Jungkook || JiaYing

Ever since that day of helping Jungkook get out of that presentation Jiaying can't help, but feel as if he's been keeping a particular eye on her.

She'd usually catch him peeking at her during class, following her in the halls, or just seeing him once in the blue at the library where she'd usually study at.

It's honestly been bothering Jiaying. She can't get over the fact that she knows he's been doing this, yet has he even noticed she caught onto it?

To make sure of this theory, Jiaying decided to purposely leave her class late to see if Jungkook would perhaps leave before or after her.

She unhurriedly packed book by book into her bag at a slow pace. Just enough time for the many classmates to flee before herself. But it wasn't a surprise when turning her head back to still see that kid, Jungkook packing slowly his belongings as well.

The two glanced at each other briefly before Jiaying looked away hesitantly,"Is this just a coincidence?" She spoke softly under her breathe.

It wasn't normal for Jiaying to have this feeling at all. Matter of fact, it was totally foreign for her since she's usually kept to herself.

So she decided to leave the class in case he followed her like usual. Just moments from leaving the class she could hear the door open again, indicating that someone has left.

Jiaying waiting a few seconds before pulling out her phone, and flipped up to the camera. In which acting as if she was taking a selfie before quickly clicking into her photo album. Jiaying zoomed up into it to find her classmate, Jungkook standing in the near far of the background,"I knew it."

Jiaying slipped her phone into her pocket as she made her way out into the courtyard of the college—still certain Jungkook would be following right behind her.

The bell rang just when Jiaying got out into the court, so she couldn't see the figure of Jungkook because the crowd of students.

She waited.

The crowd got smaller and smaller until one person was standing there with a dazed look, Jungkook.

"You think I haven't noticed—you following me around all this time." Jiaying furrowed her eyebrows while making way to the tall boy.

Jungkook's eyes instantly grew wide from how close Jiaying was walking up to him. In fact, just the thought of her being face to face with him caused a shade of red on his face.

"I helped you one time, and this is what I get? If you are trying to say thank you than please do already. Then afterwards you can just leave me alone because I'm getting frustrated."

Jungkook cleared his throat and shook his head,"I'm actually sorry."

Jiaying lifted an eyebrow,"For?"

Jungkook's throat became dry and his heart raced slightly,"I thought you could've used a friend."

There was a brief silence before Jiaying heaved out a sigh,"I'm complicated—I don't think you would want me as a friend; plus, I don't like people anyways."

Jiaying just shrugged her shoulders with a careless look, but as she attempted to walk away Jungkook called out to her,"I can prove you wrong!"

Jiaying turned her head,"The people close to me has proved me right—I doubt it."

"P-please."

The expression on his face was nothing but pity. She somehow knew how he felt if wanting to help but wouldn't get the privilege too.

"You can try."

From that moment on the two had a slow paced bond that lasted for a little over a year. It was quite a shock to many of Jiaying's classmates because Jungkook just didn't seem like the type to be bold enough to start even just a conversation among people. It was no secret Jungkook felt very little of himself, even though he never really confessed it Jiaying always felt that way. From the shyness, timidness, and lack of socializing Jiaying came to the conclusion that he must've been lonely for some time now.

Admittedly, Jungkook has some how made Jiaying feel more at ease. Jiaying too had personal problems that left her being so disconnected from her family. In fact, she'd never admit how much she missed them. How badly she wished things to be normal for her. Jiaying felt as if she showed her face to them she'd feel extreme guilt and ashamed.

If it was one thing Jiaying hadn't lost from herself it would definitely be her pride. Even if she felt insecure at time it only reminded her that everything wasn't going go exactly her way.

Even with Jungkook, she felt as if some of her worst insecurities dwindled away when with him.

They had a good bond. In fact, many people thought they were dating but that wasn't the case. Jiaying didn't think of love first when it came to Jungkook. Instead it was a need feel to protect him after all the scenes of him completely helpless.

Jiaying definitely knew of Jungkook's anxiety, but she definitely didn't know for the love and attraction he felt for her.

Only one day Jiaying would realize how blindly she was passing by even her own feelings towards Jungkook in a loving way.

"There's a graduation party being held later on today." Jungkook fiddled his fingers. By saying that he was hoping for Jiaying's attendance. Only if she went would he as well.

"You're going?" Jiaying lifted up an eyebrow in a surprised state. She knew how he acted at parties and even seeing it happen first hand had shaken her a bit. It was something she just didn't want to witness again."You know—there'll be a lot of people there."

"I know." Jungkook sunk his head into the table watching Jiaying close up her studies from class.

Not much dialog was made since 1, they were in a library. 2, Jiaying didn't really know how to respond.

She didn't want to risk Jungkook having an anxiety attack especially at a graduation party," Lets just—have our own celebration. I never really liked parties anyways."

In an instant, Jungkook's face lit up. A joyful smile tugged on his lips as he gave eye smiles to Jiaying. Finally, how he felt welcomed to a celebration of its own since parties itself were just too much to take in.

Jiaying smiled softly at Jungkook,"What's the best part of a party?"

"The cake!"

