EXTENDED SUMMARY 

Juniper "J" Sanchez was only 9 years old when she felt true fear. Not only was her mother dying from a disease that they could not afford to treat, her oldest brother was reaped for the 62nd Hunger Games. It was the definition of good and bad news, good news her brother arose victorious after a brutal fight in the games, bad news, her mother didn't make it to see her son come home. 

The next time she ever felt this type of fear again was 6 years later, during another reaping. But this time instead of any of her siblings, it was her name pulled out of the bowl. Juniper was ready to die in the arena, no one expected her to survive this. She expected to die in the bloodbath, but by some miracle she managed to escape. Next thing she knew, she was standing next to the cornucopia covered in blood, victorious just like her brother years ago. 

But nothing is compared to the third time. It was fear you could only experience in a nightmare. A nightmare many victors thought they would never have to face again. For Juniper Sanchez, this nightmare became reality when President Snow announced that the Third Quarter Quell will be reaped from existing victors. June didn't know how to breathe knowing this. When it came to her family, they'd do anything for one another. She knew Nick would sacrifice himself by any means necessary without thinking twice to keep his little sister safe. That is why when his name is called, and June's face scolded into unbelievable horror,  is when their mentor Ollie volunteers in his place, shocking not only the Sanchez family, but the whole of Panem. 

Everyone remembers Ollie Cameron's games. They remember the broken boy that came out the arena after watching the love of his life die in his arms. They remember the sixteen year old boy, refusing to talk to anyone for several weeks, not even his family. He came back home beaten, unable to move on. This caused problems for the capital when it came to his victory tour, but refused to say anything when he goes on stage. President Snow did not take it lightly to this, for which to get him to cooperate, that he will kill everyone until he agrees to do the tour. All it took was his little brother being murdered and his mother getting lashed in front of the whole district to get him to cooperate. It didn't mean he had much to say. He finished the tour, but became a hollow shell ever since. 

Nick and Juniper Sanchez were the first people who he let past his walls. Against everything he fought to stop, he found himself starting to care for the siblings, as he was both their mentor in their games. He still remembers hearing Nick's pleas as his little sister is reaped, begging him to help her by any means necessary, just like Ollie did for him. Ollie kept his promise, but his promise is soon taken away from him for the Third Quarter Quell. Even though the games ruined him, he refused to let what happened to him happen to the Sanchez family. So, without even thinking about it, when Nick's name is called to call go to back into the arena with his little sister, Ollie volunteers to take his place, much to his disagreement. 

Now June and Ollie must go back into the Games with legendary players with Nick as their mentor, and with the amazing girl on fire who manipulated the game markers the previous year to save the 'love of her life' after they both threatened to kill themselves so the capitol will have no victor at all. When Plutarch Heavensbee and Haymitch Abernathy come to them with a secret rebellion, the district five team do not hesitate to agree. June plans going into these games with a mission, to save the mockingjay with any means necessary. But things will get hard when she develops feelings for a certain district four victor, who has spent years trying to win her over with his devilish charms and outstanding good looks. Juniper is in for a hell of a ride when she enters the Third Quarter Quell. The odds are definitely not in her favour.
