Big Ben
Basil, Chat Noir, Dawson and Flaversham were running as fast as they could through the corridors of Buckingham Palace, they had to reach Ratigan soon and save Ladybug and Olivia before... a shot was heard near them followed by screams, the men stopped scared, that voice was Ladybug's! The first to come out of the trance was the detective followed immediately by the hero and the others.
They rounded a corner and the men stopped in horror as they saw the heroine motionless on the ground.
"Ladybug!" Chat Noir yelled scared, running towards his partner.
The feline-rodent knelt down next to the coccinellid-rodent, settled her in his arms, and checked on her. The fur on the girl's neck was marked by Ratigan's hand, Dawson checked her pulse and the doctor breathed a sigh of relief.
"Thank heavens! She's just unconscious."
Calm returned to the men. Basil knelt on the other side of Ladybug and called out to her. Slowly, the young woman regained consciousness meeting a pair of green eyes looking at her with concern.
"Basil? Chat?"
"My Lady! What a scare you gave us." said the young man, getting up and helping his companion to do the same.
"Miss, where is my daughter?" Hiram asked scared.
"Ratigan took her. I tried to free both of us, but suddenly that rat took out his revolver and tried to shoot us, luckily I deflected the shot. I think it hit the ceiling." As if in confirmation, the bullet fell from the ceiling, landing on Chat Noir's head. "But during the struggle for the weapon he managed to hit me in the head and leave me unconscious for I don't know how long."
"Luckily it wasn't long." Basil said. "So we still have a chance to catch up."
The heroine didn't want to discourage them, so the five of them left Buckingham Palace. To their bad luck, they were nowhere to be seen.
"Damn it, he ran away again!" Chat Noir bellowed.
"Of course not!" Ladybug said, looking up at the sky and pointing up. "There he goes!"
Ratigan escaped in his blimp with Olivia as a hostage. The young woman saw the flagpole, then nudged Basil, pointing out the British flag and the balloons tied nearby. The detective immediately got the idea of the heroine. The two went to the flagpole and climbed it with the help of Ladybug's yoyo. Once upstairs, they called their friends.
"Chat Noir!" called the young
"Dawson! Flaversham!" the detective called
"Gather up those balloons!" Both indicated at the same time, pointing to the balloons.
With no time to lose, the five mice began to build their own airship with the first lightning as a soundtrack.
=====MDMDMDMDMD=====
"I can't believe your death trap failed!" Papillombre bellowed. "I WARNED YOU IF YOU FAIL I'LL TAKE AWAY YOUR POWERS!"
"You know? You've had enough of me, smug Butterfly!" Ratigan bellowed at the blimp's helm.
"What did you say?!"
"It's very easy for you to bequeath your work to others! But there is a small detail you have not taken into account and for the same reason those brats defeat you over and over again."
"And what is, Oh great Napoleon of Crime?!"
"Not to use any idiot just because you felt their negative emotions! You have to analyze your opponent very well in order to send a direct and strong attack! For that reason I was 'running away' I was analyzing those kids so I knew what to do with them! But the war is not won in a day, it takes time and..."
"If you're done talking to yourself, you'd better give up once and for all!"
Ratigan cut communication with Papillombre. He thought that spoiled little girl would be quiet and scared as in her lair; Apparently using a Miraculous and spending time with those bratty heroes and the second-rate detective had her guts out, and would make her a nuisance.
" Just wait! Basil and Ladybug are smarter than you! They're going to put you in jail and they'll take Papillombre's Butterfly and Peacock Miraculouses!" Olivia assured. Then, she grabbed Ratigan's tail and yanked on it. "They're not afraid of a big, old, ugly, rat like you."
That was all, the little patience the professor had was lost due to the provocations of that little girl, and worse still, she dared to call him a rat! Looking at her, he snatched her tail and spoke to her with a harsh tone.
"Would you kindly sit down and SHUT UP?!"
Ratigan's yell sent Olivia flying backwards, knocking her over along with a stool and crashing into the blimp's edge. Ratigan turned and suddenly saw the British flag fluttering in front of him, blocking his path. Fidget cowered knowing they were in big trouble.
Basil, Ladybug, Chat Noir, Dawson and Hiram had built a hot air balloon with the British flag, the balloons and a box of matches which, luckily, they found near where they were. Ratigan glared at his enemies, turned the airship around and yelled at Fidget to pedal faster.
"Let her go, chaps!" Basil told his friends.
Dawson and Hiram untied a balloon knot and released the air. Basil stared ahead, holding on tight to the globe, a triumphant smile on his face and fierce determination in his eyes as the chase began. Ladybug was hugging Basil and she also had a look of determination on her face. Chat Noir was tethered to the other side of the globe, staring defiantly at the receding blimp.
