Joe knocks on Mika's office door. He knew that he had overstepped when he interrupted her a few times during their interview with Nancy Pelosi, even though he thought nothing of it during the show.

Mika had clearly disapproved of her co-anchor's manners. So, Joe is now on his way to apologize to her.

Joe knocks carefully on Mika's office door again.

"Mika, may I come in?" Joe asks as he receives no answer from behind the office door.

"Who is it?" Mika asks even though she knows that it is Joe.

She was still pissed at him and didn't understand how he could degrade her like that during such and important interview.

"It's me, Mika. Joe. I'm sorry for my actions during the interview. It wasn't my intent to...." Joe was interrupted in his explanation by Mika opening the door.

"Get in here, you don't have to tell the whole office everything." Mika says, clearly still irritated by the whole situation.

"I'm sorry I acted the way I did. I know I was a fool." Joe says and places his hands on Mika's shoulders.

"Take your hands off me, I don't want you touching me right now. You can't boyfriend yourself out of this." Mika snaps at Joe.

"Mika, please let's talk about this." Joe says as he tries to hold Mika's hands.

"I said don't touch me, Joe! And I don't want to talk right now! I'm pissed off at you!" Mika yells, causing Joe to get annoyed.

"Stop yelling!" Joe says in a whisper, trying to get Mika to calm down.

"Why? You told the whole office our business anyway!" Mika says to Joe and Joe huffs.

"Mika, I'm sorry." Joe says to Mika.

"Don't sorry me! You interrupt me all of the time! It never use to bother me but it does now since we are dating! You really hurt my feelings today! This interview was such a big deal to me and you ruined it!" Mika says as she tries to not cry.

"Where are you going?" Joe asks Mika as he follows her like a lost puppy.

"I'm going home! I don't want to be here right now." Mika says as she gets her things.

"You can't run away from this either! I want to have a proper conversation about this! I want you to understand that I'm sorry." Joe tries to get her to stay or at least stand still for a moment so that he can talk to her.

"Frankly, I don't care if you're sorry right now! I need to go home to get my mind straight on this. I don't know if this thing with us working together and having a relationship is a good idea." Mika says in the calmest way she can muster.

"What?! Are you breaking up with me?" Joe questions and pulls on his hair.

"No, I'm not! Don't be dumb! I'm just saying that I don't know if we can work together! This isn't healthy you know." Mika says and puts the last things in her bag.

Mika then leaves her office with Joe quickly following right behind her.

"Joe, why are you following me?" Mika asks Joe, getting annoyed at Joe's behavior at this point.

"Because I really want to talk to you." Joe says, getting worried at this point.

"Joe, can we talk later? I just want time alone right now." Mika says in a tired tone and Joe slowly nods.

"Okay. We can talk later. Be careful going home." Joe says to Mika before walking away.

Mika gets in the car that is waiting for her while Joe sits in his office looking at the ceiling.

Joe gets worried that he just lost the most important person in his life. He had two marriages fall apart and now he might lose Mika, the woman he knows is the one for him.

Mika's car starts to move and she gets lost in the sudden silence. She plays her conversation with Joe over and over again in her head.

"Could you please turn on the radio?" Mika asks as she is uncomfortable with the silence and the light feelings of guilt creeping in on her.

"Of course, ma'am." Mika's driver says and turns on a talk radio station.

The men on the radio discuss a vote in the house, which just makes Mika think of this morning's interview.

"Could you switch to a music station, please?" Mika asks again.

"Of course, ma'am. Any preference?" Mika's driver asks.

"No, just any with only music, please." Mika answers and lays her head back against the headrest.

Meanwhile, Joe can't sit still in his office. He can't concentrate enough to work on his music or tomorrow's show. He paces back and forth in his office.

"Why did I have to be so stupid?" Joe asks himself over and over again.

"Why couldn't I just let her have her moment?" Joe repeats in his head as he does laps around his desk.

Mika manages to take a cat nap during her ride home while Joe leaves work to head back to his house in Connecticut.

Once home, Joe walks into his house. Joe's house is utterly quiet because his two younger kids are at their mom's house for the week.

Joe sits down on the couch and pets Meatball who is laying on the couch. Mika absolutely loves Meatball, so seeing him makes Joe tear up a little. 

"Meow." Meatball says, laying on Joe's lap.

"Hey, bud. Thanks for keeping me company. Today has been a really rough day." Joe says softly to the cat as he pets Meatball's head. 

Meatball curls up and in Joe's lap and lays still.

"You really sense that I need this right now, huh?" Joe says softly and strokes Meatball's fur.

Meanwhile, Mika opens the door to her house and walks into the quiet home. Her girls aren't with her this week, they're on a trip with their dad.

Mika puts her keys down on a bench by the door and kicks of her shoes. She walks into the kitchen to grab something quick to eat.

Mika is still pissed at Joe, she still doesn't get why he acted the way he did. Although, she can now see that she also overreacted. She shouldn't have screamed at him like that but rather had an adult conversation.

She really misses his presence. Everyday life is just lighter when he's around.

Mika decides to call Joe, to try and talk this through. Through all of their disagreements they always get through it when they talk.

Joe continues to pet Meatball and watch some baseball coverage on ESPN since it's something he has enjoyed ever since he was a little kid.

Joe doesn't hear this iPhone ringing because it is still buried in his work bag.

"Come on, Joe. Pick up the phone." Mika says as she begins to pace around her living room.

"Do you think the Redsoxs are going to be in the World Series this year? I really hope so." Joe says to Meatball.

"Meow." Meatball says softly as he cuddles with Joe.

"God I hope nothing is wrong with Joe." Mika says as she begins to panic.

Joe then goes through his work bag and sees that Mika has called several times.

