5 ~ Jara

Laying down I tuck my blanket under my chin closing my eyes "No, no I don't want to 'see' leave I need to sleep."

"We both know you aren't going to be able to sleep," my look-alike K says "Talking will help ease your mind off of everything."

Opening my eyes I blink focusing on the person standing in front of me. The glow of the moon through my window doesn't touch her, her figure shapeless in the dark, but somehow I can still see her like a spotlight is shining on her so that even in pitch blackness our eyes will forever meet. It's almost comforting knowing I am not alone, that someone is always there, always calling my name, but why is she here, what is she?

Sighing I push my blanket away sitting up again "Who are they?"

K jumps onto the bed like a feather nothing shifting under her "Who?"

"The person you were talking about," she blinks waiting. Grumbling I pull at my hair "The one you said told me the...story."

K Oh's grinning "Well when I said the others looked like us I wasn't telling you the full truth." I blink staring at her "It would be better if you saw it for yourself."

"Mother fucker, she left" sliding off my bed I turn on the lights sleep forgotten.

"Long time no see Jara."

"Who the fuck spoke," Turning back to my bed a small red head is sprawled across my bed.

"How have you been it has been, one...two...three...four...six hours since we last spoke," the red head holds up three fingers grinning.

Backing towards my door I fumble for the handle "I have never meet you."

Her grin drops "But Jara..."

"Don't Jara me like we're friends, I. Don't. Know. You," finally my hand grabs the door handle turning it.

"Jara that is the person I wanted you to meet."

Turning to the voice my eyes lock with the look-alike called K "Her?" She nods. Dropping my hands to my sides I back into my room "She doesn't look anything like me."

K chuckles "I did say I lied a little."

I grumble crossing my arms "You never said lied."

"Did I, I can't quite remember."

Growling I turn back to the redhead on my bed "Who is she?"

K walks over smiling at the girl "She is you if you were her."

"What?"

K laughs "She is the same as me and you, we are each other and ourselves."

Blinking I rub my forehead "Are you a preacher now or something, you sound like some old man writing about 'finding who you are by who you aren't' stuff."

The two stare at each other before breaking down. "HAHAHAHAHAHAHA old preacher man old preacher man HAHHAHAHHA K that is so you," the redhead falls to the floor clutching her stomach.

K stops laughing, gently kicking the laughing redhead "Okay you can stop that now I am not an old preaching man."

"Hahahaha I'm not the one that said it Jara did."

K stares at me stepping off the giggling girl, raising my hands I step back "Sorry sorry I just said what came to mind."

K stops in front of me eyes locked on mine "Accepted, don't call me that again." Nodding I don't blink her eyes continuing to stare into mine. K backs up turning towards the girl breathing heavily on the ground, "Introductions, Jara this is Ibalyn or Libby as she likes to be called."

"Hello, Jara long time no see I'm Libby your ever so friendly Libby," the redhead Libby waves grinning from ear to ear.

Waving back I look at K "Okay so who is she?"

"Like I said, Libby and I are you and you are us."

Taking a seat on my bed I grab a pillow hugging it to my chest "I still don't get what that means."

K sighs "I already explain-"

"Stop it preacher no one gets your stupid explanations," Libby exclaims, K glares at her her eyes cold. Libby ignores her turning to me "Ignore the preacher, no one really knows except her but no one can understand her stupid explanations so we all just ignore it. I am Libby just Libby your friendly fur ball."

An eyebrow raises "But you don't have fur, and you aren't a ball."

Her grin widens even more "But my hair makes me look like a big red fur ball of fun," she cheers fluffing her already fluffy hair.

K pushes her off the bed taking her spot "Enough Libby," Libby pouts sitting on my dresser "Jara."

"Hm," I turn to K "How can you touch her?"

K sighs "I'll explain in a second."

"Awww no more of your boring explanations," Libby cries.

"Libby," K seethes', Libby shuts up twirling her hair with her fingers. "Jara I know you are confused and we will explain everything but right now is not the right time."