The two airships moved left and right, up and down, at full speed, flying between the rooftops and chimneys of London, they circled the statue of Lord Nelson. They took more heights, taking their chase skyward. Ratigan looked back in frustration, his opponents were still behind him, but he was determined not to give up so easily. He headed for Tower Bridge, hoping to lose them there as the blimp navigated under the massive bridge with ease thanks to Fidget pedaling with all his might. Chat Noir looked horrified at the huge bridge, instead Basil was smiling broadly just like Ladybug without a hint of concern. As the drawbridge got closer and closer, Chat Noir let go, covering his head with his hands in anticipation of the impact. But to his relief that never happened; He opened his eyes and looked over his shoulder at the bridge they managed to pass without problems moving away.
Meanwhile, Fidget continued to pedal fast, but began to slow down because he had used too much energy, even sentimonsters could get exhausted. He was gasping and coughing from exhaustion and his tongue lolling out of his mouth. Ratigan turned his head towards him, annoyed his henchman had slowed down. Fidget climbed aboard and pointed at Olivia and explained as he tried to catch his breath.
"We have to lighten the load." said the panting sentimonster
"Oh, you want to lighten the load?" Ratigan asked 'casually', although could actually detect the sarcasm in his voice and movements. Fidget laughed, thinking his boss got his message, but the professor grabbed his ears as he said, "Excellent idea!"
And without further ado, he threw Fidget off the airship.
"No! Not me!" the bat begged, flapping uselessly to stay in the air. " I can't fly! I CAN'T FLY!"
Fidget plummeted. They were on the river Thames, despite falling into water, the height would be enough to kill the bat. The five mice went through where the sentimonster fell; Ladybug didn't know why, maybe out of pity, who knows, but she separated from Basil going to the other end of the hot air balloon where Chat Noir was, took out her yoyo and threw it towards the bat. The gun got tangled in the peg-leg and as soon as she felt the pull of the catch, she yanked the yoyo with all her might, pulling Fidget up. As soon as the sentimonster was attached to the edge of the hot air balloon between her and her partner they climbed him.
"You saved me? I thank you very much, but why?" Fidget asked confused.
"I'd like to know the same." Chat Noir asked, looking at his partner with an arched eyebrow.
She hunched her shoulders before replying.
"I guess because I felt sorry for you. And because I know you're not really bad, Ratigan made you do it."
The bat was going to say something else, but as soon as the coccinellid-rodent's hand put the yoyo away, Fidget felt a pang in his chest, immediately understanding what she was saying. The sentimonster thanked the heroine again this time with a strong hug, so strong that the young woman couldn't breathe.
In the airship, Ratigan sat on the propeller pedals and began to pedal with all his might. Thanks to that moment of immobility, the hot air balloon was almost on top of the airship. Basil stood on the edge of the hot air balloon, preparing to jump. Ladybug, still trying to shake off the overly grateful Fidget, saw the detective and got worried; she couldn't let Basil face Ratigan alone.
"Fidget, I got it! Yes you're welcome! You are safe! Now please let me go! We have to stop Ratigan!
-What?! No, no, no! Don't do it! Is very powerful!
"Fidget, LET ME GO!"
Ladybug finally managed to get the bat off her, but as a result of the struggle, the sentimonster pulled the young woman's Inverness cloak too hard when trying to stop her, which broke the pocket where the wand was kept and ended up in Fidget's hands. Before the bat could warn the coccinellid-rodent, Ladybug hugged Basil ready to go with him after Ratigan.
"Steady!" The detective instructed them to hold the hot air balloon steady.
"Wait Ladybug!" Fidget warned, but it was too late.
She and Basil jumped from the hot air balloon to Ratigan's blimp. Despite their arms around each other, Basil and Ladybug managed to hold on to the blimp's tail with their free hand ripping through it and their dangling legs nearly hitting Ratigan's head, but the professor ducked just in time. The evil professor looked at his enemies with a triumphant smile and they at the rat with fury.
Suddenly Olivia screamed, attracting the attention of the elders. Ratigan looked straight ahead and his smile disappeared, giving way to a cry of horror. They were going straight for Big Ben! Since no one was at the helm, there was no way to turn the blimp, so the airship ended up crashing into one of the clock faces.
Chat Noir, Dawson, Hiram, and Fidget stared helplessly at the wreckage of the blimp hanging and dangling in the clock hole. There was no trace of anyone. Not Olivia, Not Ratigan, Not Basil... Not Ladybug. The hot air balloon approached Big Ben; Chat Noir took out his staff, extended it and prepared to jump towards the greatest monument in the United Kingdom.
