Jesse's POV

I sat on a fallen log just outside of the town's wall staring at the ground after I had made a stop by Axel's "testing grounds" where he was always trying out new explosives almost everyday. As I brushed my brown hair out of my eyes (I use the second Female Jesse and the first Male Jesse as twins in my stories) I remembered meeting Reuben as a kid.(A/N the backstory behind the memory will be covered in another story, sorry about all the loose ends but I will write about them later)

"It was dark and for some reason I was running away from monsters that followed me from a broken bridge that was on fire. As I tried to outrun them I fell and hurt my leg, tearing my overalls, and scratching up my knee. I had landed near a waterfall and decided to duck behind it in a small cave that had a single torch in it. As I breathed heavily, trying to catch my breath, I heard some tapping noises coming from outside and I curled up into a ball while crying softly. A few seconds later a small pink piglet with a light brown mark on one side came from outside through the waterfall carrying a few carrots in its mouth. I crawled back feeling a little scared while wiping away some dirt and tears from my face when the piglet came over and dropped a carrot in front of me and nudged it with its head. I took the carrot cautiously while whispering 'thank you' and the piglet came and curled up at my side. Later,  when dawn began to rise, the piglet let me lean on him as we walked to town and he pushed over the occasional monster allowing us to run away. When we got there, I got help for my injuries and decided to keep the piglet,  naming him Reuben."

The rest is history but ever since that night Reuben and I had become best friends and we eventually met Axel, Olivia, J, and the rest but he never stopped protecting me against mean people. That's when I realized what I was doing and how worried the others must've been for me. I stood up brushing off Ellegaard's armor and decided to go find everyone else.

Lukas' POV

It's been almost 2 hours since we've seen Jesse and everyone was starting to worry the worst had happened until Jesse walked in with dried tear stains on her cheeks and everyone(Axel, Olivia, J, Petra), except Ivor, went to give her a hug.

"Sis, I'm really sorry I tried to talk to you about Reuben earlier I thought you had finally gotten past it." J said while looking at the ground with some shame.

"It's okay, though I'll never really get over it, I will continue to be fine." Jesse replied.

3rd Person View

When she finally pulled herself together, Jesse noticed that the treasure room had been lit up with the now finished lights and a spruce tree was at the end of the hall hanging with ornaments and string with some white lights. It took some time to realize it but Jesse then saw that the star hadn't been placed at the top of the tree.

"Where's the star?"

"We were waiting for you to come back so you could put it on the tree." Petra answered while pulling out a nether star and holding it out to Jesse.
