Beautiful Barista
Hey guys, glad to share these minsung stories with you all. Enjoy! (p.s. Covid doesn't exist in this world.)
Jisung was making his way down the street in his new neighborhood, taking in the sights and trying to continue familiarizing himself with the area. He had recently moved in with his best friend and fellow music producer Chan, and was somewhat excited to find a few new places to spend time, and hopefully find inspiration. He preferred quiet or open areas where people were sparse or spread out and he could watch things from a distance. So, when a small coffee shop came into his view he was automatically inclined to check it out.
He looked back and forth before crossing the street and happily entering the café, hearing a small bell chime above him as he pushed the door open.
"Hello, welcome."
Jisung completely froze, his smile falling to an expression of slight shock as he looked ahead.
There in front of him was the most beautiful boy he'd ever seen. The natural light in the shop seemed to brighten as if the sun itself felt the need to shine across him. Jisung wasn't sure if he was even human, to look that good. Clear skin, light brown hair that brushed down across his face framing his features perfectly, chocolatey eyes, and bright pink lips. Angelic, that's more how he would describe him.
"Um..." the boy stated shifting his gaze a bit with a small smile before looking back to him. "Can I help you with something?"
Jisung snapped out of his trance a bit blinking a few times. He then felt his cheeks flush over in embarrassment. "Oh yes, of course, sorry." He forced his feet off the ground to move up to the counter. He pretended to look up to read the menu, but he was so nervous he didn't comprehend and of the words. "I'll just take an iced americano please."
"Ok, what size." The boy asked politely.
"Uh just a medium." Jisung replied, not able to meet his eyes, he did however sneak a look at his name tag:
[Minho]
"Alright that'll be $4.00." Minho stated as he typed the order into the machine in front of him.
Jisung got his card from of his wallet and handed it to him carefully. He then took the opportunity to look at his face again as he swiped it and pushed a few more buttons.
Minho looked up at him for a moment catching him look away quickly. He noticed the slight pink reach his customer's face and bit back a small chuckle. "Alright." He stated printing the receipt and handing them both back to him. "Can I just have your name, and then that'll be right out for you."
"It's Jisung."
Minho wrote the name on the cup. "Just a moment then." He then turned around and started working on his drink.
Jisung let out a breath he didn't know he was holding, stepped aside to the counter labeled pick up, and waited. He watched slightly behind the counter as Minho moved around the small space, creating his drink before unwillingly peeling his eyes away again and looking around the shop. Don't be creepy Jisung, what's wrong with you?
"All ready to go." Minho's smooth voice met Jisung's ears once again like sweet caramel, causing him to look back over and see his drink being placed on the counter.
"Ah... thanks." He took it smiling and finding himself have to look down again, overwhelmed by Minho's beautiful smile.
"Have a great rest of your day... Jisung." Minho stated flashing one last smile before turning and walking back to his work.
Jisung grabbed his cup with both hands as he tried not to drop it at the sound of that voice saying his name. For a moment he watched Minho wanting to call out to him, but what would he say? Hell, he didn't even know if he had a chance. Someone as beautiful as Minho must not have been single.
In the end he didn't have the guts. He simply walked out of the shop and started making his way back home.

"Chan you won't believe what happened to me today!" Jisung exclaimed excitedly as he burst through the front door of their shared apartment.
Chan, who was on the couch, looked up at him calmly being completely used to his energetic entrances. He noticed what was in his hands and answered the other. "You got yourself a coffee?"
"No. Well... yes, but that's not the exciting part." The younger spoke quickly.
"Okay what happened?" Chan finally gave in.
"The barista!" Jisung exclaimed. "My god Hyung, you should've seen him! He was the most gorgeous person I think I've ever seen... I swear he wasn't even human, he literally looked more like an angel."
Chan gave a small laugh. "Well he must have been something special, I've never seen you this worked up over a stranger before."
