Chapter 2
"How many fingers am I holding up?" I questioned.
"21?" Anna replied, a woozy smile on her face and lying on the ground.
"Hate to break it to you, but I don't even have 21 fingers." I said with a troubled smile. I thought you were the smart one? Now you may be wondering how this happened. Well it is simple Anna was being the poptart she is ran into a lamppost on the sidewalk outside my house.
"Oh?" She said in wonder with sparkles in her eyes. I know that look she is messing with me!
"Are you messing with me?" I asked.
"Ye...I mean...I mean. No!" She shouted. Yep she is messing with me because I am pretty sure that a person with a concussion would either hate loud noises, be unconscious or puking. I glared at the girl on the ground and waited for her to notice. "Ha... Ha... Ha..." She nervously laughed before sprinting inside the door that I had justopened and unlocked. With a sigh I followed her inside closing the door behind me.

We had an 'Attack On Titan' marathon till two in the morning. We had turned off Anna's phone after she told her mom she would be home late, not wanting to hear her overprotective mother's response. There are some perks of having a house of your own when your parents live overseas for work, even if it gets lonely from time to time, but that is why I have Anna. I also get to buy whatever I want because my parents gave me a credit card and I don't want to brag but let's just say we are well off money wise.
I looked over to my left to see Anna had fallen asleep on the couch. Deciding not to wake her I just started looking through Netflix.

After about half way through an episode of... What was I watching again? Doesn't matter I'm tired. I could feel my eyes watering from the lack of sleep and my eyelids growing heavier. Struggling to see straight in my sleepy haze I reached for the remote and shut the T.V. down before drifting off into the lapse of time we lose before waking up.

With a groan I woke up to sunlight filtering through the curtains onto my face. Sluggishly I shifted my eyes to where Anna was, surprised to see she was not there. She must have gone home to appease her mother. Oh well I can talk to her when I get to school... School! What time is it? Suddenly with that thought in mind I jumped from the couch to do my daily wake routine.
After I finished I walked into the kitchen and pulled out my phone to see I had ten minutes to spare. Good I have time to eat breakfast. That in mind I slid on top of the kitchen counter and grabbed a red apple, but before I could satisfy my hunger I caught a slight smell of something weird. It was almost unrecognizable, but it was there under the coffee smell that my house always seemed to have. Suddenly stopping my train of thought of finding the smell I proceed to make coffee instead.
As I was just finishing my apple and about to drink the other half of my coffee, I was rudely interrupted by my, as I like to call it 'go to hell alarm...' Oh I mean school... Slipping on my backpack and abandoning my caffeine goodness, I went out the door and locked it. 'Good Karma remember to lock the door we don't want anyone finding out.' What the hell am I thinking? I have nothing to hide! 'Are you sure, you could be keeping a secret?' Nope no secrets, but I should still lock the door don't want any unwanted guests now would I? I turned around and headed to school after my little mental debate with myself.

Now where is that poptart? I swear if she plans to jump on me in a sneak attack again. With that in mind I whip my head around to look behind me to see... Nothing? Only the other students in the courtyard, giving me weird looks yet again. With a roll of my eyes I proceeded to push open the school doors into a crowded hallway. 'Ugg people.' That's not nice! Oh wait it is too early to deal with people. I want to go back to sleep...
There was an unusual blob of my classmates huddled around the notice board so I meandered over to get a closer look at whatever they were blabbering about. Peeking over a few people's shoulders I saw what had caught the attention of so many of my classmates. The top five GPA's of the grades collected exam results. Let me guess Anna got number one? Lets see...

Wait what! I got first and Anna's name is not even on the list! This can't be right maybe I had just mistaken number two for one. I will look up there again and her name will be right above mine like it should.
Hesitantly I glanced up at the board again to see... Exactly what I thought the first time. Anna's name was not on there. I will talk to the teacher just to make sure it is not a mistake. Good thing my English teacher is the one who organises the top five list and I just happen to have their class first. I walked through the mob of a hallway and to English. I slipped through the door and to the teacher's desk in a hurry.
"Um..." I mumbled awkwardly before clearing my throat. "I was wondering if you made a mistake on the top five list because I don't see Anna's name on it." I questioned as politely as possible.
"No there is no mistake. You really did well on your tests" They chuckled leaving me confused.
"But... Anna..." I whispered under my breath. The only reply I got was a confused look. I don't understand it is as if... As if... She didn't know who Anna was? That just can't be right. Can it? Ok deep breaths. It is fine I will just ask Anna about it when I see her.
I gave a worried smile to my teacher before shuffling to my desk. Plopping down with a frustrated sigh of distress I glanced over to Anna's seat now that class had started. Only to find no one there. Guess she is sick. 'Sure sick?' Yes sick I will text her after school it will be fine we can sort this all out together. That in mind I let a small barely noticeable smile slip across my lips as I fell into the daily flow of school.
