(5 years ago) Kate's POV

I can't believe I did this. I'm the good girl, I don't just sleep with random guys. But he was so hot and I was drunk. And so was he, I think. At least I was smart enough to not give the guy my first name. I told him my name is Hallie. Which wasn't a complete lie, it's my middle name. He told me his name was Blake. But who knows if that's true or not.

It was a great night. I hadn't had sex in years as I was so focused on school. But I wake up the next morning to him gone. I was annoyed, but didn't take it personally. It was a one night stand after all. I just showered, checked out and went back to my friends apartment. I was visiting her while on vacation before my senior year at college.

She told me the guy was obviously a jerk and to forget him. We had a girl day with shopping and a spa day. I stayed with her for a few more days before going home to my mum and step dad. Who's rich, like stupid rich. Mum only married him because of his money, where as he genuinely loves her.

A few weeks later I started to feel nauseous and light headed. So I went to the doctor and found out I was pregnant. I told my mum and she kicked me out. I moved in with my best friend, lucky she was closer to my school. But still it sucked being kicked out by my own mother.

A month later my stepdad got in contact with me and told me he had divorced my mum. He said if I ever needed anything, I was always welcome in his home. As he sees me as his own daughter. I see as more of a father figure then my real father. As he raised me since I was six, mum was to busy spending her money to care about me. My biological dad was killed in action when I was only a toddler.

Jason's POV

"Damn it" I curse as I go stand by the window. I haven't been able to focus on work since that night with Hallie. Nor have I been able to get off with sleeping with other girls. It's who I was, the play boy millionaire who had a new girl every week in his bed. But for the last two months, nothing.

"Still thinking about that girl?" Dan asks with a knowing smirk. I give him a look and he chuckles. "You are so wiped man" he states. "I told you that night not to try your luck with her as she doesn't accept advances. Though I was surprised when she agreed to drink with you that night. Every other night I'd seen her at the club, she turned every guy down. Even me" he explains. "Then can she drank a lot that night" he adds.

"Your point?" I ask him.

"My point is, she obviously liked you on some level and you clearly have a thing for her. Why not find her and pursue a relationship with her" he suggests.

"Because I'm not that guy, I don't fall in love with girls. I don't marry them or start a family. I'm the millionaire play boy and always will be" I tell him.

"I bet your wrong" he says smirking. "One day you two will reunite and you won't be able to let her go. See you around" he says before leaving my office. I sigh rubbing my temples. Before getting back to my paper work.

(Five years later) Kate's POV

So turns out I was pregnant with fraternal twins. The twins are currently three. But turn four in seven weeks. I have a part time job as a vet nurse. It's not my passion, but it pays the bills and I do have a degree in vet nursing. It allowed me to be with my kids. Blake and Hallie. Yes I named my son after the man I slept with and gave my daughter my middle name as her first name.

I love my kids to the moon and back. I'd do anything to protect them. Wade my former step dad loves them and spoils them whenever we visit him. He's offered me money to help raise them. But I refused it. But he still opened a bank account for each twin. Putting a ten grand in each every birthday and Christmas. On top of the presents he gets them.

Anyway today I have an interview at Mitchell Incorporated a major electronics company. The job position was a secretary to the CEO. I'd be getting twice the pay then I am at my current job. It'll only be part time though as I still have to look after the twins. When they weren't in daycare, my friend Rhiannon would look after them. As she works from home most days. We still live together, but have a house now. Not an apartment.

"Ok be good for your aunt" I tell the twins.

"We will mummy" Hallie assures me.

"We love you mummy" Blake says giving me a hug kissing my cheek.

"I love you both" I tell them giving them both a hug.

"I'll take good care of them Kate, it's my day off. We'll be at the park when you get back" she tells me. I nod my head thanking her. I hugged her before leaving. I drove to the main building and went inside.

"Do you have an appointment?" the woman at the desk asks.

"Yes, I'm here for an interview about the job opening" I tell her. She scowls.

