Namjoon || SeungMin

SeungMin couldn't believe how much damage Namjoon done, especially to her fridge.

SeungMin opened up her refrigerator to see little to nothing or just empty cartons lying on the shelves. She gave out a sigh.

She decided to go to the grocery store, as she slipped on her long trench coat with a scarf. She even checked her wallet to see what she could manage.

To be honest, SeungMin took her time getting the groceries and coming back from the supermarket. The night was peaceful while the street lights and passing cars gave light to SeungMin. It was only the constant cold wind that made SeungMin hurry home.

As she made her way up to her apartment there she saw Namjoon. Crouched on the floor with his back and head leaning against the wall. He turned his head lazily to the girl who held two grocery bags weighing down her arms.

"SeungMin-ah~ how long have you been gone? It's already dark out." Namjoon pouted and complained like a little kid. It sorta reminded SeungMin of a little boy staying up late just to see his mom come back home from work.

SeungMin gave a half smile and just shrugged her shoulders. She walked over to the door and placed down the bags.

Just as she took out the apartment keys she felt a tight grip around her wrist. Which resulted in her body being tugged down against Namjoon,"You know, a friend once told me that the sun loved the moon so much that he died every night to let her breathe."

SeungMin was completely silent only her eyes caught the glimpse of Namjoon letting out an annoyed sigh following up with a sarcastic chuckle,"He believed in these orbs of blue light. If you're lucky to see one then you'll be able to make one wish—that poetic bastard."

Namjoon sat up and reached out his hand for SeungMin's,"Don't pay attention to him. His charisma was just like him—short."

SeungMin had got the chance to open the door and cook up dinner which Namjoon was happy enough to accompany her in the kitchen.

Namjoon sat at the small dinner table not too far from the kitchen as he kept blabbing on about his day. He was practically an open book and would tell you anything.

"Min—you don't talk a lot. I started to notice it more and more, but it's alright you're an expert listener." Namjoon lifted up his hand and formed a "just right" sign (👌🏽) with a smirk that showed off his dimple.

"Oh! By the way, I have money to pay off the apartment bills." Namjoon dug into his pocket, and threw out a stack of cash rubber-banded together.

SeungMin's eyes practically popped out her sockets when she saw the giant stash of money lying on the table,"H-How?!"

Namjoon scratched the back of his head with a guilty smile,"I'm not proud to say how, but you don't have to worry about the apartment bills from now on."

SeungMin tilted her head slightly and just nodded to his words. Namjoon got up and peeked over her shoulder to see what she was cooking.

"Chicken! SeungMin-ah, I love you!" Namjoon dramatically squealed out like a fan girl.

SeungMin shook her head as her lips tugged into a small smile.

This guy.

The longer Namjoon was SeungMin's roommate the more they started to create a friendship with each other. The guy who always wanted attention, who always forgot things, and who could never control himself. But he did do as promised, pay the apartment bills. SeungMin would soon find out how he got this money.

~

Namjoon tugged the bed sheets SeungMin covered herself with,"SeungMin, just tonight! Pleeaaaassseee~"

SeungMin had been ignoring Namjoon's request all day. Recently he's been out hours at time almost every night to party. Resulting in him being drunk or just have the nasty smell of weed or cigarettes on him.

SeungMin cared for Namjoon's health especially if he was going to live with her. Except Namjoon kept bugging her to give him another chance to go out since yesterday was the same situation.

Out of annoyance, SeungMin got up and sighed out,"Fine! But you're not doing anything because I'm coming with you." SeungMin got off her bed and pushed Namjoon out of the room, so she could put something decent on.

Afterwards, SeungMin covered herself up in a thick coat, as she followed Namjoon to a place she wasn't familiar with. A place where people who could care less for their self worth hanged at.

Namjoon was greeted by many men, and lots of woman; especially those who barely covered themselves. It wasn't like SeungMin could barely see them anyways due to the flashing colored lights that blinded her vision.

But of course with SeungMin accompanying Namjoon like a shadow, people questioned her presence. Namjoon would just smile and greet her as his roommate and best friend.

SeungMin was proud that he said so, or else she wouldn't dare to open her mouth to these strangers.

SeungMin sat at the bar drinking a glass of orange juice while keeping a strict eye on Namjoon. She couldn't help but notice the many woman wanting to dance on him to the loud, obnoxious music.

It was interesting actually, SeungMin never seen so many girls with little to no respect in the same place at the same time. She sipped her orange juice and observed them with no shame for who saw.

SeungMin put down her drink to use the bathroom. When finding herself there her whole body flinched from the sudden sight of two females having their way with each other in an open stall. It sure ass hell didn't take SeungMin long to use the bathroom before making a flee.

How the hell could Namjoon be so obsessed with this place? It lacked of everything SeungMin would call good in her opinion. Maybe clubbing just wasn't her style.

SeungMin came back to find some strange girl with her chest popping out her shirt. She twirled her blonde locks while sipping on SeungMin's orange juice.

SeungMin practically hurled to herself and completely blocked out the thought of drinking that again.

Only one thing worried her, which was Namjoon. He wasn't on the dance floor anymore for some reason.

SeungMin scanned the area around her before her eyes landed on a familiar face. He was with a group of older fellows that wore an expression of seriousness on their face. Namjoon took out a couple of small bags containing crushed green specks.

SeungMin then knew how Namjoon was able to obtain all this money. By selling drugs his wallet and costumers would stack up easily.

