor.

Basil sighed and looked at Ladybug.

"Are you sure it wasn't your imagination?"

The coccinellid-rodent looked at the detective incredulously. She released Olivia, carefully moving her away from the discussion.

"Are you kidding!? Of course not! I WOULD NEVER INVENT SOMETHING LIKE THAT!"

"I did not say that. I'm just saying you were probably imagining things."

"Is the same! Instead of ignoring me, stop Fidget from escaping!

Irritated, Basil approached the young woman pointing his magnifying glass at her.

"Now listen to me, you...!"

"Enough! Calm down both of you!" Chat Noir intervened, placing himself in the middle of them and moving them away. "I'll go check."

"That place is very high," Basil observed, watching the young man go to where the girl supposedly saw Pegleg. "There's no way your staff could reach..."

The detective trailed off when he saw Chat Noir extend his staff making it smoothly over to the shelf where Ladybug said she saw Fidget. The feline-rodent cautiously observed the place with the help of its night vision. A bonus his Miraculous was from a cat, and even though it was now a mouse, that function still worked. Unfortunately, he didn't find him.

Dawson stirred and heard a noise below him. He looked at the ground, finding what he stepped on when Ladybug tripped over it realizing it was a piece of paper. He moved his foot away, picked up the paper and read its content realizing it was a rather strange list.

After one last inspection, Chat Noir went downstairs and rejoined the others.

"He's not here," the hero reported.

"See?" Basil emphasized.

"Are you sure?" Ladybug asked, ignoring the detective.

"Yes. I even used my night vision because that place was so dark, but I didn't find anything."

"Night vision? Basil repeated bewildered.

Labybug growled as she pulled at her ears. She just saw that winged rat! How was it possible that all of a sudden...? She immediately remembered a scene in the movie where Fidget had run away when he thought Basil had discovered him while he was analyzing the toys without their mechanisms.

«Ese murciélago sí está aquí, escapó en cuanto lo vi y por eso Chat Noir no lo encontró» (That bat is here, he ran away as soon as I saw him and that's why Chat Noir didn't find it.)

"We have to be alert," the heroine warned. "He must have escaped before Chat Noir came looking for him..."

"It is obvious Fidget is here and we must be alert. But we won't do anything based on your crazy imagination..."

"¡A que afán! (What a rush!) I did not imagine it!"

Dawson knew he had to end this discussion before things got out of hand. Not to mention he had to show Basil and the youngsters what he found.

"Basil. Miss Ladybug. Young Chat Noir

"Not now, Dawson!" shouted the detective and the heroine at the same time

"Bu... bu... bu... but Basil , miss..."

"What's wrong, doctor?" asked the hero, tired of the attitude of those two.

Suddenly music boxes are playing, and winding toys are moving along the shelves. A puppy pokes its head out of a hat and barks; a bunny is moving an egg shell up and down as a baby chick chirps inside. It then rolls by a fiddle player and a carousel. Nearly every toy in the shop is operating on its own.

Ladybug's heart began to pound out of fear because she knew what was going to happen next. Part of her wanted to find Fidget, but the other part wanted to protect Olivia. Now she thought about it, it had been a mistake to bring the girl with them, despite being part of the movie. She gripped the hand where her yoyo was, she knew she would have a chance to catch SentFidget later, but right now she had to protect Olivia no matter what.

She turned to go for the girl, but Basil stopped her by grabbing her shoulder, drawing her attention.

"Where do you think you're going?"

"I'll get Olivia out of here." Ladybug replied, yanking her shoulder free. "I promised I would protect her and I'm going to keep it. It's no coincidence that all of those toys and music boxes suddenly turned on!"

She turned around, but Basil stopped her again, this time grabbing her arm.

"That's out of the question, Miss Ladybug."

She looked back at Basil, this time with an angry expression on her face, she didn't have time to deal with him.

"Let go of me, please." she said quietly.

"No, you won't leave my side for any reason, miss..." Basil was interrupted when the heroine stomped his foot hard, thus making him release her. He grabbed his sore foot and jumped on the other one screaming in pain.

