Mentions of suicide attempts, abuse. Mental instability
Yunho and Mingi switch bodies, Yunho is in danger. Mingi tries to save him.
Mingi was used to disappointment, his parents never cared nor did his friends. His history repeated itself numerous times. The scars on his wrist and in his heart replayed like a never-ending tape.
He dealt with the bruises, the broken bones and the blood. It all came as a regular morning for him. He could memorise what each bruise was from, the one on his left pec was from his father's boot, the one along his back from his fathers shed chain. The one on his neck from his mother's hands. It was nothing new, these wounds were a part of him and never really faded. Each one was a sickly purple and had a ring of red around it.
On a regular day, he would get up, get hurt then head to school but today was different, not only had his surroundings change sending a wave of fear down to his stomach, he wasn't beat when he walked into the living in fact no one was there to greet him with a daily smack but rather an empty room. The change sends panic rushing through his body as he started to shake. His breathing grew irregular and he started sweating. He couldn't breathe properly and his arms started to hurt.
He wasn't used to this, what was happening, where was he, who was he. He thought as he looked into the mirror on his left. Why did he have a different face? He pushed his anxiety away as he took a deep breath to calm down, he needed to get home but he didn't know where he was, he can only assume he's still in Korea from the signs on the streets. With a shuttering breath, he walked into the room he exited from and tried to find the identity of this person he was.
After three hours he found the owner's student ID.
'Jeong Yunho
Class 3T
student number: *********'
Now he had the identity of the male he needed to check to see where he lived. After another hour of guessing the boy's password, he managed to get in and check social media seeing how he acts and what he does.
@YunBun: sometimes I hate Gwangju
Ok so he's in Gwangju, that's only 3hrs away if he guessed. He could make it home. He knew the boy would be wondering what was going on in mingis family. He couldn't leave the boy to face that. Sighing he looked in the boy's school bag and found a wallet. The boy was loaded but mingi didn't bother to dwell on that, he took enough money for a train ticket to Seoul and apologised, he then turned to the boys closet and picked some clothes out
Once he picked he quickly got dressed apologising multiple times in a mutter. After he was satisfied he brushed his or er Yunhos teeth and grabbed a coat, the boy's wallet so if and when they change back the boy could get home again. He rushed to the Train station and ordered a ticket and nervously took a seat when his train arrived. Throughout the ride, he was jittery and couldn't stay still.
Once he got to Seoul he flew off of the train ignoring the indignant squawks of people he pushed past using his added height to an advantage and rushing up the stairs to at a time. He passed a few students and elderly but didn't stop to greet them and continued rushing. He made sure the wallet was still tucked into the coat pocket before speeding up. In record time he made it to the street just behind his house and skipped the busy street for the alleyway that his bedroom window was in and sighed in relief seeing it open. he called the fire escape and got just below his window and jumped up, grabbing up to the windowsill and pulling the window open further, peeking in and getting in once he was sure it was clear.
He winced when a scream reverberated off the walls. "shit you shouldn't have screamed" he said aloud shocked at the soft tone of the boy's voice. The screams blocked his voice and he heard rapid footsteps approaching the room, he cursed and dove under his bed. He waited for the door to open and recognised his own legs. He sighed in relief and jumped when the door slammed shut. Sobs racked his body as it collapsed to the floor, he left it five minutes before he got out from under the bed and calmed his own shaking body.
"Hey," he said simply and awkwardly.
"what that's me how?" was his answer and he awkwardly smiled.
"it seems we switched bodies" Mingi in Yunho's body spoke.
"seems so" Yunho replied with mingis own voice. It was scratchy from crying.
"any idea how?" Mingi asked and Yunho shook his head.
"no all I remember doing is eating dinner and sleeping.
"I was returning home and passed out. " Mingi said and Sighed.
"I don't know what to do, how can you survive this?" Yunho asked and mingi chuckled though it had a more cute tone to it he didn't mind.
"It happened ever since I was born, but it'll get worse" Mingi briefly mentioned.
"how?" Yunho asked and mingi sighed.
"a simple rule: never to scream," Mingi said simply and Yunho gasped and profusely apologised mingi just shook him off and sighed.
"that doesn't matter right now, we need to find a way to change back so you can head home," Mingi said and Yunho whined.
The two stayed silent trying to figure out what happened and how to reverse it. The silence lasted long into the day and early night. They both ignored their rumbling stomachs and continued to rack their brains for anything, making comparisons every so often. Yunho was the first to fall asleep his back still lead on the door, mingi sighed and picked up his own boy and lead it on the bed, he couldn't leave him so he decided to stay although his bed wasn't big enough for their height he squeezed against the wall and fell asleep stressed.
The next morning they both woke up and were still in their different bodies. Mingi cursed in his head and sighed. Yunho sighed sadly and stayed lead in bed. "what are we gonna do?" Yunho asked and Mingi grumbled.
"I don't know" the tense air didn't last as a small laugh tumbled from mingis bodies lips. It had been a while since he heard himself laugh. "what?" he asked and Yunho shook his head. "it's so weird seeing myself frown when I'm usually very happy." Yunho said with a grin and mingi started to chuckle.
"it's been a while since I heard myself laugh," Mingi said and Yunho frowned.
"Why don't you run away?" Yunho asked and mingi sighed.
"I can't, my uncle is a policeman if he saw me running away everything will just get ten times worse. " Mingi explained and Yunho grunted.
"Alright," Yunho mumbled.
The two started brainstorming again but came up short once again. They stayed in bed all day ignoring their stomachs once more and hiding away. It wasn't until noon that something happened. They started getting tingles all up and down their bodies and then there was a sharp pain in their heads causing them to pass out. Within ten seconds they woke up again only back in their original bodies.
"what happened?" Mingi asked and Yunho shrugged.
"I don't know" Yunho replied.
"whatever it was it's done now but you need to go, I don't want you being caught in here and getting hurt because of me," Mingi said and Yunho refused.
"no, you are coming with me" Yunho stubbornly announced and mingi rolled his eyes.
"I don't even know you" Mingi pointed out and Yunho scowled.
"I know enough to say you are not safe here. " He answered and mingi groaned.
"just go please I'm fine here" Mingi growled and Yunho raised a brow.
"no you aren't, you have no choice but to come," he said and got up shoving all of Mingis things inside a big bag. Mingi didn't fight him and just watched as his room grew smaller.
Yunho then grabbed mingi and pulled him up. "since the window is open well go through there as I'm assuming that's where you came through, and then we are catching the train back to my place no questions asked." He ordered and mingi sighed before jumping out the window and grabbing his things from Yunho so the male could get out too. Luckily his parents didn't care if he wasted away in his room so he didn't need to worry about them seeing them on the run.
Mingis anxiety started to form as he thought about all the sudden changes going on that he wasn't used o but bit his lip and followed Yunho. The two walked down the streets towards the train station and got onto the next train to Gwangju. This was a new safer chapter for mingi but he didn't know if he wanted to see it through to the end,his mind was crafted by years of abuse and torture and he wasnt sure if he could deal with all the experiences and emotions hes gonna face on his own. soon enough Yunho will get bored of him and he will be trusted into a place completely new.
Rule number one: You should never take someone away from something they've known their whole lives because the sudden change can cause more damage than them staying.
Rule number two: Never scream