"Hey, kid." Fidget called. "Wait, what... what are you doing?" The hero jumped, with the help of his weapon, into the hole in the clock. "No!"
Chat Noir was abruptly stopped midway by a semi-transparent black-purple energy field hurled him back into the hot air balloon. The two mice and the bat helped the feline-rodent back up.
"What the hell was that?" exclaimed the bewildered hero.
"That's what I was trying to warn you about." the sentimonster answered. "Ratigan's power grows according to his emotions. At this moment he is completely mad with fury, with the obsessive goal of killing Basil and Ladybug once and for all, so his power created an energy field on the faces of Big Ben so absolutely NO ONE interferes."
"WHAT?! So Basil, Ladybug and Olivia are alone against that mad rat?!"
"Unfortunately yes. All we can do is wait and watch."
Chat Noir dropped his staff to the floor of the globe, put his head in his hands and screamed in frustration and helplessness. Dawson, Hiram and Fidget looked worriedly at the hole in the clock, hoping their friends were safe.

L...
Lady...
"What...? What's happening?"
ladybug...
"That voice... sounds familiar..."
Alex
The young woman slowly opened her eyes, immediately running into green eyes looked at her with concern, but this gave way to relief and happiness.
"Alex, thank heavens. You woke up," Basil said in a whisper since he was calling the girl by her real name. "Are you alright?"
"Yes." she answered, sitting down with the detective's help. "What a horrible landing, are you okay?"
"As well."
"Where's Olivia?"
"I don't know. Ratigan wasn't there either when I woke up. He must be hidden somewhere with the captive girl." The mouse rubbed its neck. "We did well despite having landed on the mechanism of Big Ben..."
"What?!"
Ladybug jumped up and looked around. Sure enough, they were inside Big Ben! That put the heroine on alert: The final battle began.
Both mice scanned their surroundings for Olivia and Ratigan. Ladybug knew the professor would attack them from behind, but if they covered their backs he would never be seen and therefore neither would Olivia. They were silent for a few seconds, inspecting the mechanism of the clock; Ratigan came out of the shadows, holding Olivia in his right hand and the same hand covering her mouth. He raised his left hand ready to attack his enemies by surprise. Olivia managed to get the rat's hand out of her mouth and yelled:
"Basil! Ladybug! Look out!"
The two immediately turned around. Ladybug was going to defend herself, but Basil pushed her away in time to avoid Ratigan's attack. The professor hit the detective in the face knocking him over and rolling on the gear, almost falling if he hadn't caught hold of the edge in time. Ratigan closed in on his defenseless rival and launched another attack; but this one never came because Ladybug got in the way and caught the evil professor's fist.
"I think your 'miraculous power' is over, girl." Ratigan mocked, pushing the girl with all his might, causing her feet to drag backwards.
"I don't think so." replied the heroine, stepping firmly to a stop and pushing back at her adversary. "It will not be a bee sting, but a manita de puerco* (pig's trotter)
Ratigan looked suspiciously at the young woman. What did she mean by that? Olivia understood immediately. At the same time, Ladybug twisted the professor's arm as the girl bit the hand was still holding her. Ratigan cried out in pain, giving Basil a chance to climb onto the gear, he walked past the heroine, grabbed the professor's cloak, climbed onto the gears behind the rat, and tangled the cloak between two gears.
Ratigan started to choke, causing him to drop Olivia to grab the clasp on his cloak. Ladybug got the little girl back.
"Are you okay?" asked the heroine
"Yes, I'm... look out!" Olivia yelled.
It was too late, Ratigan raised a hand and attacked Ladybug with his power from behind, knocking them off the gear. They both landed on a much larger gear, connected to another gear will crush them in a matter of seconds. Olivia got up and went for Ladybug, but the heroine didn't react, Ratigan's attack also hit her head making her lose consciousness.
"Ladybug! Wake up!" the girl called her friend, shaking her trying to wake her up. "Wake up, please!"
The young woman awoke gasping in pain. She sat up touching her injured head. A metallic noise caught her attention, Ladybug looked up and saw with horror the gear teeth were approaching and would crush them.
Seeing the gear where the girls were making its last turns made Basil run quickly and jump from the gear where he was abandoning, to his fate and trapped, his rival. He landed on a lever causing his weight to push down and the chain next to him to come up, luckily towards where the girls were.
Ladybug heard a chain noise, she looked to her right and smiled when she saw the chain moving, they were saved! She quickly carried Olivia and stopped at the edge of the gear cog.
"Ladybug!"
"Calm down, Olivia. Just wait a few more seconds."
