mikabrzezinski My girls with their baby brother 🥺 I am literally the happiest person right now. Carlie always wanted to be a big sister and that dream is finally coming true, just 22 years late! 😂

But on this post, I'm going to be honest. Sometimes adding a baby isn't rainbow and butterflies. Sometimes it's hard. It was hard with my girls. (I'm telling this story with their permission!) The girls weren't happy about Elijah coming. When I told them I was pregnant, they were very upset. They thought it was crazy for me to have a baby at my age. They were worried about my health and dealing with a pregnancy. They also were worried about the future with me and Joe being older (yes we are old!) and what would happen to their little sibling. They both said I shouldn't go through with it.

I was absolutely devastated about their reaction. It really broke my heart because the rest of the kids were excited and happy but my girls weren't. However, I knew over time they would (hopefully) come through and they did about a few weeks after I told them.

But as the months went on, the less upset they were and the more excited they became! Both Emilie and Carlie have basically built the majority of Elijah's wardrobe 😂 So today, Emilie and Carlie came to visit and meet Elijah for the very first time. They both were ecstatic when we FaceTimed them shortly after Elijah was born ❤️ So after getting their covid tests and having negative results, they came right over! Once at our house, both Emilie and Carlie literally ran into the house just to see and meet their baby brother in person for the first time. They are so in love, you would have never known that they weren't happy about him coming. ❤️ #mygirls #mykids #mythreekids #daughters #son #babymorningjoe
