"I invited Jax to your birthday dinner is that alright"
"It's fine Nathan"I sat in my window seat and looked over to see Jax leading training in the clearing.I played with my bottom lip as I watched Jax buck off another pack member.
"Earth to Everly"
Hm I whispered.
"Do you want a closer view you can watch from outside"
"No I'm fine here"I didn't want Jax to feel Like I was stalking him.I stayed quiet and Nathan left my room.I turn 18 tonight at the stroke of midnight and my anxiety ate away at my nerves at the thought of getting my wolf and everything that comes with it.

Jax's POV
Your little mate can't keep her eyes off you Derik and Nathan teased.I smiled softly not affected by their teasing I was Everly's she could look all she wanted.
Good I growled and I seen Tally and Christina coming up to us.
Alpha they both murmured and I nodded.My little flower came running out and I smiled.She was very short standing at 5'5 I was a whole foot taller.I took in her outfit which was a royal blue romper with some sandals.She looked beautiful she always did.My wolf purred in approval as she waved to us.I waved back slightly and I growled purely out of possession as she dead sprinted across the yard to her friends.
Mine I growled it echoing through the group.I clenched my fists as I seen her hug a male.He was with his mate I could tell.But I wasn't going to allow this man to pick up my flower like she was his mate.
Chill out Jax that's her friends Leah's mate Nathan murmured and I relaxed when he released my mate due to my scowl.My eyes widened when I seen her stumble and I was quick to steady her.She jumped but stayed quiet as my arm secured around her waist.I breathed in her sweet perfume and my wolf simmered down.
Are you alright I whispered in her ear gently.
Yes I'm okay..thank you for not letting me fall she mumbled playing with her lower lip.
Your welcome Everly I whispered and my wolf whined when I released her.

Reed I growled in my head and he rolled his eyes.

'Fuck off she's not ready'She walked back inside and Reed growled through our link.I watched her look back at me before shutting the door.I walked inside and she was at the kitchen counter.

Why don't you she whispered and I could sadness in her eyes.Oh flower if you knew what will happen tonight.

I know She whispered and I stayed quiet.I couldn't stand to see her sad it broke my heart.

"Okay"She came down with a white cardigan on and I held the door open for her.She stayed close to me as I climbed the log wall.She looked up at me and I raised my brow.
"Come on now"
"What if we get hurt"

"I'm sorry..help me up please"I leaned down grabbing her waist and setting her on the top of the wall.She clutched my shoulders.She was shaking slightly but held onto to me tight.
"Ready"
Don't drop me please she whispered wrapping her legs around my waist.Reed purred as she nuzzled into my neck.
You'll be safe I promise I whispered as I jumped down.

Jax's POV
She jumped when we heard twigs.I could tell she was starting to get paranoid.
Sh I got you I whispered as I carried her on my back.She wrapped her arms around my neck again and I got to the edge of the territory.
"Alright here we are"She jumped impatiently as I climbed the wall and I swallowed the groan that Reed was pushing up.I pulled her up gently and her mom was just coming outside.
"Oh honey I was worried about you"
"I'm sorry mom..I was with Jax i was safe I promise"She hugged Everly tightly and I smiled.
"I'm sorry Camilla I should of let you known this is my fault"
"She's safe that's all that matters Jax"I nodded and Nathan put Everly on his shoulder making her shriek.
"Hurry up mom's been making us wait for dinner"She giggled and Nathan sat her down on the ground and they raced to the door.
Mom Everly whined.
"It's alright baby go eat"She blushed and I smiled nodding to her.
"Are you sure you want to handle her first shift by yourself"
"I'm sure Jax Nathan will be there if we need assistance"
"That's your decision Camilla I wouldn't want to stand in your way"
"Thank you Jax"I nodded and they all went inside.I started walking back to my house and I smelt Everly.
I thought you were joining us she whispered.
"I don't want to intrude on your time with your family"
Please Jax she whispered poking her bottom lip out.
"Are you sure"
"Yes of course Jax"She tucked herself under my arm and we walked in.I sat next to Everly and we mostly ate in silence.

