Kyle's POV
"Errands? What errands?" Elizabeth asked as Kyle got dressed. "It doesn't matter. It's just something important I can't miss it," Kyle said, putting on a white hoodie. "Well be safe. I'm just taking the girls out," Elizabeth said. "Girls? What girls and where?" Kyle tied his shoelaces and slung his backpack over his shoulder. "Lorelei and her friend. I'm gonna get them something to wear at the Dance Formal," Elizabeth said in glee. "Oh right. That," Kyle sighed. He wasn't looking forward to going to the Dance Formal with Stellar. "Maybe we can take girl you're dating with us," Elizabeth suggested. "No!" Kyle said. Elizabeth was taken back by the comment. "I mean, I'm sure she already has something to wear. She's always prepared that way," he said. "Very well," Elizabeth said, clearly not satisfied with the response. "I gotta get going. See you guys later," Kyle said as he stormed down the stairs. "Hi Kyle," he heard a girl call out. He turned around and saw a girl with grey hair cut into a pixie cut standing by the stair case. How did he not notice her and who was she. "Hi. And you are?" he asked. "Oh, you might not know me but I'm Krystal. With a K," she said. Kyle raised a brow. "Who?" he was really sure that he didn't know this girl. "I'm new at Twin Oaks High," she said, fiddling with her sleeves. "Oh. Nice meeting you," he said completely not sure of what to do afterwards. The girl smiled and ran upstairs. "Weird," Kyle said under his breath.
"You're late," Mark said, as he was leaning against the wall with his arms crossed. The hair blew in his brown fluffy hair and his freckles were more clearer in the light. "What? It's not my fault you like to wake up early," Kyle said, heading inside the library with Mark. "Wake up? Man, I didn't even sleep. I've been up all night just thinking about this," Mark brushed his hair with his hand. "How much adderall did you have?" Kyle asked. He knew that Mark was obsessed with that thing. "A lot," Mark chuckled. "You do get that that thing can kill you, right?" Kyle asked. "It's harmless," Mark said. "Whatever dude. So is he really coming?" Kyle asked. His hands were starting to shake. "I don't think so. He said he had to deal with something important," Mark answered. Kyle was glad that he wasn't coming over but was at little disappointed at the same time. He wanted to ask him in person if he could help him trace where his dad is. He didn't love the old man but he didn't like seeing his mom all sad. Was Lorelei right about what she said about his mom being stressed all the time with no one to help her? He brushed the thought off as he went to sit at a nearby table with a couple of students studying. A man in a black leather jacket and black jeans with a suitcase came over to sit next to them. Kyle knew very well who he was. "Deandre," Kyle nodded in acknowledgement. "Where's the imbecile?" Deandre asked as he placed the suitcase on the table. "Imbe-," Kyle looked beside him. No sign of Mark. Idiot, Kyle thought. "Does it really matter?" Kyle asked. Deandre chuckled. "I suppose not," he answered as he pushed the suitcase towards Kyle. As he was about to open it, Deandre firmly placed his hand on the suitcase. "Don't open it here," he said. "Right. Just wanted to make sure it's legit," Kyle said as he set the suitcase next to him. Deandre leaned against his chair and scoffed. "When has it not?" he said. Kyle just shrugged. There was awkward silence between them. Then Deandre decided to break the ice. "I'm guessing you're wondering why he didn't show up," he said, reading Kyle's mind. "I'm suppose," Kyle answered, not sure of what else to say. "Kid, you know he doesn't come to places like these unless it's urgent," Deandre tapped his fingers on the wooden table. "But this is," Kyle said under his breath. Deandre raised a brow. "How?" Deandre said, making it obvious about how curious he was. Kyle sighed. "Never mind. It doesn't matter." As Kyle was about to get up, Deandre grabbed his arm. "Kid, if you have anything you want to say, you can tell me. You know that," he said, looking at him directly in eyes. Kyle nodded and pulled his hand away from him and grabbing the suitcase. "I'll call you later about any updates," he said as he left the library. Outside, he saw Mark eating the most sloppiest chilli dog he has ever seen. But miraculously, Mark managed to eat it with getting himself messy. "Dude, what the hell!" Kyle cursed. "What? I was hungry and you know we aren't allowed to eat in the library," Mark explained. Kyle sighed then smirked. "Since when do you care about the rules in the library?" he sneered. "Since I started enjoying the place," he waved his chilli dog too close to Kyle. "Bro, keel that thing away from me," Kyle scrunched his nose in disgust. "Whatever. You wished you had this. So did you tell him about it?" Mark asked as he bit into his chilli dog. "Deandre? Nah. I couldn't," he ran his fingers through his hair as he clutched the suitcase. "Why?" Mark asked with his mouth full. "Because first of all, they know me as Kyle Anderson. Not Kyle Cohen. They'll wonder why I care about dad's whereabouts," Kyle explained to Mark. "Because you have a major crush on him," Mark joked. Kyle kicked his butt. "Dude, that sick! That my dad you're talking about," Kyle sighed. "And, if I were to ask for any help, I'd need to ask him directly. I wonder where is dad right now."