"He was... everything about him. His voice, his smile..." Jisung went on. "I swear I never believed in love at first sight, but today..."
"Woah, slow down there, you don't actually know him Jisung." Chan told him. "So what, did you talk to him?"
"Well...no." Jisung admitted. "But I just couldn't, Chan-hyung if you'd seen him!"
Chan sighed a bit. "If He was that special you should've at least tried, c'mon you're Just as cute, if not more so than anyone else, he would've been crazy to turn you down."
"Well damn... I wish you could've been there to give me that confidence a half hour ago..." Jisung frowned.
"Never mind, don't worry about it." Chan sighed. "Help me finish up these lyrics and maybe you can see him another time, yeah?"
"Yeah I guess you're right..." Jisung replied before moving over to help his friend with their work.
-&-
Jisung had been working on his lyrics with Chan for about an hour drinking his coffee as he went along. When he finished it he looked at the cup and his eyes widened. "Oh my god."
"What?" Chan asked seeming concerned by his shocked voice, and wondering if something had gone wrong."
"His number..." Jisung muttered to himself.
"What?" Chan asked.
"He wrote his number on the cup." Jisung repeated a bit louder. He hadn't seen it before since it was written in a somewhat muted black marker and the coffee had also been dark, but now that it was gone the neatly written 10 digits was clear as day.
"That's great!" Chan exclaimed. "See I told you, are you gonna text him?"
"I don't know... I'd be pretty stupid not to right?" Jisung debated, picking up his phone in the process. He unlocked it and went into his contacts before freezing and staring at the screen.
"Mm more crazy than stupid I think..." Chan replied. "Just do it, obviously he's interested."
"Yeah but like you said I don't even really know him." Jisung pointed out.
"That's What him giving you his number is for." Chan replied. "Jisung if you liked him so much you should go for it. Nothing great can happen if you don't give it a chance to."
"You're right." Jisung nodded feeling a slight wave of confidence as he added the contact to his phone and opened a new message.
"That's my boy, now let me see." Chan hopped off the couch and made himself comfortable next to his roommate on the floor.
"No!" Jisung debated turning his phone away.
"Oh come on, I'm invested now!" Chan complained.
"No, I don't need you reading my love life... literally." Jisung stood up and stepped over the older. Making his way to his room.
"Fine, But you better keep me updated lover-boy!" Chan called after him.
Jisung shook his head with an amused smile before closing his door behind him. He walked over to his bed, falling back onto it with a dramatic flair, before putting his phone in front of him and looking at the screen. He chewed his bottom lip slightly as he thought and then began typing.
Jisung: um... hi! This is Jisung from
the coffee shop earlier...
You gave me your number.
Jisung waited for a bit, dropping his phone on his chest and looking up at the ceiling, going over the words he'd just typed in his head and hoping they didn't sound weird. To his surprise, maybe because he was half expecting to get ghosted, a small ding came from his phone shortly after. He picked it back up eagerly.
Minho: Yeah, hi Jisung!
Jisung: why did you btw..?
Give me your number.
No offense.
Minho: hm, cause you're cute I suppose
Jisung: Cute?? Really, me?😳
Minho: Yeah you. ;)
Jisung: well thanks...
I gotta be honest when I first saw you
I was a bit blown away. I'd never seen
someone so beautiful.
Minho: Ah, so he does know how to flirt.
Jisung: flirt?? Uh, no! I mean it!
I mean... you're beautiful and it's not
like I don't want to flirt with you it's
just... that's not why I called you
beautiful...
Minho: ok... ok... I'm just teasing you 😂
So...what, do you plan on coming by the
coffee shop again?
Jisung: Yeah, sure if you don't think
that's creepy.
Minho: not at all...
I get off at 7p.m. tomorrow. Wanna
come by just before?
Jisung: uh... yeah sure!
Sorry... I've never done this before.
Minho: it's okay
I won't bite ;)
Jisung: Can I... walk you home or
something?
