Readers Pov

You arrived at the palace after a long hour ride through the desert. You had heard the person on the horse behind you stop a few times but you ignored it. The guard jumped off his horse and started walking towards the palace before he turned and scoffed. "C'mon." he snapped and you hurriedly climbed down." You followed him before he stopped in front of a doorway. "Wait here" he said and walked through. You stood there before looking around. You were in a hallway with a few closed off doorways. Suddenly a girl with brown hair ran around the corner. She laughed and before you know it you were being dragged along with her.

"Woah" she said diving around a corner with you. "That was great At-your not Atem." she said frowning. Then she noticed your clothes. "Hey your new aren't you?" she said smiling and outstretching her hand. You nodded and looked at it before she put it down." "Okay?" she said. "I'm Mana" she said, smiling.

You smiled and was about to reply when a guard ran around the corner. Mana looked at him before taking off, yelling about how shes sorry. The guard glared at you before grabbing your arm roughly. "I told you to stay!" he yelled and you flinched back, terrified. He suddenly turned you around and shoved you on the ground, before taking out a whip. Your eyes widened before a snap was heard and pain flooded your backside. You screamed out in pain as more pain flooded before it suddenly stopped. You looked up in fright and gasped.
The High priest was standing beside the guard and had grabbed the guards arm. He looked at you and his eyes widened before some more guards came around the bend. "What are you doing?!" he asked/growled and then turned to you before turning to the guard. "Who is this?" he asked the guard and the guard stood up straight and looked at you.

"The slave you requested for the Pharaoh sir." he said and the High Priest glared at him. "Why is she being whipped?!" he demanded. "I told her to stay and she didn't." the guard answered. The high priest looked at him in disbelief before he shook his head. "Leave" he demanded and the guard nodded running off. The high priest helped you stand before some medics ran down the hallway. "Take her to the infirmary" he snapped and walked off with the guards. The medics took your hand and ran down the hall, towards the infirmary.

I know this chapter sucked but after you meet Atem it will go smoother. I promise. Also I need to know if you guys wanted me to add Bakura.
