Riley ended up going on the date with Lucas, but he didn't break up with her like I expected. And honestly, I don't know whether to be happy or upset by that.

Now, it's time to do everything I can to get Riley to catch Lucas and Slutty Suzy kissing in the back hallway.

They meet every day directly after lunch -- when we have free period. So today, directly after lunch, I need to get Riley down to that hallway.

How, exactly, I have no idea.

"Hey, Riley! I heard that there was something special going on in the back hallway! We should go."

Riley shakes her head. "Can't. Farkle and I need to go to the library and study."

"Ummm.... Farkle's going too! Right Farkle?" I nudge him in the arm lightly.

"Yeah, of course I'm going. I mean, all the cool kids are there, right?" He starts laughing nervously, but I continue talking before Riley can notice.

"Well, looks like you don't have a study buddy anymore. Now you can go to the thing!"

Riley shakes her head again, her stubbornness starting to piss me off. "It's okay, I can study by myself."

She starts to stand up, and I grab her by the wrist. "You know what? I think you're refusing to go because you're afraid."

"I'm not --"

"But that's okay, because you've got Little-Miss-Maya right by your side. No need to be scared, Riles! Now, let's go!"

Because of Riley's refusals, Lucas and Suzy are gone by the time we get to the back hall.

"Umm, Maya? Farkle? Why are we the only one's here?"

I laugh, nudging Farkle again to get him to laugh as well. "Looks like it got cancelled and we weren't told."

Riley just shakes her head for the thousandth time today. "Come on, Farkle. We can still get a little bit of studying done."

She grabs him by the arm, and they walk off, leaving me alone.

Apparently this is going to be a lot harder than I thought.
