Twice

Teller did the few dishes in the sink after Tay-Yun left for a meeting at the company. Wan-Nu ended up staying behind, making several phone calls that Teller only slightly overheard. He had a feeling that he was going to go after their manager now, but he couldn't find any reason to tell him not to. Sure, he could use the money from the next show, and Ike said he needed it, but the cost was starting to become dangerous.

When he'd finished up his calls, Teller was just wiping down the last of the counter space with a damp cloth. "I called the police to investigate the situation with your manager. They are already heading over to the hotel they are staying at to check on the other two members of Mimic."

Nodding in acknowledgement, Teller walked over to sink and rinsed the cloth he'd used, then set it over the middle metal section of the double sink to dry before turning to Wan-Nu. "Thank you, and sorry that I had told you not to get them involved in the first place." He said, his voice quieting as he spoke.

Wan-Nu walked over and patted his shoulder, then gave it a gentle squeeze for reassurance. "I understand, Teller. Would you be willing to talk to the police if they want to ask you questions?" He asked, making Teller fidget. He was quiet for a few moments before he gave a hesitant nod.

"Yeah. I'll talk to them...  but can you please make sure that they don't contact my grandmother?" He asked, worried what she would do if she found out that he'd been getting hurt by his manager.

Probably fly over here and castrate him. After her book club, of course.

Reaching up to rub at his neck, Wan-Nu hesitated, then licked his lips nervously before replying. "Technically, you are still a child here in Korea, though not in America anymore, I believe? It really depends on what the police want to do with that information, because you must be nineteen to be a legal adult here."

I should have known that after having studied.

"Okay. Hopefully they can see my side of it and not call her, but we'll see." He said, trying to sound optimistic.

Wan-Nu gave him a reassuring smile and walked over to the fridge after grabbing a cup from the cupboard. He filled it halfway with orange juice, then grabbed a container from the fridge after checking what was in it.

"I'm going to assume he doesn't like spicy things." Wan-Nu asked as he turned around, making Teller grin.

"No. He hates them." He said.

"I should put hot sauce on it then." Wan-Nu said more to himself than to Teller as he grabbed a fork from a drawer, but Teller still chuckled as he headed for the living room, intent on cleaning as much as he could. They'd let him stay, after all, so the least he could do was keep the place nice and clean.

Wan-Nu stepped back into En-Ti's room, not surprised to see Ike sitting up against the headboard with a few pillows between it and his injured back.

"Feeling any better?" Wan-Nu asked as he walked over, handing the container of garlic chicken and sticky rice to Ike, along with the fork. He set the juice on a coaster on the nightstand.

The guy flipped the lid open and sniffed at the meat, hesitant to try it. "Is not spicy." Wan-Nu said, holding back an eye roll as Ike scowled at him.

Ike poked at a piece of chicken a few times, making Wan-Nu want to smack him. He'd never felt truly annoyed by someone unless they played around with food. It was meant to be eaten, and he wouldn't lie to the guy about the heat. He didn't even know Ike and while he was told by Teller that he could be an ass, he couldn't just treat him badly.

When Ike poked at the food again, Wan-Nu grabbed the fork from him and put a piece of the chicken into his mouth. "Is garlic flavor. Eat it or not, but don't push food." He said, making Ike raise an eyebrow at him, though he didn't understand why.

"Push food?" Ike said, his tone sarcastic.

Wan-Nu knew he wasn't perfect at English, but Ike didn't even know a word of Korean from what he understood, so he wasn't sure why he was poking fun at him.

"Yes. Push, like this." Wan-Nu said as he leaned over and pushed Ike's head slightly to the side.

He'd never instigated someone on purpose, but Ike was really starting to annoy him. It was obvious that Ike wanted to retaliate right away, but the guy seemed to think better of it. Instead, he set the food aside on the bed and moved to get up, but Wan-Nu refused to step back, blocking him unless he moved to the foot of the bed.

"Dude, just let me up. I need to piss." Ike growled.

Wan-Nu considered making him move, but he knew that such a thought was childish. He wouldn't stoop to Ike's level. Stepping back, he let him get up, then lead him out of the bedroom and down the hall to the right.

"There." He said, gesturing to the closed bathroom door.

Ike said nothing as he walked past him, nearly slamming the bathroom door as he stepped inside.

"Having fun?" Teller asked as he walked by with a broom, dustpan, and container of disinfectant wipes.

Wan-Nu gave him a look, but there was no hostility in it as he moved to lean against the wall and wait for Ike. "He's driving me crazy. How did you ever deal with being around him?" He asked, drawing a grin from Teller.

"He's a brat, but sometimes he wasn't terrible."

The look Wan-Nu gave him made Teller stifle a laugh as he waved, disappearing into Tay-Yun's room to clean.

