I wrapped my jacket tighter around me. The campfire kept giving out.

Why did they hate me in the village?! I wasn't the one that was doing stuff! It was the dumb imps...

I stared at the pile of wood that used to be my fire. I sighed before standing up.

Sitting down isn't going to help... unless I want to freeze to death.

My boots were mostly keeping my toes from freezing off. It was annoying that I have lived in this region for two years and still have not gotten better suited clothing.

I sighed as I trudged through the inch deep snow. The snow continued to fall around me. It wasn't much for a while since it melted before but... it came back.

"You are a sick man!" A woman's disgusted voice ran out.

"I can't help it! I like talking fine girls like you." A guy's flirty voice chuckled.

"Just help me out or else." The woman's voice said.

"Okay okay. Find a young lady named (y/n). She'll help you. Just go straight west and you'll find the village."

"Thank you." The woman's voice said.

The sound of trudging snow passed underneath me.

I don't want to talk to anyone. I just watched the man. He mesmerized me a lot.

He was the guy that everyone said to stay away from since he flirted with many women, but my curiousness just kept me watching him.

I talked to him. He is a little flirty but he's a nice guy. After you get past the part that he's just around you because of being a girl.

Apparently that woman had left a few months ago. Supposedly the Demon Warlock was dead but his imps still ran around aimlessly.

So I know that he isn't dead. Because those imps are still alive.

Snow crunching around me made me jump in surprise.

I reached for my sword but only got air.

Shoot! I must have forgotten it at my camp! No, crap!

The footsteps got even closer until it came into a run.

I got knocked to the ground before getting a sword to the neck.

Gah! What the-

"Are you seriously impersonating a woman again?!" He angrily said.

"What?!" I yelped out.

"Stop luring men into the forest from being attractive girls!" He yelled again.

"You want me to now?!" I hissed.

He growled at me.

I had enough...

I rammed my knee into his chest, making him wheeze and get knocked up from the force.

My neck stung.

Great.. He actually cut my neck...

"Now do you think I am an imp?" I said, clearer.

"No..." He coughed. "Ow..." He groaned.

I laughed softly. "Sorry." I walked over to him.

"It's fine.. That was my fault for literally jumping to conclusions." He said, looking at me.

I noticed how he looked. I completely recognized him.

But... wasn't he gone from the island? I saw him leave...

"Travis?" I asked, curious.

He looked surprised for a moment. He looked at me. "(y/n)?" He softly asked.

"Dude..." My jaw dropped. "I thought you left!"

"I thought you were gone!" Travis exclaimed right as I exclaimed to him.

"How!?" We both said.

We both looked at each other. "Stop it." We both said again. "You go first." Again at the same time.

I started laughing. How were we doing that?

He chuckled. "Alright. I did think you left. Where have you been?"

I shrugged. "Around the island. I was kicked out of the village."

He frowned. "Why?" He asked.

I sighed before telling him.

He sighed. "That's horrible..." He said softly.

I nodded before coughing. My body shook from freezing.

Travis looked at me as he touched my forehead. "Dang (y/n)... You're freezing.." He said.

I didn't answer.

He frowned.

The cold was suddenly getting to me. I looked down and noticed snow was inside my boots and clung to my back and skin. I coughed again, accidently falling into him.

He was surprised as he grabbed me. "(y/n)... hey. It'll be okay..." He picked me up from under my knees and under my back.

My fingers were already a pale blue since yesterday. He noticed and broke into a full run.

Is there a reason he's doing this for me?

Probably... But...

I wonder if this... is how hibernating... animals think...

My eyes started to close.

"No (y/n)! You. Stay. Awake." Travis snapped at me.

"But I'm Tired..." I whined, sleepy from the cold.

He bit his lip as he ran up a hill. "We're almost there... Hang in there..."

I could barely keep my eyes open now. I gently closed them, but heard Travis telling me to not.

But I couldn't fight it any longer...

There was a gentle hum beside me. Or behind me... I couldn't tell.

The only thing I could know was I was no longer freezing.. More of overheating.

I groggily opened my eyes slightly, my eyes hurting from the sudden light.

"It's okay, (y/n). Don't freak out.

I breathed lightly, my shoulder touching something above me.

I felt something touching my hair and a warm cloth on my head.

I looked up and saw Travis combing his fingers through my hair.

He smiled at me gently before I looked around the room.

We were on a bed.

The room around was very plain, other than a few normal things.

He chuckled lightly before starting to stand up.

I quietly sat up when he did.

"I'm glad you woke up..." Travis started.

I looked at him. I was quiet.

He smiled. "Hey... I wanted to tell you something... But I couldn't find you to tell you until now." He said as got into the bed and sat in front of me.

"Yeah? And what's that?" I asked.

He smiled before quickly touching his lips to mine.

I was utterly confused at what he was doing.

He chuckled as he moved away. "I love you, (y/n). And I always have."

I looked at him quietly. More heat rose to my cheeks, making him grin lightly.

"Hey... Um..." I stuttered lightly.

He chuckled as he moved beside me and put his arm around me.

"I-I love you too... Travis." I stuttered with a soft smile as I leaned on his side.

He smiled at me. "You aren't one to talk, are you?"

I shook my head lightly.

"Then you're more of an action type of girl?"

I thought for a moment before nodding.

He chuckled. "Good. Cause I'm the same way."

I giggled quietly before looking down and playfully smirked.

He raised a brow in confusion before I pulled my head back up and kissed him this time.

He laughed lightly before kissing me back.

I always wanted to do that.

And now, I could.