Minho: Yeah that'd be great!
I can't wait to see you again
So cute ☺️
Jisung: ha... ☺️☺️☺️ ok, see you then.
Minho: see you ;)
Jisung felt his cheeks burn warm, and they felt a bit sore from smiling so much. He dropped his phone on his bed before grabbing one of his pillows and curling onto his side, hugging it tight in his grip as if it's settle some of his excitement. "He called me cute!" He then shouted into his bed, the blanket muffling the sound. He then shot up quickly. But what am I gonna say to him, in person? What do I do? How am I gonna dress? A million questions circled in his head mixing with the butterflies and excitement.
"Chan!" He called out his roommates name as he hopped off the bed with another wide smile, hoping his friend could give him some suggestions.
He felt like a kid on Christmas, he hadn't been this happy in forever.

Jisung pulled at his slightly oversized hoodie awkwardly as he stood outside and slightly down the street from the coffee shop. He stepped toward it before automatically whirling back around and pacing in the same place. He had been repeating this action for almost ten minutes and was beginning to even drive himself crazy. Come on Jisung he's just a person. It's just a date. You can do this. Like Chan said, he's obviously into me, just go with the flow. He tried to hype himself up in his mind and yet he still hadn't taken a step toward the shop. He sighed in slight defeat, taking out his phone.
It was one minute till 7:00. He needed to just suck it up and go. He did just that, maybe it was the fear of being late, but something caused him to finally go toward the shop and enter. The familiar bell rang over his head, causing Minho to pop up from under the counter and smile when he saw it was him.
He was even more beautiful than Jisung remembered.
"Hey, I just have a few things to put away and then we can go okay?" Said boy questioned, his smile feeling warm.
"Um, yeah!" Jisung nodded, finding it hard to say much else.
"Great! Mind flipping the sign on the door for me, I'll be right back." Minho replied walking into the seemingly small back room with a box of items.
Jisung let out a heavy breath when he was out of sight before turning around and changing the sign on the door from open to closed. He then stepped into the shop a bit looking around nervously as he waited. Before he knew it Minho returned, no longer wearing an apron, and carrying a small bag.
"Ready." He stated opening the small door and walking around the counter to stand in front of him.
Jisung felt his cheeks flush over once again when he was suddenly within such close range to him. He really isn't human is he? How can one person look good from every angle. "Ready." Jisung nodded smiling slightly.
Minho chuckled lightly at him before turning towards the door. "Wait." He stared out the windows at the somewhat set sun shining through the front of the store. "The lighting is really good, do you wanna take a picture with me?"
"Sure." Jisung nodded nervously.
"Great." Minho smiled getting his phone out of his pocket and opening the camera. Waiting as Jisung hesitantly moved closer to him to be in frame. "1...2...3..." he switched his expression. "1...2...3..." he smiled as he moved the phone away from there faces and looked at it. "Cute..."
Jisung blushed again, taking a step away from him. "Should we get going now?"
Minho nodded before they both stepped out the front door. He locked it behind them before pointing to the left. "My building's this way."
Jisung nodded before they fell into step in that direction.
"So... what do you do Jisung?" Minho asked after a short moment of silence.
"Me? Uh well... I produce music with my roommate Chan and our other friend Changbin." He replied rubbing the back of his neck nervously.
"Really?? That's so cool!" Minho lit up slightly.
Jisung gave a small laugh feeling his heart skip a beat at the other's support of his passion. "We aren't super famous or anything, but we do have some tracks out."
"Do you sing?" Minho asked seeming engaged.
"No, not much at least, I rap mostly." He replied. "We all do."
Minho nodded. "Cool cool. Hey, if you ever do need a vocalist let me know. My friend Seungmin had the voice of an angel, and my other friend Felix, well, talk about someones voice not matching there face."
"Thanks I'll keep that in mind." Jisung smiled.
"What's your group's name." Minho asked.
