[62] RANDOM FACTS & OPINIONS
hello!
today i thought i would tell you guys some random facts about myself and some different opinions i have!
fact 1: Beauty and the Beast
Beauty and the Beast is a story that i hold very close to my heart. growing up, i was considered very strange (and i still am) for being childish and wanting to sit inside and read. kinda like belle. it gave me hope that achieving a fairy tale in my own, regular life could be possible. i also like the idea of the princess saving the prince and that looks don't matter. When the new version of beauty and the beast was announced to come out, i almost started crying. Not only was i excited to see my favorite tale in non-animation, but i was also going to see my role model (emma watson) portray the character that i hold deeply to my heart. after watching the movie, i was pretty close to crying. it was scary seeing my favorite fairy tale all grown up and i'm terrified of letting it go.
fact 2: Quote
my all time favorite quote is from "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban."
it goes:
"Happiness can be found in even the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light."
opinion 1: Fandom Bashing
Fandom bashing is not cool.
I don't care if you hate that fandom with all your heart; you are allowed to.
You are NOT allowed to make someone feel like shit for being in a fandom.
I admit: I used to love the twilight saga. When i first joined wattpad, that was the only story idea i had and i was desperate to start writing. As time passed, people began to hate on twilight and would judge me if i said i liked it.
guess what happened next.
i no longer like twilight. it has been picked apart by so many people and yes, some of the things are true, but nonetheless, i still feel a burden whenever i see the books on my profile. i become so tempted to delete or even move them to separate account, but i never have the guts to do so. it sucks that this has happened, but i have come to love more fandoms and i will always be proud of my work even if people hate it.
opinion 2: naming books
(please know that this isn't targeting one person or multiple people)
I don't understand the appeal of naming books after a popular published book.
the author worked so hard to come up with the book title and then someone uses it for their own fan fiction, that has absolutely nothing to do with the original fandom.
for example: someone wants to write a teen wolf fanfic
then decides to name it "city of bones".
it would make sense if it was a crossover with the fandom the book is named after, but if it's just a regular fanfic story, i just don't understand why someone would name that title.
fact 3: artificial light pt1
artificial light was originally about me.
i was in a bad place when the idea came to me, and i always wondered
"what would happen if someone had the courage to make me smile?"
thus, artificial light came to me.
now, it's just about making someone happy, but before it was about someone making me happy
(i know it's cheesy haha)
fact 4: artificial light pt2
artificial light was also a test subject.
i wanted to write my own works, but i was terrified of failing and finding out people like my fanfictions better.
if artificial light was a success, then i would have the courage to pursue my original works.
if artificial wasn't a success, then i'd focus more on fanfiction.
thankfully, it has become a success and a project i'm very proud of.
after artificial light and most likely artificial sunshine is done, my next project will most likely be The Hunted.
opinion 3: problematic celebs
in some of the books i read, the authors use faceclaims that are described as problematic (which a lot of them are and i'm not ashamed to admit that)
i'm totally good with not using a problematic celebrity, but it sucks when people are bashed for using a problematic celebrity as a faceclaim.
there's something that some people don't notice:
the faceclaim is a faceclaim. if a character has a problematic faceclaim, it does not mean that the character is bad, or even that the author is bad. the character could have a completely different faceclaim, and the character would still be the same. \
opinion 4: superheroes
i'm not a very big fan of marvel/dc/super hero movies.
but that does not mean i won't give them a chance.
I watched amazing spiderman 1 & 2 and i quite enjoyed them.
i also tried to watch thor, and i was getting ready to watch the next one but at the end of the movie it told me i had to watch the avengers movie and i was like "i'm out"
i don't really know why i'm not a fan of these types of movies; perhaps it's the fact that many of them propose cliche ideas (i'm don't enjoy cliches).
the only superhero movie that i absolutely love (i don't even know if it's considered a superhero movie but it is marvel so??) is deadpool. I enjoy the non-clicheness, and of course, the vulgar language.
fact 5: chocolate
you may be shocked by this, but i actually don't like chocolate.
and i mean like every single type of chocolate.
when i was like, idk 5? my mom put a chocolate chip on my tongue and apparently i had a huge spaz attack and i hadn't even chewed it cx
i also remember that whenever i'd get christmas advent calenders, i would always leave the chocolate out for my dad and he would gladly eat it.
and my parents made me trick or treat almost every single year so they could have all the candy (i only like chips and like 2 flavours of lollipops) and they would be so happy that i got the motherload
even for easter and valentine's day, i don't get chocolate.
like last easter, my mom got me season 1 and 2 of teen wolf and for valentine's day this year, my mom got me a stuffed animal c:
for easter, when i was younger my mom would put little toys (like polly pockets or littlest pet shops) in eggs and hide them around the house and my brothers would be digging into their chocolate while i'd be playing with my new toys oops
fact 6: age
idk if i'm ready to release my age because i'm scared that i'll be judged but i will tell you guys this:
I am in highschool
(in canada which is grade 10,11 & 12)
which means my age range is 15-17
if you guys really want to know how old i am. i'll give you a hint.
if you get it, there's really no need to announce it but you can comment if you're older or younger than me
okay so when my birthday comes this year (june 23), i will reach the age that many people celebrate and lots of parties happen in movies when someone turns this age
(remember, between 15-17)
fact 7: The Hunted pt1
I came up with this story idea a long time ago, and it was originally going to be a fanfiction.
it was going to be a the vampire diaries fanfic because i love stefan salvatore (yeah yeah i know the ending even though i don't watch the series)
but when i realized i had the chance to make it original, i came up with Arden and how she's chasing after her brother after he's kidnapped by vampires when they're younger. I love the idea that a main character's whole storyline/ character traits is/are created because of one family member instead of a love interest. I also love characters who act like their badasses but inside, they're just trying to survive. (aka Arden)
I'm so excited to write this story and i'm constantly going over my notes in my millions of my notebooks and creating more notes and i really hope that this story goes well!
fact 8: The hunted pt2
one of the quotes from the hunted is:
"I don't fear death. I envy it."
i love this quote so much asdfghjkl
fact 9: of ashes
of ashes is a bit of a challenge for me to write.
why?
because the main character is a supernatural creature that i made up.
you can imagine why this is hard.
I have to create a backstory, the abilities that the creature has, the weaknesses that is has and a bunch of other things.
it's challenging me and preparing me for the hunted (aka vampire and werewolves but they have unique traits that i created) and i'm excited to see how this turns out.
fact 10: graphic design
when i selected my courses for next year, i chose computer graphic design and this means i'm going to finally learn how to use photoshop (:
i'm excited for my graphics to improve, but if it comes to a point where it's always graphics and never writing, i will most likely stop making graphics.
fact 11: new story?
i'm tempted to start planning a story like beauty and the beast but we will have to see how it goes cx
that's all i have for you guys today. and yes, i do realize that there's more facts than opinions but some opinions i have could start arguments and that's the last thing i want to happen.
if you guys would like to see me do something,
(such as reviewing more books, or even movies, i could do a certain tag, idfk)
let me know!
also, i want to have a poll.
What/Who do you think will reach 2k first?
Me (1.81k followers),
artificial light (1.76k)
or
Forgotten sunrise [the old twilight fanfic that no reads] which is at (1.99k)