Basil saw the girls on the edge of the gear cog and the other almost on top of them. He raised his left hand towards them. Now! Before the gears collided, the young woman jumped, extending her right arm towards the detective, both of them grabbing each other's hand in time. Basil pulled and Ladybug climbed up, hugging the detective around the neck with her right arm.
"Are you alright?" Basil asked, hugging the heroine tightly around the waist with his left arm.
"Yes!· Olivia shouted happily.
"Ladybug?"
"Yes." She answered. "My hero."
Ladybug had said it in a playful and teasing tone, but the words were real and her smile showed it. Basil also smiled at the young woman, capturing the double meaning of her words. Olivia, holding tightly to the heroine's neck, watched the interaction between the elders happily.
«They look cute together! It looks like a scene out of a fairy tale where the knight rescues his damsel!» Olivia thought sweetly.
They reached a column, jumped up and ran for the exit. Basil was holding the girls by their hands (Olivia on his left and Ladybug on his right) guiding them.
Down below, Ratigan was still trying to free himself from his own cloak, not suffocating in the process. He looked up and saw three individuals fleeing as lightning flashed through the wall to illuminate their shadows. He had fought for years against the common savage instincts of his kind to make a place for himself in the world of mice, but ever since Basil and he, Ratigan, had become enemies, fury threatened to unleash that primitive side of him. But now... that second-rate detective along with that nosy little girl with a heroic complex ruined everything. Years forging his bearing and elegance of an English gentleman went to hell because of those and now they would pay with their lives.
His wild side was released. His eyes full of fury also reflected his madness and thirst for revenge and blood. He broke the clasp of his cloak at the sight, freeing himself, and maddened he went after those pests that deserved to die. He got down on all fours, his claws piercing the tips of his gloves; his hands grew in size ripping the gloves off completely. As his strength grew slightly, his body also caused his clothes to be almost completely torn apart. Snarling like the rat he really was, he ran after them...
Basil, Ladybug and Olivia walked out of the clock, reaching the edge of the tower. The rain was coming down hard and a dense fog covered the base of Big Ben. The heroine looked over her shoulder worriedly; it was the part where Ratigan had freed himself and walked around the gears of the clock on all fours, like the rat he was, with the intention of murdering Basil and now her.
«Speaking of The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.»
"Ladybug!"
The three mice looked up and saw the hot air balloon approaching. Basil looked over his shoulder, knowing they didn't have much time to escape; He turned to Olivia, picked her up and lifted her towards the globe. The passengers on the aircraft immediately understood; Flaversham stood on the shore and Dawson held the toymaker by the knot of his apron and between Fidget and Chat Noir they grabbed the doctor by holding onto the globe.
"Closer, friends!" Basil asked, stretching as far as he could to bring the girl closer to them. Closer! Closer!
Ladybug looked at the globe and then at the inside of Big Ben. She was aware of what would happen next, but if things got worse than they did in the movie, she wouldn't let Ratigan harm Basil or worse, kill him. With that determination, she took out her yoyo.
"Lucky Charm!" she activated her power and in her hand it fell... "A wrench?! Oh, come on!"
Some growls were coming, she would solve the matter later. She put the tool in the inside pocket of her coat (her suit changed again), threw her yoyo at the balloon, entangling it in the matchbox, and began to pull; it started to rain and that made the globe go away.
"Daddy, I can't reach!" Olivia exclaimed, stretching her hand out as far as it would go. I can't reach!
At that moment Ratigan arrived and rammed Basil and Ladybug. The detective released Olivia causing the girl to fly into the air, fortunately Flaversham reached his daughter in time and brought her to safety. Father and daughter hugged each other happily, but their happiness was interrupted when Chat Noir shouted the names of his friends while retrieving the girl's yoyo had gotten tangled up in the matchbox.
Ladybug, Basil and Ratigan fell down the wall rolling down the tower. In the struggle, the detective and the young woman tried to get the professor off of them, but the rat held them both tightly by the waist and they tried to hold on to the wall, but between the damp wall and Ratigan's weight they couldn't hold on. The wall was finished and they more fell; Ratigan saw the hands of Big Ben, so he grabbed his rivals around the waist again and placed them under him to break his fall. The impact of the fall caused the three to separate, Basil fell on the edge of the hour hand. His vision blurred for a second, he recovered and realized where he was. He gasped in fright, got up and walked away from the bank, leaning on the Clock hand.
"That was close." the detective murmured, looking at the edge of the Clock hand. "Are you alright, Ladybug?" He didn't get an answer, he looked to the other side discovering with horror he was alone. "Ladybug? Ladybug!"
"Basil! Over here!" Dawson called loudly to his friend.
At first the detective was glad to see them, but his smile disappeared when he saw the young woman was not with them, so where was she?