"First of all, drop the formalities and just call me Ladybug! Second, I'll get Olivia to safety and then Chat Noir and I will take care of Fidget ourselves BECAUSE IT'S IMPOSSIBLE TO TEAM UP WITH YOU!"

She turned to where she had left the girl... but she was gone. She looked around and didn't see her or Chat Noir anywhere.

"Where are Olivia and Chat Noir?" the heroine asked, then turned to the doctor. "They weren't with you?"

"That was it," Dawson replied. "I thought saw Olivia followed some bubbles and the young... I mean, Chat Noir went after her to take care of her..."

Hearing that, Ladybug's ears paled. She knew what it meant, and despite the fact that the hero was with the girl, she did not guarantee their safety. Especially Olivia.

"Oh no." The young woman ran past the good-natured mouse running like hell following the trail of bubbles. "No, no, no, no, no, no, no. NO!"

Dawson looked at Basil, who was still massaging his injured foot. Immediately the girl's scream was heard accompanied by an evil laugh and the young man shouting the little girl's name.

"Go, Dawson! Do not worry about me!" said the detective. Dawson ran after Ladybug, just as Basil finished massaging his foot. The pain subsided, but he continued with a scowl. "Damn that infuriating woman!" With that, he went to catch up with the doctor.

The coccinellid-rodent turned around to meet Dumbo's bubble shooter and behind him she saw Fidget holding Olivia by her scarf triumphantly.

"Gotcha!"

"Let her go, now!" Chat Noir ordered, threatening the bat with his staff.

The sentimonster was suddenly knocked down, thus avoiding putting the girl in the sack. Olivia was thrown from Fidget's hand and landed on the ground. Chat Noir walked over to her and helped her up. After making sure the little girl was okay, they both watched Ladybug fighting Fidget.

"Get Olivia out of here!" The girl ordered the boy.

"But, My Lady..."

"NOW!"

The hero would not leave the woman he loved alone, even knowing she could protect herself. He helped Olivia to her feet and pushed her away from the fight.

"Find Basil and Dawson and get out of here!" Chat Noir said and without waiting for an answer he joined the fight.

The girl didn't move from her place, she watched in amazement as the youngsters fought against the bat using the yoyo and the staff. She was so focused on the fight she didn't realize the adults came and stopped on either side of her.

Due to Fidget being a sentimonster, his strength was greater than in the film, causing difficulties for Miraculous bearers to subdue him.

"Any ideas, My Lady?"

"I'm on it. I didn't think he was that strong. It is noted he is a..."

"Stop right now!"

The heroes and the bat turned to the source of the voice. Basil had walked over to them and was glaring at Fidget. Ladybug felt her heart stop for a few seconds when she saw the three mice and then she looked scared at the sentimonster, who was staring at the newcomers with his mouth open.

"It's not possible!" Fidget yelled, pointing at the detective and the doctor. Then he turned to the Miraculous bearers. "They shouldn't be here! YOU TWO ARE SUPPOSED TO TAKE THEIR PLACES!"

"What?" Basil said puzzled.

Taking advantage of SentiFidget's distraction, Ladybug tackled him away from both of those present. As soon as the young woman saw they were alone, she knocked the bat down and faced it.

"As you can see, things didn't go as Ratigan planned. So right now, you're taking us with him whether you like it or not!"

Still confused at seeing Basil and Dawson, Fidget kicked the young woman in the stomach with his peg leg, managing to throw her off. The sentimonster kicked the heroine again, this time in the face, stunning her for a moment.

"Leave her alone!"

Chat Noir came to Ladybug's rescue. He went towards Fidget ready to take him down with his staff, but the bat jumped dodging the attack and kicked the hero's back knocking him to the ground. He went back for his sack, but Basil appeared in front of him, blocking his path.

"It's over! You will come with us and give us answers!"

"The only thing I'll give you, detective, is this!"

Fidget raised his peg leg at Basil and shot at them hitting him in the left side. The detective screamed and fell to his knees clutching his wound. The bat brushed past the injured mouse, retrieved his sack, and went after Olivia, who had escaped with Dawson as soon as they heard the shot. It was not difficult for him to find them and finally capture the girl, it was only enough to hit the doctor on the head with his sack, leaving him on the ground semi-conscious.

