Head pieces or helmets or hats or whatever you call them, are not that useful by themselves. And you just look weird. Chest plates are more stylish. Here are some helmet types

Leather helmet: not wood, but leather

Golden helmet: same old gold

Chain hemet: crafted with fire wtf?!?!( what the fudge)

Iron helmet: looks like iron

Diamond helmet: still awesome

Helmet durability:

Leather helmet: 55 damage

Golden helmet: 77 damage

Chain helmet: 165 damage

Iron helmet: 165 damage

Diamond helmet: 363 damage

Here are the enchantments:

Protection: damage on you goes to armor instead

Fire protection: protects you from fire

Blast protection: protects you from explosions

Respiration: lets you breathe under water longer

Aqua infinity: increases under water mining rate (lame)