"Basil, Ladybug needs your help!" Chat Noir yelled. "She fell to the other side of the clock hand and so did Ratigan! We can't help you!" To prove that part, the young man threw his lady's yoyo and the weapon hit the energy field.
A woman's scream made everyone turn towards their origin. Ladybug! Quickly, Basil went to the girl's rescue.
=====MDMDMDMDMD=====
Even with her powers, that fall had been painful. She slowly got to her feet, checking nothing was indeed broken, and looked around for the detective.
"Basil!" called the young
Suddenly she heard footsteps behind her, she turned around expecting to see the mouse, but to her horror it was Ratigan. Ladybug screamed when she saw the rat, she had never been scared by the threatening image of the professor, not even when she was little; but now...
«Por algo dicen "la realidad supera la ficción"» (There's a reason they say 'truth is stranger than fiction')
It could also be because she was in a dangerous situation. She turned her back on him and ran the other way, fleeing from the rat, but Ratigan made a great leap, cutting off the girl's path. Ladybug backed away frightened trying not to fall because of the wet floor.
"What's wrong, brat? Where did bravery and arrogance go?" Ratigan asked mockingly, approaching her menacingly. "Aren't superheroes supposed to be scared?" Subtly, Ladybug reached into her pocket for her wand, but her ears paled when she couldn't find it. She must have fallen into the globe when Fidget tried to stop her. "Or is it that you are not who you claim to be, the one who actually does all the work is your pet and you only get the credit?" The heroine didn't bother looking for her yoyo, she lost it when Ratigan attacked them getting entangled in the globe's matchbox. "Or do you finally recognize you won't be able to get out of this alive?"
Ladybug's foot was going back, came back to the front. The young woman looked defiantly at the rat; it's true, she recognized she was scared as she had never been in the thousands of times she saw The Great Mouse Detective because unlike seeing everything from a screen, she was living it. Despite being an underrated film in her time, 'Disney's Forgotten Classic' recognized the evil and danger of Professor Ratigan, which would not be enough to intimidate her. The heroine struck a combat pose, she would show that sewer rat what she was capable. The professor smiled evilly, bordering on madness. Oh, how was he going to enjoy that! At the same time, Ladybug and Ratigan lunged at each other.
The coccinellid-rodent ducked in time to dodge the rat's claw and hit it hard in the stomach; Ratigan doubled forward in pain allowing Ladybug to land a hard uppercut on her opponent, knocking him away. Taking advantage of her opponent's daze, the heroine went towards him and dealt him a series of direct blows to the face and abdomen. She was about to hit him with her left fist, when the professor stopped the impact by holding her hand; he squeezed her fist tightly causing her to fall to her knees in pain. He took out the claws of his free hand and struck a direct blow to her face, almost completely scratching the right side of the young woman's face. He released her and gave her another claw, this time with his right hand hitting her chin and throwing her away from him.
Ladybug landed face down, got on all fours and that moment Ratigan attacked her from behind scratching her back ripping her clothes. The heroine felt blood run from the wounds the professor was causing her. A new claw threw it towards one of the protruding details of the clock hand. It hadn't been many blows, but the difference in strength between a mouse and a rat was great, so it made sense Ratigan managed to hurt her so quickly. The professor lunged at his prey again, the young woman covered her head with her arms; The rat's attack never came because something, or rather someone, jumped from the detail of the clock hand, behind Ladybug, and landed a clean, direct blow to the villain's face, knocking him away from them.
"A rat will always be a rat, no matter how refined it is" Basil said defiantly to his enemy. "He turned around and went with the young woman. "Ladybug! Are you alright?"
"Basil!" the young woman shrieked excitedly, hugging the detective. "I am now," she answered, separating a little from him.
"Come on, let's get out of here."
Basil helped Ladybug up, they climbed 'the wall' of the hand. They went down to the other side carefully and saw their friends waiting for them floating a few meters from them. They only took a step when Ratigan appeared from behind and with one arm grabbed both of their necks, strangling them. He raised his other arm to tie them up, but Ladybug bit the arm binding her and Basil. The professor released them because of the pain and the two ran, but as they climbed Ratigan jumped on top of them and cut them off.
"There's no escape this time, Basil and Ladybug!" the professor threatened as the two mice turned away from him.
Once again Ratigan jumped on them and cut them off. Thunder rumbled as he brought out his claws again, hitting Ladybug in the face, causing further cuts, sending her flying away from Basil. The young woman rolled down the hour hand to the edge and nearly fell if she hadn't caught hold of the edge in time.
"Ladybug!" Basil yelled.