Ladybug and Chat Noir got up just as a shot was heard. Frightened, they ran towards the origin finding the detective on his knees and holding his left side with both hands. The young woman was the first to arrive, she knelt down and saw with horror the blood running between the fingers of the mouse.

"Basil! How...? Fidget didn't have a gun!"

" Apparently Ratigan made him a new peg leg." Basil answered, struggling with pain.

"What?"

"Fidget shot me with his peg leg."

Ladybug and Chat Noir looked at each other puzzled. They had fought sentimonsters before, but never anything like Fidget; truly, either Ratigan was discovering new amok powers or he was more sadistic than any villain they've ever faced.

A scream brought them out of their thoughts. They looked where it came from and saw Fidget running away.

"I'll go after him!" said the hero taking his staff.

"Be careful." said the heroine.

Chat Noir smiled at him and ran after Fidget. Ladybug gently pushed Basil's hands away to examine the wound. At first glance, the cut caused by the shot seemed to have been made with a white weapon and not a firearm, due to the fact the bullet was not found. With force and care not to touch the wound, the young woman ripped the detective's clothes so she could better serve him. The cut would not stop bleeding and bandaging it would not be enough. She drew her wand and brought it closer to the wound, but Basil grabbed her wrist and pulled the wand away from his wound.

"What the hell are you going to do with that?"

"What do you think? Heal you, thickheaded!"

"With what? 'Magic'? That was sarcasm before! NO TIME FOR YOU TO CONTINUE WITH THAT NONSENSE!

"It's not nonsense! The magic is real! AND IF YOU DON'T LET ME USE IT TO HEAL YOU, YOU WILL DIE BLEEDING OUT, YOU ARROGANT NARCISSISTIC IMBECILE!"

Basil was shocked. Ladybug took the opportunity to free herself from the detective's grip and finally heal him. She knew the Episkey spell wouldn't work, she would use the one Severus invented and taught her and Lily.

"Vulnera Sanentur!"

She ran her wand over the wound three times as Severus explained. To Basil's ears, the young woman seemed to be murmuring a song. Once the wound was closed, she kept her wand, took out her yoyo, opened it and from this sack a little brown bottle; The detective was surprised to see that, he looked at the small bottle and saw it had a label said "Essence of Dittany". Ladybug opened the bottle and poured three drops on the healed wound. She knew the dittany was enough to heal the wound from the start, but not enough to prevent a scar. After a few seconds, the heroine put away the bottle of dittany, took out her wand again and pointed it at Basil's side.

"Tergeo!" The blood disappeared from the detective's body and clothes. "There, if you ignore how your clothes turned out, it seems that nothing happened to you.

The mouse pushed the clothes aside and astonishment was reflected on his face; As the young woman told him, it seemed that absolutely nothing had happened to him. He ran his fingers down his side making sure it wasn't really an illusion: Ladybug used real magic to heal him.

"Reparo!" The detective removed his hand when he saw his clothes were magically mended, literally speaking. "There. Now yes, as if nothing had happened."

The mouse watched the coccinellid-rodent put away her wand, not knowing what to say. Ladybug felt Basil's gaze on her making her feel a little embarrassed and that was reflected in the slight red color appeared in her eyes.

"You're welcome to heal you."

Basil snapped out of his trance, making his ears red as well.

"Thank you."

Ladybug stood up and held out a hand to Basil in a clear gesture of helping him to his feet. The detective accepted it and stood up. They heard a scream and both ran towards the origin. They immediately ran into Dawson and the three kept running until they found Fidget putting in his sack...

"Chat Noir!"

The bat closed his sack and fled being pursued by the three remaining mice.

"Quickly, both of you!" Basil exclaimed. However, in an effort to lose his pursuers, Fidget pushed a huge Ferris wheel towards them. "Ah, ya, ah! Look out!"

