~ Lily ~
"Hello Lily."
I didn't want to turn around, because I already knew who it was. So I decided to talk. "What is this..."
"Why did you find this place?" Jess asked. No, she didn't ask how, she asked why.
I finally turned, making sure my sword was ready to grab when I needed it. "It was an accident."
"So was that." She nodded to the head. "Somewhat."
I shook my own. "I really don't think it was..."
"I'm not who you think I am." She took a step forward.
I immediately stepped back. "What? You aren't a cold blooded killer? Then explain the head, Jessica. At a distance."
She looked at me, then the head, then back at me. Finally, she closed her eyes. "It was ten years ago. My husband and I-"
"I knew it!" I whispered. "I knew there was someone else in this house before."
She nodded. "We were married for six years, ever since I was twenty-one. He was the stubborn type of man that didn't back down to anyone... including me. We fought often, even though we loved each other with all of our hearts. Then one day, he got into this fight with another man. The man had a bad reputation, and was targeting my husband. He came into this house one night, and slayed my husband in the kitchen. I quickly managed to take him down afterward, avenging my husband's death."
I didn't know how to react to the story. "Who's the..."
"That is my husband there." She replied.
A look of horror washed over my face. That was her husband?! "Why would you do that?!"
"I was so lonely..." She murmured. "He was taken away from me... I had to do something..."
"You killed a man and put another's head in your house?! There should be no excuse for that!"
"Please do not think of me as a monster." She pleaded. "I did what I had to do in self defense. Anyone else would have done the same. It was either me or him. And I had to dump the bodies. No one knows what happened except you and I. I trust you, Lily. Please, please don't leave me too."
I wanted to run out of there. However, she was blocking the way. So I just stared at her with a pained expression.
"That will never happen again." Jess assured me. "I promise. It can just be you and me. Together forever! You can be like the daughter I never got to have."
Daughter? This woman was insane!
"Please Lily. I need you."
I took another step back. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. This sweet, innocent woman was a killer. But she did do it in self defense... But she also kept the head of her husband because she was lonely. She had more issues than I thought. I didn't know what to do. What would she say if I wanted to leave? Where would I go?
"Nobody knows this." She admitted. "So it's just between you and me. No one else can know." She may not have meant it that way, but that last part made me think she was threatening me.
I nodded without thinking.
She brightened up, grinning wildly. "Oh, thank you for giving me another chance!" She was about to hug me, but remembered I was still in shock.
I didn't really mean it that way. I had meant that I wouldn't tell anyone, and I had hoped she would be like, "okay you can go." But I felt really bad. She was just a person that was recovering from a broken past... no! She murdered someone! So what if it was in self defense... she didn't have to keep her husband's head!
I didn't know what to do. I just stood there.
She noticed my hostility. "I'll, um, I'll go downstairs. We can talk when you're ready."
And with that, she left.
I stared at the ground. I was scared. I didn't know what to do.
I guessed that I had to keep my guard up, but play along with her game.

I thought she was overprotective before, but now she won't even let me go out of the house alone.
It was a few hours after the incident, and we didn't talk much. She caught me trying to go outside (only to pet the horses!), and went against the idea. I cooperated, but it irritated me. So I was stuck inside for most of the day. There were other cases where I could tell she wanted to keep an eye on me, like when I was going to go up to the room. She said, "Oh, no. The couch down here is comfier than that old bed." So I reluctantly sat down and had to be downstairs, near her. I couldn't blame her, though. She didn't want me going upstairs alone, where I could sneak into the attic again. For whatever reason I would do that, I don't know. I never want to see that ever again.
But then there was the time where she went too far.
"I was thinking." She called from the kitchen. "Since you're 17 and all, you still need to go to school and all. So maybe I could homeschool you?"
I cringed, thankful she couldn't see my expression. "No thank you! I don't think I really need to learn anything more."
(Do they even have math classes in Minecraft? When is the Pythagorean Theorem going to help anyone? Are they just learning about cubes in geometry? Okay sorry I'm becoming aware)
"Okay!"