He ran to help her, but again Ratigan cut him off. The detective backed away, being careful not to go to the other edge of the spire; The professor clawed at the detective's abdomen, tearing his clothes. Basil stepped back, but that moment of distraction helped the rat to land an uppercut on his rival, launching him far away. Ladybug climbed up and watched in horror as Ratigan mercilessly attacked Basil; The rat was about to swipe the mouse in the back, but the coccinellid-rodent stopped him by climbing on his back and wrapping her arms around the villain's neck.
"Leave him alone, bully!" the young woman exclaimed, holding on tight so Ratigan couldn't shake her off so easily.
"Ladybug!" Basil exclaimed, getting up.
"Run!"
-What?!
"Let's run! I stop him!"
"Are you mad?! I'm not going to leave you!"
"Aw, so sweet!" Ratigan scoffed. "You two together FOR THE LAST TIME!"
He raised an arm towards Ladybug, digging his claws into the young woman's shoulder, knocking her off him and launching her towards Basil. The detective helped the heroine to her feet, as he did so he saw Ratigan walking towards her with his claw raised; He hugged her and turned around taking the attack for her. But at the moment of the blow, a pink light was released causing the professor to fly away from them.
"Basil!" Ladybug yelled frightened when she saw the detective received the attack in her place.
"Now I understand why the Magical Charm appeared on my back." the mouse commented with the intention of lightening the tension.
"Basil..."
The detective was going to release her, but suddenly he received another attack from behind, throwing them both to the edge of the clock hand. Basil almost fell if Ladybug didn't catch him in time. The young woman was going to climb it, but the detective yelled in warning. The heroine looked over her shoulder and before she felt an intense pain in her back she saw large claws heading towards her. The claws continued against the young woman's back, but regardless of the pain she did not let go of the detective.
In the globe, Chat Noir threw the yoyo with all his might while tears of frustration and impotence ran down his cheeks; his lady was in mortal danger and he couldn't do anything to help her thanks to that damned energy field.
Ratigan's claws were covered in blood. He breathed heavily seeing, angry and impressed at the same time, Ladybug's resistance to his attacks, at no time did her grip on Basil waver. The detective throughout the attack told the young woman to let go of him and save herself, but she did not listen to him.
"Ladybug."
"I'm not letting you go. Ratigan will not win."
The professor laughed at the words of the incredulous heroine.
"I think the blood loss affected your brain. In the position you are in, you can never beat me!"
"Never say never... rat."
Fury returned to Ratigan's face upon hearing that word. He raised his claw to attack again, but something red and black hit him hard in the groin. The professor flinched in pain and received that same red and black impact on his face, stunning him momentarily; Ladybug saw the Lucky Charm had come out of her bag, despite the attacks she was able to reach the wrench with her tail and hide it between her torn clothes and as soon as she had the chance she attacked the villain with it. With her tail she kept the wrench, she couldn't lose her Lucky Charm.
Now the professor was momentarily out of action the two of them could flee. Ladybug tried to get Basil up, but thanks to Ratigan's attack the heroine ran out of steam. They heard moans next to them, time was running out. The coccinellid-rodent looked at her surroundings, discovering the globe a few meters below the hour hand, near the tip, and that gave her an idea; perhaps only one was needed to defeat Ratigan and the other to remain safe.
She looked at Basil fondly. The detective had a bad feeling when he saw her, that look seemed to be of... farewell.
"Alex?" whispered the mouse detective.
"Basil. Thank you very much for everything, for this great adventure, which helped me realize part of what I am now is thanks to you."
"Alex-"
"When the mission is over... you will give my Miraculous to Chat Noir or directly to Su-Han."
"No!"
With the little strength she had left, Ladybug began to swing Basil. The detective held on tight to keep from letting go of the young woman, but she started to let go of him.
"Chat Noir!" the heroine called.
The feline-rodent looked directly into the eyes of his partner, immediately understanding what she wanted to do; he hated when she took that suicidal stance, but in the end it always worked to defeat the akumatized villain in turn.
Several things happened at the same time: Ratigan recovered from his agony and pounced on Ladybug, a few seconds before the rat attacked the coccinellid-rodent released the mouse detective, throwing him into the air towards the globe. Chat Noir threw the yoyo and this time it went through the energy field thus allowing him to catch Basil in the air and pull him up into the globe.
The professor clawed at the heroine, sending her to the tip of the hour hand. Ladybug held on to the edge with all her might. Big Ben rang, the young woman looked at the time; It was a few seconds before ten at night. Ratigan stood on the edge of the stalk smirking at the helpless girl hanging for her life.