Ladybug jumped to one side and Basil to the other, grabbing Dawson's coat and rolling out of harm's way. The mice landed on an Around the World map and watched the Ferris wheel toy go past them. Before they could sigh in relief, a giant porcelain doll swayed precariously and fell toward them. They tried to run off the map, but running just rolled the map images under them like a treadmill. Realizing neither Basil nor Dawson was following her, Ladybug stopped and saw them running towards the toy. She took her yoyo, threw it tying them around the waist with it and yanked them out just in time for the doll to crash. The two fell before the girl and the young woman released them from her yoyo. Basil was the first to get back on his feet and continue the chase followed by Ladybug.

Inside Fidget's sack, Chat Noir tries to break it open to free him and Olivia, while wondering how on earth the sack could fit tools, gears, uniforms, the girl and himself. And the bat could carry them without problems. Not to mention he felt like a complete idiot letting himself be captured by someone like Fidget, especially since he was a sentimonster transformed into a Disney character.

«This must be the most humiliating thing that's ever happened to me, speaking as Chat Noir.»

Neither his claws nor his staff managed to make even a scratch. Using his Cataclysm wasn't an option; using it would destroy the sack, but he would only have five minutes before losing his transformation. He took out his wand and pointed it at the sack.

"Diffindo!" To his bad luck, the sack didn't break. "This is the last straw!"

"What do we do?" Olivia asked scared.

The feline-rodent put away his wand and hugged the girl.

"We can only wait for Ladybug, Basil and Dawson to rescue us."

Fidget wound up a knight mounted on his horse and with a spear, he released it and the toy went towards his enemies with its spear extended. The three mice stopped when they saw the knight walking towards them. Ladybug dodged it without a problem thanks to remembering that part of the movie and went after the bat. Basil and Dawson only had a second to react; The detective jumped and grabbed onto a trumpet above him, but the spear caught the doctor by the jacket and hurled him into a dartboard, pinning him right on target.

Basil dropped the trumpet, landing on his feet and glaring defiantly at Fidget. But without warning, the fire gang came to life and the cymbals smashed into his head. Due to the blow, he made a goofy expression and his body swayed, collapsing into a pile of marbles and scattering them everywhere. Some of the marbles went in the direction of Dawson, who managed to dodge four, and a fifth managed to hit him square in the face giving him a daze.

Ladybug heard the marbles scatter; she used her yoyo as a shield avoiding being hit. Fidget approached the window through which he entered and mockingly said goodbye to them.

"Bye-bye! Bye-bye!"

He opened the window, only to find Toby growling. The dog barked and Fidget closed the window behind him, his only exit blocked. He looked around and saw an open window in the ceiling. Seeing it was the only option, he fled losing his pink baby hat in the process as he climbed up a cash register and launched himself off the lever, causing the cash register to ring and a No Sale notice to appear.

"Stop, you fiend!" Basil ordered, recovering from his daze.

The detective ran towards a toy spring horse. However, Ladybug came up behind him, wrapping one arm around his waist while with the other she pulled out her yoyo and tossed it towards the highest shelf.

"Hold on tight!" said the young woman

Basil put his arms around her neck and both climbed the shelves. When they reached the top, they saw a pile of toys and the bat quickly climbing it. They broke free and climbed. Once they reached the top, they saw Fidget at the top standing on a toy block. They jumped at him, but the bat jumped too, using his nearly useless wings, propelling him up enough to grab onto the ceiling. Ladybug caught Fidget's foot and peg leg, but Basil fell onto the top block causing the tower to topple, collapsing and he fell along with the avalanche of toys.

"Basil!" Ladybug yelled.

SentiFidget released his peg leg from the heroine's grip and kicked her several times in the head making the girl let go of him and fall too. Fidget laughed wickedly and tossed the sack out the roof window.

"Help! Uncle Basil! Ladybug! Help! Help!" Olivia pleaded.

"Ladybug! Basil! Dr. Dawson!" Chat Noir called.

Fidget climbed out the window and picked up the sack. Victorious, he leapt across the roofs and chimneys back to Ratigan's lair singing to himself:

"I got the gears, I got the tools, I got the uniforms, I got the girl! And Chat Noir as a prize! Heh-heh-heh-heh!" He laughed melodically to the beat of his song.

However, his joy faded when he heard the girl and the hero call the detective. He knew the news would upset his boss very much, but he had to warn him: Basil from Baker Street showed up and helped Ladybug and Chat Noir.
