-Noelia-
"1 kiss a day = 365 by the end of the year," she calculated. "You want a dare? I'll give you a dare." Rio pointed at me. "Kiss her. Once every day for the entire year."
Time seemed to freeze.
I blinked.
Once.
Twice.
Thrice.
"...I'm sorry. You want him to what?"
"You want me to what?" Jun repeated.
"One. Kiss. A. Day. All year. No more. No less." She smiled and whipped her dreads. "Chill. It's not like anything's going to happen." Jun scoffed and that was all it took for me to know we were on the same page. You could literally see the glint of mischief flash in her eyes with all of her devious planning. We both knew she was plotting something. Something big.
And words cannot describe how much I wanted to high five her. In the face. With a chair.
She wants me to kiss Jun? No. I'm not Rio. I can't just throw around kisses like they don't mean shit. I can't. I won't. Kisses mean everything. A kiss is what you do to tell somebody how much you love them when you can't find the words. And me loving Jun?
It just wasn't possible.

-Jun-
I was out.
Kissing Noelia? Of all people. And for a whole year? I wasn't doing this. It was just a stupid match making game for Rio to try and set me up with her cousin. Not happening.
I'm not kissing for a dare. I made up my mind and I didn't intend to change it.
But you know? Things change.
Because I looked at Noelia in her 9 3/4 shirt, blushing a color that rivaled a tomato and all my thoughts vaporized. She was staring right back at me. I didn't notice her eyes before. She had nice eyes. Hazel.
"Hey Jun?" She asked. The gears were turning in her brain. Maybe imagining the nearest exit.
"Yeah?"
"Kiss me."
And that was the day I decided to like Rio. Because looking at her dorky cousin with fake glasses made me realize whatever this kissing game was, I wouldn't regret it. Not at all.
"Oh," I winked and gave my best smirk. "This is gonna' be fun."
Short? Yes. But this is FINALLY where everything happens. I wasted two perfectly good chapters on authors notes and an apology. And another on the prologue. So in reality, there's only been about five (including this one) actual chapters published. I'm extremely excited to officially start writing. I don't know why I didn't just give the backstory later on. It would've sped up the pace.
And readers are dropping. Probably because I haven't done anything about the plot yet.
You win some. You lose some. If that idiom makes any sense in this scenario, that is.
I'm pretty sure none of y'all have ever actually heard the name Noelia. The reason I decided to name her that is because I wanted something unique. One of my best friends, Marie, had invited me to her birthday party (It was laser tag btw and trust me when I say I AM ZEH QUEEN OF LASER TAG. 1ST PLACE TWICE IN A ROW BABY!), and introduced me to her other friend.
And what was her name? Noelia.
I liked her name a lot. And like my Noelia in the story, she really isn't perfect. She doesn't try to be. She doesn't want to be.
