XXIV.

Lisa was in a sticky situation.

It had been during lunch, when she was bundled up in the coop of her self-made library nest, flipping through the pages of her gruesome novel with mild interest. The space around her was small and enclosed, but it provided a sense of comfort to her, away from the issues of her life.

Well, apparently she had been running from her problems way too long, because she soon heard a thunk. The noise was so trivial that Lalisa assumed she had imagined it, only to hear it once more.

Slightly confused, Lisa had glanced up from her book and her eyes almost popped out of her eye sockets when she spotted the person in front of her.

It was Jungkook, crossing his arms and looking stern, but still managed to look attractive as his eyebrows scrunched up in frustration. He was holding a couple of books in his hands, and they all seemed to be on the verge of falling off.

Lisa had softly sighed and began to massage her temples, feeling a huge headache coming on. Whenever Jungkook came to visit her at a place he wasn't supposed to, it never ended up well.

"May I help you?" Lisa said, her tone saccharine sweet as she forced a cold smile. She could see the visible wince on her partner's face as he studied her for a moment.

"Lili..." Jungkook spoke, his voice soft. And there it was again, treating her as if she would break any moment. "Can we please talk?"

"Why would we need to talk?" Lalisa retorted sarcastically. She feel irritated and wanted him to leave.

"You've been ignoring me for two weeks. What happened? I thought we were doing well..." Jungkook had trailed off as he looked at Lisa for her reaction.

She scoffed. "It's a bit too late now, isn't it?"

Lisa could feel the burning of his glare. "I've been waiting for you to cool down. Talking to you when you're mad only leads to more arguments."

Well, he was right about that. Lalisa tended to complicate things more when she was in a state of anger. Her stubborn side, however, would never admit that.

Lisa huffed, turning her head towards the paper in her hands. "No thank you, I still don't want to talk."

When she looked up, she saw Jungkook clenching his jaw, a feral look in his eyes before he blinked multiple times and took a deep breath to calm himself down.

Seeing that look in Jungkook's eyes made Lalisa remember his abusive behavior towards her, and it truthfully scared her quite a bit. But it seemed that he managed to suppress himself from doing anything he would regret.

At the thought of his treatment, it had occurred to her just how much he had changed from the Jungkook she had known a couple of months ago. She glanced up once again, and he was sporting a forced smile.

"Look, love, can we please just talk it out outside? I'll listen to you, I promise."

Seeing how calmly he was assessing the situation, she was slightly impressed by how he handled this situation healthily and nodded skeptically, accepting his offer to talk about their problems and took sympathy on him.

Reason #24: He wants to talk about what's wrong, when his lack of communication skills brought us here.
