Chapter 1: Moving
A girl sat on her roof, watching the sunrise while breathing in the early morning air. The orange and indigo painted sky seemed to call to her as the light breeze ruffled her ginger curls. This girl was Kyreena Parker, (she went by Kyri) and she was moving to Paris with her mom. The serene moment was interrupted when one of Kyri's maids pushed open the window and reminded her she had to pack. She sighed and looked back longingly at the morning sky one last time then climbed through her window. Kyri stood in her mostly empty room. Her maids had packed up most of it but she had insisted packing up the rest of her stuff. As she walked over to her bookshelf to pack up her books, her emotional support dog, Holly, came running up to her. She pet the Australian Shepard and started packing up her books. She was packing up her copy of Wings of Fire: The Hive Queen. When her phone started ringing. She answered it.
"Hello?" She asked the person on the other end.
"Kye, are you packing up because the helicopter is arriving in a few hours," her mom asked on the other end.
"Yes mom."
The call ended and Kyri started packing up her books again. After she was done the maids took the box out of her
She stood in the now empty room she had slept in for nearly her whole life. She took out the small photo album she took with her everywhere she went. She flipped through the pages, reflecting on her life in Texas. Then something bumped into her hip. She looked down to see Holly with the leash in her mouth. Smiling, Kyri put away the album and clipped the the leash onto the vest her dog wore then headed out the door. She waved at her neighbors as they walked down the street. They arrived at the park and Draylee let Holly lose to run through the greenery. Then another girl with auburn hair pulled into a French braid and a cocky grin came running up to the bench Kyri was sitting on and put an arm over her shoulder.
"Hey there Reena, what's up?" the girl asked.
"Nothing much, what about you Korra?" Kyri asked her friend.
"Nothin, but I was thinking what if we had one last day together since you're leaving for Paris tonight," Korra suggested.
"Alright, let's do that," Kyri said, calling Holly back and following her friend.
Of course the first thing they did was shopping. Kyri chose out a dark magenta top with a purple jacket and snug fitting jeans complimented by some black ankle high boots and a golden hair clip while Korra chose a simple forest green sweater and some white leggings. Her auburn haired friend insisted Kyri got some pajamas that said, eat, sleep, photo shoot, repeat. Kyri paid for all of it, then after getting some snacks, they went to the movies together. As they exited the movie theater Kyri got another phone call from her mom.
"Honey, where are you?" Her mother asked.
"Spending time with Korra," she replied.
"Alright, you have to be home now, the helicopter just arrived," Kyri's mom said.
The call ended and with Korra and Holly close by her side, they headed back to the house.

Korra and Kyri heaved the last box into the helicopter and they stepped back as it flew off. The 2 girls stood on the roof, watching the sunset one last time. The sun disappeared behind the hills and Kyri hugged Korra goodbye one last time and she headed towards the private jet. She went up the stairs but hesitated, looking back at the star-lit sky.
"Kyri, you okay?" Her mom said.
Kyri sighed, stepping into the plane.
Kyri sat down, Holly hopping onto the seat beside her and her mother sitting behind her. As the plane took off, Kyri looked out the window at her friend's waving form and the mansion as they got, smaller, and smaller until they were a speck and nothing more. Then she put in her ear buds to listen to music and with Holly sleeping beside her she closed her eyes and let the music lull her to sleep.