Namjoon and the group of older men left to out in the bitter cold. Without hesitation, SeungMin made her way through the crowd of bodies that had the smell of cigarettes, weed, and alcohol. She practically held her breathe in there while making her way outside the club.

There was Namjoon about to light up a blunt in his hand, but SeungMin snatched it away. Her hand met his face before any words could escape his mouth.

From her face Namjoon knew how disappointed she was for dragging her out to an atmosphere like this. SeungMin grabbed Namjoon's hand, and tugged him away.

She brought him home without peeping out a single word. Only he knew how disappointed she was for seeing how he truly was, and how he managed himself even with money.

"I'm sorry." Namjoon spoke up, but of course, didn't get a reply back.

From then on Namjoon and SeungMin just didn't have that same click. The house grew quieter as well as Namjoon's nights grew longer. Sometimes he wouldn't even come back home leaving SeungMin worried.

This day particularly left SeungMin feeling more lonely than usual. It's been a whole day since she last saw Namjoon because he'd usually be past out on the couch, but the house was empty of him.

In fact, Namjoon was the one who truly made it lively around here; and she missed that spark of happiness he'd provide.

She went about her day until it was time to rest her head for another. Her eyes landed on the uncovered window that exposed the starry sky.

"The sun loved the moon so much that he died every night to let her breathe." She mumbled out softly to herself. Never had Namjoon's words ever leave her train of thoughts.

She closed her eyes.

-meanwhile-

Namjoon snorted up the white sparkling crystals that laid upon the wooden table.

His eyes burned red, but he wasn't alone. His two friends accompanied him in the small apartment that was theirs.

Lately, Namjoon has been constantly visiting them, which would always result in taking a couple puffs or lines. It was a bad habit that all were too stubborn to admit was an addiction. To them it was just a short vacation away from reality.

Namjoon couldn't decide what was worse; Being so high on coke that he could barely distinguish the feeling of euphoria and pure panic; or one day take one too many lines, and risk the fact that he'll never see SeungMin's sweet innocent smile again.

Namjoon reached into his pocket to take out his phone. His vision was unsteady but some how managed to dial SeungMin's number.

Surprisingly she picked up,
"SeungMin-ah, pleasehelp me."

Call has ended

The way his voice trembled just didn't settle right to SeungMin. She quickly got out of bed, and threw on a pair of boots and heavy coat before making her way out the apartment.

It snowed tonight, heavy too. The bitter cold nipped at SeungMin's exposed cheeks turning her skin a light shade of red. Her hands too, started to take a toll on the cold weather; but she still ran in the snow despite the harsh weather.

Multiple situations flooded SeungMin's head that it caused her eyes to water up from how scared her thoughts made her feel. She was worried and prayed to herself that'd she find Namjoon, waiting perfectly fine for her.

Of course, SeungMin was hoping for a happy ending, but this is reality.

Her body came to a halt as her eyes landed on a slumped body on the floor having a complete withdrawal.

SeungMin ran over to the body and cupped her hands on his icy cheeks. In panic, she desperately tried to sit him up; as she could only cup his shoulders and head into her arms.

She held him tightly in her arms, despite the tears that dripped down on his frozen cheeks that broke a cold sweat, eyes unblinking, barely being able to breath and flinching to every little sound as he fights the crave for one more line.

SeungMin tried shaking Namjoon, and constantly screamed out his name desperately. His gaze was hazy and his breathing was hardly providing.

"Someone—please help him!" SeungMin cried out loud to the empty street that started to grow more from the snow.

She stroked her hand on his cheek; as his chest slowly and gradually rose less and his cold cloud-like breathing soon came to his last breath.

SeungMin fell silent while her body stiffened up,"Namjoon?"

The street was silent except for her sudden callings for him that failed to get a response. Her hand shakily clutched his hand and gave a firm tug on it, but limply fell to the ground when she let go.

Her breathe hitched,"Namjoon, look—"She grabbed his hand again and placed his palm over her icy cheek,"I-It's SeungMin-ahplease lookI'm right here!"

Her voice shook and cracked while more tears blurred her vision. Her fingers clutched onto the lifeless body, as she leaned her head back bawling out in agony.

Her cries were indeed, pitiful, Her prayers were unheard, and her hope was shattered.

It was only then SeungMin could see a blue orb of light blurred through her vision of tears. The blue light looked like a star, but gleamed brightly and portrayed the color blue very vibrantly.

He believed in these orbs of blue light. If you're lucky to see one then you'll be able to make one wishthat poetic bastard.

SeungMin wiped her sleeve over her wet eyes as she gazed up at the blue star,

"Please—save Namjoon."

SeungMin shut her eyes from the burning sensation she received from each tear. Her shoulders bounced gracefully to her silent sobs.

An icy sensation cupped over her red irritated cheek. SeungMin fell stiff, and instantly gazed down in her arms to see Namjoon gleaming upon her with a worried expression,"Shh—don't cry."

Namjoon sat up and wrapped his arms around SeungMin tightly in his embrace. Tears filled his eyes and sobbed silently to SeungMin's bawling.

How worried SeungMin had been to witness Namjoon almost lose his life right before her eyes. How she worried she had been to never be able to see his smile again.

He constantly smoothed his hand over the top of her head to comfort her.

Namjoon pulled away from the hug to stare deeply into her burning red eyes. His heart raced from the sight knowing that he was the reason behind her agony right now.

Namjoon cupped his hands over SeungMin's cheeks while bringing his face closer to hers. Colliding lips together for the slightest bit of warmth as the snow fell peacefully on the frozen bodies.