"I hope Mika isn't even more mad at me. Why else would she call me six times." Joe says to Meatball and Meatball meows. 

Mika sits down on her couch and tries to call Joe one last time.

Joe nearly jumps when his iPhone starts to vibrate and ring in his hand. He swipes his thumb across the screen and answers Mika's call right away.

"Hi, baby." Joe answers softly, hoping that Mika isn't more angry with him.

"Joe, are you okay?" Mika asks, super worried about Joe and is trying to catch her breath due to almost having a panic attack.

"Yeah, everything is okay with me." Joe answers, startled with Mika's sudden worry.

"Why didn't you answer my calls? Did something happen to you?" Mika asks Joe softly.

"No, I'm fine Mika. I just forgot my iPhone was in my work bag and I didn't hear you calling." Joe explains, as he sits down at the couch and Meatball walks over to him again.

"Oh, that's good. I thought something serious had happened to you." Mika says as she calms down.

"Mika, did you want something? Why did you call me, baby." Joe asks softly, trying to start a conversation without upsetting her more.

"I just wanted to talk to you over what happened this morning. I realize now that I have seriously overreacted." Mika explains to Joe.

"I thought you didn't want to talk to me." Joe says to Mika softly.

"I didn't earlier and now I do. You sound upset, are you sure you are okay?" Mika asks Joe softly.

"I'm okay. Just been a rough afternoon that's all." Joe says softly.

"I'm sorry, baby. I know I shouldn't have shouted like that at you." Mika says as she tries to not cry.

"Don't apologize, Meek. I was wrong when we did the show. I shouldn't acted the way I did. I'm sorry, baby." Joe says as Mika's eyes starts to tear up.

"I'm sorry for all of this, baby. We should've been able to solve this as sensible adults." Mika says with a loud sigh.

"Yes, baby. I should've been able to take your legitimate criticism." Joe says to Mika.

"Where are you right now?" Mika asks Joe softly as she walks into the bathroom to check her hair.

"I'm at home. I just got home around an hour ago. Why?" Joe says to Mika.

"Umm, do you want to come over and talk? I-I really want to see you and I-I don't like being alone at my house." Mika says to Joe, hoping Joe comes over.

"Yeah, baby. I'd like that very much. It'll take me a little while to drive to you due to the traffic but I can come right away if you want to." Joe says, happy that she wants to see him.

"Yes, I'd really love that. I miss you and I don't want you to be upset with me." Mika says and smiles to herself.

"I miss you too and I'll be there soon." Joe says to Mika and then they hang up.

Mika begins to freshen up before Joe comes over. Mika wants to make sure that he feels good and understands that she still loves him very much.

Joe hops in the car right away, eager to see Mika again.

Joe decides to bring Meatball along, just in case he spends the night. He doesn't like to leave Meatball at home unattended for too long. Joe also knows that Mika loves Meatball and might make her in a better mood.

"Meow!" Meatball says happily as he lays down in the passenger seat.

"We are going to see Mika. Be a good boy for me, okay? And be a good boy at Mika's house. I have your litter box and food so you should be fine." Joe says as he begins to drive to Mika's house which isn't too far from his.

"I hope Mika isn't still mad at me but it doesn't sound like it. I'm bringing you to help Mika not be mad at me." Joe says as Meatball continues to purr.

After a forty five minute drive, Joe and Meatball have made it to Mika's house.

Joe and Meatball get out of the car and walk up to Mika's front door.

Joe rings the doorbell and anxiously waits for Mika to open the door.

Mika sprints to the front door when she hears the doorbell go off. She wants to make up for the fit she threw and changed out of her lounge wear to a light summer dress.

"Hi, Joe! And oh, hi Meatball." Mika says and stands on her tippy toes to kiss Joe.

"Hi, baby. I hope it's okay that I brought Meatball along. You know how I am about him spending the night alone." Joe says, regretting the last part.

"Only if it's okay with you. I figured it might become late if we're up talking and it might be easier for me to spend the night rather than driving home and then back again for the show tomorrow." Joe tries his best to explain.

Mika's dog Cajun happily walks over to greet Joe and Meatball.

"You remember Meatball! He is your buddy!" Mika says to Cajun with a smile and Joe smiles too.

Joe sets Meatball down and gets a litter box set up for him so he doesn't pee all over Mika's house.

Mika can tell that Joe isn't himself, but is in the dumps. Mika feels awful that she made Joe get into the dump again.

Joe walks over to the couch and sits down, looking a little uncomfortable, like he is scared to do anything wrong.

"Do you want something to drink?" Mika asks softly to Joe.

"I'm good, Meek. Thank you." Joe says as he fixes his shirt.

Mika grabs herself and Joe some water, even though Joe hasn't asked a drink.

"I thought you might need this anyway." Mika says and hands Joe the bottle of water.

"Thank you, Meek." Joe says and takes the water and places it on the table.

Joe picks on his fingernails and avoids Mika's eye contact as she sits down next to him on the couch.

"Is something wrong, Joe? You seem so tense." Mika asks him and softly places her hand on Joe's knee.

"I'm just sorry for how I acted today, it wasn't like me. I know I was in the wrong. I should've let you have your moment." Joe explains and slowly turns to look at Mika.

Mika frowns at Joe and sits closer to him.

"I shouldn't have reacted the way I did to you earlier. I mean, the question you asked was very good. That interview was very important to me and it still is but I shouldn't have made it ruin my day if something slightly goes wrong." Mika says and Joe looks at her.

"You didn't make me feel stupid. It's okay, honey. We're in a competitive field that we both are passionate about. I understand that you wanted in on the interview too." Mika says and leans her head on Joe's shoulder.

Joe wraps his arm around Mika and kisses her hair a few times.