"The ladybug's miraculous good luck is over." said the professor
Ratigan raised a claw, Ladybug closed her eyes in anticipation of the blow. The professor gave the claw causing the young woman to let go and fall. Basil and Chat Noir reached out to catch her as she fell towards them, but the wind blew causing the globe to fly away and Ladybug couldn't reach them.
"NO!" shouted everyone in the globe.
Ratigan himself hardly believed it, nor Papillombre, but a cruel smile spread across their faces. The professor jumped and laughed maniacally as the lightning bolts blared.
"I WON!"
"On the contrary!"
Ratigan's party was interrupted. He looked down the edge of the handle and felt his eyes pop out of their sockets as he saw Ladybug holding on to the propeller of her destroyed airship with one hand and smiling broadly. Couldn't that nosy little girl die?
"The game's not over yet!" exclaimed the heroine.
Ladybug reached into her pants pocket with her free hand and pulled out a hand bell, held it up for all to see and rang it.
"WHAT?!" Papillombre and Ratigan bellowed at once, the latter going through the pocket of his torn vest.
That was the object contained the akuma and the amok, at what point had that brat stolen it from him?! Ironically, they did not have time to answer that question because just in time Big Ben struck ten o'clock and its chimes began. The vibrations caused Ratigan to lose his balance and fall off the edge of the hand.
"AAAAAAAHHHHHHH!" Ratigan shouted falling directly towards Ladybug, if he couldn't defeat them both, at least he would take one with him.
"Uh-oh," Ladybug said, she had forgotten that detail from the movie.
She stowed the bell and quickly climbed up the propeller, but had only managed to hold on with both arms when Ratigan grabbed her feet, pulling her down. The force of the professor's fall, plus the weight of both rodents, caused the airship's ropes to break and the propeller to separate from the rest of the aircraft, causing them to fall.
"LADYBUG!" Basil and Chat Noir cried out.
The five mice and the bat on the hot air balloon watched in helpless horror as Ratigan screamed and fell along with Ladybug, who was carrying the broken blimp's propeller. They went down and down and down, until both of them disappeared into the heavy mist.
Big Ben was still giving its chimes, the six passengers looked down the edge of the globe, waiting for the magical ladybugs of the Miraculous Ladybug saving the young heroine because she was carry her Lucky Charm, right? But nothing happened, the only thing was there was the dense fog covering the ground and the base of Big Ben; for the first time one of the akumatized villains achieved their task imposed by Papillombre: eliminate Ladybug.
Olivia hugged her father and began to cry for her friend, the girl who had become like an older sister to her. Fidget doffed his hat out of respect and Dawson saluted. As for Basil and Chat Noir, neither of them looked away from where Ladybug fell.
The young man clenched his fists tightly, where the yoyo and the wand rested (the bat gave it to the boy after the crash against the clock) of his lady. No, no, no, no! This couldn't be happening! THIS COULDN'T BE REAL! He and she had managed to overcome all kinds of dangers, both Papillombre villains and Death Eaters and Lord Voldemort himself, how could Ladybug meet her end in a Disney movie?! Tears began to come out and run down Chat Noir's cheeks, suddenly something that Ladybug told him at the beginning of that adventure crossed his mind:
You already understood the story is not 'as childish' as you thought, but that doesn't mean it is still a Disney classic. No matter what happens, how bad things look, the hero is always saved and triumphs.
"Liar." the young man murmured, but the others heard him. "Liar!" the wounded hero bellowed between tears. "You told me that no matter what happened, no matter how bad things got, we would save ourselves and win! ¡Conocías hasta el más mínimo detalle de la situación y pudiste evitarlo!." (You knew even the smallest detail of the situation and you were able to avoid it!) He started speaking in Spanish not only to not reveal that, but because it was Ladybug's mother tongue. "¡Pero no, la señorita, con su enorme complejo heroico, tenía que sacrificarse! ¡¿POR QUÉ SIEMPRE TIENES QUE SER UNA EGOÍSTA DEMENTE?!" (But no, the lady, with her enormous heroic complex, had to sacrifice herself! WHY DO YOU ALWAYS HAVE TO BE A CRAZY SELFISH ONE?!) And finally he burst into tears.
Basil was still staring into space; he understood every word said in Spanish by the young man, but that didn't surprise him thanks to Ratigan's revelations, and in some parts he agreed with him, but the only thing mattered to him now was that again, because of the evil professor, He lost the person he loved most in the world. Yes, despite having been together for a short time (the fact of knowing each other was more than anything because it was a joint work) Basil experienced love again, but beyond time-space and species. The detective also burst into tears. Could he never be happy? Was it necessary Ratigan's last evil act towards him was to take Ladybug away?
Suddenly a slight screech was heard despite the chimes of Big Ben. Olivia was the first to hear it, breaking away from her father's embrace to glance at the edge of the globe. Basil and Chat Noir were the second to hear the faint screeching. They all leaned over the edge of the globe.
