Epilogue
Persephone
I stood on the cemetery grounds. I opened up a black umbrella as it rained.
I released tears away. It had been one week since we defeated Herobrine. But, with lesser people in the team, the lesser the fun.
I cried about Ray. I thought about him and his last words everyday. I really just wish that I could join him, but I couldn't...
I need to stay in this world, for Ray...
Athaliah stood beside me, teary-eyed as well. I still felt joyous that Athaliah's alive, that one of my best friends are still alive. She told me that a totem saved her, but I'm still glad she's still here.
But still sad that Ray has to go.
"Ray..." I muttered, emotion in my voice.
Athaliah patted me on my back.
"Don't worry, Persephone. We feel you..." she comforted me.
But it did not work.
I covered my eyes and wiped my tears away. I remember all the moments with him. His jokes, his medical procedures, and most of all, his love.
But after all, love is pain.
Nev stood in front of us, with a microphone in her hands, ready to speak. She was teary-eyed as well, just like everyone else's.
She went on narrating the deceased's lives were, starting with Storm.
"Whoever will be named, will be remembered as one of the saviors of Minecraftia. Their names will forever mark history as one of the heroes who died for what is right, ever since the Frostburn war," Nev said with emotion.
"Storm."
"Jay."
"Ray."
"Newton."
"And Caden."
I suddenly remembered how Caden died. Apparently, he collapsed, and giant Herobrine accidentally crushed him to death.
"These names will be forever remembered in our memories, in our history books, and in our hearts. May your soul shall rest in peace..."
As soon as she said that, the flag of Minecraftia flew half-staff to show condolences.
After that, everyone except Nev, Lion, Milarite, Athaliah, and I dispersed. Nev still cried in Lion's shoulder. But I still couldn't forget Ray.
I went in my new house, and I released my emotions privately.
I rewinded Ray's last words repeatedly in my mind.
"Remember... you are Minecraftia's last hope..."
Am I really, Minecraftia's last hope...?
* * * * *
Six months had passed, but I still couldn't get over Ray. Athaliah often stops by at my house to comfort me, and talk with me. Nev, Lion, and Milarite also stopped by, but less frequently.
I stood in my bathroom, eyeing the razor on the sink.
I really wish I could just end this...
No...
I can't...
I need to stay strong...
I sighed, and left the bathroom. I just sat on my bed, and couldn't get over the fact that a lot has changed.
Ever since we defeated Herobrine, chaos stopped inside Bergenheim. But outside, the war still raged on between Projects and their supporters, the Loyalists or people who supported Herobrine, and government soldiers and peacemakers.
All the Regional Directors were slain, so the mayor of Bergenheim, a German politician named Sir Chauncey Merkel, took the oath of the President, and is now the President of New Minecraftia. People still refer to it as Minecraftia, but that's the official name.
He announced that Bergenheim will not be rebuilt, as it will be a historical site. He proclaimed Dennerheim in North Minecraftia as the temporary capital of Minecraftia until a new one is built.
Outside Bergenheim, the world still laid in wrecks. Heijokyo, Shenzen, and Perlough suffered severe damages, and took billions of emeralds to repair it. And the reparation is still not complete.
Aside from that, Minecraftia also suffered debts, and the economy grew worse than before.
I also heard that Athaliah is gonna move away from the city and into the nature. She said that she wanted to stay away from the war and become a pacifist. She did not tell where will she go, but she promised she'll call me.
I sighed. Beside me laid today's newspaper. I read the headlines.
"SOUTH MINECRAFTIA SECEDES FROM NEW MINECRAFTIA!"

Narrator
Back in the ruins of Bergenheim, a man stood on the rubble.
"They thought they're finished. They thought they defeated me. But if there's one thing I'll go for..."
"I'll go for revenge...!"

In Heijokyo, Wei meditated in his new but traditional Japanese house.
In his sight; however, he saw a land, where even thousand of blocks away stayed no tree and no grass in sight. Coarse dirt stretched on for blocks away. The land dwelled with creatures, but no signs of animals. The land looked desolate, but Wei gasped as soon as he realized what that land was...

And the story is done.
I think I did good with that epilogue. What do you think?
