Getting rid of the trash
Lorelei's POV
Lorelei never killed anyone but it was like she knew what to do. She took some bed sheets from her room and took Grandpa Malcom's corpse, well what's remaining if it on the bed sheet and she tied it up.
She went to the shed again to get a shovel. Lorelei went back in to get Grandpa Malcom's body. She saw Grandma Lucinda kneeling next to the bed sheets. "Please forgive us", she cried.
Lorelei hated how Lucinda worshipped Malcom. He abused her too. She keeps on telling her that he was a good man before. Lorelei still didn't buy it.
She went over and took the bed sheets. Lucinda cried even more, clutching onto Lorelei's leg. "Let go of me woman", Lorelei ordered.
Grandma Lucinda just as she was told. Lorelei felt a bit bad. She did this to help her, not hurt her. But that feeling quickly subsided . She tossed the bed sheets and the shovel in the back of the truck. Then she drove off.
She took some driving lessons at school but she was a bit rusty. She couldn't care less. She drove for a few miles west then stopped the car. She got off the truck and took the shovel and started digging. It took her a while but she finally did it.
She dropped the shovel and took the bed sheets and threw them in, then she filled the hole with sand. She didn't like the thought of burying a monster next to the house. He didn't deserve a proper funeral. No coffin, no family members to say goodbye to him. So what if she was a bastard child Malcom claimed her to be? That didn't give him any right to hurt her.
Well, at least she's not chopped up into pieces and got buried in the ground. That thought made her laugh. She took the shovel and got in the truck. She looked at the place she buried Malcom for the last time.
It was where Lucinda made her a tyre swing. She'd used to go there to get away from Malcom's rage. She inhaled deeply then drove away.
When she got home, she didn't see Lucinda downstairs. She looked for her in the living room. The floor was stilled stained with blood. Malcom's blood was soaked in his chair.
Lorelei went upstairs to Lucinda's room. She saw her packing. Lorelei leaned against the doorway. "Where do you think you're going", Lorelei asked. That gave Lucinda such a shock, she dropped the sweater she was holding. "Sweetie, I uhmm... I can't stay here anymore", she said, picking up her sweater.
"What do you mean can't stay here?", Lorelei asked, stepping closer. Lucinda sat on the bed. "You killed someone, my husband-", "How can you call that beast your husband?!", Lorelei demanded. Lucinda just brome down in tears. Lorelei felt uncomfortable. Why is she crying when I'm only telling her the truth Lorelei thought.
She took the rest of Lucinda's clothes and stashed them in the bag. Lorelei took the bag and threw it out the window. "Nooo!", Lucinda wailed. "Fine! If you want to go, then go. I was only just trying to help us", she shouted, turning away. "Also, don't you dare tell anyone about this, got it", she said without turning her back. Lucinda nodded.
She couldn't believe the child she raised grew up to be an even more worse of a monster than Malcom. She got up trembling and went downstairs. Lorelei followed. Before she closed the dorm behind her she said, "And Lorelei dear, your parents still love you". Then she closed the door.
That would've made Lorelei happy to hear. But instead, it infuriated her. She went back to the living room and say on Malcom's chair. She didn't care that it was bloody. She felt good seating there. She felt like she had the power. She felt no remorse for what she did. She knew what she did was a good thing. She now had the house all to herself. She could do whatever, whenever.
Your parents still love you. Lucinda's words rang in Lorelei's head. How could they love her? Do they even know that she's still alive or dead. Well she did feel kind of dead inside. She loved the smell of blood. It sent electricity though her veins. She didn't care about what will happen to her in the future. She wanted to live in the present. In that bloody couch, Lorelei felt at peace.