Alvaro's POV
"It's delivered boss," Deandre said over the phone. "Good," Alvaro said as he hung up. Yes, Alvaro Wilson also known as Jack Frost. No one never really knew why he called himself Jack Frost. Some people thought that since he deals with cocain, code name Snow, that made him Jack Frost since he was in control of it. The man was indeed a mystery. A man everyone truly feared. The devil himself, gracing people with his presence, to those who rarely see him. He ruled with an iron fist, trying to govern the world in secrecy. This man was indeed a true druglord in Italy. No one knows about his upbringing or how he got to power. There were rumours, which were all rubbish. No one dared to question his authority. Alvaro never left Italy unless it meant important business. And today, he was not in a good mood. He walked into his warehouse which was isolated and heard wails of pain. Harold was tied to a chair and was blindfolded. He's clothes were tattered and soaked with blood. His blood. Harold begged for them to stop beating him. Alvaro took out a cigar. He sniffed it before lighting it. He took one puff, two puffs and at the third one, he chuckled. "Harold Cohen, my old friend. Has any ever told you that you cry like a bitch? Quite saddening really. Wonder what your wife thinks," he placed the cigar between his teeth and rolled up his leaves to show off his tanned muscles and removed the blindfold from Harold. "You could make this easy by telling me what I need to know," Alvaro smirked down at him. "I d-don't know w - what you're t-talkinhlg about," Harold said in between his breaths. Alvaro sighed. "Your apprentice is quite clueless," he crouched down to Haroldston level, forcing him to look at him. Seeing his perfectly chiselled jawline, sparkling white teeth, his salt and pepper hair with his gorgeous light brown eyes. "Apprentice?" Harold asked. "Right, you don't know," Alvaro grinned. "Your little apprentice is actually your son. Took me a while to glue the pieces together. Your son, that dimwit was actually willing to help you out of your debt. He is brave, I might say," Alvaro enjoyed looking at Harold's surprised expression. "But don't worry. It'll be all over soon," said Alvaro as he blew smoke into Harold's face and stood up. He threw the small bit of what was left of his cigar and punched Harold as hard as he could at his ribs, making sure to break a few at the process.
Lorelei's POV
Lorelei was outside, sitting on a swing she found tied to a tree not too far from the house. She gazing upon the billions of stars at the night sky. She heard the crickets chirp, music to her ears. She wore a windbreaker because of the cold weather outside. Lorelei wondered what happened to Lucinda after what happened at the station. She didn't if she'd miss her as much. The way she looked at her as if she was a rabid dog ready to bite her. Then she wondered where her parents were at this very moment. Some part of her wished that Krystal stayed a bit longer. Then another thought popped into her mind. What was going on between Krystal and Stellar? After Lorelei's last encounter with Stellar, she said something about keeping Krystal in a leash. What was all If that about. But when someone mentioned something about Stellar, she'd be more quite than usual. She'd try to focus on something else. "I wonder," she said under her voice. "Hey." Someone broke Lorelei's train of thought. She turned around and saw the last person she wanted to see. "Oh, it's you," Lorelei rolled her eyes as Kyle leaned against the tree. "Of course it's me. Who else would it be?" Kyle smiled but Lorelei ignored him. "Okay, look. I'm truly sorry. I didn't know what got over me that day. I wasn't feeling myself. I- I guess I was stressed. There's a lot going on. School, football practice which I missed last week-," Lorelei cut him off. "I'm also stressed but you don't see me try to strangle people," she scoffed. "-and my dad," Kyle said as he looked at his feet. Lorelei looked at him. "Your dad? What about him?" she asked. "Haven't you noticed? He hasn't been here for days. Maybe a whole week. He's not picking up his calls, his not replying to my messages. I'm worried," he said, his gaze still fixed on the ground. "Maybe his busy with work," Lorelei plainly said. She looked at Kyle and saw that he didn't buy it, she sighed and tried harder. "I mean, maybe he's only trying to focus on work and is too busy to reply to your messages." Yikes. That sounded even worse. "Arghhh! Look. What I'm trying to say is-" Kyle cut her off. "There's no need to lie to try and make me feel better. My mom has been doing that my whole life," Kyle said. She wanted to ask what did he mean but she knew it was none of her business. "Kyle, parents often lie to their kids in order for them to protect them at all cost. We, kids might not understand or think they don't love us when they hide information from us, but sometimes it's just best to live not knowing," she gave Kyle some word of advice. Then she processed what she just said. Maybe her grandparents were hiding where or who her parents are for a reason. She then remembered the little wooden box placed under her bed. "I guess you're right," Kyle smirked, "look at you being all wise." Lorelei rolled her eyes then smiled. "You're annoying," she said. "I know. Lorelei, I'm really sorry for what happened the other day," Kyle apologised. "It's fine. I don't hold grudges," she lied. She still held a grudge against that little kid who stole her pink pen in kindergarten. And she held a huge grudge against Stellar. "How is Stellar?" Lorelei asked. "Who?" Kyle asked, seeming as if Lorelei snapped him out of his own thoughts. "Your girlfriend," Lorelei emphasised the word girlfriend. "Oh. Her. She's alright I suppose," he answered. "So are you taking her to the Dance Formal?" Lorelei asked. "Nope," Kyle said with no emotions at all. Lorelei's eyes widened. Kyle laughed. "I'm joking. Of course I'm taking her," he said but he didn't seem too happy about it. "Why are you so invested?" he asked. Lorelei shook her head. "Nothing much," she said. "You don't have a date, do you?" Kyle smirked. "Shut up," Lorelei hugged her knees. Kyle stepped forward and looked at Lorelei. "It's okay. It's not a bad thing. I don't even think I'll be spending the whole night with Stellar. Maybe I'll spend half of it with you," he mumbled the last part but loud enough that Lorelei. She looked at him. His purple orbs twinkled. And he looked into her golden ones. The eyes locked for a seconds. "Or I'll be puking my gits out with the guys," Kyle joked. "And you ruined it," Lorelei stood up and walked to the direction if the house. She heard Kyle running from behind. "Race you to the house," he said as his pace increased. "No fair!" Lorelei smiled and chased in pursuit.