Below, a propeller appeared, who was driving it... it was Ladybug! She was pedaling at full speed as if there was no tomorrow, slowly climbing like a helicopter. She looked down in relief after escaping a ghastly fall would have ended her life. She looked up, hearing the cheers of her friends.
"Ho, ho! Hooray!" Dawson exclaimed happily. "Good fellow. Jolly good! Ha!"
Fidget spun around in excitement, tossing his beret in the air.
"Hooray! It's Ladybug!" Olivia shrieked happily, jumping into her father's arms.
Hiram cheered, hugging his daughter tightly.
Basil and Chat Noir watched Ladybug approaching them with a big smile despite her wounds, bleeding and her clothes torn. The young woman arrived at the globe, the detective and the young man stood up and moved aside to make way for the young woman. Quickly the coccinellid-rodent jumped from the propeller to the aircraft helped by the two silent mice.
"Ladybug! You are alive!" Olivia exclaimed, hugging the young woman. "Your powers really are miraculous!"
"Yes it is." the heroine agreed, swallowing her groans of pain.
Hiram noticed the girl's reactions, so he carefully pushed his daughter aside, telling her to be careful with the girl because of her serious injuries. Dawson also hugged the girl, but he carefully; He immediately examined her quickly, determining they should return to Baker Street as soon as possible to treat her wounds or it would become infected, to which she agreed. Fidget also hugged the girl, but not gently, so the doctor and the girl scolded the bat for not being careful.
The only ones missing were Basil and Chat Noir. The first to do so was the feline-rodent; completely forgetting the condition of his partner, he hugged her tightly as if at any moment she was going to disappear. Olivia and Dawson were going to say something to the boy, but Basil waved his hand at them not to interrupt. The young man broke the hug, placing his hands on her shoulders and between tears he spoke:
"Until you give me a heart attack, you won't be happy, right?"
"I'm so sorry to worry you like this. A pesar de saber todo, actúe sin pensar. (Despite knowing everything, act without thinking.)
"As usual." The young men hugged each other again. "You are mad."
"Really?" Ladybug separated a bit from Chat Noir without breaking the hug. "I think 'crazy selfish' suits me better, don't you think?" The feline-rodent's ears first paled, then red. He was going to say something, but the coccinellid-rodent beat him to it. "Despite being mice, I'm sure those cries will have been heard all over London."
Chat Noir rubbed a hand down the back of his neck in embarrassment. He suddenly remembered something and took a more serious stance.
"By the way, before the two of us fell to the clock hands with Ratigan you invoked your Lucky Charm and it seemed to me you used it against that rat, where is it? Don't tell me you dropped it or...?"
"Don't worry, here it is." Ladybug answered, taking the wrench out of her pants pocket. "And before you scold me for not using it to save me, remember the Lucky Charm gives you an item according to the battle; if it appeared to me as a tool it was because I had to use it to repair the propeller and save myself, not use its power. It's not time yet." the last thing the heroine said was looking askance at Basil and the others.
And talked about Basil. The detective didn't say or do anything; ever since she came back safe and sound he let the others come to her to hug her and everything, but he didn't do anything...until now. Ladybug turned to the mouse and walked over to it. She was about to say something to him when Basil stepped in ahead of her with his arms around her shoulders.
"Don't ever do anything that reckless again, please." Basil said.
"Oh..." Chat Noir said, rolling his eyes and crossing his arms, "you don't know how many times I've asked her that and... ouch!"
Olivia stomped on his foot while giving him a hush, the young man was ruining the moment. Ladybug stifled a laugh seeing the girl's treatment of her friend; she hugged Basil and answered him in a whisper;
"I'm not promising anything because this job is very dangerous, but I'll do my best."
"That will make me calmer. And speaking of calm." he separated a little from her without breaking the hug. "I think it's time to let go of those pressures and burdens you carry with you."
"What? What are you talking about?"
"I said right now you don't need to appear strong; You have lived a lot, speaking before this adventure, and it is not healthy you carry so many headdresses inside you."
"Basil, don't worry. I'm fine."
The detective just smiled and hugged her again. The young woman continued to affirm she was fine, when little by little her voice trailed off until she finally began to cry. Basil was right; Ladybug had a lot of feelings stored inside her and with this adventure more were added, which the detective realized and that's why he told her to let them go.
The rain ended, the clouds parted giving way to a big and beautiful full moon. Professor Padraic Ratigan, Papillombre's turn akumatized villain, was finally defeated and not only by Ladybug and Chat Noir but also by Basil of Baker Street, the great mouse detective.
