Mika and Joe are currently heading to Mika's doctors appointment! Mika has appointments every two weeks instead of every four because of her age.

Mika and baby Scarborough are both healthy, happy and the pregnancy has been going smoothly for Mika so far!

Today is going to be a special doctors appointment, because Mika and Joe are going to find out what they are having!

Mika thinks the baby is a boy while Joe thinks the baby is a girl. Either way, Joe and Mika will be very happy and excited.

Between Mika and Joe, they have six children. Mika has two daughters - Emilie and Carlie while Joe has three boys and a girl - Joey, Andrew Jack and Kate. Mika and Joe also have Tia's twins Emilie and William who they treat as their own. Making the child count four girls and four boys!

As Joe drives to the appointment, Mika is chugging the water she needs for the ultrasound.

"I feel like I'm going to pee my pants. I don't know how I did this twice before." Mika says as Joe chuckles.

"You are doing great. I'm really proud of you." Joe says as he kisses Mika's hand as he holds it. 

"Our baby is moving like crazy too. I swear they are going to be in gymnastics or some sport." Mika says with a giggle and Joe smiles.

"You think so?" Joe says with a grin and Mika smiles and nods.

"I love you, Joe. I love you so much." Mika says as she squeezes Joe's hand. 

"I love you too. Are you okay?" Joe asks Mika and Mika nods

"I'm okay, I'm just nervous. I don't know why I'm nervous, I know the baby is perfectly healthy after my big anatomy scan ultrasound last week and he or she is actually moving around right now." Mika says to Joe, rubbing her baby bump.

"It's perfectly normal to be nervous. I remember every time Susan and I would come to the NICU to visit Jack we were nervous something happened to him even though they would have called us if it did." Joe says and Mika nods.

"I'm really excited to find out what we are having though. All of the kids seem excited too which makes me happy." Mika says with a grin.

"I know! But I'm sure it's a girl, it seems like you only make girls." Joe says and winks at Mika causing her to giggle.

"Well, they weren't yours and you only have one girl, so I'm sure it's a boy." Mika says and pokes Joe's arm just to tease him.

"Don't disturb the driver." Joe tries to defend himself while still keeping his focus on the road.

Mika finishes her big water bottle and puts it in the backseat.

"I hope they let us in on time because I'll have a hard time holding this pee in for much longer than that." Mika says as they near the health clinic.

"I'm sure it'll be fine, you're strong than you think you are." Joe says and pats Mika on her knee.

Joe pulls up and parks outside of the obgyn clinic and smiles at Mika.

"Here we go, baby mama." Joe jokes as he helps Mika out of the car.

"Thank you, baby." Mika says and kisses Joe's hand as he closes her car door behind her.

"You're welcome, beautiful." Joe says as he holds Mika's hand as they both walk into the obgyn clinic together.

Mika signs in at the front desk and talks with the receptionist while Joe sits down in the waiting room.

"They said I'm next to be seen so we won't have to wait long." Mika says and she smiles, sitting down next to Joe.

Joe rubs Mika's baby bump feeling the baby move around in Mika.

"Active little girl in there." Joe says as Mika giggles at him.

"No, active little boy." Mika says, smiling up at Joe.

"Well, we are about to find out in a little bit." Joe says as he holds Mika's hand.

Luckily with their masks on, nobody recognizes Mika and Joe from TV, which is a really great thing because they haven't told the world about their baby.

Only Mika and Joe's family members, friends and co-workers know about their bundle of joy that's on the way.

After waiting in the waiting room for ten minutes, a nurse calls Mika and Joe back into the exam room. Once inside the room, the nurse checks Mika's vitals before Mika lays down on the exam table.

The nurse talks with Mika while she puts some blue ultrasound gel on Mika's small but noticeable belly to get the baby's heart rate which is in normal range.

"Perfect heart rate! Baby feels like they are active in there too!" The nurse says with a smile at Mika and Joe.

"Oh yes! They are constantly kicking and moving around!" Mika says with a chuckle and a smile.

"Yeah we have an active little girl in there." Joe chuckles happily.

"Oh so Dad thinks the baby is a girl! What does Mom think?" The nurse asks with a smile as she begins to do the ultrasound.

"I think it's a boy. I can just feel it." Mika says and looks up at Joe.

"Well, I have to say that the mom is most often right when the parents disagree." The nurse says and Mika winks at Joe.

"See, I'm always right!" Mika says as Joe giggles and smiles down at Mika.

Joe reaches down and holds Mika's hand as he stands beside the bed watching the ultrasound attentively.

"Here we go, baby." Joe says as the nurse lowers the ultrasound probe on Mika's stomach.

"There we have the baby! Baby looks perfectly healthy as well! I know your anatomy ultrasound was perfect which is wonderful!" The nurse says and Mika and Joe smile from ear to ear under their masks.

The nurse takes a few adorable ultrasound pictures of the baby for Mika and Joe to have as a keep sake.

"There is the baby's legs! The baby looks like a tall one!" The nurse says with a smile at Mika and Joe.