I was really getting restless. Finally, I stood up and confronted her.
"Can I please go outside? I could really use the fresh air." I couldn't believe I had to ask permission.
She pursed her lips in thought. Then, she closed the book she was reading, and got up out of the chair. "Okay, let's go."
It was better to go outside with her than not go outside at all. Or was it?
We spent the next 10 minutes walking around, and petting the horses. She tried to make conversations, but I shut them down with one word answers.
Then, we went back inside. On my request, of course. She sat down in the living room.
"Can we talk now?" I asked.
She smiled. "Of course. Sit." She patted the spot next to her. After I sat down, she spoke again, "So. What do you want to know?"
"How did it feel?" I blurted out. "To, ya know."
"To end a life?" She sighed. "Well, it was devastating. But I had to do what was right. Avenge my husband's death."
"Okay... What was your husband like?"
She chuckled. "As I said before, he was a stubborn man. Didn't like anyone telling him what to do. But he was kind hearted and stood up for his friends."
"And the man that... ended him?"
She shrugged. "I'm guessing he was a member of GATU."
"What was his hoodie color?" I remembered what she said about the classes.
Jess stared at me with a puzzled look. "What?"
"You know." I said. "GATU has those hoodies that have different colors for each class."
She jolted her head back as she recalled the information. "Oh, right! Yeah those... his was brown."
"Brown..." I repeated. I had to remember that. "Wonder if that's a high up person."
"Yeah. Anyways, anything else?"
I thought about it. I wanted to joke and ask if she planned on killing me, but that was probably too inappropriate. "No, I think I'm good."
"Good." She patted her thighs once in anticipation. "Oh! I forgot, we need rabbit."
I tilted my head. "Pardon?"
"For tonight's dinner. Rabbit is the only thing I don't have. I need to go to town to get it..." She frowned in thought. "But I can't leave you home alone... no, that's too dangerous..."
"I can go with you." I offered the idea with a hopeful expression.
She looked at me, then smiled. "Oh, alright. Let's see how well you are at riding horses now, eh?"

A little bit later, we were deep in the market. It seemed to recover fully from the attack, even the woman (the one who was robbed) was the same as before.
Jess was looking for a certain stall that sold rabbit related things. She didn't let me leave her side throughout the whole trip there, which was a problem for me. I had to sneak away so I could ask a certain someone a few questions. Or just one simple one that would answer everything.
We got to the stall, owned by an old man. That may sound rude, but he was literally a wrinkled blob with white hair and slits for eyes.
"Hi Frank." Jess greeted him cheerfully.
"What?" He asked, leaning closer.
"He's short of hearing." Jess told me. She then turned back to him. "Hi! Can we get some cooked rabbit?!"
"No, I don't have any slimeballs!"
She frowned. "How is that even... nevermind. Can I have some cooked rabbit?!"
As Jess stood there trying to talk to the man, I sighed and looked at all the people walking around. I wondered if they knew about Jess's past. They didn't seem wary of her, so I highly doubted it.
Then, I spotted it. Jerry's stall. The guy that told me about Harold.
The man from before was talking to a young lady, trying to sell something cheap for a higher price. He was on the other side of the road a few stalls down.
I looked back at Jess. She was trying to guide Frank to his chests. She seemed preoccupied. I slowly backed up, and blended in with the crowd.
"Listen, I'm tellin' ya, this red mushroom is rare!" Jerry insisted. "I'm giving you a generous offer!"
"Nutbag." The girl muttered, walking away.
Jerry sighed, but his face brightened when he saw me. "Hey, you're the girl from before! Lily, was it?"
"Yes it is." I confirmed.
"Say, Jess isn't here, is she?" He asked, looking around.
I pointed to her. "She's over there. Why are you so nervous around her?"
He winced. "Well, she's a nice woman, and I don't want to act stupid in front of—"
"Oh my gods." I interrupted him. "Do you like her!?"
