Jack's father Dave and his mother Lucy packed everything he is going to need. Lucy and Dave looked at Jack proudly in the eyes as he is going to be the second Irish soulder to join the US Military.

Lucy:now let's get... To the airport and let our son be the army man we always knew he could.

Jack and Lucy started crying and hugged each other.

Dave-Son I couldn't be more prouder of you... Well maybe except for your grades which were better then we anyone else's.

Jack-thank you dad. 

Dave-you grandfather and grandmother wanted you to have this.

Dave handed a badge which said "Proud US Army man"

Jack-is this from my grandfather when he joined the US Military.

Dave-yes it is, now come on let's go... We don't want to be late.

They all got Jacks stuff packed in the car and then they got in and drove off. Lucy got her phone out (2016 mother of the year)  and turned on the band music which Jack was in high school.

Jack-i hit that drum note!!

They all laughed and had fun for a few minutes then parked in the airport parking lot. They got out and grabbed all the things that were Jacks.

They waited for their plane to be called, but a man in the black suit and asked them.

Ron-are you Sean William Mcloughlin?

Jack-yes?

Ron-the plane is waiting for you, now please say goodbye to your loved ones and let's go.

Ron said it in a relaxing tone. Jack turned to his parents and geared up a bit.

Jack-well... This is it... The big step...

Lucy and Dave hugged Jack tighter then ever.

Dave-please don't lose the badge... In the memory of your grandfather and grandmother...

Jack put the badge on and turned to Ron who was crying.

Ron-im sorry... This is so emotional...

Jack-aww it's OK... Let's go...

Ron-do you need help with the bags?

Jack-no I'm fine!

Jack followed Ron to the V. I. P.  section where they could pass through without any searches or any scanning. Jack thought a normal plane was waiting for them, but no this plane was different. Jack stood in front of the plane in awe and went in. He looked through the glass and waved at his parents.

His parent waved back at him. He sat at one of the seats that were surprisingly comfortable. Then one person sat at the other side of Jack and started asking some questions.

????-How are you?

Jack-im good, thank you, how are you?

Jack sat straight and looked serious not wanting to mess something up. The plane took off.

????-your the first one... EVER... To ask me that... Well I'm OK? Let me ask you a few more questions then we're done... OK?

Jack- yes sir!

Mark-first let me just introduce myself, my name is Mark Fichbach and...

Jack-US army soldier who now got to be the general. Your 27 years old as of this year of 2016.

Mark-wow!! How did you know all that...

Jack-well my grandfather was...

Mark- Michael McLoughlin, right?  We got the news that he passed away 5 years ago... We're very sorry... And if your wondering how I know that... That badge your wearing tells the whole story...

Jack-ohh thank you. If he was still here this will really make his day.

Mark-i don't have anymore questions, but I just wanted to say welcome and don't worry, if something goes wrong, just call me or let me know. OK?

Jack-yes sir!? Ugh... I mean... Mark!

Mark laughed a bit.

Mark-yiu can unfold that bench into a bed if you want to sleep. You'll need it.

Jack got up and unfolded the bench and saw it was like a bed. He saw a blanket above of him and took it.

Jack-aren't you gonna sleep?

Mark-ohhh I'm not tired... *yawn*

Jack-*sigh*

Jack went over to Mark and picked him up.

Mark-ummm what are you doing...

Jack placed Mark on the new made bed and covered him with a blanket.

Jack-didnt expect a soldier to do that huh? Good night!

Mark-are you gonna sleep!

Jack-nah I slept for like the whole day so I got plenty of energy.

Mark-well OK thank you!!

Jack- your welcome.

After a few minutes Mark fell asleep. Jack took out one of the photos where his whole family is in the picture. He smiled.

He took out one of the necklaces his mother and sister made him. It had all sorts of decorations on including a septic eye that they made a long time ago. Jack put on the necklace and laid his head back, falling asleep with a smile on his face.