"3racha." Jisung replied.
"I'll be sure to look it up. I love music, actual being a barista is just a day job, my real passion is dance." Minho confessed.
"That's awesome!" Jisung smiled. "I've always been super impressed with really good dancers."
"Well I'll have to show you some time then." Minho replied giving a slight smirk in his direction.
Jisung felt his cheeks grow hot again in contrast to the slight chill in the air. "I'd like that." He felt his fingers slightly graze against Minho's hand as they walked a bit closer due to the sidewalk narrowing, and was surprised to feel how cold it was. "Are you cold?"
"A little." The other admitted.
Before he really knew what he was doing Jisung slid his fingers across Minho's palm, folding them into the shape of his hand. He felt Minho grip a little tighter as their warmth spread between each other and they both smiled.
He felt sparks at their touch.
-&-
Minho and Jisung had continued to talk as they walked down the streets, the light slowly fading as it grew darker. Minho would often pause to look or point something out, since Jisung was new to the city, and would stand there just holding his hand for a bit to explain.
Jisung didn't mind however because he also wanted the time to slow down, and the moment to last longer.
"I forgot to ask, what year were you born?" Minho asked them as they began to walk again after looking into the windows of a used bookstore.
"2000." Jisung answered, feeling it a little bit easier to speak now, even if every time minho looked at him he still felt his breath catch.
"Hm I was born in 1998, guess that means I'm older." Minho smiled at him.
"Should I call you hyung then?" Jisung asked.
"Mm if you want." The older nodded.
"Well then..." Jisung paused. "Minho-hyung."
Minho looked over at him a slight smirk tugging at his lips. "Flirt."
"I am not..." Jisung looked away to the pavement of the street. He really didn't want their time to end, he didn't want to let his hand go, he didn't want to stop seeing his smile. However, he was starting to recognize some familiar scenery. "Are you sure you know where your own place is, because I'm pretty sure we just went around the same block three times."
Minho sighed, stopping to face him. "Alright alright you caught me, my apartment building is right there." He pointed across the street. "I've been stalling, but I guess it is getting kinda late..." he looked down at their folded hands, running his thumb over the back of Jisung's hand.
"A little..." Jisung agreed, also looking to their hands.
"I should probably go up then..." Minho sighed again, this time lighter, as he met the other's eyes.
"Probably." Jisung mirrored, scanning over the other's face again, once again noticing his features. Even in the dim lighting of the few street lights he could tell how beautiful he was.
"Ok." The older stated.
"Ok..." Jisung replied.
Minho nodded. "See you later then." He let go of his hand starting toward the building.
Jisung felt the cold automatically return, almost like something was missing. "Minho."He stopped him before he could walk around him, catching the other by slight surprise. He didn't know if it was the night atmosphere, or the fact that Minho smelt bittersweet, like coffee beans and vanilla, but something came over him. He stared at the older's bright lips, before parting his own and leaning in to softly connect them, closing the space between them.
Minho felt his eyes close and gave back, lightly moving their lips together a bit.
Jisung pulled away only slightly whispering, "sorry."
He started to step back, but Minho caught the back of his neck with his hand, pulling him into another, slower, and a bit deeper kiss. He smiled at him as they both pulled away and opened their eyes to meet each other's gaze. "You don't have to apologize."
Jisung smiled as well licking his lips slightly as they finally did step away from each other.
"I'll text you later." Minho stated stepping around him and onto the curb.
"Okay." Jisung turned around to watch him.
"Goodnight Jisung." Minho waved.
"Goodnight Hyung." Jisung gave a small wave in return before watching him carefully go across the street and enter his building. He then brought his fingers to his lips starting to walk in the direction home. He laughed slightly, slapping his cheeks lightly since they felt quite hot still.
He picked up the pace of his walk, breaking into a slight jog. He couldn't wait to get home, one to tell Chan about the date, and two to talk to Minho again.