Midnight I whispered and seen Everly come outside and Nathan followed behind her.He was talking quietly to her as her head nodded.I wanted badly to be outside with them so Everly has someone to help her through her shift.She started crying and screaming through the pain and I shut my eyes.
It's almost over Reed whimpered and I seen her wolf laying down before Nathan and Camilla.My breath hitched in my throat she was so beautiful.She was a stark white wolf besides that she had little black flecks on her hair just as I did but mine were white flecks on black fur.She just sat and watched her brother shift and I noticed Tally joined them.Nathan shot off and I watched Camilla stroke Everly's fur.She took off after Nathan and I chuckled as Tally followed behind them.I walked outside and Camilla smiled at me.
Thank you she whispered.
Your welcome I murmured and she hugged me as I returned it.
"She can't hear her wolf yet"
"She will give it time she has to meet the moon goddess first"Camilla nodded and I heard howls.
Sounds like they are having fun she whispered and I nodded.
"First run is the best"
"It's been many moons since mine....You take care of my baby girl you understand"
"Of course I will Camilla your daughter means the world to me"She walked inside and I waited on the deck for them.Fifteen minutes went past before my link opened with Nathan.
'Ready Jax'
'I'm ready when you are Nathan'The three of them came walking in and Camilla brought out clothing.I noticed Everly's hair was drenched.
"What happened"
"Nathan pushed her into the lake"Everly smiled though and she towel dried her hair.
It's okay I got him back like you showed me she boosted and I chuckled.
"You showed her the secret spot"
"Of course I did"

I didn't realize how warm your wolf makes you Everly whispered as we laid on the grass.Nathan and Tally were at their place so we were alone.
"So what happens next"
"Your going to be visited by the moon goddess and when you wake up your wolf should have her bearings and will be able to talk to her"
"When can I start looking for my mate"

"I think it's time to call it a night"I helped her up and she smiled.

Everly's POV
I woke up in a forest.I was in all white pullover and white shorts.
"How are you feeling darling"My eyes widened and I bowed.
"I'm fine thank you moon goddess"

"Are you enjoying your wolf"

Now are you ready to meet your wolf"
"Yes please"I take in my surroundings.I jump when there is a woman sitting with her legs crossed in the middle of the room.When did she get there.She has long curly blondish hair much like mine when I don't tame it.From here I could tell that her eyes were black and she kind of looked like me.I stood up and made my way over to her. But the distance only seemed to get farther and farther apart between the two of us.I cried out in frustration and her voice sounded in my ears.
"Remain calm Everly. Focus on getting to me"I opened my eyes and I was standing right in front of her. I furrowed my eyebrows and sat down in front of her.
"Where am I"
"You are sleeping."
"So does that mean I'm dreaming?"
"Not really. We are in your subconscious."
"How can you hear my thoughts"
"I am apart of you Everly. I can hear all of your thoughts, and you can hear all of mine."
"Who are you?"
"I am your wolf Lana I know you must be confused, and you have many questions for me, but you must listen to me.We are different. We are not like other wolves. We are able to bear Alpha's pups."My smile faltered.That means my mate was an Alpha.
That means I'm destined to be Luna I squeaked.

"But you are darling it's in your blood that's why you run fast.That's why you were chased in the forest that day they could smell your scent and it drove them to the point of madness."I whimpered at the vivid memory of that day.

I shot up and my heart raced.I checked on my mom to see her awake.
"Baby what's wrong"
My wolf her she told me somethings wrong I whispered climbing in bed next to her.
Nothing is wrong baby we are safe come here I got you she whispered her hand smoothing my hair back.I breathed in her scent.
I'm scared that I will have to leave the pack mom I whispered and she kissed my forehead.
"Baby we aren't going to worry about that for awhile finding your mate can take awhile"
"You found dad in two days"
"That's because we were on boarder duty and he caught my scent..it's not always that easy think about Nathan and Tally"
"I know he was so grumpy until he found her"

'Your mother is right when find our mate he will love you for you'I ignored Lana and stayed quiet.

"Just because it's your birthday baby"I nodded and got under the comforter and she ran her fingers through my hair gently.

Me too honey but he's smiling down at you and Nathan he's so proud of the both of you she whispered and I nuzzled into her letting my tears fall.
Don't cry baby my mom whispered kissing my forehead.I nodded letting her know I wasn't trying too.She wiped my tears away with her thumb and held me close.She hummed softly the tube of my lullaby.She knew it always knocks me out.As on cue my eyes started to get heavy.
