Chapter Nineteen: Finally!

I sped away quickly, my legs moving like wheels, and I shot down the room and up the stairs, crashing into Adeline, but Cole caught her just in time.

Me, however, collapsed onto the wooden flooring.

"AHOOSHSK," I said, rolling down the hall with my momentum.

I finally slowed to a stop.

Aiden was right behind me, skidding against the slippery floor.

"What happened?" Garret asked, looking between us with raised eyebrows.

I smiled devilishly at Aiden. "I think we rekindled our romance."

He smiled back. "The expression 'Kiss and Make up' should be changed to 'Kiss and Make Out'. That one always works."

Adeline clasped her hands together with delight. "Awwww! That's so cute!"

"And so beautiful," Cole sniffed, tearing up. Adeline wordlessly held out a tissue, and he took it, blowing his nose.

Miles looked between us suspiciously and unhappily.

"You know what this calls for?" Cate smiled evilly.

"Free ice cream?" Aiden hoped.

"Even better," She grinned. "Movie night!"

And that's how, ten minutes later, we all ended up sprawled out on the couch.

"Let's make a man cave!" Garret suggested, gathering the pillows up in his hands.

"Or a woman's cave," Cate interjected.

Garret frowned. "Isn't that just a kitchen?"

Our jaws dropped.

Garret then scratched the neck of his neck awkwardly.

"Let's vote on a movie," Miles changed the subject.

"Sex and Other Dirty Actions," Aiden chose for his movie.

"Pranked: The Prequel," Garret presented his choice.

"Or," Cole pulled out his movie. "The Love and Happiness of Sally Moore."

Cate considered. "So basically, we are choosing your personalities in movie form?"

"I choose Cole," Adeline winked, and Cole grinned.

"Or," Miles interrupted, "We can watch my movie."

Aiden wrinkles his nose. "And what's that?"

As it turns out, Miles's pick was Kill or Be Killed. And everyone chose that one.

As he popped the movie in, we all took a spot.

Cole and Adeline snuggled into one of the two love seats, while Aiden and Garret sat in the other.

I sat on the couch with Cate in the middle and Miles on the other side of her.

Then, Mile's pushed play, and the movie started.

The opening scene was an old guy and a young, hot eye candy.

"Son," Old guy said. "Listen to me. I had a dream."

I snorted. "Who is this guy, Martin Luther?"

"Shhhshshsushshshaisjbzhhhhh!" Cole shushed me.

I huffed, crossing my arms, and returned my attention to the movie.

"The dream was very vague," The old man continued. "It was short, but not too short, and unspecific, but specific at the same time."

"Oh, shut up!" I complained.

"SHHHHSHSHSHSHSHSH!" Cole yelled.

I shut up again.

"There was this shark," He said. "A big, big shark, and- AHHHHH!"

Suddenly, the old man was carried off by a large bird of some sort.

The hot guy didn't look phased at all, instead, he turned to the camera, completely BREAKING THE FOURTH WALL, and he winked, saying, "Finally. That guy was boring."

And then he jumped off a cliff.

After that, I fell asleep.

"Should I wake her up?"

"Awww, she looks cuteeee."

"Shut up Garret, you're too young for this."

"Let me just go get a pitcher of water..."

That voice woke me right up.

"NOOO!" I shouted, jerking upright, and knocking my head into Aiden.

"Ow!" He complained, grabbing his head.

"Ow!" I complained. "Water?!"

"I was joking," He said, straightening up and rubbing his forehead. "Haha."

"That's not funny," I complained, and turned to find Garret staring down at me with a dreamy look on his face and his head in his hands.

"AH!" I jumped, surprised to find him so close.

"Good morning, beautiful," Garret winked.

I raised my eyebrows. "Uhhhhhh..."

"Ignore him," Aiden rolled his eyes, pushing Garrets head away good-naturedly.

Suddenly, something bad happened.

"Meow."

"AHHHHH!" Aiden shouted, jumping onto the couch. "WHAT WAS THAT?!"

Everyone's heads simultaneously turned to look at Garret.

He looked back at us. "What? It's not me!"

Then, a small black kitten padded into the room.

Everyone was silent as the fluffy thing stopped in the middle of the living room, and sat down.

The kitten looked around at each of us.

"Meow?"

Then chaos broke loose.

"AHHHHHH ITS A CAT!" Aiden screamed, climbing on top of Cole.

Cole shouted in protest, and Garret burst out laughing, and the girls looked at them in shock.

Aiden began yelling nonsense, and all the while the cat sat calmly, watching.

"WHO IS THIS?!" Aiden shouted.

I didn't want to get in trouble, so I just yelled and pointed, "OH MY GOSH, CAT! What on earth-who's cat is this?!"

Then, Inky walked over to me and jumped into my arms.

Dang it.

Aiden shot me the most betrayed look. "Is this yours?!"

I looked at the cat in shock. "No! Wha-help! There's a cat on me! Ahhhh!"

Aiden slowly climbed off of Cole.

He then pointedly dusted himself off, and folded his hands calmly. "Caroline. Is this your cat?"

I looked around. "Wait, me? Me Caroline?"

"Yes you." He said.

"Uhhhh," I trailed off. "This cat?"

"Yes."

"The one right here?"

"Yes.

"Me?"

"Yes."

"You?"

"What?"

"Ummmm," I said, running out of things to say to avoid answering. "Well, I wouldn't say that the cat doesn't not belong to me."

"What?" He asked.

"Yes." I said. "Exactly."

"AHA!" He burst. "So it IS yours!"

"DARN RIGHT HE IS!" I agreed. "AND HES STAYING MINE! YOU CANT SEPARATE US!"

"Woah!" He said, holding his hands up. "I didn't say I would separate you. It can stay, I guess. Hopefully I don't have a heart attack though."

"Really?!" I said, a huge smile lighting up my face.

"Yeah. Whatever," He responded.

But for once, I was so happy I didn't even notice his annoying word choice.
