Koto was raised by her dad, so she can tend to be loud and very talkative at most times. Despite this, she makes sure not to interrupt people (she does have to catch herself sometimes). Koto is kind to everyone and always gives a second chance when she feels it is deserved. Most people think because she's kind she'd let herself be walked over by people. However, that is not the case. Koto is always more than happy to speak her mind and defend herself and others even if she has to be rude to get her point across. In addition to this, even if she seems like a ball of energy and always distracted, she's actually quite a hard worker and makes sure to always get her work done.

Quirk Description:

Koto's quirk allows her to change the frequency and pitch of sounds she creates. This can be done with her voice or by instrument. Each frequency and pitch has its own effect. Though when these sounds are combined into a song they can create numerous wonders. An example is that shadows can become tangible, water can dance or the ground can crack. These are just some of the many things.

Quirk Drawbacks:

-When singing or talking with a frequency that she hasn't had time to train with, Koto's throat becomes extremely sore or in worse cases, she'll end up coughing up blood and needing her throat healed.
-Koto's frequency has the potential to harm her team if she doesn't control them correctly so she's always having to keep her head cool and clear in battle.
-If she alters a frequency for a whole song when playing and hasn't trained to use it for long it will start causing her hearing to slightly distort or vanish and in worst cases, if she pushes herself too far she can lose consciousness.
-Using her sounds to make something big happen can have bad effects, it varies depending on what she's doing.

Background:

Koto's parents abandoned her at an orphanage when she was only 4 because of her quirk. She never meant to do it but on occasion, her quirk would activate when she was talking and she unknowingly was using a pitch so high it would constantly make her parent's heads ring for half an hour after. Eventually, they got sick of it. So there she sat in the orphanage. It was when she was 5 that she was adopted by Present Mic, or Hizashi Yamada. He had heard from a friend of his that the orphanage they volunteered at had a problematic kid who was crying at night and causing issues with her quirk. It was explained to him that the kid had to be isolated to keep others safe and she wasn't allowed to speak, in fear it would hurt others. He had come to check it out and see if he could help, but instead of just helping, after talking with the girl he decided to adopt her and raise her as his own. Since then she's been as happy as can be and has gained much more control over her quirk.

Extra / Fun Information:
-

Hizashi (Present Mic) has Koto on his station constantly. She helps host most of the time and is known by the name of Lyra on the station. So no one is aware it's her.

-Koto had an interest in music and loud sounds of any kind as she was growing up. So Hizashi enrolled her in music classes for any instrument she wanted to try if he couldn't teach her. Eventually, she found her passion for the guitar, and because of her quirk, it happened that she was a natural singer.

-No one in 1-A is aware she's the daughter of Present Mic, but they always make the joke. Which Hizashi and Koto always laugh about. (Eventually, they'll find out)

-Koto plays her music on the station a lot since Hizashi asked her to and she never minds playing

-Because Koto is Hizashi's daughter she knows most of the UA staff and is on good terms with them. Though of course, she doesn't get any special treatment other than being able to get away with eating sweets in class.

-When working with agencies, she works with Present Mic's.

-Gets along with Jiro amazingly and tends to play music with her. 100% these two have deffo put a show on before in private and Koto is trying to convince Jiro to go on the station with her.