That left Wan-Nu alone and the guy took a few moments to sigh out his stress as he rustled his hair with his hands. He needed to remain professional. He never got angry or frustrated at people. It just wasn't his personality.

When Ike stepped out of the bathroom a few minutes later, Wan-Nu was back in control of himself. "Do you have more of that stuff you used on my back?" Ike asked as he walked right past Wan-Nu toward the bedroom.

Wan-Nu followed him, pointing to the computer desk where he'd left the tube. Ike went to it immediately, but instead of asking him to help put it on his back again, he squeezed a little bit into his right hand, then began lifting it toward his black eye.

"No!" Wan-Nu yelled, grabbing Ike's wrist right before the medicine could touch his skin.

"The hell dude! It fucking hurts, let me use it." He growled.

Wan-Nu shook his head and jerked Ike's hand back down. "No. Is not for eyes." He said, remembering how badly En-Ti said it burned when he accidentally rubbed his eyes after using it.

"I won't get it in my stupid eye! How old do you think I am that I would be dumb enough to rub this shit into my eye?" Ike nearly yelled, making Wan-Nu exhale in frustration and turn around, stalking back to the desk just to lean on it and grasp the edge, trying to keep himself from overreacting.

"I think you're twelve, you fool." He ground out.

Ike was suddenly beside him, grabbing his shoulders and spinning him around to shove him against the wall beside the desk. They were nearly even in height, allowing Ike to lean in and snarl in Wan-Nu's face.

"What the fuck did you just say?"

Wan-Nu glared up at the ceiling for a moment before lowering his gaze back down to Ike.

"I think you are twelve." He stated, leaving out the last little part.

What he said seemed to have made Ike mad enough anyways, because he was visibly grinding his teeth when he replied. "I'm fucking twenty-seven!"

"Congratulations. I'm thirty-five and have never met such a unnecessarily aggressive child." Wan-Nu hissed right back between gritted teeth.

The door to the room creaked just then, drawing their attention to Teller, who stood there, his eyes wide with surprise and worry.

"Did you hear what this asshole said just now?" Ike yelled, making Teller fidget, but nod. "You understand him?" Ike added, earning another slight nod.

When neither of them spoke for a moment, Ike shoved Wan-Nu harder against the wall as he yelled at Teller. "Fucking translate it, you idiot!"

Wan-Nu could only think that the furious guy in front of him was the idiot, but he bit his tongue and pleaded with his eyes to Teller not to repeat what he'd heard. It had been inappropriate, even if it wasn't nearly as bad as what Ike had been yelling. He just highly disliked being negative to people, even if they seemed to deserve it.

Teller licked his lips, clearly trying to think of something else to say besides what Wan-Nu had actually spoken in Korean. When Ike released Wan-Nu and started for him, he stumbled backward and squeaked. "He said he thinks you're cute!" Then slammed the door shut.

He expected at least one of them to yell run out of the room, but when silence met his ears, Teller slowly backed away until he was near the kitchen. I think I just locked a lion in with a fox... but the fox is by far smarter, so maybe it will survive?

The front door opened just then, making him jump slightly before looking around the corner to see Tay-Yun. "Hey!" He said excitedly as he ran up, wrapping his arms around the guy for no apparent reason.

"Miss me?" Tay-Yun questioned, clearly taken aback a bit. He wrapped his arms around Teller after a moment, then leaned in and stole a quick kiss from the top of his head.

"I think I might have killed Wan-Nu." Teller mumbled against Tay-Yun's chest, making him tilt his head curiously and look down the hall.

"How so?" Tay-Yun asked, clearly not really believing him for a second.

Teller looked back down the hall, pointing. "Him and Ike were fighting and I uh, kinda translated something a bit wrong, then shut the door abruptly... but it just got really quiet afterward." He said as he grabbed the hem of Tay-Yun's shirt with his other hand.

Tay-Yun smiled and grasped Teller's hand that was holding his shirt, then tugged him down the hall toward the room. "I'm sure it's not bad. Wan-Nu never looses his cool."

They stopped in front of the door and Tay-Yun reached for the knob. It turned right before he could grab it, then Wan-Nu stomped out, his face red with anger. Tay-Yun could just gape and stare as he stormed out of sight.

It took him a minute to pull himself back together. When he'd gotten over the fact that his manager just actually got furious at someone, he turned his attention into En-TI's room. Ike was lying on the floor, trying to push himself up, but clearly in too much pain to do so.

He should have gone to help, or allowed Teller to do so, but instead, he kept his hold on Teller's hand and leaned in the door. "Welcome to the real world. Fix your attitude, or it will make you fall." He then shut the door, content with the warning he'd issued to the idiot.
