Chapter 50
It was a warm Saturday morning. Everybody was glad that it wasn't cold as usual. The venue they chose was a beautiful sunny beach with the slightly but bearable cold wind blowing around. The decoration was done. Including her favorite lavender and white colour. Both of them were waiting for this day since anyone could remember. Their wedding day! It was finally happening. They both were about to get together only to remain with each other till the end. About to start their "Forever".
The gorgeous bride was getting was getting ready in the room of big resort they chose for the venue. Everybody was in the rush, makeup girl trying to put last minute touches on the ever beautiful bride as her maid of honour was fixing her beautiful white gown. She was nervous and anxious but most of all, she was very happy and excited to start her new life with her soon to be husband. They were not allowed to see each other since yesterday. Her phone was taken away from her so she won't be able to contact the groom.
"Aria! Stop panicking, relax nothing is going to happen. You are going to be fine." Sam tried to sooth the nervous bride who was slightly shaking due to the reality check. She was getting married to Cristiano. Her love of life.
She remembered the day she saw him in the ICU room, asking for him to wake up. Hoping that he'll wake up and so she could hold on to him, only to never let go. And he did. He never disappointed her. He came back from the dead to her. Doctors couldn't believe it, that he made it through. They told the family that it was miracle that he survived such fatal injury. But only she knew that it was the power of love that brought him back. Since then she was with him, taking care of him in any way possible. Even his mom was happy that he was alright and that he survived. Sure it was hard to accept her after all the events but now both women were close to each other like they were real mother and daughter.
"Girl! You need to chill a bit. It's just a ceremony it's not like they are going to kill you. Calm down. Here take a sip of wine, you'll be good to go." Lisa, her best friend said. She was looking stunning as always in her pale pink bridesmaid's dress. Aria took the glass and took a small sip to calm her nerves.
" Andddd we are done. You look absolutely gorgeous my dear." Carol, the makeup artist announced. Aria turned around to see her breathtaking reflection in the mirror. Her dress was perfectly hugging her curves and her hair were set a beautifully messy hairdo, she specifically asked Carol to keep the makeup to the minimum amount. Lisa brought a small velvet box from the table. Aria was dying to open it since they got there.
It was simple blue velvet box, she opened the box to see a beautiful necklace waiting for her there. She took the beautiful necklace out. It was a beautiful platinum ring attached in a delicate silver chain. The ring resembled to the same ring Cristiano wore. She looked carefully to see that today's date was engraved on the inside with small delicate letters which said "Mine". She smiled at the beautiful gift given by her soon to be husband. Sam helped her to put the necklace on. Both the lovebirds promised that they will gift each other a special gift on their wedding day. This was the special gift she got from Cristiano. The door opened and Aria's mom walked in.
"My Goodness Ari! You look so beautiful my baby girl. I can't believe you are getting married. Weren't you the same little baby girl the other day who couldn't walk without holding my hand. And now look at you, you are about to walk down the aisle."Her mom said, holding her daughter's hand and happy tears pouring down her cheeks. Aria was emotional too. She hugged her mom.
" Your Dad and brother would be so proud of you and I'm sure wherever they are right now, they are wishing you nothing but good luck and happiness." her mom whispered in her ear. The whole atmosphere was heavy with emotions. But it was time to go as everyone was waiting for the bride to arrive. All her bridesmaids wished her good luck as they went out one by one. It was only Aria and her mom. Aria had asked her mom to walk her down the aisle. She wanted no one but her mom to do the honour.
Only very few people were invited for the wedding. They wanted to share this moment only with their precious people. Mawra was one of those people. She came just a day before the wedding and was very happy to be a part of the beautiful event.
It was beautiful day for a wedding. Cristiano was a bit nervous as he waited for his bride to come and join him for the ceremony. James and Gareth were standing close to him being the groomsmen. He felt like his stomach was in a knot but it all went down when he saw his girl, on the other side of the aisle. Breathtaking as always she was, she wore her smile as the most treasured piece of ornament. Her mom right beside her, holding her hand. Her mom whispered something in her ear and they began to walk. My girl was drop dead gorgeous, he thought. She was looking at him, with that beautiful smile and eyes full of love and warmth. He couldn't control himself as he let his tears flow. The thought that she'll be his forever, that she'll be there with him through thick and thin made his heart overwhelmed. As she got closer he went ahead to help her up, holding her hand. She placed her hand on top of his. As if promising him that "I'm never going to let go."
So it all began as they stood there looking at each others eyes, holding hands. And then it was time to say the vows. They wanted to say their own vows.
"Would you like to go first Aria?" the priest asked her. She gave him little nod as she began talking. Her grip on his hand firm.
"Dear Cris, today I just want to thank you for all the things you've done for me. The list is very long that we might end here for the eternity but I'll try to shorten it a bit. So here it goes. Thank you for giving your heart to me and trusting me with yours. Thank you for walking beside me any situation and for wanting me to walk beside you. Thank you for making me smile and smiling along with me. Thank you for being you are and thank you for letting me be myself. Thank you for loving me so deeply and for letting me love you the same. Thank you for every day and and night and every moment that i spend with you. And thank you for this beautiful journey we are about to start for the rest of our lives. I love you so much." her voice got a little heavy at the end. His hold on her hands got a little stronger. It was his turn now.
" My dear Aria, first and formost I promise to love you forever, to love you when no else could do and to love you when even you don't think you could. I promise to be your protector, to shield you from all the monsters who resides both in and out of your head. I promise to care for you when in the midst of caring for others you forget to care for yourself. I promise to be strong for you when you get tired to be strong for everyone else. And above all I promise to be yours. Forever." He finished. Both of them had tears in their eyes. "I do." were exchanged and they were announced as husband and wife. Happy tears were rolling and everyone was happily clapping as the newly wed couple shared a deep kiss in front of everyone.
It was almost evening as the guests danced around the floor and sung songs and enjoyed the reception party. Ari and Cris danced along the slow beats, moving in rhythm, being close to each other. Kissing in between the moments and sharing a good laugh.
"Are you ready for your gift?" she asked him as she was slowly twirling around. He captured her close and nodded, giving her a small peck on lips. She smiled as they started slowly moving again.
"We are pregnant!" she announced. He stopped in the middle to look at her face. He couldn't believe what she just said. As if she read his mind she again said.
"You are going to be father Cris. I'm pregnant! We are going to have a baby!" she smiled, caressing his face.
He couldn't get more happier.
"this is the best day of my life. I can't believe it." He eyes were full of happy tears, he quickly kissed her passionately, trying to keep this memory frozen for the rest of his life. She giggled as their son joined them to dance. Aria was more than happy to be his mother. She kissed him on the cheek and the three of them started dancing slowly. A happy family. They danced for a while, stopping in the middle, resting their foreheads against each other's, holding their hands.
"I love you Aria." He whispered.
"I love you Cristiano." she replied. As they kissed one more time promising a lifetime of love and happiness.