His face reddened a little. "Well I'm not admitting I do, but a woman like her could make me hap—"
I held my hand up. "Please stop. Don't even continue. I got it." I sighed. "I don't know if she'd go after you, though. I doubt she's ready, even though her husband's death was a long time ago." I eased my way into the conversation I wanted to have.
And Jerry confirmed my thoughts.
"Husband?" He frowned. "Lily, I was here in this town when she moved here a few years ago. And everyone knows everyone here. And she's never had a husband..."

~ Amber ~
I was on the night patrol that night. The town needed a few guards at night, since it was so easy for mobs to get in. So I volunteered to start right after dark for a few hours. It was actually a pretty simple job, the hardest thing was staying awake. And that was for the ones that stayed up early in the morning.
I was sitting on top of the lowest mountain, which was pretty much just a tall hill. The town opened up to me, with the entrance to the left. I saw a guard on the other side, and one to the right. The one at the entrance wasn't visible to me.
Grrrrrrr.
"Me in the morning." I sighed and turned around to a lone zombie. I walked over to him, and swung my diamond sword casually. It sliced through his stomach. I did a final jab in his chest, and he disintegrated. A potato was left.
(There's your action @Tood)
"Nice." I said.
"Nice." Someone else said.
I turned and saw Sky grinning at me, with the town behind him. His head was barely visible from the position he was in. "You gonna eat that?"
I chucked it at him. He ducked just in time, the potato flying into the town. He watched its decent, turned back to me, and frowned. "Rude."
I shrugged. "Hi." Putting my sword away, I sat down.
"Hi." He climbed up the last layer of blocks, and sat down next to me. "Whatcha doin?"
"Night shift." I said. "You?"
"Cool. Just joining you for a little bit."
"Cool. So I hear there's a party tomorrow in your honor?" I raised an eyebrow.
"For both of us." He corrected.
I shook my head. "Nah. They wouldn't throw one for me. I've been here many times before. It's for you."
"Really?" His voice went slightly higher. "Just for me?"
"I can tell them to call it off, if you want."
"No no, I'm good. It's good. I like parties."
I laughed.
In a way though, I was jealous. He got to have a big party for him, when I never got one since I was only ever a visitor.
"So have you decided where you're going yet?" I asked out of the blue.
He turned around suddenly as if he heard something. When he realized nothing was there, he answered. "I'm not completely sure. This is a really cool place, but I don't know if it's for me."
"What is 'for you'?"
Sky shrugged. "I don't even know. Maybe something with more action, more adventure. Maybe I can travel the world. Become a legend. The wandering traveler that saves the towns he goes through. Feared by mobs, loved by people."
I stifled a laugh. However, when he laughed, I realized he was joking and laughed along.
"Maybe you can befriend a creeper or something that becomes your sidekick." I offered.
"Yes!" He exclaimed, and bursted into another fit. When we finally calmed down, he spoke again, "But seriously. I'm not sure if I want to stay in one place for my whole life."
"So you're gonna be a lone wolf?"
"Unless someone wants to join me." He smiled at me.
I almost narrowed my eyes. "No thank you sir. I have a good life in my town." I was tempted to mention that I also had Zach, but I didn't for some reason.
"Fiiiine." He exhaled. "I guess I'll have to come back and visit you."
"You better." I joked.
Hisssssss.
Out of the corner of my eye, I saw something green coming toward us. I was about to take out my sword and get up to charge the creeper, but a diamond sword appeared in its chest suddenly. The force was so strong that the creeper died immediately. The sword fell on the ground.
I jerked my head around to see where the weapon came from, but no one else was there. Then, I turned to Sky, who had his hand held up with a bewildered expression.
"Did you just do that?" I asked slowly.
He nodded, hardly able to comprehend what happened as well. "I just saw the creeper, and I grabbed my sword and chucked it without thinking."
"That was..." I tried to find a word.
"Awesome?" He suggested, getting up.
"Quick thinking." I finished. "Also, that was great aim for throwing so hard."
"Thank you." He picked up the sword, and twirled it.
I got up as well. "But it was awesome, too."