"You must be Miss Anderson" a guy says behind me. I turn to see a guy with dark hair and dark brown eyes. "I'm Daniel Johnson, the chief operations officer. I'll be conducting the interview" he tells me. Holding a hand out.

"Kate Anderson" I say shaking his hand.

"Please follow me, get back to work Lilith" he tells the girl. He leads me to the elevator. "Just ignore her, petty thing. Has a major crush on the CEO and wants the job you're applying for" he tells me. I nod my head. "So tell me a little about yourself" he states.

"Not much to say, I live with my two kids and best friend and work part time as a vet nurse at the local vet clinic" I state.

"Vet nurse? What made you apply for this job?" he asks me curious.

"Computers are my passion, I only became a vet nurse as it was close to my home and the pay is good enough to support my family. But I figured with them starting school next year I should look at getting a better paying job" I explain.

"This job would also allow you to work from home on occasions also" he states as we reach the top floor. "Right this way" he says and leads me to an office.

"If you don't mind me asking Mr Johnson, why are you conducting the interview?" I ask him curious.

"Because Jason is in an important business meeting" he states. "And please call me Daniel" he adds as we entered the office. We sit down and the interview begins. "Well I believe that's everything, do you have any questions?" he asks me.

"Yes, you said I might be able to work from home occasionally. How often?" I ask him curious.

"More often then you might think. It's lots of paper work and communications through emails. Which you can do at home, you'll only really have to come in if there is a meeting you have to attend" he tells me.

"How soon will I hear from you about the job?" I ask.

"Within the week" he tells me. We shake hands and he opens the door for me. I bump into someone.

"I'm so sorry" I state.

"Dan, who's this?" he man asks.

"Kate Anderson, she's applying for the job" Daniel tells him. I get a text from Rhiannon. It was a photo of her at the park with the kids.

"I gotta go, hope to hear from you soon Mr Johnson" I tell him. Before leaving. I catch the elevator down and go to the park. Where I'm hugged by my kids and smile. Rhiannon asked how the interview went. "Well I think I got the job, but I'll get a call sometime this week to let me know" I tell her. She nods her head and we enjoy our days off with my kids.

Jason's POV

"Who was she?" I ask Dan again once the woman left.

"I told you man, Kate Anderson. She was here about the job and I must say she seems perfect for it" he tells me. "She has kids, so not interested in pursuing anyone romantically. She has the tech skills for the job and the qualifications for it" he states.

"She just seems so familiar" I mutter.

"I know, I thought so too. But can't place my finger on it" Dan states. "Can I offer her the job?" he asks me.

"I want to see her resume first and recommendation letter. Then I'll decide" I tell him. He nods his head handing me her resume and letter. I went to my office and started to read them.

(Few days later) Daniel's POV

I smile mischievously as I call Miss Anderson. Jason had given the green light to hire her. And of course I recognized her. He still hasn't and she didn't seem to recognize him. Oh this is going to be fun.

Kate's POV

I was at work checking on the animals in care. When my phone rings. I answer it, shushing the dogs. "Kate Anderson?" a guy asks.

"Yes, this is her. Who's this?" I ask him.

"Daniel, from Mitchell's Incorporated. If you want, the job is yours pending how your six month probationary period goes" he tells me.

"That's great" I say with a smile.

"How soon can you start?" he asks me.

"I have to give the clinic two weeks notice before resigning" I tell him.

"Great, we'll see you in three weeks then" he tells me.

"Of course Mr Johnson, thank you for this opportunity. You won't regret it" I tell him.

"I know" he says before hanging up. I get back to work. Then during my break I started my letter of resignation. Deciding to hand it in tomorrow.

Daniel's POV

I place the phone down and lean back on my chair putting my feet on the table. Jason appeared. "Did she accept?" he asks me.

"Yep, be here in three weeks" I tell him.

"Good, you'll be in charge of showing her around and watching her. Remember three strikes, she's out" he tells me. I nod my head and he returns to his office.
