Very Lifelike Drawings
Dean was examining a sleek black pencil he held in his hand. He had discovered it lying among some leaves in the ditch when he was walking in his woods. But the thing was, the pencil looked like it was just taken out of the package yesterday. He figured he might as well keep it, no luck finding who it belonged to anyways. He liked to draw fairly often, and this one was different. He used the normal pencils, like 'H', 'HB' and '6H'. But this one had a R engraved at the end of it. He'd never heard of an R pencil before, so his interested was piqued.
Dean took out his notepad, and sitting down at the table in his living room, wondered what to draw. It was October, nearing Halloween, so he decided to draw Halloween related things.
It was now an hour later, and he had drawn a pack of wolves, a vampire, some bats and a Jack-o-lantern. He liked this new pencil. He was able to use it for whatever shade and texture he wanted.
A thud near the front of the house caused him to drop his pencil and look up. Standing up, he went through the house to the back porch. Opening the glass sliding doors, he saw a jack-o-lantern lay there, a jaggety smile looking back at him. It was exactly like the one he had just drawn...
Dean yelped as suddenly bats came out of nowhere and began flying around him. He swatted them away, and gazing into the back lawn, he saw a pack of snarling grey wolves. Howling, they looked his way. Dean quickly ran inside, slamming the door shut, locking it, and pulling the curtains closed. It was now dark, so he felt his way along the wall, then finding the light switch, flicked it on. As he turned around, a cold fear immediately clutched his heart. A vampire stood there, it's red eyes trained on Dean.
Dean felt his mouth go dry as they stared at each other. Grabbing beside him, Dean grasped an umbrella from the stand beside the door. The vampire lept at him, and Dean smacked it across the face. He didn't look back, but dropped the umbrella and sprinted back to the living room. A crash from behind him altered him that he was being followed.
Dean burst into the living room, throwing his chair aside. He yanked open the drawer under the table, snatching his eraser. He grabbed his notepad, then screamed as he was thrown down. The vampire was almost on top of him, and Dean managed to kick it away. Now desperately he was rubbing the eraser across the vampire drawing as he saw it in his peripheral vision stalking towards him. Then, as if it were never there, the vampire vanished as Dean rubbed away the last of the picture. Dean let out a shuddered breath, letting his arms fall to the floor.
A howl sent him scrambling up, and he set to work quickly erasing the rest of his drawings.
Later that day, Dean put the pencil in a box, and buried it, where he hoped it would never be found.
