XXIII.
Once Lisa's pettiness overtook her, there was no turning back. She was now fully adamant on making him struggle.
She knew she should feel an ounce of sympathy, but she didn't. Whenever she watched his face fall at her rejection towards his touch, his food, or anything else he prepared for her, she felt satisfied.
How dare he try to make a fool out of her? And in front of Mina too?
Every time Jungkook looked pained at her rude behavior, she reminded herself of the memory where he talked with Mina, as if she was weak. As if she was a fragile porcelain doll that would break at one conversation.
Well, now Lalisa was done and fed-up with his childish behavior. If he could treat her like this, then surely she could reciprocate the actions?
Her state of ignoring his every small advance towards her had been going on for at least two weeks, during which she also completely ignored every person she knew except for Jisoo, Jennie, and Rosé, who offered sources of solace during this difficult period of Lisa's.
Other than her unnies, she immersed herself in her studies and during the school day, she would hide in the libraries and the backs of the classroom to avoid being seen by Mingyu, who hadn't been as adamant on chasing after her after the incident at the park unlike Jungkook, who cornered her into rooms often to get her to talk, although she declined.
Lalisa sighed. It was another uncomfortable day at the back of the library. She quickly skimmed through the crumpled and battered pages of the book in her hands. The plot wasn't bland and was in fact very intriguing, but it didn't grab at her attention.
She heard footsteps and immediately stilled from instinct. When the sounds of the footsteps grew louder and more audible, Lisa looked up and saw a masculine body emerge from the library shelf in front of her.
It was Yugyeom.
Lalisa visibly groaned, putting the book on the spare table next to her and burying her face in her hands, accurately guessing the topic of the upcoming conversation.
"Uh... Lisa, right?"
Lisa gave him a pointed look. "Yes, and you're, if I recall correctly, Mingyu's best friend and partner-in-crime, Yugyeom."
The said man gave a chuckle. "Yep, and I assume you know why I'm here?"
Lisa nodded, feeling drained. The past few weeks had taken a toll on her.
"I'm not here for much, I just want to say a couple of things."
Lalisa nodded again, waving her hand as an indication to keep going.
"Mingyu really wants to talk it out. He knows you might not want to and that it might be uncomfortable, but he wants to end this entire situation with a sense of closure. He says he respects your boundaries and will not make you unwillingly date him, he simply just wants to end the awkward tension between you two, but since you keep ignoring him, we have resorted to this..."
Yugyeom trailed off in an uncertain tone, and Lisa never wanted to bang her head and cry so much.
Lalisa thoughtfully looks up at him. "I will talk to him soon. Tell him not to stress too much, I'm just busy with my emotions."
Yugyeom smiled. "Will do," and with those words, turned away and walked off to his best friend.
Lisa let out a sigh she didn't realize she was holding, and notifications from her phone rang off, startling her. She grabbed her phone and checked what they were about, and to her surprise, they were Jungkook.
hey lisa??
are you there??
pls listen to me :(
can we talk??
stop ignoring me, it's
not gonna change
anything.
Lisa pressed her lips into a thin, white slash as intrusive and conflicting thoughts filled her head.
Reason #23: The only time I receive unwanted attention from him, it's because he wants to "save" our relationship without realizing his mistakes.