Grumbling "Right time, it's not the right time, at the right time everything will be explained and made right, I don't buy that crap the right time is when I say it is the right time and that time is right now."

"Hmmm, fine," K says sitting closer to me "I tell you one thing."

"Bu-"

"And nothing more the rest will be explained in a few days. If it could be explained now I would but there are some things we have to prepare first."

Grumbling "Fine but that is all the time I am giving you."

K smiles "Alright. You asked me how I could touch Libby," I nod "That's because Libby and I are the same."

"AAAHHHH You already said that."

K holds up a hand "Let me finish, since Libby and I exist in the same place we can touch and interact with each other freely."

"So is that why you can only talk to me?"

"Yes."

"Then how can you sit on the bed and dresser?"

"That is a little more complicated," K looks at me but I stay silent waiting for her to continue. "Some say that everything is made out of different energy frequencies-"

"So you interact with those energy frequencies to allow yourself to touch them."

"No."

"Ahhh K stop making this overly confusing again. Jara, I can answer this."

"Libby..."

"hush preacher I got this. So Jara as you can so no shadow," Libby makes the dog head sign with her hands in front of the lights "Aaannnnddd no reflection," she stands in front of the mirror. "And if you look K is not wrinkling the bed."

"Yeah, I noticed that, but you guys don't look weird the lights are shining on you normally."

"Ah ha yes, we are never actually touching anything, we can't move anything but one another because like K said we exist in the same place."

"And what is this place you keep talking about?"

"Your mind."

"What?"

"Oh man," K sighs."

Libby giggles "Your mind, all you are doing is seeing and hearing us we aren't actually there."

"So I really am just crazy and my hallucinations are also telling me this, how tired must I be, goodnight." Ignoring the lights I lay down pulling my blanket over my head.

"Night night," Libby says, and my room is quiet again.

______

Thank goodness it's the weekend, and double thank goodness there's a hockey tournament this weekend at the arenas I skate at so we don't have ice. I got some sleep the past couple of nights but apparently not enough I can't stop the shaking.

It feels like even my bones are shaking.

Grabbing my wrist with my hands I squeeze tensing every muscle in my arms to stop the shaking.

"Jara, we'll be back soon, anything else we need to pick up?"

"I don't think so mom, I'll text you if I think of anything." I call out "Bye," as my parents leave to get groceries. It's been a couple of weeks since we last got groceries it's going to be a big load this week to put away.

"Ah," taking a deep breath I hug my stomach tucking my legs into my chest. The house is quiet, everyone is gone either to work or shopping, I'm the only person home.

Thank goodness for that.

My breaths quicken as the shaking grows. Kicking my legs out my foot hits the nap couch armrest. In my flailing, the blankest and pillows fall to the floor. Gasping on my hands and knees I want to scream but even in the empty house I feel eyes watching me, and no screams come out.

My hands scratch at my stomach, neck, and arms, my hands hold and squeeze my head my breath staggering.

I want out, but I don't know why, the pressure inside is so intense I can feel my skin tearing with the pressure, but no seems rip. I scratch and scratch and scratch blood sticking under my nails as my skin peels.

But the pressure remains unwavering.

My eyes blur, the edges going black, and I scream a quiet scream one no louder than a whispered whimper.

"Jara, remember I was the one to tell you the story," a cheerful voice whispers in my ears a distant memory. "Want to know why?"

"Why?" I asked.

"Not telling," Libby giggles "I'll show you if you call for me."

"Call for you, that's easy, hey Libby tell me why," I say.

"No, no Jara you have to call for me when I'm not there, when you need to escape, then I will show you why."

"Escape? Escape from what?"

"You." Libby giggles "Look at me being cryptic haha."

Libby never answered my questions after that she ignored me whenever I asked always saying the same thing, 'only when you call to escape'.

I want to leave...I want to leave...let me out...

"Libby...K...get me out."

"As you wish," K says.

And my vision completely cuts out.