"Just like their Dad! He is six foot four." Mika says as she giggles and smiles up at Joe.

"All of my kids are tall too. Must be the Scarborough gene." Joe says with a grin.

The nurse smiles underneath her mask as the baby opens it's legs to reveal their gender.

"Oh, I can definitely see what you guys are having! No confusion here!" The nurse says as she takes a picture.

Mika and Joe smile at each other as they hold each other's hands.

"Are you guys ready to find out what you are having?" The nurse says as she types the gender on the ultrasound picture as a keepsake. 

"Yes, we are!" Mika and Joe both say in unison and Joe grabs both of Mika's hands to hold.

"You're having a little.....boy!" The nurse says and Mika cheers happily.

"Yay! I told you Joe!" Mika says and winks at Joe.

"I was so sure, it just had to be a girl." Joe says a bit stunned but extremely happy that he and Mika are having a baby boy.

"I was right all the time. I told you." Mika playfullyteases Joe.

"Yes you were, sweety. I am so glad you get to have your first boy." Joe says and gives Mika a kiss on the forehead and Mika smiles

"Everything looks super good. You are carrying a very healthy baby boy." The nurse says and smiles at Mika and Joe.

"Aw, I'm so glad! His four sisters and four brothers are going to be really happy too!" Mika says as Joe smiles.

"A healthy baby is all that matters no matter what! A healthy baby boy is wonderful. He has a big brother at home that is going to be really excited too." Joe says as he rubs Mika's cheek.

"Aw, yes! Jack is going to be so excited to have a baby brother." Mika says with a grin.

The nurse smiles at Mika and Joe before cleaning up the gel off of Mika's stomach.

After the nurse leaves the exam room, the doctor comes into the room talk to Mika and do a check up.

"Are you okay with the baby being a boy? I hope you aren't upset that the baby isn't a girl. I know you wanted another little girl." Mika says as she holds Joe's hand.

"I'm not upset, sweety. I promise you. I was just shocked that the baby is a boy! And I have my baby girl already. Kate will always be my baby girl. I got to experience having a boy and a girl with my four kids. You only got to experience having girls and you get to experience a boy now." Joe says with a big grin.

"I'm excited to see if there's any differences from the girls." Mika says as she pulls down her shirt and sits up on the table.

"I'm sure it will be wonderful." Joe says and kisses Mika's temple.

The doctor does some check ups on Mika and takes a blood test.

"It looks very good Mrs. Scarborough. I an sure the blood results will be good too." The doctor says.

"That's sounds good. You're a healthy little one." Mika says and rubs her bump.

Mika and Joe leave the exam room and Mika sets up her next doctors appointment before they go to the car.

"I'm so excited." Mika says with a big grin.

"I'm excited too! Now we need to think of a name for him." Joe says happily as he rubs Mika's baby bump.

Mika smiles as she places her hand on top of Joe's and smiles up at him.

"I think I have the perfect first name for our little man." Mika says to Joe and Joe smiles.

"What name is that?" Joe asks Mika, curious on what her name choice would be.

"I was thinking Elijah. Elijah after Elijah Cummings. He was one of your closest friends in Congress and a close friend of mine as well. He married us and bonded our families together. I think it would be a perfect way to honor him." Mika explains to Joe.

A tear begins to fill Joe's eye as he looks down at his and Mika's hands.

"It's perfect, baby. Our little man being named after the ceremonial bounding man" Joe says and smiles at Mika as the tear falls down Joe's cheek.

"Oh Joe, don't cry." Mika says as she wipes the tear of Joe's cheek.

"I'm just so indescribably happy." Joe says and kisses Mika's temple.

"I am so happy too. Our little Elijah. I'm sure Elijah is looking down at us and he laughing at us having a baby at our ages. I know he would be happy for us. I know his wife Maya is happy for us." Mika says as she kisses Joe.

"Oh he would be laughing! Being like what the hell are you two doing having a baby! But then he would say it is a blessing." Joe says as he chuckles and so does Mika.

"We need to think of his middle name but we can do that another day." Mika says with a giggle.

"I think I used all of the family names for my four kids!" Joe says as Mika laughs loudly.

"We will have to come up with something, we still have some time." Mika chuckles and hugs Joe.

"Maybe the kids can help if we get stuck." Joe chuckles with a smile at Mika.

"I'm sure they have some ideas." Mika laughs with a grin.

Joe starts the car with the key and looks at Mika.

"Let's go get some ice cream to celebrate before we go home." Joe says and gives Mika a kiss on the cheek.

"I would love that. You know I have been craving ice cream like crazy." Mika says as he kisses Joe back.

"I love you." Joe says softly to Mika.

"I love you too, Meek." Joe says with a cheeky grin at Mika.

"This baby will be the best thing ever." Mika says and rests one hand on her stomach and one hand on Joe's thigh as he drives towards an ice cream parlor.

"He will be." Joe says and glances at Mika quickly.

Joe and Mika continue their drive, hand in hand towards their little celebration of life :)
