'Don't trust anything. Don't trust me, I might be lying. Trust yourself? Ha... That is how they get you. The darkness swallows you whole leaving nothing but an empty house behind.' Someone told me that once I just can't remember who, but why am I thinking this? Well simple I have a huge exam today. Wouldn't that make any person question themselves?
"Karm! Karma!" My eyes narrowed at the snapping fingers, in front of my face, of my best friend Anna.
"Finally! I thought I had lost you for a minute. This happens every exam day." The energetic brunette giggled waving a finger and happily bouncing in front of me.
"Sorry, just thinking." I mumbled with a roll of my eyes.
"Well you are always just thinking. You should try lightening up sometimes," Anna said, the cloud of happiness still floating around her. This is how it always is. She's the optimist and I am the pessimist. I guess that is why we are such good friends, opposites attract right?
"Tch," was my only reply. Why must she be so happy all the time? I let out a sigh as I watched Anna skip ahead.
"Oooh! I know what will cheer you up!" I heard from the cheerful girl in front of me.
"Really?" I questioned, sarcasm and doubt lacing my voice. What is she thinking now? I swear if I could sweat drop like the anime characters do I would. How the hell can she be happy on exam days? Well I suppose that is a mystery I will never know.
"We can have an 'Attack On Titan' marathon tonight after school!" She shouted with excitement. We both love anime so that might actually be fun.
"Sounds cool. We can head to my house after school." I said trying to keep the excitement from coming through. With that in mind we continued the walk to school in quiet with the exception of Anna humming something, but I was too busy thinking about exams again. I am a generally smart kid, always in the top five it seemed. I may slack off once in awhile, but who wouldn't high school is hard. Anna? Yep, I don't think she has ever slacked off. This will be the first time she has, especially with watching anime on a school night. What a little rebel she has become. Probably my influence. A cheshire smirk making its way across my face at the thought.
"We are here!" My hyperactive best friend screamed in joy, flinging her hands above her head in enthusiasm. The other students in the main courtyard gave us weird looks, as if we belonged in an insane asylum. I send them a slight glare, before Anna noticed, and their heads snapped back to whatever the hell they were doing. Why must she do this every single day? I guess I should just get used to it by now.
Letting out an exasperated sigh I shrugged my book filled backpack further up my shoulder and followed Anna to English. Looming over me like a grand piano in one of those bad movies, I could feel that step by step I was walking into my doom. I passed the threshold into the room and walked to my seat at the back of the class next to the window. Pulling off my bag and placing it on the floor next to my desk before sliding into my seat, I glanced over to see Anna on my right as enthusiastic as ever. I swear sometimes it feels like we are from different planets. It was still a few minutes before class so I pulled out my phone and proceeded to play Crossy Roads.
I had only gotten a few rounds in before a packet of paper was placed in front of me and I was told to turn it in by the end of class. I slipped my phone into my pocket and grabbed a pencil. Looking down at the exam I began to write my name. Karma Williams. Ok hardest part over right? No, who am I kidding? I have at least ten pages to go. I stared at the next sentence. Write a six page essay about one of the topics we have gone over this year. I just want to slam my head against the desk at this point. I'm really considering it... Ok Karma you can do this, just write about what you learned. Pressing my pencil down on the paper I began the essay and other questions.

Done! I just about shouted out loud, leaning back in my chair for a brief second of relief. I got up out of my seat and was about to make my way to the teacher's desk, but I was stopped short when I tripped over my bag and got a face full of the tile floor. Owww, nice one graceful, I thought as I heard my fellow classmates snicker. This is just not my day. I pondered as I lifted myself up, slightly shaking my head in dismay. Walking up to the teacher's desk I held my head down in what seemed to be a constant gloom nowadays. I set my exam on their desk before shuffling back to my desk and taking a seat, but not before catching a pitying glance from Anna. Then I directed my gaze out the window lost in my own thoughts of what was to come.
Suddenly a loud ringing pulled me out of my day dream. Oh it's that time already? I didn't know I had lost track of time. Guess I have to head to science now. Quiet like always I got up and walked to science without Anna.

That is how it went for the rest of the day. Exam, next class, exam. Nothing interesting just me and my thoughts all day, alone in my mind. The last class of the day had just ended and I was on my way to find Anna in the main courtyard. To no surprise when I walked out into the courtyard, I was tackled to the ground by the enthusiastic brunette. Owww, not again falling down once was enough for one day.
"Anna?" I questioned. Sometimes I just don't know what to do with you.
"Yep!" She replied with a joyous smile spreading across her face.
"Get off me you idiot." I mumbled slightly pissed at her on and off again stupidity. She then proceeded to burst out into hysterical laughter. All I did in response was raise an eyebrow in question.
"Good to know you are still the same old Karm!" She said while wiping tears of joy from her eyes and getting off me, before pulling me up with her.
"Who else would it be you poptart?" I asked while flicking her in the forehead.
"Ow and I don't know maybe I thought some sort of demon possessed you." She shouted shaking her hands in a panicking motion. For goodness sakes take a chill pill, for once. Oh joy we have gotten the attention of all the students in the courtyard, again.
"You don't have to be so loud and be careful a demon might just hear you." I said with a smirk while holding my hands out like claws at Anna. She yelped in surprise and jumped into the air. She can be so gullible sometimes. Smirking at that thought I began to chase her out of school. This is fun! I needed a little fun after the hell of a day I have had.
"Demon! Demon! I surrender!" She play acted and fell on the the concrete with her hand covering her face dramatically. So that's how it's gonna be, well two can play at that game.
"Why were you running, I'm simply just one hell of a butler." I kidded reciting one of Sebastian's most known lines from the anime 'Black Butler', before we both burst out into hysterical laughter. "This is why we are friends!" I said trying hard to contain the infectious laughter.
"Most definitely!" Anna replied with a wide smile. She then jumped up and shouted, "Off to Narnia!" before running off in the direction of my house, leaving me to run and catch up to her, before I pass her that is!