With that—Jiaying and Jungkook set off to a small grocery store. Collecting many of the ingredients to make a red velvet cake, which Jungkook persisted that'd be the flavor. It's not like it really mattered to Jiaying, but she wanted this mini celebration to be for him rather, so it all counted towards him.

When returning everything bought to Jiaying's house Jungkook was speechless. Not only was someone actually welcoming him, but someone actually liked his company—he adored Jiaying's attention. She was the only one.

Jungkook eyed the space Jiaying called home. It was perfectly neat, and he even notices the keyboard setup in the corner. He remembered the tips of his finger tips once playing the keys— for someone who had forgotten about him. It seemed, Jungkook felt a burden.

Jungkook once had a friend dear to him, and he was depressed at the time due to family issues. It only got worst when the traumatizing accident happened to Taehyung. With the loss of his dear friends memory—Jungkook couldn't bear starting from rock bottom. He was lonely for quiet some time. Not until recently when Jiaying gave him a chance to start a friendship again—he's grateful for it.

Jungkook stirred a bowl of batter as he gradually click the speed of the blender higher and higher; causing the batter to fly out the bowl and onto the two bodies.

From the looks of Jiaying's house—the last he would want is to dirty it. Jungkook hovered over the bowl as the batter flew up onto him. He felt so shocked that his hands shook trying to click the levels down. It was only until then Jiaying pulled out the plug that the blender would finally stop.

"What the H-... Look at you!" Jiaying stood in front of Jungkook with a plug hanging out her hand, staring at him with a gaped mouth.

Jungkook was splattered in red velvet batter. Lips dry, heart pounding, and his face flushed red from embarrassment —he didn't utter a word.

Jiaying, as usual, just sighed out and kept quiet as well. If it was one thing both of them had in common it was the lack of socializing.

Jungkook just stood as Jiaying grabbed a paper towel and gentle leaned over to wipe off the splatters. At first, it she tried wiping away the batter on his shirt, but Jungkook mentally lost it when she cleaned his face.

His breathe hitched each time she came in contact to clean away the mess. Even the small smirks she gave from his clumsiness sent Jungkook head over heels.

The shy eye contact between the two was nothing more but brief peeks. Jiaying wasn't oblivious, she knew the effect she was having on him, but it honestly didn't bother her. This wasn't the first time Jungkook's face gleamed red in front of her.

It's just—he looked innocent in times like these. She could admit that very well.

Just as Jiaying went to clean off his cheek Jungkook's body hitched away from her touch.

In response, Jiaying glared at him shockingly, also a bit of a bummer,"Damn it...I was enjoying the face you were giving." She muttered under her breathe, but loud enough for Jungkook to hear.

Jungkook's Adams apple bobbed up as he swallowed quiet hardly. A compliment surely wasn't expected to come out from Jiaying. Causing him to shyly cover his arm over his face.

"Was is too much? I'm sorry." Jiaying pulled away her hand that held the dirtied paper.

"You really have no idea." Jungkook's stare averted to the floor.

It was silent for a moment, and even Jiaying felt a bit uncomfortable from the response. It was only then when Jungkook gradually pulled his arms away from his reddened face - the obvious shine on his forehead showed he was sweating—not because he was hit but because he was nervous.

Nervous for a confession that'd either bring good or bad fortune.

This resulted his mouth to go dry and unbearable stomach butterflies that wasn't easy to ignore any longer,"I've really grown to—like you lately.." Jungkook's hand slightly trembled as he fixed the collar of his shirt.

Surprisingly Jiaying's face blushed at his confession. In a way, she knew these feelings, but pushed it away because Jungkook was just someone she felt needed a friend more than a lover.

But that's how things work now-a-days. You befriend someone, get to know them, create an unbreakable bond, and some point along the way catch feelings. For Jungkook, all he ever wanted was for someone to care for him, and Jiaying was more than enough.

"Y-You aren't responding...I made you uncomfortable, didn't I? Damn—I knew I shouldn't had said anything. I knew you wouldn't feel the same, and it's making me feel like an idiot that I'm so naive to kind people -"

Jiaying suddenly wrapped her arms around Jungkook's waist without exchanging no words. She felt like she didn't need too, and hoped Jungkook would get the memo.

She admire Jungkook for his boldness because she was always too hesitant to say things. Jungkook was all she needed - Jiaying desperately needed someone to open her eyes. That life isn't so horrible as she destined it to be.

Jiaying payed her head against the pounding chest of Jungkook, while listening to his rapid breathes inhale and exhale,"You don't have to say no more—I understand. But most importantly I want you to understand me too."

Jiaying lifted her head to meet the gaze of Jungkook's, as his palm landed on the top of her head. Smoothing down the stray hairs that peeked up.

"May I asked you a favor?" Jungkook licked his lips nervously.

Jiaying gazed at him lovingly while nodding her head in agreement,"Anything."

"Promise you'll make me happy—that you'll never let me walk alone."

"Promises are constructed by liars. I will never promise you something that'll be broken, but I'll guarantee you—I'll treat you the way nobody ever has, Jungkook."
