Lukas' POV
"I should check on how Jesse's doing with the decorations and see if I could help", I thought as I walked into the treasure room but found out it was empty.
"Huh I thought she's was still working in here"but then I saw a strand of lights dangling with no sign of Jesse anywhere. Suddenly, I heard a yell behind me and the before I could process what was happening I was on the ground with Jesse's sword just inches from my face.

Jesse's POV (A few seconds earlier)
As soon as I heard the footsteps enter the room I dropped the light strand I was hanging and ran the the side of the entrance to sneak up behind the person entering thinking it could be an enemy.
Before I knew it I was tackling someone down and thrust my sword into their face only to find out it was Lukas I almost killed.

"Oh my gosh Lukas, I'm so sorry! I didn't know it was you!", I exclaimed as I sheathed my sword.

"Well who else could I have been?", Lukas replied with a hint of annoyance in his voice.

"I'm really sorry okay, I've just been paranoid since we got back from our portal adventure", I admitted with some shame.

"Oh man sorry I didn't mean to make you feel bad", Lukas said as he gave me a back on my shoulder.

"It's cool. How's everyone else doing with the Christmas decorations around town", I asked while getting back to the strand of lights I abandoned when I took down Lukas.

"Oh you know they're doing anything else but that", Lukas responded while helping me hang the other end of the lights.

"Come on, this is our first holiday as a team and as friends instead of rivals, it should be special", I groaned as the strand was secured on the wall and we got down to the floor.

"If it makes you feel better Olivia IS working on the fireworks display for next week"

"I guess that DOES make me feel a little better"I said while we walked out of the treasure room out into town.

As we walked around checking on how people were doing and high-fiving the occasional fan, we happened upon my brother and Petra at Reuben's memorial.

J's POV

"It's been a few months since Reuben died and she's coping pretty well but I'm still worried she's hiding her pain", I told Petra as we placed some red and pink flowers around the memorial.

"You know how your sister can be, she's stubborn at times and doesn't like to talk about it so we shouldn't push her too hard about it", Petra whispered to me as Jesse and Lukas approached us from a distance.

"Hey guys!", Jesse yelled as she and Lukas ran over to us and she smiled until she saw what we were doing and her smile fell.

"You guys are doing a really nice job with it", Jesse said while looking like she was holding back tears as she looked at our work.

"How are you doing with this whole...situation?", I asked as I stood up.

"I'm fine...I'll just go check on how Axel is doing", Jesse mumbled as she turned and walked away.
